AUG 31: Arnold & Stallone: It appears that these two once big time action stars are still talking about teaming up for action feature. I reported this conversation nearly one year ago. Stallone still wants the two of them to go head to head while Arnie wants an all-star cast to team together. Imagine a flick starring... Arnold, Stallone, Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Danny Glover, Wesley Snipes, and Mel Gibson. Hell, imagine the budget.

AUG 31: Blade 2: David Goyer is working on the script, this time, to help bring down the pictures budget, which is double that of the first film. Says Goyer, "We're trying to bring it down a bit".

AUG 31: Witchblade: The new TNT movie was great for a television movie, but I found it to be extremely predictable. Some of the flashing fight scenes were annoying and took away from Butler's athleticism. Yancy Butler was awesome in the role and generally is in anything she does. I enjoyed her in the short-lived     genre series, 'Mann & Machine. Hopefully TNT will develop the pilot into a new series. Taking it syndicated would be much better for the series than being on TNT.

AUG 31: Andromeda: The new series 'Andromeda', starring Kevin Sorbo is set to begin airing on October 3. Be sure to check local listing in your area.

AUG 31: No Baker for R2D2: Kenny Baker, who has played the little droid R2D2 in the first four films will get very little time in the new film. George Lucas will be doing most of the R2D2 scenes using a CGI rendering of the droid in the film. Baker is very disappointed saying that Lucas always told him that R2 always came alive when he was inside.

AUG 31: Six: Michael Jai White (Spawn) coming off a decent role in 'Universal Soldier: The Return' (which sucked) begins shooting his new action flick, 'SIX', in September. Also starring in the feature film will be Tom Sizemore and Toni Braxton. Kirk Wong is directing the script from John Sasano. Warner Bros. is distributing in the US.

AUG 30: Logan's Run: With the production of the 70's remake of 'Logan's Run' gearing up Michael York, who played Logan 5 in the first film, is letting it be known that he would like to play the old man. The part played by Peter Ustinov. However, according to the rumors from William F. Nolan the new feature film may not include that character.

AUG 30: Gadget 2: Disney is planning a direct to video sequel of Inspector Gadget involving G2. A female gadget. This will be a $10M budgeted DTV feature.

AUG 30: Terminator 3: Ridley Scott looks to be a done deal. During an interview with UK journalist Mark Kermode, Ridley Scott told him he is expecting to move into T3 after finishing up work on 'Hannibal'.

AUG 30: Escape From New York: Producer Debra Hill, of the in development syndicated series 'Escape From New York', says they are trying to come up with a way to keep the storyline working for about 100 episodes. Hey there are probably thousands of prisoners there with more coming everyday and the Snake Plissken adventures could revolve around them.

AUG 30: Thunderbirds: Creator Gerry Anderson is excited about the new Thunderbirds being done in CGI. They look just like the puppets with no strings and they move like real people, Anderson told BBC radio Oxford. You might expect to see them soon.

AUG 30: Outer Limits: Belated note that on Amazon.com bidding began on about 400 items from the long running Showtime series 'Outer Limits' around August 11. The Sci-Fi Channel is still negotiating with MGM TV about taking over the series. If costs can be cut dramatically of course.

AUG 30: Highlander Endgame: Many fans and writers seem a bit peeved that the new movie doesn't have a real web presence like other films have been doing with the internet these days. Oh well, you know that minute the film hits the theatres fan sites will spring up everywhere.

AUG 30: Brion James: I find it odd that the Sci-Fi Channel has not had a movie day dedicated to supporting actor Brion James, who passed away last year. James appeared in a many genre movies and series. He was a replicant in Ridley Scott's 'Blade Runner'. While James was never a leading man, he was a  great supporting actor. You can also catch him in many many non-genre shows like the two 48 Hour flicks, and Striking Distance as Eddie.

