DEC 31:
Thanks: 2000 is nearly gone and I would like to
thank all the visitors who have spent some time on the site this year. My
first full year has been great. With today to go the site is right near
149,500 total hits over the last 12 months. Thank you all so much for a
great year.
DEC 31: C.H.U.D.:
The great 'B' flick starring Daniel
Stern will be released early next year with a srp of $24.95. DVD Planet is
pre-ordering the DVD at $17.95. It will be widescreen but with mono
sound. Got have this one from Anchor Bay.
DEC 31: Pretender

the 60 second commercial, in Quicktime, for the new TNT TV Feature then 'Click
Here' to head on over to the TNT/Pretender area. All of the original
cast is returning for the new movie. P2001 continues where the series left
off. This movie will set the tone for a follow-up movie later in 2001 as

along, deleted scenes, and more. The DVD's srp will be $29.99. (the
Digital Bits)
DEC 31: See
Ya Dreamcast: The Asian Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sega is bowing out of the
console market. The company has lost money in each of the last four years,
all because of its hardware pursuits. Sega denies the report, but it
doesn't make the statement untrue. After all, Sega still has a ton of 'Dreamcast'
consoles on the shelves and it would help stagnant sales to announce that
the system will be orphaned. Having a superior product doesn't mean you
will succeed. Look at Atari and 3DO. Both had better systems than Nintendo
and Sega in the 8 & 16 bit days. They both failed.
DEC 31: Space
1999: The new DVD's for Space 1999 aren't seasonal boxed sets, but
each disc will contain 6 episodes @ $39.99 each. Not what we were hoping
for. A four-disc season would cost $160.oo. Quite a bit for an old series
like this. The first disc is due 1.30.01.
DEC 31: Amazon
Heat: Amazon.com is getting some heat from writers and publishers
who are upset at their new used book purchasing idea. They fear it will
hurt new book sales and take money out of their pockets. Have you noticed
how much a friggin' new book costs these days. Between $6 & $10 now.
Way to much money! Writers should complain, since they don't get paid
enough to begin with.
DEC 30: Doherty
Arrested: Charmed star Shannon Doherty has been busted like so many other stars for
'Drunk Driving'. Must be a Hollywood thing. She was taken to jail for a
blood alcohol test and released several hours later and told to report to
court on January 26. Doherty chose to have blood drawn rather than do a
breath-alyzer test.
DEC 30: In
Living Color: Fox will air a six-hour marathon of its old series
'In Living Color' during the superbowl in case fans get tired of the game.
TBS will be airing shows geared towards women not interested in watching
the game. Hey, it's the Super Bowl Dammit!
DEC 30: Columbo:
The half-blind detective idiot savant 'Columbo' is making a move by having
his reruns picked up by A&E. The $4.4M as part of a 5 year deal for
the most recent 25 two-hour movies. Two of them are as yet to be made TV
Movies that will be done in the next year or so. "Ah, just one more
question if I may sir."
DEC 30: X-Men
Casting: Be careful what rumors you are listening to regarding 'X-Men 2' casting.
At least until director 'Bryan Singer' is officially on board for the
project, and he hasn't signed on yet. Once that is done, you might start
getting some legitimate rumors about who will play the Beast, and who
might be joining the cast. So no, the Rock has NOT been signed to the
cast.
DEC 30: Nights
Script: Doesn't really matter now what
M. Night Shyamalan's next project is... it isn't Indiana Jones 4. So who cares.
DEC 30: Apes
Images: If you want to see some new images
of Mark Wahlberg's crashed spaceship then head on over to Coming
Attractions. The have some great photos from the sets.
DEC 29: STMP:
Robert Wise, director of 'Star Trek: The
Motion Picture' told Cinefantastique Magazine that the script he had to

was forced to begin filming before the script rewrite was completed.
And he did not enjoy working with the special effects from Robert Abel and
Associates.
DEC 29: S.W. Holiday
Special: This rare, hard to find
special was never released on video. But fans take note. You can download
this special from the web via Real Video at the website 'Blue
Harvest'. (t'bones star wars universe)
DEC 29: Dark
Angel: While the series has been a pleasant surprise for FOX this season, it is
still unknown if the series will be picked up for a second season. With
ratings in the mid 6's it is seems... unlikely that FOX will, based on the
extreme cost of producing the series.
DEC 29: Dinosaur:
Internationally
the animated feature Dinosaur has been raking in the dino-bucks with a
gross of $163M. With its U.S. release making $137M the film has made over
$300M for Disney.
DEC 29: Monkey
Wards: Actually it's 'Montgomery Wards, and this isn't genre stuff. But after 128
years it deserves a fond farewell. Wards is closing its doors and shutting
down business. At least 28,000 people around the United States will be
looking for work.
DEC 29: Spielberg

citizens,'' Spielberg spokesman Marvin Levy said, adding that the director
was ``enormously honored and humbled.''
DEC 29: Dracula
Selected: The original 1931 Universal classic 'Dracula' has been
added to the list of 'the National Film Registry'. With the other films
selected this year the total of films on the registry comes to 300.
DEC 29: Park is
In: IGN FilmForce is reporting that Ray
Park officially signed on to star in the feature film based on the comic
book, 'Iron Fist'. There was a big thing about it being rumored he would
star. Who else would they get for what they had to spend. He is the
cheapest qualified semi-star for the part, who will do it for what they
have to spend on the role. Not like Jet Li would get the role for $15M.
Ray Park is perfect for the role. The script is not yet
written.
DEC 29: Bloodquest:
Exile Films, who is working on the
Games-workshops Warhammer 40K animated feature, is looking for extras.
Fans chosen will have their upper torso scanned for the animated film. If
you would make a good Space Marine or Ock maybe, then email them at...
starsearch@exile-films.com
DEC 27: Milano:
Charmed star Alyssa Milano, who with her mother, have been attacking sites
with nude celebrities images on them told FHM magazine that "You can
look at a naked body and to me there is something natural and
beautiful." That is why Milano says she does her gardening topless. "I'll be in my
garden, you know, just being natural." Better make sure you take out those
rose bushes.
DEC 27:
Die Hard 4: Bruce Willis has said he is ready to do a 'Die Hard 4' as long as the

