A second season of 22 episodes has been ordered. The siries ratings have jumped in recent
weeks from 1.9 to 2.3 in syndication. It is shown in 92% fo the stations that New Line
sells to. Lost World is seen in the top 74 of 75 markets. The series website, www.thelostworldtv.com, gets 25000 hits per day.
JAN 31: Under Seige 3: Steven Segal is ready to jump
start his career with a third sequel. If Warner Bros., who financed and distributed the
first two, passes on the project, it will be offered to 20th Century Fox.
JAN 31: the Mummy 2: John Hannah will also be
returning as the comedy relief role he played in the first film as Racheal Weisz'
characters brother.
JAN 31: Bonded for 007: There are rumors that
Pierce Brosnan is in negotiations to sign on for four more 007 films. This would bring his
total bond films to 7. The same number as Roger Moore. Connery had 6. Seven is you could
'Never Say Never'.
JAN 30: ST Voyager: Troi and Barclay will return
again this season in the episode 'I, Zimmerman'. The story is from Robert Beltran
(Chekotay). The doctor is sent back using 'Pathfinder Project' to help save his creator
who is dying.
JAN 30: Sheena: This long anticipated series from the
comic book of the same name has been sold to 92% of the US market in syndication.
JAN 30: Queen of Swords: The near Xena clone, which
will be in syndcation as well, has been picked up by 55% fot he major markets including
S.F., LA, and Minneapolis. The series will star Tessie Santiago, and be produced by Relic
Hunter producer Ira Bernstein.
JAN 30: GvsE: gets a new name as it gets the
new station, th Sci-Fi channel. It's new name is 'Good vs Evil'. It will follow Farscape
and be part of the Friday night prime line-up. Screw First Wave I guess.
JAN 30: Harsh Realm Kickin': If the ratings are
strong on FX for Harsh Realm the show could be brought back into production. Premieres

JAN 29: Witchblade: Begins filming in Toronto mid
Feb. on a 2hr pilot movie with an extreme possibility of becoming a weekly series. It is
being directed by Ralph Hemecker (kindred, x-files, millenium and roar). Casting is not
yet complete.
JAN 29: Invincible: TBS has purchased the 2-hour
pilot 'Invincible' starring martial arts star Jet Li. It is being co-produced by Mel
Gibson's Icon Productions. If the pilot is successful it would launch a weekly series.
JAN 29: Batman Rumor The London Daily has
reported that director Richard Donner will helm the next BATMAN feature for Warner
Bros. They also report that after deciding not to pursue Kurt Russel, Mel Gibson has
agreed to don the mask. Filming will be done in Mel's backyard, Australia this time. Jack
Nicholson is said to be returning as the... Joker in the fifth installment.

JAN 29: Beastmaster: The new series has been ordered
for the full 22 episodes to complete the first season.
JAN 29: Sliders Movie: Co-creator Robert Weiss thinks
pre-production might begin by the end of 2K.

JAN 28: Hercules Again: There some talk now about
'Hercules, the Legendary Journeys' returning if the producers of the show, SHOW Sorbo the
money. The producers must put the money into the show and make it huge. Better effects,
and stories. If long term, Kevin Sorbo has said he would be interested in returning. But
NOT for some movie of the week type stuff.
JAN 28: Invisible Go ahead: the SFC finally gave the
green light on its long awaited 'Invisible Man' series. A 2 hr pilot & 12 episodes
have been ordered. Filming commences in Feb. with a premiere in June scheduled. Vincent
Ventresca will star.
JAN 28: Pretender: Michael T. Weiss, slides behind
the cameras for the first time to direct an episode of his show. The episode will be about
white supremecy.
JAN 28: Pretender: The series will hit the qualifying
number of episodes for rerun sales. There is a possibility that this will be the last
season of the show. The show just hasn't found enough followers it appears.
JAN 28: Snoops dupped: Snoops became the first show cancelled due to one of the new gameshows.
ABC cancelled the series after 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' soared to the top of the
ratings, like 8 out of 10 spots. That is the final answer.
JAN 28: Sony says NO: Even though Sony will not
produce a Ghostbusters III like Akroyd wants, they refuse to sell the rights to someone
who would. Way to go Sony.
JAN 27: The Others: The premiere is near on
this heavily backed Speilberg production for NBC concerning the paranormal. Series is
produced by James Wong (Space:Above and Beyond) Generally, Speilberg television projects
have not done well. Luckily when Speilberg has done a TV project has gotten a 3 yr
guaranteed committment. Hopefully this one will fair better.
JAN 27: Shatner $ Man: William Shatner is now the
highest-paid actor in the world. The partner/actor of Priceline.com is set to receive
stock options worth $125M. That is more than he has made from all of his Star Trek works.
JAN 27: Flintstones 2: This is has totally new cast
with Stephen Baldwin as Barney, Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock) as Wilma, Jane Krakowski (ally
mcbeal) as Betty, and Mark Addy (full monty) as Fred Flintstone in 'Flintstones in Viva
Rock Vegas'. The tentative release date is May 20, 2K.