AUG 30: Redline: Vin Diesel's new action picture, 'Redline' began filming July 31 in Los Angeles. Also cast with Vin Diesel include, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yune, Matt Schultz, Chad Lindberg, Michelle Rodriquez, Johnny Strong, Vyto Ruginis, and Ted Levine. The film is from Universal Pictures.

AUG 30: LeFemme Nakita: According to USA Network the Pita Wilson series 'LeFemme Nakita' has been brought back for an 8 episode fifth season. However, with the tiny budget, all the actors CANNOT be in every episode. If the season does well in the ratings maybe we can expect a larger budget and more episodes. THANKS USA and WARNER BROS. for at least giving the fans something.

AUG 28: Forever Knight: Thanks to some images donated by Dark Knightie Jan I have completed a VHS Cover Sheet for the series 'Forever Knight' starring Geraint Wyn Davies as Nick Knight. The original Forever Knight was played by Rick Springfield in a TV Movie that premiered Aug of 1989, titled Nick Knight.

AUG 28: Carl Banks Dead: Donald Duck artist Carl Banks has passed away at the age of 99 on Friday of leukemia. He drew Donald Duck for thirty years.

AUG 28: DVD DeCSS: Despite the US ruling making 2600.com remove the DeCSS program from their site, 2600 Austrailia will not be removing the program from their site. Try wiretapped.net if your looking for a download of this software.

AUG 27: Witchblade: The TNT pilot movie Witchblade will air tonight (sunday) at 8pm & 10pm PST. It will also air again on Tuesday night at 8pm pst.

AUG 27: XFL: The new XFL team in Vegas has been named... the 'Las Vegas Outlaws'. Odds makers are still wondering if the wrestling owned league will be real or not, despite NBC and the WWF stating the league will be real. Clothing and sportswear will be available in retail stores by Christmas. The newly formed league will begin play in February 2k1. Other teams names include, Orlando Rage, New York/New Jersey Hitmen, Memphis Maniax, San Jose Demons, Los Angeles Xtreme, Chicago Enforcers, and the Birmingham Thunderbolts.

AUG 27: Voyager News: Garrett Wang, who plays Harry Kim, is ready for the series to come to a close. While he is thankful for the experience he is not interested in returning to another Trek series as Harry Kim. A guest appearance or recurring character as Kim or an alien would be fine though. Can't blame the guy the way his character has been left behind since the arrival of Seven of Nine. Seven years as an ensign is terrible. Tom Paris has been demoted and promoted again during this time.

AUG 27: the Pretender: Even in re-run status on NBC the Pretender continues to pull in decent ratings with a 3.5 average. Not bad for a cancelled show in rerun mode. TNT will continue the series in a two-hour movie format.

AUG 27: Series Premieres: The new genre line-ups begin airing from September 18 with the Outer Limits to Nov 5 with the X-Files.  Voyager premieres Oct 4 with Seven Days on Oct 11.

AUG 26: Voyager News: Captain Janeway, Kate Mulgrew, keeps hinting that she would like it to be her character who has to give her life in order for Voyager to reach the Alpha Quadrant in this final season of Star Trek Voyager.

AUG 26: ReplayTV: Replay TV will not be offering IPO due to unfavorable market conditions. They had applied in January but since June their enthusiasm has dropped.

AUG 26: Black Panther: Wesley Snipes is hoping to get the project before the cameras by the end of next year. He had wanted to do the project before Blade, but problems occurred that made it impossible. (comics continuum)

AUG 26: Logan's Run: Write/Creator of Logan's Run, William F. Nolan is excited about the remake of 'Logan's Run'. He told the 'World of Logan's Run' website that the new Warner Bros.  picture being directed by Skip Woods will be more like the original novel. Death will be at 21 rather than 30, Box will be half human and half flesh, plus Logan and Jessica will find a true sanctuary in the remake. Logan's Run should be in theatres by summor or Christmas of 2002.

AUG 26: Dark Angel: The Dark Angel pilot movie, from James Cameron, will air in the 9pm to 11pm time frame EST. This is odd in the fact that the 10pm to 11pm slot is Fox TV's news slot. The series itself will premiere on October 3.