The series starring
Michael Pare is already airing in Canada on the Movie Network, and
Alliance Atlantis is planning to pitch the new series this fall for
syndication. Star Hunter portrays a dangerous frontier where there aren't many rules,
and few to enforce the ones that are. Set in 2275 A.D., bounty hunter
Dante Montana (Michael Paré - The Virgin Suicides) and his small crew, consisting of security officer Lucretia 'Luc' Scott (Claudette Roche - Free of Eden) and Dante's niece Percy (Tanya Allen -
Regeneration), take their aging hunter ship, the Tulip, out on dangerous intergalactic
missions to track down and capture interplanetary criminals. This series is not to be confused with the proposed series starring Adrian
Paul as an intergalactic Bounty Hunter.
DEC 27: Mulgrew
Speaks: Voyager's Captain Janeway has given another interview, this time to the
UK's Star Trek Monthly. Well... who really cares what Mulgrew thinks about
how Voyager should end. It's nothing more than a pipe dream, just like we,
the real fans, really want and won't get. So... Fuck it!
DEC 27: Pretender

A.E.', director Hironobu Sakaguchi is already planning to start a sequel

to get done with the all CGI film, the producer believes that the sequel
would be done in only 2/3rds the time since all the technology for the
first film has been worked out.
DEC 27: Barty
Dies: Billy Barty died on the 23rd of December out in his hometown of Los Angeles after appearing in
motion pictures throughout 7 decades. A giant of the entertainment world at only 3’9” tall, Billy Barty

them looked up To him. Barty played in such genre films as
'Legend', 'Heman and the Masters of the Unvierse', and 'Willow'.

There is no word on who is writing the first or second film scripts.

last 2001 release. Likely depends on the strike though. (hollywood
reporter)

DEC 26: Bluelight.com:
On the misc.
internet side of things, K-Mart has announced that its internet sales are
up this year over 1000% since changing from kmart.com. Hey, eveyone jokes
about the bluelight special. K-Mart did not release its actual sales
figures.
DEC 26: Dracula
2000: Looks like many might be agreeing with me that they are
killing the stock vampire theme, unlike 'Blade', as Wes Craven's 'Dracula
2000' opened the three day weekend with a mere $6.5M take at the box
office.
DEC 25: L.A.Times
$$$: Despite
a decrease in circulation numbers again, the L.A. Times has informed
Hollywood that AD space in the paper will be increasing by 9% in 2001.
Universal alone spent nearly $8M in 2000 taking out full color page ads in
the New York & L.A. Times newspapers. The studios are now
talking about pulling their ads from the papers and seeing who has more
power. There studies have shown that for genre features TV & Radio are
better. Fourteen year old audiences do NOT read the newspapers. (inside.com)
DEC 25: Fox
Family: Principal Owner Haim Saban has exercised a buyout clause
that will force News Corp to purchase the Fox Family Channel if both banks

Channel with Season 3 of First Wave, new episodes of The Invisible Man (at
least 4 thru Jan.), and a new season of L.E.X.X. New stuff begins Fridays
too, with the premiere of Black Scorpion, the four part season finale of 'Farscape'
and the new Secret Adventures of Jules Verne. Hey, January should be good
with all the new stuff we have from the SFC.
DEC 25: Cleo
Dead Again?:
Well, it looks like Cleopatra 2525 may be dead after all, despite being
the replacement series for Xena. Several one hour episodes have been
filmed and are due to begin airing in late January, early February.
DEC 24: Dungeon
Money:
Dungeons & Dragons has taken in just $12M since its release and has
fallen to number ten going into the holiday weekend. Doesn't look like we
will be getting the sequels to this film. A film that may do better on
video than it did at the box office is priced correctly. I hope more of
you take a chance and go see this film on the big screen.
DEC 24: Fox
Crouching: The Fox Network has paid $10M for broadcast rights to the new
'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'. Hey, its a love story, in martial arts
clothing.
DEC 24: UPN
& MTV: Joining UPN's claymation half-hour series 'Gary & Mike' will be the
MTV claymation series 'Deathmatch'. UPN will air first season reruns of
Deathmatch with the premiere of Gary and Mike through the end of the
season and possible pick up the series for next season with new episodes.
Gee, we get this instead of 'Freedom' from Joel Silver Production. Aren't
we lucky.
DEC 24: The
Apprentice: The new Warner Brothers action-thriller 'The Apprentice' has picked up
Stigmata director Rupert Wainwright to helm the project. So far, none of
the casting has been completed. The story is about a young aimless man
recruited by the CIA. He then learns that his supervisor & mentor is
responsible for the death of his entire family.
DEC 24: Resident
Evil: Girlfight
star Michelle Rodriguez is in negotiations to star in the feature film
based on the video game, 'Resident Evil'. The project will be directed by
Paul Anderson from his own script for Constantin Film. Milla Jovovich has been cast in the film as Alice the Zombie Killer.
The film has a mediocre budget of just $40M. Since this film is based on a
video game instead of a role playing game, maybe you will like this one.
DEC 24: Campbell
Busy:
Bruce Campbell who will get a bit part in Spiderman remains busy despite
the stupid cancellation of his series, 'Jack of all Trades'. He will also
have parts in Mandalay Pictures 'Servicing Sarah' for director Reginald
Hudlin, and a part with money maker Jim Carrey in Castle Rock's 'Bijou'.
Bruce Campbell has once been a strong contender for Robert Patrick's new
role in the 'X-Files'. Campbell is a huge 'B' movie star with a monster
following of fans.
DEC 24: Cyber
Squash: Cybersquatter Harper Stevens was ordered to immediately
relinquish rights to several Harry Potter titles which he bought after
Warner Brothers announced they would be making the first book into a
feature film. Harper Steven of California has registered several hundred
such names in hopes of selling them back for money. Something that is
extremely frowned on, as it should be. If your using it constructively
then that is another matter.
DEC 24: Internet
Sales Tax: A coalition of U.S. states voted unanimously on Friday to approve a plan to
simplify their sales tax codes, with an eye toward eventually capturing revenue from Internet and catalog sales.
With three states not present, member states of the Streamlined Sales Tax Project voted 26-0 to send their plan on to state legislatures in hopes that
some will pass it into law in the 2001 legislative session. The plan calls for states to simplify their tax codes to make it easier to collect revenues from Internet and
catalog sales, which are estimated at $600 billion and expected to grow exponentially in the next few years.
States are currently prohibited from collecting taxes from businesses outside their jurisdiction by a 1992
Supreme Court ruling and by Congress' three-year moratorium on new Internet taxes, which is set to expire in
October 2001. What a bunch of greedy fuckers! Where's my cut. This could
seriously hurt the internet in a few years.
DEC 23:
Lazarus: The
fourth installment of the Crow Series titled, 'The Crow: Lazarus'. The
script by James Gibson will be helmed by music video director 'Joseph
Kahn'. Rap artist DMX will play the lead role in the film. The film is

