* GOT NEWS??? *

Feb 24: Daredevil: Rythm & Hues has been awarded the entire visual effects contract on the Ben Affleck, Daredevil project. (rotten tomatoes) The will be just over 300 vfx used in the film.

Feb 24: Tarapin VCD Recorders: I was wondering when a price break would happen on these great little recording units and apparently it has, as Sam's Club here in Las Vegas is carrying the units for just $199.oo each. Quite a deal from the original $4.99 price tag.

Feb 24: The Time Machine: I have watched the making of... 'the Time Machine' on HBO. The special was very well done and exposed some exciting looking effects and story changes that make the updated version very appealing. The film seemed doomed after the problems reported during the production but perhaps these problems have been worked out. Based on the previews, and the HBO special this could be an exciting sleeper for 2002.

Feb 24: When Do Fans Matter: The internet has brought fans around the world together. The campaigns and fan clubs are huge today. But do we as a group or individual matter when it comes to the networks and studios. Read my views in the new Editorial. CLICK HERE for the editorial, or HERE for the Editorial Main Page Listings.

Feb 23: Wolf Lake & UPN: Cahners is reporting that UPN is close to sealing a deal that will bring former CBS drama series 'Wolf Lake' to UPN. Wolf Lake would air after Enterprise to fill the void left by the cancellation of Special Unit 2 on Wednesdays at 9pm. UPN will air the first five episodes and the 4 remaining unaired episodes. I have seen the unaired pilot and the series should have gone in that direction. It was excellent.

Feb 23Roswell: UPN has pretty much let everyone know the series is done without officially canceling the series. They have ordered the sets for the show be dismantled. A sure sign the series will not be returning for another season. Check them out in the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

Feb 23: New VHS Covers: Despite all the changes going on to the site, eight new covers have been readied for the site from Tim Freeman.  Joining the 125+ selection of covers is 'Wolf Lake', 'Young Americans', 'First Monday', 'Max Bickford', 'According to Jim', 'Mortal Kombat', 'Transformers', and 1975's 'Invisible Man'.

Feb 23: Twilight Zone: UPN has ordered a telefilm pilot based on the original Twilight Zone series starring Rod Serling. Oscar winner Pen Densham will write and executive produce the project. the original Zone aired on UPN parent station CBS.

Feb 23: Dinotopia: Vfx supervisor for Dinotopia, Michael McGee told the Sci-Fi Wire that he and his crew have come up with a new technology for to create never before-seen images of humans riding dinosaurs. He devised a motion rig saddle that was driven by a computer generated dinosaur through the computer. The first part of the mini-series airs at 7pm on May 12.

Feb Scoop: Farscape Finale Spoilers: Josh Hadley has seen the final four episodes for this season due in April on the Sci-Fi Channel. The following episode titles with synopsis have spoilers.... Read at your own risk. (Josh may have misspelled some names but you'll know who he is talking about.)  You have been warned my friends. SPOILER ALERT

"I-Yensch, You-Yensch"

While Rygil and D'Argo barter an uneasy truce with Scorpius (to work together against the Scarrians) Talyn starts to get so paranoid that he not only destroys an innocent medical ship he blasts Moya. These actions cause the crew to forcibly shut down his systems. During the negotiations with Scorpius (held in a diner) the group is unwittingly caught in a robbery of the diner. Forced to work together they defeat the robbers and come to an agreement on how to insure that both sides can "trust" one another. Agreeing on neural bracelets which allow each of the wearers to feel everything that the other feels Moya crew and Scorpius meet on the Command Carrier. Meanwhile Crais is agonizing over what to do about Talyn and decides that a complete systems reboot is necessary.

"Into the Lion's Den (Part 1): Lambs to the Slaughter"

Aboard the Command Carrier John and Scorpius nervously work together (John has no plans to actually give Scorpius the Wormhole information, rather trying to give false data to Scorpius). Crais and Aryen are finding it very hard to be back amongst the the team-mates and "friends" they used to have as Peacekeepers. The rest of the crew is attacked in an attempt to discredit Moya's crew and Scorpius finds that his command is not as absolute as he believes it is, as his superiors think the Wormhole project is taking too much time and manpower from the fleet. After rebelling from "the Council" Scorpius is stripped of his command. Scorpius follows this by fighting with John and threatening to enslave earth.