JAN 25: Well's Series: The Odyssey channel, owned by
Hensen Studios and Hallmark , have ordered 13 episodes of an, as yet un-named series based
on some classic stories by H.G. Wells. Series producer will be Robert Halmi Sr. They
will use stories written from 1894 & 1897. Odyssey is currently airing Beauty and the

JAN 25: LT on Shaft: Ex-football hall of famer
Lawrence Taylor has joined the cast fo John Singleton's 'Shaft Returns'. He was also in
'Any Given Sunday' and there is talk of him co-starring with Snoop Dogg in 'Bones', which
is currently in Limbo Hell.
JAN 24: the Lost Girls: An idea from Joel
Schumaker that will compliment the 1987 feature film 'the Lost Boys', is in development.
Schumaker will produce. No director or writer has been selected yet. Storyline is even
fimiliar to the original. Hmmmmm.

JAN 24: Top Genre: Now and Again 7.0 passed
the X-Files 6.6 for the top spot. 3rd Rock 6.1, Angel 2.3, Buffy 2.6 and Roswell swills
around the cellar with a dismal 1.7 rating.
JAN 24: Jedi Master Scully: The rumor surfaced
again that Gillian Anderson will be in the Star Wars Sequel as a Jedi Master. She neither
denies or confirms the rumor simply stating with a smile that she will be filming a movie
outside the US when SWII is filming. Rumor has it she will be a pivotal role in the
new movie (dark horizons)

JAN 23: Alien Nation: Jan 30th,

JAN 23: X-Ray TV: Screenwriter Micheal Casslitt
(seven days) and director Joe Dante are developing what they hope will be an Anthology
series or series of movies that will allow viewers to, "Experience the future, the
way it should be." Production design should reflect a 1950's Kelly Freas painting.

JAN 23: Tomorrow: The Lee/Shultz, Stan Lee and Larry
Shultz, Entertainment is developing the series 'Tomorrow'. A version of Planet of the
Apes, using robots instead of monkeys.
JAN 22: The Immortal: Lorenzo Lamas is back with
another syndicated series, about the battles of one man against evil. Series is
distributed by Western International Syndication. Created by Micheal Grais & Mark
Victor who gave us Poltergeist II: the Other Side.
JAN 22: Mummy 2: Brandon Frazer will get approx.
$12.5M for the sequel. The Mummy made over $400M worldwide and only $155M of that from the
US. This one will have Frazer and Weisz's character married with a nine year old son who
has the adventure of his father in him. A 2k1 (2001) release is planned.
JAN 22: The Kid: Bruce Willis' new feature film for
Disney, 'The Kid' will have Willis as a man who is visited by himself at 8 yrs old
complaining that he turned out wrong. ST Voyagers Jeri Ryan will be in this one too.
JAN 22: Jurrassic Park 3: With a summer of 2k1
released scheduled this feature has an $83M budget. The film will have many flying
reptiles in this one.
JAN 22: Wimbleton: NBC & Turner
sports have agreed to a 3-year contrace for the US TV rights for Wimbleton. A contract
worth more than $90M. Not scifi but new worthly.
JAN 22: Autolycus on Xena: Bruce Campbell, with
his new series 'Jack of all Trades' in production, due to premiere last week and this
week, doesn't think it likely that he will return to Xena anytime soon. He doesn't
want to say never, but no one is talking about it anymore.