reporter)
DEC 23: Bloodhunt:
The Blade sequel has picked
up 'Beauty and the Beast' star Ron Perlman for an unknown part in the
picture along with singer Luke Gross. Both are reported likely to play
part of the 'Bloodpack'. The vampire gang Blade is forced to work with to
defeat a greater evil. (Time for a 'Beauty and the Beast' TV Mini-Series)
DEC 23: FOX
Gets It !!!: Warner Brothers has been successful with DVD Boxed
Sets of 'the Sapranos', 'The X-Files' and 'Sex In The City' that they are
prepping future releases of seasonal boxed set for the original 'M.A.S.H.',
'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', and 'the Simpsons'. Also on the slat is 'Millenium'.
Many others are planned in the future. Hopefully that will include 'Space
Above & Beyond', 'Mantis', 'Harsh Realm' and other short lived series from
Fox.
DEC 23: More
Boxed Sets!!!:
MGM is planning to release seasonal boxed sets of
'Stargate SG-1' on DVD.
DEC 23: Grinch
#1: How the Grinch Stole Christmas isn't number one at the box
office anymore, but in just over 23 days the film has become this years
all time money maker surpassing 'Mission Impossible 2'.
DEC 23: A&E
Getting It Too!!!: A&E is planning whole runs of older series
to DVD, like 'Space 1999', 'the Prisoner', 'the Avengers', ' Monty
Python's the flying Circus' and the 'the Thunderbirds which have been
digitally enhanced.' (already available at Costco/Price Costco) (the
Digital Bits)
DEC 23:
Star Trek TMP: The new DVD release of the Star Trek: Special
Edition with new digital graphics and a new looking Enterprise, along with
a re-edit of the film will hit stores in January 2001. The actual release
date is 1.7.01. Get it... NCC 1701? Oh well. This is a DVD to buy.
Above is the new enterprise from the S.E. version.
DEC 23: Spiderman:
As everyone expected, Director Sam Raimi has hired his very good friend, B
Movie star, Bruce Campbell. He will play a ring announcer for a bout
between Peter Parker and a wrestler. Should have given him a bigger part.
like a villain.
DEC 23: Carrey
Goes Global: Grinch star Jim Carrey has been nominated for Best
Actor in the 'Golden Globe' Awards.
DEC 23: Site
News: Just added some new banners to the link to us page. They look

HERE to check out the page.
DEC 23: Iron
Fist:
Word is that X-Men's Toad, 'Ray Park' may sign on to star as 'Iron Fist'
within the next month. He would be great for the part. Yunno, Iron Fist
isn't likely to wear the green & yellow costume from the comics.
DEC 23: We
Ain't Smart: Americans must have shown the studios we aren't very
smart. In overseas Region 2 the series 'Friends' is almost entirely out on
DVD. Here in the states we are getting the release of a two DVD set with four half-hour
episodes on them. When will we learn? Don't buy it and these saps in
Hollywood might start to listen to what we want. (seasonal boxed
sets)
DEC 23:
It's a Wrap: As Christmas approaches so does the end of principal
photography for the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. The wrap party for nearly
3000 people took place last night, Dec 22. The party cost over
$100,000.
DEC 23: Prime:
With the success of the X-Men, Universal is hot for the Marvel Character
'Prime'. This project has been floating around for a while at Universal.
Chuck Gordon will produce and the script is being handled by Toy Story 2
scribes, Chris Webb and Doug Chamberlain. (comics
2 Film)
DEC 20: No
Li: Well, it looks official that 'Jet Li' is out for the two
'MATRIX' sequels. Word has that Li was offered $3M for the 11 month gig of
filming two features. Li was asking for $13M to do the two films. Michelle
Yeoh of 'Crouching Tiger' is now being sought after to take the role Li
will not be taking on.
DEC 20: Daredevil:
The first script
has been completed by scribe Steven Johnson. It said that the script
features villains 'Kingpin', 'Electra', and 'Bullseye'. Marvel Studios