"Into the Lion's Den (Part 2): Wolf in Sheep's Clothing"

Not able to actually destroy Scorpius Wormhole information, John unlocks the "secrets" that the ancients endowed him with and is really able to stabilize a Wormhole. With his crew rebelling against him, Scorpius is growing more and more desperate. John and the crew decide that since they can't destroy the Wormhole info that Scorpius has that the next best thing is to destroy the entire Command Carrier. Crais betrays the entire crew by arranging to turn them (and their plan) over to Scorpius in exchange for Talyn being repaired and Scorpius to relinquish the bounty on him. John soon discovers that Crais did not indeed betray them, but rather had his own plan, Talyn and he will Starburst while still within the hold of the Command Carrier, which will cause it to implode slowly (allowing most of the crew time to evacuate). This plan will of course kill hm and Talyn. After they make the ultimate sacrifice and the Command Carrier (and MANY, MANY Peacekeeper ships) are destroyed Scorpius and John have their "final" showdown.

"Dog With Two Bones"

With the Peacekeepers severely crippled and Scorpius without any real power, the crew is prepared to go their separate ways (D'argo is going to kill the Sebatian that framed him, Rygil is going to reclaim his throne etc...) and John and Aryen have a hard time saying goodbye. Aryen just can't let John get close again for fear of  loosing him again. While trying to deposit Talyn's remains in the Leviatian graveyard Moya is attacked by an insane Leviathan (who killed her Pilot). The insane Leviatian refuses to allow Talyn to be buried there since he is part Peacekeeper. The crew (at Moya's request) kills the rouge and prepares to break-up. After Aryen leaves, John (feeling down) and the Scorpy- Clone are in Farscape 1 flying around Moya. A Wormhole appears from nowhere and Moya is dragged in. John also has knowledge that Aryen is with child (from the other John) and John is now stranded and out of fuel.

Feb 22: Site Changes: I guess you all noticed the changes to the site. Other areas will be going through similar changes to look a bit more... whatever. I hope everyone enjoys the new look.

Feb 22: Terminator 3: The MOVIEHOLE.net site has scored some great news from Arnoldmovies.com that virtual unknown 'Kristanna Loken' has scored what could be a breakout action role as the female Terminator in the new film. the 22 yr-old Loken has played in the films, 'Philly' and 'Panic'. T3 will pick up 10 years in the future re-teaming a twenty-something John Connor with the cyborg protector. Terminator 3 is headed for a 100 day shooting schedule.

Feb 22: PREY: Last year, Professor Mary Ann Beavis, gave a presentation entitled, 'Prey for Us' Biblical Allusions in a 'Cult' TV Science Fiction Drama" at Luther Seminary, St. Paul. MN. "Prey", as most people know, was a runaway 1998 television series that was badly mistreated by the American ABC network. Despite only 13 episodes, Prey has become a cult phenomenon backed by a world wide campaign to see the production and airing of the newly written sequel movie. A revised edition of the biblical images study is slotted to be published in the first issue of the new online Journal of Religion & Popular Culture. In the meantime, further analysis of the religious/spiritual function/effect of Prey on fans (as opposed to the religious themes in the series) is now under study. Does this show ever cease to amaze and affect people?

Feb 22: X-File Answers: Fox is promising fans that many of the shows mysteries will be answered in the final 5 episodes from the nine seasons. Fans will even get to finally learn if Scully's baby is human.

Feb 22: Del Hellboy: Blade 2 director Guillermo Del Toro is eager to helm the 'Hellboy' comics feature as his next project according to the Sci-Fi Wire. He believes he must do the comic turned feature to prevent it from being fucked up in translation from comic to film. Del Toro wants it to be exactly like the comic book.

Feb 22: Perlman is Hellboy: In the same interview with Sci-Fi Wire Del Toro mentioned that it's Ron Perlman or nobody will assume the lead role. He believes Vin Diesel would be a great alternate and the budget for the film would be larger, but both Del Toro and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola believe Ron Perlman is the perfect person. Perlman is due up next in Blade 2, and then appears in a major role in the still in production 'Star Trek: Nemesis' feature. Perlman biggest role was Vincent on 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Feb 22: Time Tunnel: Casting has begun for the new Fox series with the signing David Conrad to play Dr. Doug Phillips. Time Tunnel will be a Regency TV & 20th Century TV production.