AUG 26: BLADE 2: Wesley Snipes was gushing with praise when talking to comic continuum, saying that the sequel to 'Blade' will be better than the first film by far.

AUG 24: VHS Cover Sheet: Star Trek the Next Generation has been added to the website for you trek lovers doing your own recording. CLICK HERE for the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

AUG 24: Final Destination 2: Even though Wong & Morgan won't be on it, there is a sequel to Final Destination in the works on the fast track at New Line Cinema. Eric Bress and Jonathan Grubber will scribe the picture while Warren Zide and Craig Perry, producers of the first film, will again produce.

AUG 24: VHS Cover Sheet:  Star Trek Voyager has been added to the website for you trek lovers doing your own recording. CLICK HERE for the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

AUG 24: Outer Limits: The Sci-Fi Channel is in negotiations with MGM-TV to continue the series for one more season of 22 episodes. The Sci-Fi Channel already has the rights to the final season wrapping up on Showtime. Should the SFC work out the deal, Showtime would not be involved.

AUG 24: VHS Cover Sheet: Star Trek the Original Series Cover Sheet has been added to the site per requests I have received. CLICK HERE for the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

AUG 23: A-Team Returns: Looks like the A-Team is next in line to jump from the television to the big screen. Stephen J. Cannell, who produced the series, will be producing the feature film for Fox 2000. It will feature a much younger cast than the original and have a contemporary feel. Pity the fool. (top cow)

AUG 23: Harry Kim: Voyagers Harry Kim will get some serious development this season after being neglected over the last two-seasons plus. However, it is odd that the producers and writers have forgotten that this is NOT the real Harry Kim. This Harry Kim is from a different reality. Hello?

AUG 23: Dead Man on TV: DC Comics character 'DEAD MAN' is being developed for the small screen by Warner TV for a possible TNT television pilot. The basic story idea does not follow the comics however. (variety)

AUG 23: Trek Covers: I am currently working on VHS Cover Sheets for Star Trek the Next Generation, The Original Series, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. They should be up sometime this week. The Next Gen cover is done but hasn't been uploaded yet. Voyager, likely to be next...

AUG 23: Still looking: Still in search of some quality images for some older shows so that I can complete some cover sheets for them. Here are just some I need images from. (no video capture images.) Forever Knight, Time Tunnel, Knight Rider, the A-Team, Starsky and Hutch, plus many others.

AUG 22: Been hitting the 14 hour days at the new Aladdin in Las Vegas. Thanks for sticking around and waiting. Updates will be more regular now. What a great hotel and casino.

AUG 22: Pitch Black 2: David Hayter, X-Men, will put the pen to the 'Pitch Black 2' script. While the details of the story are being kept secret, for the moment, Vin Diesel will be back in the sequel.

AUG 22: UPN Go!: Looks like UPN may still have some life left in the stations bought out by the FOX network. They realize that UPN could bring in some great primetime ratings for the stations currently carrying UPN. Rupert Murdoch says he will have to talk with Viacom and work some things out. He says he will not be the first to walk away from UPN.

AUG 22: Trek Series V: Looks like with the Viacom buy-out of UPN that the new Star Trek V series will likely air on CBS or syndication. Syndication  would allow the show less censoring than if they were on CBS.

AUG 22: Trek 10: Richard Arnold is reporting that Star Trek 10 is looking at a release date of Thanksgiving 2001. It would be nice if some Deepspace Nine characters were introduced and the Next Generation characters phased out. Gotta keep Ryker though.