It appears that director Rinny Harlan will be teaming with Pierce Brosnan
in a feature based on a Ray Bradbury short story. The project is titled 'A
Sound of Thunder'. Franchise pictures plans are to get the project
underway by early 2001 before the strike. (hollywood reporter)
DEC 20: Arac
Attack:
The new feature in preproduction about a giant killer spider, is adding
sliders Kari Wuhrer to the cast. She will play the sheriff in the ravaged
by the Spider. Arac Attack is from Centropolis Entertainment and Village
Roadshow Pictures. David Arquette will play the lead role. Remember folks,
this is a sci-fi, comedy thriller.
DEC 19: Lee Media
Down: Stan Lee Media has closed it
doors and laid off its nearly 140 employees. Some of the execs will be
staying on to explore new financial opportunities. It is now unknown about
the status of '7th Portal' or 'Conan' feature film. Stan Lee Media dropped
below $1 on the stock market.
DEC 19: FF4
Director?: Ain't
It Cool.com is reporting a RUMOR that the Fantastic Four feature film
may now have a director. A comic freek named Payton Reed (Bring It On).
Anything is better than previous reports that Raja Gosnell would be
directing. Thank goodness he is doing 'Scooby Doo'. Ain't It Cool will
report more on the Rumor as it becomes official.
DEC 19: 7 of
9: Jeri Ryan told the official star trek
website that as Voyager nears its end, her character Seven of Nine might
become more of a tragic figure near seasons end.
DEC 19: Asshole
Alert!!!: Essex County, N.J., officials have denied the award-winning HBO series The Sopranos a
permit to film scenes on county-owned property, citing noise and safety concerns. County
Executive James Treffinger took the rejection a step farther Saturday, saying he would never
grant a permit for the series. "I have no intention of granting a permit for our
taxpayer-owned facilities for a profit-making enterprise which depicts an ethnic group
in stereotypical fashion," Treffinger said.
DEC 19: Connery as
Bond: In a recent interview with
Cindy Pearlman of Cinescape Sean Connery told her there is no way he will
be playing a 007 bad guy. He also added jokingly that they couldn't afford
him.
DEC 19: Mega
Apes: Rick Baker is doing the realistic apes for Tim Burton's
remake of 'Planet of the Apes'. He told Entertainment Weekly that with
such a short pre-production time frame he is having a hard time keeping
up. There are hundreds of apes in the film. Actors seeing their costumes
have been saying that they are incredible.
DEC 18: Grinch
Falls: The Grinch broke the $200M mark
easily this weekend, but fell from the number one spot to number 3 behind
Mel Gibson's 'What Women Want' and the stupid 'Dude, Where's My Car'.
DEC 18: Sheena
VHS: Just added 'Sheena'
to the VHS Cover Sheet Area. It is under the current genre
selection. Approx. a 1.2mb download. CLICK
HERE for the current genre area.
DEC 18: Dungeon
Dune: Looks like movie goers have
cooked up a Dragon Flop. Dungeons & Dragons was down to number 9 at
the box office and took in only $2.2M over the weekend, bringing its ten
day total to just over $10M.
DEC 18: Dune: Extended
Version: As I reported last
month I believe, the Extended Version of Dune, that was originally only
available in a Japanese Laserdisc Boxed set is indeed available on DVD. In
Japan it is NTSC and Europe it is in PAL. However the DVD is only in
Region 2 format. In an email from 'the
Digital Bits' There are at present no plans from Universal for a U.S.
release of the disc. ( Bill Hunt, Digital Bits)
DEC 17: Dungeon
Reviews: I find it amazing at some of the poor reviews given to the
new fantasy picture. With movies getting budgeted for nearly $100M and
flopping at the box office, this picture cost a mere $20M to create. We
are talking flops like Mission to Mars, the 13th Warrior, the 13th Floor,
Battlefield Earth. Dungeons & Dragons is a fun $20M 'B' picture that
promises nothing more than that. Yet fans and upstart critics have little
toleration for anything anymore. What a shame. D&D went into Friday
have made $8.7M through its first week.
DEC 17: States
Greedy: In misc. news, Tech TV is reporting that at least 30 states will attempt to
simplify their sales tax codes next year with an eye toward eventually capturing revenue from Internet sales,
a key state legislator said Friday. At issue is the $488.7 billion in goods and services that Forrester Research
estimates were sold on the Internet this year. What a bunch
of greedy fucking bastards every state is. Oh, look at all that money,
where is my cut. Fuck them.
DEC 17: DUNE
DVD: Digital Bits is
reporting that the upcoming Artisan DVD of the 'Dune: Mini-Series' in
March will be the international cut. That means scenes that were not seen
in the U.S. due to commercial restrictions. And we all know how the Sci-Fi
Channel is about commercial breaks. Makes getting the DVD a bigger
possibility if it is price right.
DEC 17: Cherry
2000: The Sci-Fi 'B' feature 'Cherry 2000' looks scheduled to hit
the DVD stores in February 2001. Unlikely to have any extras.
DEC 17: Gateway:
For anyone out there willing to waste money on a 'Gateway' might be happy
to learn that the overpriced computer manufacturer will be selling their
products directly from the 'Gateway Country' stores through Christmas Eve.
Why not? It should be this way all the time. Glad to see their company
suffer some with lagging sales. People may be getting tired of getting
ripped off for overpriced computers.
DEC 17: NVidia
deals: Computer graphics chipmaker 3DFX Interactive announced Friday that it has agreed to dissolve the
company and sell most of its assets to NVidia in a cash and stock deal valued at $112 million.
The deal will signal the end of pending patent litigation between the two companies.
DEC 16: Saturday
Update: How many other sites give you an update on the
weekend. Not many that is for sure. 8 out of ten times this one does.
Welcome to a BIG UPDATE!!!
DEC 16: Freakylinks: This horrible series isn't dead
yet folks. Believe it or not, Fox will bring the series back January 5 for
a second try. That's a Friday Night and at 9pm. Now, are you going to
watch this crappy show, or tune into the Sci-Fi Channel at 9pm for
Farscape as it begins airing its four part season finale? Shit, Black
Scorpion will be airing at 8pm and the Secret Adventures of Jules Verne
will be airing after Farcape. I know what channel I'll be watching.
DEC 16: Fridays:
As above here is the Sci-Fi Channels
'Prime Friday' line-up beginning January 5. 8pm - Black Scorpion, 9pm -
Farscape, 10pm - Secret Adventures of Jules Verne. ( nice night for scifi)
DEC 16: Movies
to Watch: Hey, looking for weekend movie you haven't seen in a
while. Or haven't seen at all. Check out the UNDERRATED
MOVIES area for something unique to watch. Lots of great movies there.
Action and Sci-Fi abound.
DEC 16: Monday
Prime:
Hey, Mondays have gotten great
beginning January 7 on the Sci-Fi Channel. Here is the new 'Prime Monday'
line-up. 8pm - First Wave (season 3), 9pm - The Invisilbe Man (new first