Feb 22: New Starsky & Hutch Series: Not exactly but Charlie's Angels McG has teamed with writer John McNamara for the series 'Fast Lane' being hailed as an updated 'Starsky & Hutch'. Set to star in the new series is Bill Bellamy and Peter Facinelli.

Feb 22: Tekken: Crystal Sky has acquired the rights to make a $60M feature film based on the video game of the same name. Tekken has been one of the most successful video game franchises in the world. Crystal Sky is hoping to get the film into production as soon as possible. (zap2it.com)

Feb 21: Interesting Time: Yesterday, for sixty minutes, time and day aligned in perfect symmetry. At 8:01 PM, it read, 20:02,20/02/2002.  This event only occurred once before and will never be repeated. The last occasion that time unfolded in such a symmetrical pattern was 10:01 AM on the 10th of January (10/01) in the year 1001. Since the clock reads time up to 23:59, a symmetrical pattern will not happen again.

Feb 21: Eight More Covers Coming: Eight more new covers are coming to the site in the days to come. Wolf Lake, First Monday, Young Americans, Transformers, Max Bickford, Invisible Man from the 1975 series, Mortal Kombat: Conquest, and According to Jim.

Feb 21: Time Tunnel VHS: New VHS Cover Sheets for Green Hornet, Time Tunnel, and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea have been added to the site for download. That's about 12 in the past week. Neolase has custom designed these for scifi2k.com. Enjoy.

Feb 20: New Chrome Images: I have added three new images to the Chrome Site. Two under the costume Area and one in the concept art. You can also access the latest images in the Latest Press Release.

Feb 20: Simpson Gets Big in UK: British television have gotten stupid and went into a bidding war of none other than Bart Simpson and Family. Offers for the eleven seasons are hitting nearly $400,000 per half-hour episode between Channel 4 & Channel 5. the BBC2, which has had the rights for the past six seasons dropped out after bidding went over the 149,000 dollars per half-hour episode. Simpsons was one of the BBC2's highest rated series.

Feb 20: Werewolf Thriller: Fox 2000 will develop a spec script from J. Barton Mitchell title 'Silver Strike'. The story follows a troop of werewolf hunters.

Feb 20: Brosnan Injured: James Bond took it on the knee during filming taking the secret agent man out of action for about two weeks. The film will still hit theaters as planned in November.

Feb 20: No Galactica in US: the Digitalbits.com website has gotten word from Universal that there are NO plans to release the Battlestar Galactica boxed set in the USA anytime soon. The Aussies (Region 4) will be the only ones getting this incredible piece of work. Hey Universal!!! Fuck you too.

Feb 19: Server Problems: Server problems prevented yesterdays update with Farscape news. So, it goes up today.

Kevin Smith leaves behind his wife and three children, Oscar, 11, Tyrone, 9, and Willard, 3. (nzherald.co.nz)

Feb 17: Galactica DVD Set: Yep it's coming to Region 4 for the Aussies, but there are no plans for a region 1 or 2 release, as yet. Feb 16: Cut 2, Deeper: A low budget Aussie horror film is going into production, called Cut 2: Deeper. Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy will star. (filmink.com)

Feb 16: Stargate Fan Revolt: The Sci-Fi Channel could have picked up a potentially expensive lemon with the sixth and final season of Stargate SG-1, due to premiere on the network before season completes its run on Showtime. The death of character Dr. Daniel Jackson played by Michael Shanks has hit many fans hard overseas, who have already seen the episode. That is likely to spread over to the U.S. before the episode premieres here. The series ratings had fallen off over the past years as the storylines became more conspiracy theory and geared toward the younger male audience. Rather than renew the fresh Invisible Man series with unlimited potential for new episodes - the Sci-Fi Channel has purchased five seasons of reruns and 22 new episodes of Stargate that no one may be watching. (salon.com)  Bonnie Hammer... you go girl.

Feb 16: And... Cut to Commercial: Zap2it.com has an interesting article today concerning commercial time. In Primetime the big four networks are averaging between 16 minutes & 17 seconds of commercials per one hour series. NBC is airing the most commercials of the bunch, but... it also tells you how much is cut from a series by the Sci-Fi Channel, TNT, TBS, and TNN. Three to four minutes are cut... that's 4 minutes per episode and 88 minutes from a 22 episode season. That's over two episodes worth of material from one season removed by these networks. Wow!

