OCT 31: New
Fan Pages: UPN's The Strip, and
NBC's 1994 series 'VIPER' fan pages have
been added to site for your enjoyment. Other fan pages already only the
site are getting revamped, and Episode Guides added to the pages for your
pleasure. Hey, let me know what you think. Want to do one for the site,
let me know that too.
OCT 31: Apes
Filming: Planet of the Apes is finally suppose to go before the
cameras November 6. The release date for the film has been pushed back
from July 4 to July 27 2k1.
OCT 31: Freakylinks
Dead:
According to a source at Ain't It Cool, Fox will pull 'Freakylinks' from
its schedule after its November 11 broadcast. The show isn't officially
cancelled however. In its place will be a show called 'Million Dollar
Mysteries'. First casualty? Oh yeah.
OCT 31: Blair
Witch: The Blair Witch sequel opened to the low end of expectations
coming in at #2 with a mere $13.1M over the weekend. Meet The Parents was
number one at the box office for the fifth week with $15.1M and over $100M
so far. Blair Witch 2 is likely to be a disappointing film. Many who saw
the first film were lead to believe it was based on something real, with
real footage.
OCT 31: Dwain
Lee Killed: Actor Anthony Dwain Lee was shot several times, and
died on the scene during a Halloween party. Lee played in 'Liar Liar' and
many television series including NYPD Blue. Police responded to a noisy
Halloween party and shot the actor who was carrying a fake pistol, and aiming it around. He was unaware that real police were at the party. One
guest couldn't believe the police would shoot a weapon at an exclusive party with
security on the premises. The party was at a mansion known as 'the Castle'
for its spires and stained-glass windows.
OCT 30: New
Series: Level
9 and Freedom premiered Friday night on UPN. The shows were very different
and decent for opening episodes. These two shows have potential. Give them
a chance and give them a watch or two.
OCT 30: PS2:
Looks like the US is going crazy over Sony's new Playstation 2, which is a
game machine and DVD player all in one. At $299.99 there aren't going to
be any on the shelves for the rest of this year. Even those having units
on order may not get one before years end. People were actually sleeping
outside toy stores days before the units release in hopes of getting one
of the units. Sony cannot meet the demand for the units due to a shortage
of parts.
OCT 30: Glimpse
of Hell: FX
continues with it original movies as it has signed 'Rollerball's' James
Caan to star in 'Glimpse of Hell'. The film about the explosion aboard the
USS Iowa in 1989 is expected to cost just over $5M.
OCT 30: Dark
Angel Loses: This time the fans of 'Dark Angel' will have to take a back seat to the
elections. This will mark the first time that FOX has aired the election
coverage.
OCT 30: Ears
Anyone?: Spock's ears are being auctioned off. Each pair is
set to fetch about $2000 each. The molds however are expected to fetch
even more. Also available in the auction will be Kirks head. A prop done
in his prime so the actor wouldn't have to set through prosthetics make-up
everyday. One of kind, eh? They will be available through the Los Angeles
branch of 'Auction House'.
OCT 30: So
Long Bruce: It's official, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore are divorced after their split
since 1998.
OCT 29: Jules
Verne: The
Sci-Fi Channel has snagged the first season of 22 episodes titled 'The
Secret Adventures of Jules Verne'. It will air in January of 2k1 as will
Roger Corman's 'Black Scorpion'. If successful, the SFC can order up more
episodes of the new series. The new series is shot in widescreen high
definition video. (cinescape online)
OCT 29: Invisible
Man: The Sci-Fi
Channel has ordered up 'The Invisible Man' for another full 22 episode
season. This turned out to be a quality show.
OCT 29: Trek
Direction: LeVar Burton has stated that he is interested in taking
the directing duties for 'Star Trek 10'.
OCT 29: Stracynski
SF Series: In an update to the previous report about his new,
as yet un-named series, The interested cable network is willing to go into
production of the series based on the pilot script alone. The new series
will have a story arc, but nothing as drastic as with Babylon 5.
OCT 29: Deadman:
The new 'Deadman' pilot slated for TNT will be different from the actual
comic book. In this stupid version for TNT, the TV Deadman will tell the
story of a stuntman who is murdered, but returns to Earth as a spirit able
to occupy the body of his nerdy brother.
OCT 28: Terminator
3: Intermedia has struck a deal with Kassar and Vajna's 'C-2
Productions' to handle world-wide sales of 'Terminator 3' and 'Basic
Instinct 2', in all media areas. MGM however will be handling the North
America sales of 'Basic Instinct 2'.