season episodes), 10pm - L.E.X.X. ( new season) ( this is a better
night for scifi)
DEC 16: The Hits are
Rolling:
The web site has been
averaging over 100 unique hits per day for the last five days. Thanks
everyone. The site has over 7000 hits this month already. I Love You
Man!!! ( for the year to day in total hits, SCIFI2K.COM, over 1.2M page
hits and 84K unique hits. That's incredible folks. I appreciate it. Thank
you all.
DEC 16: Mysterious
Ways:
The NBC Fantasy Series
'Mysterious Ways' will return January 1st at 8pm.
DEC 16: On the
Head: Please Read the Ron Moore
interview quotes at SCIFI.com. Moore
hits the Star Trek problem right on the head. Nicely done Mr. Moore.
DEC 16: Oh
No Robo:
Well, I still haven't heard of an air date, or network for the 8 hour
mini-series from Julian Grant. If your interested in finding out about the
Robocop Mini-Series or have more news than me, please share. CLICK
HERE for what I have.
DEC 16: Dark
Angel: Well, Dark Angel has final into the 6 rating with a recent 6.8 rating.
Hopefully the series will settle in this range, and FOX will be able to
keep this expensive series on the air.
DEC 16: Ep
2 Reshoot: Cast and Crew will be heading to Fox Studios in
Australia in March 2000. There may be even more shooting later in
the year if need be. Very uncommon, but that word is always true with
George. No one else like him.
DEC 16: Dark
Horizon Down: The Dark Horizon website, a key to the latest movie
news breaks is currently down until further notice. It is still up and
will remain so, but there will be no updates until further notice. Hmmmmm...
DEC 16: Dungeon
Anyone?:
I sure hope more of you will get out there this weekend and take a watch
of the new 'Dungeons & Dragons' movie from Courtney Solomon. This is a
truly decent movie worth a go see. If you played the Gary Gygax role
playing game, then you have to see it. The special effects on the dragons
looks just like those in the 'Dragon' magazine. SEE IT!
DEC 16: A
Stern Contract: Hey everyone, Howard Stern has said
Friday, that he has signed a five year deal to continue his radio talk
show with Infinity Broadcasting. Stern's radio talk show is broadcast on
over 50 radio stations across the United States.
DEC 16: Viacom/CBS: The long awaited deal
which will merge the two monster companies will be completed in January
2001. AOL/Time Warner will be next up after that.
DEC 16: Jolie
Stunts: There
are reports on all the sites about Jolie's father worried about the stunts
his daughter was doing for the new action flick based on the game with the
same name, 'Tomb Raider'. Hey, who gives a shit if he's worried or not.
It's what she gets paid the bucks for. Sounds more like the media looking
for some kind of story. Anyone of you out there who wouldn't do the stunts
for that kind of money? Anyone have a dad who wouldn't worry if you were
doing the stunts? So... where's the story?
DEC 16: New
Network:
Not really a new network, but remember, UPN will be gone as of January
1st. It will be replaced as 'The Paramount Network'. They reportedly have
all new logos and commercials ready to go. I recently spoke with my local
UPN affiliate here in Las Vegas and was told that the network will be
around in 2k1 and beyond. New logos may be along the lines of the image
above.
DEC 16: Silver
Strike Two: Joel Silver's Production company is oh for two on UPN
in back to back seasons. First was the 8 episode run or 'the Strip' and
now this years short lived series of 6 episodes for 'Freedom'. (13
episodes were done though).
DEC 15: EFC
Renewed: Gene Roddenberry's Earth: Final Conflict has been renewed
for a fifth season in syndication. ( scifi wire) Wonder how many regulars
will get canned before season five, as they have in seasons past.
DEC 15: Sight
Set: FX's paranormal thriller 'the Sight' has been picked up as a
weekly series. Andrew McCarthy and Amanda Redman will star in the series.
Redman is already signed for five years. UK's Sky and Warner Bro. are
teaming up for the series. (sfx online)
DEC 15: F5:
Paramount has picked up an option for an action flick based on the comic
book 'F5'. The pitch was made by Tim and Dave Douglas, who will also be
writing the script for the film. The comic series 'F5' was created by Tony
Daniels.
DEC 15: Farscape
Ripoff: While it is great that the new DVD release will have
footage not scene in the US and other little extras, the fucking DVD price
is a whopping $24.95 for just two episodes. ( $18.95 for VHS) That's $275
plus tax for one complete season on DVD. Boy, what a deal. What is worse,
is that people are dumb enough to pay for these. Don't buy them and we
might get boxed sets. No wonder people are recording their own sets.
DEC 15: Dr.
Who: Big Finish, a British company who produce the VHS Cassettes,
will be stopping production of the cassettes due to dropping sales. The
Dr. Who series will only be available, and continued, on DVD. They
apologize to all the fans who prefer the cassette format. The first 15
episodes currently available on VHS will remain so until supplies run out.
This is another reason for seasonal or series boxed sets. So many fans get
fucked over when this kind of stuff happens. Columbia House does it all
the time.
DEC 13: Exit
Wounds: The Joel Silver/Warner Brothers & Steven
Seagal actioner is due out at theatres soon. Silver has been a great
producer in the past few years recreating actors careers. He is hoping to
do the same with Seagal who has dumped the pony-tail and lost about 45lbs.
Silver seems really excited about this film, which also costars rapper DMX.
DEC 13: Batman
Beyond 2: Paul Dini who wrote the first troubled 'Batman Beyond' is
currently working on an outline for a second Beyond film that would be
direct to video. Warner Brothers is eager to look at the story and
screenplay. They have not however made any commitment to a second
film. (Eon Magazine)
DEC 13: Spiderman:
A Sony
representative told Ted Casablanca, E online gossip columnist, that the
rumors that they are unhappy with David Koepp's screenplay is entirely
untrue. They are very happy with the screenplay they are using.
DEC 13: Demon
Hand: According to Harlan Ellison's website 'Ellison Webderland' he
is collaborating with Pitch Black filmmaker David Twohy on a feature film
titled 'Demon With A Glass Hand'. It is a feature based on Ellison's
original Outer Limits episode of the same name being developed by
Dimension Films. That was a great episode.
DEC 13: Alex
the Great: Variety is reporting that 'Alexander the Great' will
begin production with director Christopher McQuarrie at the helm after the
writer and actors strike is over with. The budget for the film is schedule
to be about $85M.
DEC 13: MIB
2 Breakdown:
Sony has agreed to share over 50% of the films gross with its cast. While
budgeted at around $200M, Will Smith will get 20%, Tommy Lee Jones 12.5%,
Sonnenfeld 10%, Producers 5%, and Steven Spielberg ( who will have no
actual involvement to the film ) 7.5%.
DEC 13: Mary