AUG 22: Batman Beyond: It is expected that Warner Brothers will announce this week or next that 'Batman Beyond' will be taken live action and to the big screen. Paul Dini is scripting the project  about a future young 'Batman' who learned his moves from the original. (comics continuum)

AUG 17: Rising Stars: Babylon 5 creator Michael J. Straczynski's comic series 'Rising Stars' has been picked up by MGM Studios to be put into development as a feature film. Straz was paid in the $1M range as MGM peeks into the possibility of turning this in a trilogy of films. (variety)

AUG 17: Blade 2: David Goyer has confirmed that Kris Kristofferson's character, 'Whistler' would be in the sequel. He said the method of bringing the character back would be believable though he would not discuss how. (comics continuum)

AUG 17: Halloween 8: The ninth sequel continues to move forward with Larry Brand penning the script which will somehow resurrect a character who had his head decapitated at the end of the 8th film, H2O.

AUG 17: Work Program: I start 12 hour days at the new Aladdin for the next week or so. Please pardon any days where there are no updates. New cover sheets will be coming in a few weeks for the Star Trek series, Next Generation, Deepspace Nine and Voyager, and possibly the Original Series. Thanks for all your patience folks. Appreciate it.

AUG 16: Ghost Rider: The new feature film is set with a budget around $75M and is being produced by Marvel Studios and Crystal Sky Entertainment. Variety is reporting that Blade's Steve Norrington is in negotiations to helm the project.

AUG 16: UPN Doomed: It is extremely possible that UPN will be doomed in January now that Chris-Craft has sold their affiliates that carry the UPN signal to Fox TV Network. It appears unlikely that those affiliates will be re-up with UPN. Looks like Seven Days, and Voyager might have shortened seasons this fall when UPN affiliates become FOX. Other stations in key areas are being sought to become UPN affiliates at this time, but UPN could be a dead product in the near future. (variety)

AUG 16: Nakita Lives: Recently cancelled USA series 'Le Femme Nakita' seems to be getting new life as Warner Brothers is negotiating with USA network to continue the series. Ratings have been decent while USA Net. news series have sucked in the ratings. Even with very little advertising now the series is doing well.

AUG 16: Dungeons USA: The long completed movie, 'Dungeons and Dragons' finally has a US distributor in New Line Cinema. They are reportedly paying about $8M for the rights to distribute the film, but also have the rights to any sequels that are spawned by the $36M film directed by Corey Solomon.

AUG 16: Invincible Progressing: The new series in development from Jet Li and Mel Gibson along with Alliance Atlantis titled 'Invincible' is moving right along. Should the series get picked up, the production partners are prepared to make a 3 season 66 episode commitment (hollywood reporter)

AUG 14: Klumping for 3: Universal and Imagine Entertainment are eager to proceed on another sequel to Murphy's 'Nutty Professor' franchise. Already the first sequel has grossed over $75M

AUG 14: NBC Layoffs: NBC has laid off 170 of 850 jobs from its internet division thanks to low stock prices and spending. This does not effect their division of Xoom.com and Snap.com.

AUG 14: Freaky Sucks: Reviews of the new series, 'Freaky Links' have been poor so far. Enough so, that there have been changes behind the scenes for the series already. Changing the series name to something this stupid, doesn't help either.

AUG 14: JP3 News: Tea Leoni should have completed her negotiations to join the cast of 'Jurassic Park 3' by today. Trevor Morgan signed on early last week.

AUG 13: Sat Hackers Busted: Seven people have had charges filed against them and another seven have pleaded guilty over illegal signal reception from a Direct TV sting operation in which 3195 hacked card were sold to satellite dealers, and 382 hacked cards were sold to individuals through an internet business front. Yeah, let's set up something illegal and get people to buy it, so we can bust them for it.

AUG 13: AOL Get Stupid: America On-Line in its great wisdom has yanked their mp3 search engine citing concerns over the difficulty of distinguishing legal downloads from illegal ones. Thank you AOL for protecting us as if we were all just little children who need another mommy and daddy. Man, AOL sucks.

AUG 13: Halloween 8: My God! There is actually plans for another installment of this horrible franchise. And Jamie Lee Curtis is under contract for a Cameo. They are negotiating for her to have a larger role. Did you see how stupid the last one was? The asshole had his head hacked off for cryin' out loud.

AUG 13: A small moment of silence please for Sir Alec Guiness. Rest In Peace.