OCT 28: Patrick
Onboard: USA Today is reporting that Patrick Stewart has signed on
for Trek X. It might be awhile before Trek X gets into production
since John Logan isn't sure he will have the script completed before the
strike. This is likely to be the final Star Trek Picture with the entire
cast of the Next Generation. Time to start mixing the three series cast
members together with some fresh blood.
OCT 28: Stargate
SG-2: Looks like MGM has decide to make a sequel to its 1994 sci-fi
hit 'Stargate' which spawned a showtime television series.
OCT 28: No
Paramount Sci-Fi: It appears that Paramount has decided against their own Sci-Fi Channel.
The studio is offering up its three Star Trek series broadcast rights to
the highest bidder. It is believed to be worth about $365M, unless the
bidding takes it higher. Right now the Sci-Fi Channel and TNN (The
National Network) are the front runners for the package. Paramount wants
$1M per episode of STTNG. The highest ever price for a syndicated series.
(variety)
OCT 28: Outer
Limits: MGM is also considering a feature film based on its other
series 'the Outer Limits' which has moved over to the Sci-Fi Channel.
Nothing new anymore. It's either remakes, or from TV to the big screen. So
much for some originality. (variety)
OCT 28: Spawn
2: Character creator Todd McFarlane is due to recover his rights to
'Spawn' on November 6. Reportedly, McFarlane has said he has three studios
waiting for him to let them know if he legally has the rights back. The
sequel will get done. (cinescape)
OCT 28: Dune
Sequel: The Sci-Fi Channel has announced that it has acquired funding for a sequel
to their as yet, un-aired Dune mini-series. The sequel will be based on
Dune: Messiah. John Harrison, helmer and writer on the first, will also do
the second. (hollywood reporter)
OCT 28:
Full Moon: The direct to video company, of small budget flicks has
a full list of genre projects coming or in the works. New: HorrorVision,
Kill Joy, Witchouse 2, Prison of the Dead, Sideshow, Ragdoll, Voodoo
Academy, the Horrible Doctor Bones and Frankenstein & the Werewolf
Reborn. In work for 2000/2001... Stitches, Puppetmaster vs Demonic Toys,
Subspecies 5, Trancers 6, The Vault and Haunted Submarine. There is a ton
of money to be made in 'Direct to Video' features. Remember Tim Thomerson
as 'Dollman'. What a crack-up.
OCT 28: Earth
2: I have added an
'Earth 2' VHS Cover Sheet to the site for fans of the show. Click
Here to view the Cover Page.
OCT 28: Scooby
Doo: IGN Filmforce is reporting that Christina Ricci has been approached for the
part of Velma. Velma was the smart red head, with glasses and yellow
sweater in the comic series.
OCT 28: RATS:
Nu Image & Millennium Films has a new picture in development titled
'RATS'. The horror film will be directed by Matt Johnson, and produced by
Boaz Davidson & David Lerner. Likely to be a direct to video feature.
OCT 27:
Dune:SE DVD: Just saw an add in the latest issue of 'Starburst' for the TV edit of
Dune. The three hour version with 35 minutes of extra footage and
specially shot prologue. Listed for overseas release in the magazine and I
haven't heard anything about it in the States. This is a great cut of the
picture, that was originally on released on laserdisc, in Japan. Sure hope
it hits the states soon.
OCT 27: Stracynski
Series: Besides
his Rising Stars feature JMS has plans for a new SF series in which he
will write the script. The Two-hour pilot script is due in December. If
green lighted for a series production could be begin as early as the
spring. Of course production would take place in Vancouver, and the budget
would be larger than he had for Babylon 5. Just don't let TNT get their
hands on it.
OCT 27: Buffy
DVD Set: The Buffy first season DVD set is due early 2k1 and will be a three disc
set with all 12 episodes of the first season, plus extras of course, that
include... audio commentaries, cast and crew bios, a music video, the
pilot episode script and some great packaging. (digital bits)
OCT 24: Craven
SciFi: Variety is reporting that UPN has ordered a Science Fiction Pilot movie
from Horror director 'Wes Craven'. It will be a paranormal pilot about a
millionaire and his wife who specialize in artificial intelligence
investigating the paranormal.
OCT 24: Jen-X:
UPN has asked 'Deep
Blue Sea' screenwriter Duncan Kennedy to create a Sci-Fi pilot titled
'Jen-X'. The adventures of a cybernetically enhanced twentysomething hero.
Go UPN!!!
OCT 24: Andromeda:
New syndicated series
'Andromeda' appears to be the number one new synd. series this season
after four weeks. Of the new syndicated series there hasn't been much to
cheer about. I haven't seen the Immortal yet. But the others just aren't
that good. Download the VHS Cover Sheet. Click
Here for the Cover Sheet area.