Jane: Looks like the role of Mary Jane in the upcoming Spiderman
picture from Sam Raimi will be going to Mena Suvari. Nothing has been made
official yet on her casting for the part.
DEC 12: More
Vampires: Columbia Pictures has snagged the rights to Whitly
Streiber's new book 'the Last Vampire'. The story is about a beautiful
(imagine that) vampire on the run from the CIA. The book is scheduled to
bite stores in 2001. They never get tired of Vampire movies, do they?
DEC 12: Chasing
Primetime: Chevy Chase (Invisible Man) is teaming with the Murphy Brown producers for
his first try into a television primetime slot. (creative planet)
DEC 12: Syndication
Alliance: NBC is teaming with Garnett Broadcasting and Hearst-Argyle Television to
create a 'Syndication Alliance' for the reason of developing and owning
programs together. Through their pact any show greenlighted would be
automatically cleared for 60% of the country. ( daily variety )
DEC 12: Furlong
Cleared: Terminator 3 star 'Edward Furlong' has complete a month long stay at the
$1000 a day, drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, Promises
Malibu. Furlong said he was drinking and partying way to much. (ap &
weekly magazine)
DEC 12: Witchright
Hall: The new series from Fox, a spinoff from Friday nights 'Sabrina', has begun
production. There is no official air date for the series. (hollywood
exclusive)
DEC 11: New
Invisible: Get
your VCRs primed and ready as the Sci-Fi Channel will air new episodes of
the 'Invisible Man' in January 2001. Invisible Man also moves from it
Friday Night Prime slot to Mondays as part of the new 'Monday Night Prime'
with new shows 'Black Scorpion' and 'the Secret Adventures of Jules
Verne'. Should be a great Monday night on Sci-Fi.
DEC 11: Dungeon
Money: Courtney Solomon's weekend seems kind of bright as his $20M feature
'Dungeons & Dragons' took in $7M in its opening weekend. Make sure you
see this one. Worth the watch.
DEC 11: Dune
Cover: If you
recorded the Sci-Fi Channel's 'Dune: Mini-Series' then you might like to
download the Dune: Mini-Series cover sheet created by Tim Freeman. Click
Here for the Special Editions Cover Sheet area.
DEC 11: Who's
Gone?: So far only two shows have been cancelled and two are
ending. Voyager and Xena are calling it quits, while Freaky Links and
Freedom have gone by the waste side. Most of the syndicated shows that are
doomed likely will not get their pink slips until the end of the season.
On the bubble... that would be UPN's 'Level 9'. Level 9 could get the axe
in the near future to make room for 'All Souls' from who else but Aaron
Spelling.
DEC 11: Rich
Grinch: The Jim Carrey 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' continues
to remain at the number one spot while taking in $195.5M in just 24 days.
DEC 11: Farscape:
The second season finally comes to a close as the last four episodes air
in the month of January as it did last year. The third season begins
airing in March 2001. This is an interesting series and hopefully YOU are
watching. My favorite is 'First Wave', but this is an extremely quality
show
DEC 11: NBC
Flakes Out: So far, NBC still has no genre concept shows in work
for its 2001 line-up. They had none for 2000 either. They have expressed
interest in getting the new 'Star Trek' series in development at
Paramount.
DEC 10: Tomb
Raider: Tomb Raider previews are showing with the Dungeons &
Dragons feature. The movie looked outstanding for what might lie a head
for this coming summer. Jolie looks fit for the part for sure.
DEC 10: Black
Scorpion: Adam West of the famed comedy 'Batman' appears in the new Sci-Fi Channel
series 'Black Scorpion' as a villain. He will play Dr. Noah Goddard, a onetime top cardiopulmonary surgeon who suffers
brain damage from a gunshot wound and who now spends his days plotting ways to asphyxiate the city
with a hallucinatory gas, TV Guide reported. Black Scorpion begins airing
on the Sci-Fi Channel January 5th.
DEC 10: New
Shows: There
are a slew of new shows looking to be on the air in 2001. Check out 'Channel
News' to view all the new series in development for next year. Some
will premiere in January on the Sci-Fi Channel while others in the fall.
DEC 10: Jeri
Ryan:
The star of Voyager, Jeri Ryan, told the UNLV Rebel Yell paper that she
hopes that her role in the upcoming 'Dracula 2000' will break her out of
the role as Seven. A role she fears she has been locked into. Just don't
give up the make-up Jeri.
DEC 10: The
Mummy Rocks: Previews of the new 'Mummy Returns' look outstanding also. The Rock should
be awesome as the 'Scorpion King'. Can this one be better than the last?
Sure looks like it will be.
DEC 10: X-Files:
A ninth season looks
probable as the season continues to work it magic and remain the number
one show in the genre as 'the X-Files' scored an 8.2 rating. Without star
Duchovny the show continues to do well and Robert Patrick is doing a great
in his place. He has brought new life to the show.
DEC 10: Dark
Angel: The James
Cameron series continues to be the second best genre series with a rating
of 7.1. Everyone seems worried that the series rating continue to drop
each week. When the series did premiered with higher ratings I did say the
ratings would settle in the mid to low 6's. Likely in the same range as
the Pretender, Profiler, and Early Edition had. The thing is, will those
ratings be high enough for renewal. It is an expensive series to do.
DEC 9: No
Freedom: UPN
has officially axed the new series only six episodes into the season. The
network will leave the show in its schedule time slot thru December 29, in
which it will air its 8th and final episode. HOWEVER WBTV will continue
production per the shows contract with UPN and film the full 13 episode
commitment. Level 9 has not yet been cancelled, yet. It appears to
have life just as a partner for the new UPN series 'Gary and Mike' that
premieres in January. Freedoms ratings were are higher than 'Level 9'.
DEC 9: Dragons
Oh My:
Courtney Solomon's $20+M feature
'Dungeons & Dragons' opened Friday night. I thought the film was
fantastic for how much it cost to make. I enjoyed the actors, the story
and the special effects of the film. Read my mini-review of the
Movie.
DEC 9: RIP
Klink: Werner Kempler who played Col. Wilhelm Klink on the comedy
series 'Hogan's Hero's' has died of cancer at the age of 80. He was a
Jewish refugee who fled Germany in the 30's and served in the U.S. Army
from 1942 to 1945. Kempler also received a Tony Nomination for his stage
work in 1988. Rest In Peace.
DEC 9: Dune
Encore: The Sci-Fi Channel will show its first encore presentation of all three
parts from 1pm to 7pm Sunday Dec 10. This show is much better when edited
together with no commercials.
DEC 9: Gary
& Mike: UPN may have had a motive behind their cancellation of
'Freedom' in order to make an air time for the stop motion animated series
'Gary & Mike' which will move into 'Freedom's' 8pm time slot.
DEC 9: Thor:
Comics Continuum is reporting that something is suppose to happen soon
with the new television series 'THOR'.