Feb 16: What's Up With ALF?: Seeing the old Alfer return with Terry Bradshaw in a new 10-10-220 commercial leads one to believe that there may be plans for ALF. Either the long anticipated, and previously reported, DVD boxed set containing the entire ALF Collection or an effort to bring Alf back.

Feb 16: Blackjack: Catch 23 Entertainment has purchased the film rights to the graphic novel, 'Blackjack' from Platnum Studios. Blackjack is a series of novels about a black soldier of fortune. Michael Jai White (Spawn) is slated to star in the new feature.

Feb 16: Charmed is Coolio: Come march will find Coolio guest starring on Charmed as a.... demon. The rapper/actor will play a demon named Lazarus. The episode is titled 'Marry Go-Round.

Feb 16: Mummy Man Goes TV: Genre feature star 'Brendan Fraser' (the Mummy) will guest star in two upcoming episodes of Scrubs.

Feb 16: Voyage Cover: A new VHS Cover Sheet has been added for Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. You can download the cover sheet in the VHS Cover Sheet area

Feb 15: Superman 5: Charlie's Angels director 'McG' has been signed to direct 'Superman 5'. The project will likely begin production after the completion of 'Charlie's Angels 2'. 'Alias' series creator J.J. Abrams has been hired by Warner Brothers to pen the script. Jon Peters will produce the fifth installment. Big question is why bother with another Superman sequel?

Feb 15: No More Austin: New Line Cinema has confirmed that Michael Myers and Jay Roach will likely not be returning for any further Austin Powers films. This is contrary to previous statements by both persons who has stated that they would like to keep going with Austin as long as they could.

Feb 15: Terminator 3 Update: MovieHole.net has scored a very interesting bit of news concerning Terminator 3 production in Canada. Arnold Swartzenegger is interested in running for the Governorship of California at some point and wants T3 filmed entirely in the United States rather than Canada. He has agreed in a reduction in salary to get the production moved. Arnie doesn't want the publicity of this production being filmed outside the U.S. (moviehole.net)   This leads one to believe that after True Lies 2 the Swartz could be slowing down to turn his attention to California politics.

Feb 15: Invisible Man Scores Big: The canceled  series has actually done well in syndication compared to other series. This, despite its less than stellar syndication market USA Network sold it to.  For the week of January 28th the series audience was up 18% and scored a 2.0/2.1 in the ratings. Hard to believe no network has stepped forward to pick up the series, or the producers taking the series into total syndication. (ron wolfe) Remember, this rating is a syndicated rating and not its first run rating on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Feb 15: Enterprise/Smallville: These two fledgling series continue to excel in the ratings as both series ratings remain above 6 and both were number 79 in the overall ratings for the week. While Smallville was already renewed, UPN has yet to greenlight the series for a second season. UPN has failed to renew anything beyond this season. Buffy is the only series scheduled to return, due to its two-year commitment coming over from the WB this past season.

Feb 15: Queen of the Damned: MovieHole.net has posted news that there are a bunch of deleted scenes from the movie over at there website. CLICK HERE to check out the Warner Brothers website.

Feb 15: Witchblade Pilot Again: If there is anyone who hasn't seen the TNT telefilm pilot for 'Witchblade' will be able to view the movie on the WB February 19th at 8pm. (comics2film)

Feb 14: Space Above & Beyond: A new cover sheet for the Morgan & Wang series 'Space Above & Beyond' has been added to the website for download. VHS Cover Sheet Area.

Feb 14: X-Files Finale: The X-Files series will air its series finale broadcast at 8pm Sunday, May 19th. The X-Files will depart the airways with a two-hour finale. The bad news is that the finale will air opposite of endgame episode of Survivor 4.

Feb 14: Angel Headed to UPN???: Even though ANGEL has managed the same ratings with out the Buffy lead in to it this season, the series may be doomed thanks to the WB's 'Family and Franchise' theme. If the WB backs away from the series, UPN has already agreed to pick up the series from its deal last season to get Buffy. With Roswell departing at the end of this season the slot becomes available to pair the two series up again. (ron wolfe)

Feb 14: I-Man Star Moving On?: Invisible Man & Prey star Vincent Ventresca isn't sitting around hoping a network comes through for his I-Man series. The actor is joining an ABC untitled comedy pilot which also includes genre actress Sabrina Lloyd (sliders). In the comedy about three thirty-something couples Ventresca will play a toy designer whose wife sells Mercedes Benzes.