OCT 24: Spiderman: Looks like the
WWF's Macho Man Randy Savage will be in Sam Raimi's 'Spiderman'. He is
currently in training for the role. (new york daily news)

Teaches: Blade Runner visual effects pioneer 'Douglas Trumbull'
will be teaching classes and have speaking events at the Columbia College
in Chicago from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1.

live action movie is in pre-production. Filming is scheduled to begin in
Feb 2k1, in Australia. The is still announcement of actors for the film
yet.
OCT 22: They're
Coming!!!: This coming Friday launches not one, but TWO UPN genre one-hour
dramas to their Friday night line-up. Due up, 'Freedom' and 'Level
9' beginning at 8pm.
OCT 22: Willis
Company: Bruce Willis and Arnold Rifkin have formed their own
production company, who isn't these days, called 'Cheyenne Enterprises'
They don't have a distribution deal yet. but has closed a three year
first-look deal with 20th Century Fox TV for multiple series and a two
year deal with
OCT 22: Gold
Monkey: Tales Of The Gold Monkey has landed at
Sci-Fi 2000 with its own web page. Visit the page to remember this great
series that starred '7th Heaven's' Stephen Collins. Click
Here for the fan page. Lots of images and information. Be patient.

Sheets: There are over
80 VHS Cover Sheets in the likeness to some great television shows, genre,
comedy, and dramas. Check them out if you dubbing your own collection.
OCT 21: No
Legend: Universal has now postponed the DVD release of the Ridley Scott Special
Edition of 'LEGEND' starring Tom Cruise. There is no time frame for
its release reason for it being pulled. Same as with the 'Back to the
Future' trilogy DVD release. Legend will be released at some point this
year, once all the extras are added.
OCT 21: Fan
Pages Anyone?: Anyone out there who has a fan site dedicated to a
television series and no longer updates it or wants it, please feel free
to donate the site here. Or if you would like to create a TV series fan
page for this site let me know. The credit for it is yours. Drop me an
email if your interested.
OCT 21: Freakylinks:
Zap2it.com is reporting that Freakylinks looks to be one of the first
casualties of the new 2000 season. Fox really blew it on this series. I
also predicted an early demise of this... bad series.
OCT 21: Dark
Angel: Despite a ratings drop in each of the last four weeks from a debut of 10
down to 8.7, the series is doing well among the new fall shows. Hopefully
things will level out in the 6's for the season. Download the cover Sheet
for the series. Click the image to download.
OCT 21: Jason X an
R: The 'Jason X' feature has been
delivered to New Line Cinema and sometime next week there will be a
screening of the film for the executives. The MPAA has garnered the film
with an 'R' rating with minimal trimming of the film. (friday the 13th
website)
OCT 21: Dracula
2000: Entertainment
Tonight has put the trailer on their website for Wes Craven's 'Dracula
2000'. (dark horizon)
OCT 21: Fraser
not George: Brendan Fraser has turned down the lead role in the
Disney sequel to 'George of the Jungle'. He says someone else can take on
the role, he has moved on. Dispite grossing over $100M at the box office,
it was a horrible picture. Nice decision Brendan.
OCT 20: VIP: Pamela Anderson's series, VIP,
is among the most expensive series to film spending $1.2M per
episode. Normal network shows spend about $1.6M per ep. VIP in its third
season (amazing) is number three in the genre ratings. Normal syndie
series generally cost under $1M per episode. Can you image spending a
million dollars per episode for 'Sheena'? Someone is lining their pockets
with cash on that deal.
OCT 20: Crow
Salvation: Dimension films will release 'The Crow: Salvation' direct to video on
January 23, despite protests by fans, who want the film released in the
theatres.
OCT 20: Nick
Fury: Looks
like Nick Fury might be putting in an appearance in the new 'Iron Man'
film in development. It also might be part of the reason that the Fox
network, Nick Fury pilot, starring David Hasselhoff, was not picked up for
a new series. Nick Fury aired in 1999 on Fox. (entertainment weekly)
OCT 20: Red
Planet: Promos for the new Val Kilmer, Carrie Ann Moss feature
film, 'Red Planet' have looked outstanding. Look for this film to hit
theatres in November. Should be so much better than the stupid 'Mission to
Mars'.
OCT 20: Pretending
for More?: TNT is reporting that if the two 'Pretender' TV Movies do well in the
Neilson ratings polls that the networks blueprint will be to steer clear
of hour-long series episodes in favor of getting 20th Century Fox to
produce more two hour movies, that will be filmed in Canada for about $4M
per TV Movie. (variety)
OCT 20: Battlefield
Earth 2: Despite the dismal performance at the Box Office for 'Battlefield Earth',
John Travolta is still planning to do the sequel to the L. Ron Hubbard's
novel of the same name. Battlefield Earth raked in a disappointing $21M at
the box office. And it isn't even out on DVD yet. BE cost $73M to make.