DEC 9: X-Men
extended: Brian Singer has said there is no truth to the rumor of a
140 minute version of the 'X-Men'. The footage just isn't there he says.
DEC 9: Anyone
Interested?: Arnold has been talking about his upcoming projects
again with 'Empire Online' if anyone cares. Collateral Damage is next for
Arnold and next year he will complete 'True Lies 2' with James Cameron and
'Terminator 3'. If Collateral Damage flops the Swartz may be on his way to
a much lower pay scale.
DEC 8: Evil
Alice: Ain't it cool.com is reporting that
Wes Craven will be directing an evil dark 'Alice In Wonderland' based on
American McGee's 'Alice'. McGee sold the rights to Dimension Films.
The script is due to the studio in January from Charlie's Angels scribe,
John August.
DEC 8: Early
Trek: Long time Trek writer 'Ron Moore'
has told space.com that the rumors he is hearing around the studio that
the new Star Trek series will deal with the 'birth' of the Federation.
DEC 8: Wars Screen
Shots: New photos of 'Star Wars II'
can be seen at StarWars.com. Click
on the link if you would like to visit the site.
DEC 8: Goldberg
Correction: It was pointed out to me by
a fan of the site that during my reports of Goldberg getting a part in the
upcoming 'Incredible Hulk' I stated he was from the WWF, when in fact
Goldberg is part of the WCW. Sorry about that.
DEC 8: New
Batman: Director Darrin
Aronofsky, will be directing the fifth installment of the dragging
franchise. Aronofsky is promising that this one is going to be very
different from previous features. For sure we know that there will be at
least another character in the Batman suit.
DEC 8: Jules
Verne: The new Sci-Fi Channel series 'The Secret Adventures of
Jules Verne' is scheduled to air on the Sci-Fi Channel beginning January
5. Earlier reports were of the series airing in late 2001 as part of a new
'Monday Night Prime'. Black Scorpion is also schedule for a January
Premiere. The new Black Scorpion website is up and running. While a
beautiful site, it was lacking. People tend to be going for unique sites
rather than one getting the information out to the people.
DEC 7: Dragons:
Despite the heavy 'B' movie feel of the new Dungeons & Dragons feature
starting this Friday, there are already two sequels being planned.
Director Courtney Solomon had a trilogy planned from the beginning. Should
the $30M film make around $50M the sequels could get the green
light.
DEC 7: Apes
News: A friend of Charlton Heston has reported to the Ananova News
Service that he would rather not do the cameo, and do something that might
take away from the great work that Tim Burton is doing on the remake of
'Planet of the Apes'.
DEC 7: Indy
IV: Again with the talk. Now M. Night Shymalan says he is still
talking with Spielberg and Harrison Ford about writing the script for the
fourth film. In his last interview about the script he said he only talked
to Spielberg once when he was sick about. Now they are still talking.
Shit, which is it? Are you doing the script or not? It is a simple yes or
no question that the fans deserve an answer to. Every question asked in an
interview with anyone these days gets beat to death before you get a
straight answer. Jeez! Yes I am doing the Indy script, or no I won't be
doing the script.
DEC 6: Black
Scorpion: The Sci-Fi Channel bought series from Roger Corman, which premieres in
January 5, finally has its web site up and running at.... http://www.blackscorpion.net
The 22 episode series is already in the can. It was paid for completely by
Corman to help sell the series. The web site has photos and synopsis of
the first 22 episodes.
DEC 6: Dark
Angel: Despite being picked up for the full
22 episodes this season the show renewal remains in doubt as the series
continues to drop each week in the ratings. The shows just doesn't seem
able to maintain a constant audience.
DEC 6: Mathew
Blackheart: Telescene has backed out of the co-production. If it
makes its debut in 2001 on the Sci-Fi Channel it will be the fall of 2k1
if at all.
DEC 6: New
Enterprise: In a surprising update from CHUD.com's Coyote, The new
DVD release of 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture' Special Edition will
feature totally new special effects and a new CGI USS Enterprise. The
picture above is what the new Enterprise will look like in the Special
Edition. Director Robert Wise was never satisfied with the original film.
The SE DVD will hit stored this summer 2k1.
DEC 6: Ultraman:
Ultraman is getting a feature film. The evil fighting Japanese superhero
feature will be titled 'Ultraman Cosmo: the Fist Contact'.
Production has already started on the project being produced by Tsuburaya Productions,
Shochiku, and Sony Pictures and is scheduled to open in Japan this summer.
(cinescape online)
DEC 6: First
Wave: Season 3 of 'First Wave' begins airing on the Sci-Fi Channel in January.
The series was only guaranteed for 66 episodes. It is unknown whether or
not there will be more after this season. I hope you all are watching this
series... it is a quality show.
DEC 6: Tremors
3: Smilin' Jack Ruby of Fandom.com is reporting that production has
finally begun on 'Tremors 3'.
DEC 6: Gen
13 - TV: If the series should make it into a weekly television
series fans of the Comic Book should not expect the series to be anything
like the comic book. Even the characters are likely to be different.
Producer Courtney Solomon (dungeons & dragons) told EON magazine that
the series had been through several changes over the last year and Disney
has made changes to the project as well. Disney is currently calling the
project... 'Seventh Graders'. Solomon thinks they should have left it more
like the comic book. Disney could fuck up a wet dream.
DEC 6: Frakes
is In?: Star Trek script coordinator Lolita Fatjo told an England
SF convention that Jonathan Frakes, cmdr Riker and director of the last
two films, will indeed direct Trek 10. Filming will likely not begin until
after the strike is settled. Frakes is still non-committal about directing
the tenth film. (dark horizon)
DEC 6:
Dune Kicks!: The first part of the mini-series scored a 4.5
rating for the sci-fi channel. Its highest rated product yet. That's 3.06M
households.
DEC 6: Star
Trek V: The new Star Trek series, which takes place before the
original series, is due to begin casting near the end of this month.
DEC 5: Freedom
& Level 9: Rumor has it that UPN has pretty much given up on its Friday night line-up
of 'Freedom' and 'Level 9'. Their ratings were twice as high just showing
old movies in the same two-hour time block. UPN will not be ordering
anymore episodes of either series.
DEC 5: Xena:
Despite the shows ending
after this season 'Xena' remains in the top syndicated first run series
with only reruns of the X-Files, and Andromeda, and Stargate SG-1. V.I.P.
is not rated in the top 20 but is performing well too.
DEC 5: Uncut
Joker?: It won't be until after the first of the year before Warneer Brothers
decides whether or not they will release an uncut version of the animated