people. Judging by how much this picture made you haven't seen it. Well, don't miss out
now. This is a great movie. A fun movie. Nothing technical, or fact based. Just a movie
that stars a wonderful cast, and is fun to watch. Rent it or better, buy it today. DVD srp

JAN 21: X-File News: Rumors are floating
around that if Duchovny were to get his salary per episode doubled (that would be $400K
per) that he might return, and providing that his lawsuit is settled against FOX, in his
favor of course, that he might return for another season. Gee at $8.8M for one season I
might come back for another year.
JAN 21: FAKK2 live action: Heavy Metal is working
with Threshold Entertainment to develop an hour long, live-action television series. The
series could premiere as soon as the fall. Rena Mero (sable) is being associated with the
project. An animated series is possible as well.
JAN 21: The Prisoner: Simon West (conair) may direct
this remake of series into feature film. Mel Gibson may star.
JAN 21:Time Machine: Dreamworks & Warner
Brothers are doing the remake of this one. Casper's Brad Siberling is rumored to
direct it. ( think this was reported already)
JAN 21: Out Foxed: Micheal J. Fox has
announced he will be leaving his hit series "Spin City" at the end of this
season. The stress of filming a weekly series is just to much for him now. He is not
retiring though. Hey, 'Back to the Future 4' is in development Micheal.
JAN 21: Jason X: James Isaac will direct the new
horror movie which begins filming in Toronto come March. Scripted by Todd Farmer, the
tenth installment takes place in 2455 on an abandoned earth. A professor and his students
on a field trip discover a cryo-frozen woman and the hockey mask. Kan Hodder who portrayed
Jason in the last three films has signed on for this one. All hell breaks loose when
the group gets back to the spaceship and head home.
JAN 21: Freddy vs Jason: This long awaited movie will
be a bit longer in coming to the big screen. The script is undergoing some revisions. Mark
Verheiden of Dark Horse is doing the rewrite. It appears the film probably won't hit the
screen until the end of 2001 at this point.
JAN 20: SCIFI2K.com is nearly finishing up it six

JAN 20: American Psycho: Lions Gate's new movie
starring 'Leo DeCaprio', at $20M, has been given an NC-17 rating. Not for the blood and
gore, but for one sex scene that is crucial to the picture. Lions Gate is planning to

JAN 20: Fire in the Amazon: Sandra Bullock's new
movie has also received an NC-17 rating, for a single sex scene. The filmmakers are

JAN 19: Double Billing: Arnold Swartzenegger
and Sylvester Stallone are talking about teaming up in a feature film. Each has
their own idea about the story. Stallone's pits the two of them against each other, while
the Swartz has them as an ensemble cast. Go with Stallone's idea. They get $45M between
them. What a budget on this one. Could be a huge hit with the right script.
JAN 19: Vegas
Trek: Paramount is reporting that the Las Vegas Hilton
'Star Trek' ride will remain open dispite rumors it would close in March. They report the
ride is exceeding money expectations. Universal is still suing Paramount over copyright
infringement concerning the ride. At almost $15 for the ride and $10 for a burger at
Quarks, it won't stay busy for to long.
JAN 19: King signs on: Stephen King has signed an
extention with his present publisher for another three works of fiction. He is with Simon
& Schuster.
JAN 18: Tri-TREK: Paramount Studios is testing
ideas for 3 concept trek series. And yes, one of them is the Starfleet Academy theme. The
other two involve an Elite Strike Force, and a pre-original Trek setting. Paramount of
course denies any of this. Like who cares if they are checking out new ideas or not. It is
what they are suppose to do, right?
JAN 18: Harry Potter Books to WB: Warner Bros. has
paid a seven figure advance for the rights on Joanne Rowings best selling children fantasy
series.
JAN 18: Doomsday: This will be a UPN animated
series. It is produced by Howard Stern. No time slot is set, but UPN is committed to at
least 13 episodes.
JAN 17: Elfquest: An animated Elfquest film is in
pre-production.
JAN 17: Batman Musical: Warner Bros. has plans
to stage Batman: the Musical sometime in 2001. This should be good.
JAN 17: Fascape Movie: Discussions are underway
for a movie based on Farscape. This idea is influencing the series storylines. An upcoming