AUG 13: Indy 4 News: Possibly bad news for an Indiana Jones 4 being directed by Steven Spielberg. He has signed to do a feature titled 'Big Fish', a comedy- fantasy- drama. Production plans are to start the film after Minority Report around the summer of 2k1. Daniel Wallace has penned the script.

Cage's  publicist also confirms that he is interested in the role. But nothing has been signed.

AUG 12: the Darkness: Top Cows other hot property besides 'Witchblade'  is 'the Darkness'. Columbia Pictures has picked up the rights to the comic book series. (daily variety)

AUG 12: Voyager Death?: Dark Horizon is reporting a convention where the crew attending mentioned that Voyager will indeed get home this season, but it is likely one of them will have to give their life for it to get Voyager back into the Alpha Quadrant. Wonder who it will be? I believe it will be Tom Paris, or Chekotay

AUG 12: Mission to Mars: The less than stellar, or entertaining, feature film 'Mission to Mars' is set to appear on DVD September 9, 2000.

AUG 12: Fox going Ape: Twentieth Century Fox appear to be unhappy with Tim Burton's twist on the original 'Planet of the Apes'. Particularly the Burton's ape-human romance story line.

AUG 11: Jack of all Gone?: Despite expose magazine reporting that Bruce Campbell's series, 'Jack of all Trades' was picked up for next season, the sci-fi wire is reporting the 14 episode series has been cancelled. Do you want to save the low rated series? If so, CLICK HERE, to check out the SAVE The show fan site.

AUG 11: Cleopatra 2525: Well, the October issue of Sci-Fi Magazine is reporting that Cleo 2525 will be back for a second season along with Jack of all Trades. Wish it was true, but the reports on Sci-Fi Wire are likely more accurate.

AUG 11: Mummy 2: Star Brendan Frasier told SFX web the sequel would bring audiences more of the same thrills as the original. Says Frasier, "We're definitely going to deliver even more of that kind of adventure and fun."

AUG 9: Trek DVD Madness: I cannot believe that Paramount is only sticking 90 minutes (2 episodes) worth of episodes on a single DVD. Not when they can DVD 18  340 minutes on them. (that's 7 episodes). Why not season boxed sets of the series?  And what is  worse... there are people out there buying these fucked up discs. Damn... Some must have stupid written on their forehead.

I was sent a screener of the film to review. The feature film was directed and written by Timothy Hines. Read the Review.

AUG 7: Matrix Bombs:  The Warner Brothers hit movie 'The Matrix' made an impressive $469M world wide, but has bombed the competition on DVD being the first DVD to sell over 3 million copies so far.  Only 7.5M DVD players have been sold so far, meaning that basically half the DVD player owners out there own the Matrix. But, the numbers are actually hirer since some own more than one DVD player. I personally have four DVD units.

AUG 7: Cameron Available: Expose is reporting that James Cameron has finally cleared the 'True Lies' sequel from his schedule making him available to direct the Terminator 3 project should he change his mind. He may be interested in making up with Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna IF Fox agrees to distribute the movie. Maybe Cameron is just playing hard to get. ;-)

The Exorcist trilogy has exorcized up $221M (the first film will be re-released this year.) Dragging in last is the Michael Myers, Halloween series with only $185M. Not a bad franchise of low budget movies, making a ton of cash for the studios.

AUG 6: X-FISH: X-Men's Wolverine, Hugh Jackman, has signed on to play Vinny in the Travolta actioner 'Swordfish'. Vinny is a recently paroled computer hacker persuaded to help the worlds most dangerous spy, 'Travolta', to help him in a heist. Gone in 60 Seconds Dominic Sena will helm the picture, which should be lensing sometime this fall.

AUG 6: Rollerball Fire: There was a small fire on the set of McTeirnan's 'Rollerball' filming in Montreal. Though small, fire fighters still had to be called in to put out the flames, which damaged some as yet unused sets. The Rollerball track was undamaged in the fire.