feature 'Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker' (comics2film)
DEC 5:
X-Men Hot!: Over
the Thanksgiving Holiday Marvel's 'X-Men' took in a whopping $70M in
VHS/DVD sales and rentals. Over $12.5M more than expected.
DEC 5: Dudley
Moore Says Good-bye: Comedy actor Dudley Moore, 65, is suffering
from a degenerative brain disorder that is going to kill him. On Monday
during an interview with the star he told everyone good-bye. Moore is best
known for his role in 'Arthur'.
DEC 4: Grinch
$$$: The Grinch
remained number one for the third straight week hitting nearly $172M in
just 17 days. Amazing. It is expected to remain number through next
weekend also.
DEC 4: Dungeons
& Dragons: The so long awaited fantasy picture 'Dungeons &
Dragons' based on the Gary Gygax role playing game, hits theatres on DEC
8, this Friday. The $30M flick is expected to do fairly well. If
successful it could get the green light for two sequels.
DEC 4:
Dune pt2: Part 2 of the Dune mini-series airs tonight on the Sci-Fi Channel at 9pm
ET/PT. Part 3 airs Tuesday night at the same time.
DEC 4: Black
Sheep: Chris Rock has signed to star in the action comedy 'Black
Sheep' for Jerry Bruckenheimer. Rock's twin brother, a government agent is
murdered during an assignment, and Rock is sought after to continue the
assignment. The project is slated to begin production in March 2000.
DEC 4: Absorbing
Man: According to entertainment weekly it appears that 'The Incredible Hulks'
villain in the film will be 'Absorbing Man'. It also makes known that WCW's 'Goldberg' (universal soldier: the return) is being considered for
the Hulk or Absorbing Man. Goldberg would not rate as even a decent
actor. This is likely a picture that shouldn't be made.
DEC 3: Pink
Panther: Mike Myers is pretty much set to star in the MGM remake,
what else is new, of 'the Pink Panther' as Inspector Clouseau. Ivan
Rietman who was going to just produce the film is now in talks to direct
the picture as well.
DEC 3: Woo-ing
Superman: Ain't It Cool.com is reporting a rumor that 'Mission Impossible 2'
director John Woo is in negotiations to direct the Superman feature that
is in development.
DEC 3: Scooby
Doo: Freaks
and Geeks star Linda Cardellini is in negotiations to play Velma in the
upcoming live action mistake to make feature 'Scooby Doo'. (variety) Sarah
Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prince Jr. are also in negotiations for the
roles of Daphne and Freddy while Mathew Lillard (scream) works toward
being Shaggy. The picture is being done by Revolution Studios and Imagine
entertainment.
DEC 3: Instinct
2: Sharon Stone has confirmed that Robert Downy Jr.'s latest drug
infraction has indeed cost the actor a leading role in 'Basic Instinct 2'.
DEC 3: C.S.I.
Hit: The new CBS series
'C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation' is number one among the new series
this fall. Alliance Atlantis is also happy that Touchstone TV backed out
allowing them to step in. The move allowed Atlantis the opportunity to get
back into the prime-time arena. Their last venture was the quirky series
for CBS 'Due South'. C.S.I. airs Friday nights at 9pm after the
disappointing new series 'the Fugitive'.
DEC 3: Rings
Date: New Line Cinema has set a December 19, 2001 release date for
the first 'Lord of the Rings' film. (ringbearer.com) All release dates are
subject to change.
DEC 2: Escape
From New York: Digitalbits.com is reporting that the new 'Escape From
New York' DVD from MGM is just horrible. While rated as a B+ it is even
reviewed as worse than that. If this disc is more than $9.99 don't waste
your money. While it is letterbox the color is reportedly washed out with
heavy grain. What a friggin' pisser, I really liked this picture a lot.
DEC 2: Battlefield
Earth DVD: The release for the less than stellar 'Battlestar Galactica' is said to be
due to Travolta wanting to do a re-edit of the film for the home video
release to make the film better.
DEC 2: Cast
Away: While not a genre film, this looks like a great film. Tom
Hanks lost over 70 pounds to do the film.
DEC 2: Travolta
Tax Trouble: The U.S. tax man came looking for John Travolta who
tried to claim over $2M worth of loss through a fake company. The $20M a
picture actor has agreed to pay around $600K in back taxes. You make that
much cash per picture and you still try not to pay taxes on it. What a
dip-shit.
DEC 2: Level
9 in Trouble:
Friday night movies on UPN were averaging over 3.0. Freedom and Level 9
premiered five weeks ago on UPN and Level 9 is doing worse than Freedom
racking up a dismal 1.5 rating. If the ratings don't improve this could be
another short lived series for UPN. It may create an opening for UPN's mid
season replacement series 'All Souls'. Level 9 is not a bad series.
Hopefully it will get at least a full season to try and find its audience.
DEC 2: Dinotopia
TV: ABC is
planning to take the mini-series into a weekly Dinotopia TV Series of 22
one hour episodes. Not likely until the 2k2 series or possibly a 2k1
replacement series. The mini-series appears headed for a 2k1 schedule.
DEC 2: Farscape
DVD U.S.: Looks like Farscape will hit the shelves on DVD here in the U.S. on
February 6, 2001. And NO, it won't be seasonal boxed sets. Someone else
has fucked up like Warner Brothers and will release them a few episodes
per DVD. Fucking figures.
DEC 2: the
Triangle: TBS has started production of their TV Movie starring Luke Perry titled
'the Triangle' that is said to have spectacular special effects. It is
about a millionaire who wants to learn the secrets of the Bermuda
Triangle. Lewis Teage will direct the picture that also stars Olivia d'Abo
and Dan Cortese.
DEC 2: Dune
Sequel: The Sci-Fi Channel website is reporting that their sequel to the as yet,
unaired Dune mini-series will be based on Herbert's Dune: Messiah and
Children of Dune. The Dune mini-series premieres on the SFC Dec 3-5 at 9pm
et/pt. The DVD is tentatively scheduled for March 2001.
DEC 2: Arnold
falling: With his last two films performing dismally at the box
office it appears that Arnold Swartzenegger could fall out of the $20M per
picture and end up only making $10M to $15M per film. He had better hope
that Terminator 3 is successful. (popcorn.com) If it isn't it might
be time for him to hang up the exo-skeleton and play politics.
DEC 1: Iron
Man Update:
CHUD.com is reporting a rumor that the new Iron Man feature will indeed be
an origin picture. The film is likely to be true to life without all the
superhero and special powers ala the 'X-Men'. It will be a more...
human story. Screenwriter Tim McCanlies is also working hard to get Nick
Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. in near the end of the movie in hopes to start a
franchise for Nick Fury. (CHUD.com)
DEC 1: Mulgrew,
the Bitch: Voyagers Captain Janeway, played by Kate Mulgrew has
more criticism for co-star Robert Beltran. According to Trek Today
in an interview with Mulgrew she was asked about an actors comments