Entertianment has officially announced the syndicated television show for Anne McCaffery's

Isle of the Dead: Burt Reynolds will direct a remake of Boris
Karloff's 1945 Movie, 'The Isle of the Dead'. the RKO remake begins filming by the end of
2000 with a $10M budget.
Jan 14: Reeves at 15%: Keanu Reeves will get $30M and
15%, from the combined gross of the two Matrix sequels.
JAN 14: Phantom Menace: This will be the first
movie to be released world wide on the same date. SORRY, no DVD on this one for many

JAN 14: Ghostbusters 3: Even though Sony has said no
on a third installment of Ghostbusters, Dan Aykroyd now has a finished first draft of the

JAN 12: Battlefield 2: John Travolta has already
committed to the sequel to Battlefield Earth, as had Barry Pepper. Negotiations are
underway with Forest Whitaker & director Roger Christian. The sequel is targeted for a

JAN 12: Roswell Next?: With the ratings on FOX's new
series slumping to syndication levels, Roswell might be cancelled soon. FOX is sometimes
quick to pull the plug. Remember Brimstone and Harsh Realm? Harsh Realm had much twice the
ratings when it got the axe.
JAN 12: Scully gets the chair: Gillian Anderson will
direct her first episode of X-Files this season. Duchovney directed his first episode last
season, along with coming up with ideas for some of the episodes.
JAN 11: Early Edition, no paper: CBS has
shelved Early Edition for a new game show were players can win big. CBS is promising
the show will return in March. However, I think we all know that if the game show is
successful in the ratings EE is gone. If not, the show will return.
JAN 11: Spiderman Rumors: With the development
phase in work on Sony's new feature film, Spiderman, the rumors are beginning to spread.
IGN news is now confirming that Fincher and Sam Raimi are in the running to direct along
with others. Raimi's style of directing could really hurt this project.
JAN 11: Renewed Shows: Peter Benchley's Amazon
and Earth: Final Conflict have been renewed for next season. EFC had already been
given the green light before this season even premiered.
JAN 10: Red Sonja: This one is still in development
as a television series by Threshold Entertainment. Still rumored to star Rena Mero, aka
Sable.
JAN 10: Metropolis: Series scripted by Jason
Hightman & produced by Spike Jonz. This being done for the SFC. Cops vs the
Paranormal. However, with GvsE coming to the SFC in March it might be changed to this
title and the new series scraped. Won't work with two shows with the same premise on the
same channel.
JAN 10: To Die Hard 4: Bruce Willis has indicated a
fourth sequel to the seccessful trilogy Die Hard is not likely anytime soon. Well, that
stinks.
JAN 10: Indiana Jones 4: George Lucas says he is
ready to do the Fourth installment as soon as Speilberg and Ford have time in their
schedule. That may be awhile as Ford's Patriot Games third segment 'The Sum of all Fears'
nears production.
JAN 9: GvsE to SFC: the SciFi Channel
has announce that it will pick up the series GvsE from it parent station, USA network in
March of this year. Under the agreement the name of the show may be changing. It will be
part of the Friday night prime line-up with the episodes already shown and at least nine
new episodes, one feature Nichelle Nichols. (uhura)
JAN 9: Mummy Sequel: Production could begin as
early as May. This may have something to do with Brendan Frasier backing out of his next
picture.
JAN 9: SciFi helps DVD: Science Fiction and Fantasy
genre films helped secure record sales in DVD players at the end of 1999. Three films sold
over one million copies each. Martix, the Mummy and Austin Powers 2.
JAN 9: Buffy Big Screen: Joss Whedon revealed
recently that he would like to do a Buffy, the Vampire Slayer feature film. But it
wouldn't happen while the series was still in production.
JAN 9: Sheena: Queen of the Jungle: by Columbia TV
is to star Gina Lee Nolan. Will launch in the Fall of this year.
JAN 9: Captain Proton: Voyager holo-series enjoyed
by Kim and Paris comes to paperback by Dean Wesley Smith by Pocket Books. Price to retail
at $14.95.
JAN 9: Matrix DVD: Mega-hit Matrix has reach
sales of over 1.8M copies. That would mean roughly that about 50% of the DVD owner have a
copy of this movie.
JAN 9: Ford Awardless: Other than the best actor
nomination, Harrison Ford has never won an award. This hollywood icon and moneymaker has
played Indiana Jones, Han Solo, been the president fot United States. A business, lawyer,
FBI agent and more. But on February 17 Ford will be honored with a lifetime acheivement