AUG 6: Apes Talk: Every site is reporting that Helena Bonham Carter has joined the cast of 'Planet of the Apes'. She will play an Ape Princess that is sympathetic to the humans.

AUG 6: Heavy Metal 2000: This horribly matched film and soundtrack, which hit Pay Cables 'Starz' in July, will hit stores nationwide on VHS (pan and scan) and DVD (letterbox) on October 17. If you haven't seen this one yet, save the money and do a rental first. It is NOT a good movie when mixed with the soundtrack.

AUG 6: Trek Writer Moves On: Former  veteran Star Trek scribe Rene Echvarria, who spent last season on CBS' series 'Now and Again' has joined the writing staff of James Cameron's 'Dark Angel'.

AUG 5: Terminator 3: According to Expose Magazine, Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong are also on board for the third film which already has 'Arnold' on board. I had hear that Hamilton had been  contacted about returning, but nothing about Furlong. The only one left is James Cameron, and he is still saying no way. He wants to work on his 'True Lies 2' script. Give me a break... T3 is the one to do.

AUG 5: Jack Is Back: Bruce Campbell's half-hour action/comedy series has been renewed for a second season of 22 episodes this fall. Cleopatra 2525, Jack's lead in series, I haven't heard about. Should get the nod as well since it is part of the Back to Back hour. Alright Bruce. You won't be banging around with Scully in the dark, but you will be swashbuckling every week.

AUG 5: Supernova: This box office flop starring James Spader and Lou Diamond Phillips, Supernova will be available on DVD (and VHS) on Aug 22. Should be plenty of copies on the shelf if your interested. Might be worth the $3.95 rental.

AUG 5: Land of the Lost: The Sid & Croft Saturday morning kids show, 'Land of the Lost' is currently in development for a live action feature film along with 'Sigmond and the Sea Monster'.

AUG 5: Matix 2 done: Well, the script for the second film is. Keannu Reeves has read the script and thinks it is fantastic. Reeves will begin training for the role in NOV with production on the two films set to begin production in the March/ April time frame

AUG 4: Witchblade: The Two-hour pilot (80 minute running time) will air on TNT  on Aug 27 of this year. Early reviews of the TV Movie have been excellent so far. Cast and Crew are hoping for a birth into a weekly television series possibly in 2k1.

AUG 4: Thing vs Scooby: 'Big Momma's House' director, Raga Gosnell, is being offered 2 big budget jobs from two studios. Fox is offering up the Fantastic Four Picture with a production date as early as the end of this year. Warner Bros. is offering the director the helm of the live action 'Scooby Doo' feature. (comics2film). Personally I would stay the hell away from the Scooby project. Likely will be a dud. (i.e. dudley do right, & Rocky and Bullwinkle, lost in space, wild wild west.) but all previous indications were that the Fantastic Four script would cost $245M make, and FOX wants the budget to stay within the $75M they spent to make 'the X-Men'.

AUG 4: Time Dogs: The Henson Company is pitching a new animated film titled, 'Time Dogs'. The concept and script are by Laura Harkcom and Chris Leone. Henson would like to turn this into a franchise.

Los Angeles attorney Anthony Kornarens of Kornarens & Howard said Monday that TV writer Linda Lukens has asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to block the TV series from airing in Sept unless she is given a 'Created By' credit.     Kornarens said the upcoming Firewords sereis originated from a script and treatment, also titled 'Queen of Swords,' written by Lukens. "Lukens has written a script in 1977 that had been sold to ABC, and the rights reverted back to herk," Kornarens said. "In the late 1990's she sold the script again. Our belief is the script made its way to Fireworks and Paramount and they incorporated the idea of a super action heroine (into their own series)." The hearing on the preliminary injunction is set for Aug. 30. (hollywood reporter)

AUG 3: DTV Update: As previously reported, Subscribers getting the $2 per month increase will be 8.7M families/people. That is only a mere $17.4M per month or $2.088B per year.