JAN 8: New Star Wars Novels: There is a new
rush coming of Star Wars Novels. Greg Bear is writing a novel set 3 years after the

X-wing novel. Also writing novels are James Luceno, Kathy Tyers, and Micheal Friedman who
is doing a new trilogy.
JAN 8: New Disney Tune: Disney, in its
infinite wisdom, has changed their position of limited DVD releases. All 10 titles plus
those being released in the future will ALWAYS be available. But Hey! By throwing it out
there initially it sure did help sales of their first ten releases, didn't it. We have got
sucker written all over our faces. Well, some do...
JAN 8: Super Update: Comic Book characters are the
hot commodity in 2000. More than 1999. In work so far... Ironman from Newline. Dr. Strange
from Sony. Inredible Hulk , Prime, Green Hornet and Hellboy with Universal. Warner
Bros. has Vandetta and Plastic Man. Silver Pictures is doing Wonder Woman. Sony is also
doing the Silver Surfer and the long awaited Spiderman. Daredevil is now in the
works too.
JAN 8: Blade 2: This one should be in post
production by now with a scheduled summer release. Rumor are that each aspect of the
picture is better the first movie. Wesley Snipes will be back in 2K.
JAN 8: Time Machine: Dreamworks
and Warner Bros. are teaming to remake this classic. Brad Silberling (casper) is rumored
to direct. Any original stuff out there Mr. Speilberg?
JAN 7: New Blade Runner DVD Cut: Ridley Scott is
doing a redigitized version of Blade Runner with about 8 minutes of new footage inserted
into the movie. The studio requested the new version with dwindling reserve copies
and they were past the 10 year storage mark, and beginning to deteriorate.
JAN 7: Blade Runner on Stage: Frank Wildhorn,
broadway composer, is supposedly working on a musical version of Blade Runner.
JAN 7: New Q: John Cleese who starred in the
lastest James Bond movie as Q's assistant, has signed on for three more Bond Movies. It is
likely he will take over for the late Q.
JAN 7: New Series in JAN.: Jack of all Trades
& Cleopatra 2525 both premiere on January 17 in Syndication. These are the replacement series for Hercules.
JAN 7: Beat It Poe: Micheal Jackson, King of Pop,
will play the legendary horror writer 'Edgar Allan Poe' on the big screen in 'The
Nightmare of Edgar Allan Poe'. Jackson will producer the feature. Gary Pudney will be the
Executive Producer. The independent picture is being paid for by investors from Canada and
Germany. Go Micheal!
Jan 7: Bond DVD set sold out: The Initial run of
75000 boxed sets has sold out within the first four weeks of release. MGM is
extremely pleased and has put the set back into production.
JAN 5: Buckaroo TV: After the revisions
to Earl Mac Rauch's TV pilot script, FOX execs are considering a pilot for a TV series
based on the 1984 cult film, 'The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai'. The project is being
done by TABB's original director, W.D. Richter.
JAN 5: Queen of Swords: A near Xena action
fantasy television series will shopped around to the TV Stations this month. This series
will be from Rysher Entertainment for its Canada Producer, Canwest Entertainment, who also

JAN 5: The FUTURE 4: Rumor has it that Universal
may be gearing up for the 4th installment of 'Back To The Future'. Bob Gale is scripting
as he did the first three pictures. Joe Johnston's name is being thrown around as the top
director for the project. His name is being associated with alot of possible pictures
these days. No one from the original three movies has been signed to anything.
JAN 5: Weiss is Sliding: Rober Weiss, the
co-creator of the TV series Sliders is working on a movie based on the first two season of
the show. He hasn't signed anyone to the picture from the original cast, which is who he
wants. Nor has he convinced Universal of the idea, and they own the rights to
"SLIDERS"
JAN 5: Metropolis: The SciFi Channel's
series scripted by Jason Hightman & produced by Spike Jones is still in development
for the station. It is a cops, Cops vs the Paranormal series. This is original for the
last couple of years, huh.
JAN 4: Relic Hunter blasts to #1: Amoung 1st run
action/drama TV series in syndication RH has over-thrown the Beastmaster after its 8 week
stint at the #1 spot.
JAN 4: MASK 2: This one is in development with
a $20M budget. Jim Carrey is out, since he gets $20M per picture now. Carrey has also
stated he is not interested in reprising the role. He wants meatier roles now.
JAN 4: SF channel: New seasons of First Wave and
Farscape begin this week. Hope your ready. LEXX is coming too.
JAN 3: Harsh Realm Revisited: FX will show the
entire 8 episodes that were completed in March of 2K. Get the VCRs ready for this short
lived show. Or wait for the scifi channel to get it in 2001.
JAN 3: Crypt Master Cometh: The scifi channel
will be airing the entire 93 episodes of Tales of the Crypt this year beginning in
January.
JAN 3:First Wave: Season Two has a new
night. Sundays at 7pm EST beginning on January 9.

numbers for 1999 are... Star Wars PM: $429.9M, Sixth Sense: $275.4M, Austin Powers:
$205.4M, Toy Story after only 4 weeks this year with $179.7M, Matrix: $171.4M, Tarzan:
$170.9M, the Mummy: $155.3M, and the Blair Witch Project: $140.5M.
JAN 2: Indiana Jones on DVD: According to digital
bits website there is a rumor that Lucas and Fox have been working on a DVD set of the
trilogy with a possible release around March 2K or earlier. We can only hope that this
rumor is ture and will come to pass.
JAN 2: More DVDs for 2K: Coming this year on DVD
are... Independence Day:SE, the Abyss:SE with both versions, Addams Family 1 &
2, Stargate SG-1 pilot and two episodes, Escape From New York, Spaceballs, Meteor,
Princess Bride:SE, Cliffhanger:SE, Terminator 2:SE, Men In Black, Bact to the Future
Trilogy set, JAWS, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and Jurassic Park. Even more listed
here are coming too.
JAN 2: Indiana on LASER: the Indiana Jones Trilogy
THX/AC3 special editions planned for Laserdisc have been CANCELLED. This could lead
true to the rumor about a DVD release this year.
JAN 2: No on Batman: Ben Afleck has openly denied
any rumors linking him to the caped crusader saying "There is no Batman script, no
movie planned, they have not called me or my agent & gwyneth is more the Electra
type."
JAN 2: Lone Ranger Dead: Clayton Moore the
legendary masked ranger has died at the age of 85. Rest in peace Kemo Sabe.
Moore won back the right to wear the mask in 1984. Heigh Ho Silver... Away!
JAN 2: Bond DVD set 2: Yep, it's coming in May of 2K
folks. The next bond set on DVD. Rumor has it that it will be released May and be
available in the October time frame. Price possibly the same as the first set.

Is Hot: There are 3 movies in production right now with Mars
as the backdrop. Brian DePalma's 'Mission To Mars' by Disney. Val Kilmers 'Red Planet'.
and John Carpenter's 'Ghosts of Mars'. The will hit the theatres in that order.
JAN 1: ROSWELL UK: Both Sky and the BBC have
purchased rebroadcast rights to the New WB series for the year 2K.
JAN 1: CUPID Returns: Well, the reruns of the short
lived series Cupid have been purchased by the UK's Channel 5 for the year 2K.
JAN 1: Ultraviolet USA: The UK
much-praised vampire drama is coming to the US. Fox is slightly tweeking the show for the
US audience. Fox is heavily in search of it X-Files replacement. A 2k or 2K1 release is
being reported at this time.
JAN 1: Anakin Opening: George Lucas has an open
casting call for the part of 19 yr. old Anikin Skywalker. Lucas is considering a relative
unknown for the role. However, applicants must have some professional acting credits to
their resume. Joe Bumkin from nowhere america need not apply.