OCT 19: Go
Scooby: Warner Brothers has given the green light on the live action picture, with
Raja Gosnell as the pictures director. He signed on to the project last
week. This means, thankfully, that he will not be able to do the Fantastic
Four adding the comedy twist he wanted. Big mistake making this into a
live action series. Why not an animated feature like they're doing with
Batman Beyond.
OCT 19: Cleo
Returns?: Cinescape online is reporting that USA Studios president Steven Rosenberg
is reporting that an hour long version of Cleopatra 2525 will replace Xena
in January. And that Jack of All Trades is indeed, dead. Looks like
earlier reports of Cleo's demise were premature ejaculation.
OCT 19: Blair
Witch: For those of you who somehow enjoyed 'The Blair Witch
Project', then you must be happy as the new 'Blair Witch 2' feature starts
Oct. 27. Get the money ready. This one is nothing like the original.
OCT 19: Matrix:
Jada Pickett Smith
has signed on to Matrix II, & III as Niobi, a love interest for
Laurence Fishburne's character.
OCT 19: Madonna
Wins: Pop Singer Madonna has won an arbitration case for what she
calls here domain name, madonna.com. The previous owner, Dan Parisi, has
owned the domain name since 1998. Parisi was using the .com as a porno
site as he does with 'whitehouse.com'.
OCT 19: Toy
Story 2: Yesterday found the new Disney/Pixar Toy Story/ Toy Story 2 three disc set
on the retail shelves. The SRP is $39.99, but 'Best Buy' stores are
selling the new release for a mere $19.99. Costco price should be in the
$24.99 price range. This one is only available on DVD in the two movie
set.
OCT 18: Doc
Savage: The Swartz's third in line project behind Collateral Damage
(filming now) and Terminator 3, finally has a completed script. Arnold
says the script compares to Spielberg's, 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. (la
times)
OCT 18: 1.2GHZ:
AMD is now shipping their 1.2-ghz Athlon chips. I want one!
OCT 18: Batman
Edit: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker may get a dual release as
fans are petitioning for. the WB is paying close attention to all four
sites pushing for the films un-edited version. (comic2film) Keep bitchin'
yall. They're listening. Remember... "He who cries the loudest, gets
the most."
OCT 18: Iron
Fist: RayPark.com is reporting that Ray Park (X-Men) is interested
in taking on the lead as Marvel's martial arts hero 'Iron Fist' and a role
in the 'in development' project 'The Green Lantern'.
OCT 17: Ghostrider:
David Moyer told Eon Magazine that it may take a little longer to get
Marvel's 'Ghostrider' onto the big screen than previously planned due to
the extremely likely 'Writers & Actors strike'. Goyer says he is
moving along nicely on the script that is kind of in the vain of 'Mad Max'
& 'Blade' except more mature.
OCT 17: Freakydumps:
Just as I predicted last week, Freakylinks is possibly beginning the
downward spiral as the new Fox series was dumped by 25% of its audience
from its premiere week.
OCT 17:
Hulk on DVD: Anchor Bay is planning a double feature DVD release of two Incredible Hulk TV
Movies for late next year. (2k1) The double feature will be.. 'the
Incredible Hulk Returns' and 'Trial of the Incredible Hulk' which star the
late Bill Bixby and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno. They could have thrown the
third picture on their too, 'Death of the Incredible Hulk', to complete
the TV trilogy.
OCT 17: Good-bye
Xena: USA Studios has finally announced officially that this will be the final
season of Xena, Warrior Princess. The sixth and final season will be a
full 22 episode slate.
OCT 17:
AMD Success: Third quarter earnings for AMD were above previous predictions. The
company had sales of $1.2B and a third quarter earnings of $213M, thanks
to sales of the Athlon chip and its flash memory.
OCT 17: Apes
News: Gary Oldman will not be joining the cast of Burton's 'Planet of the Apes',
but Michael Clark Duncan will be. He will play a huge silverback gorilla
in the film. Oldman acted sour during he statement saying that they are
cheap and not willing to pay anyone. (entertainment weekly)
OCT 17: Ali
on the Ropes: Sony and director Michael Mann are at odds over $5M on the Muhammad Ali
picture that currently has a $105M budget and is to star Will Smith as
Ali. Mann is known for... blowing up a budget on a film and Sony wants
some guarantees that Mann will stick to the budget they set for the film.
The worst of this is that Will Smith is upset with the delays, since he
has bulked up for the role, and may decide to back out of the Sony 'Men In
Black' sequel if Sony doesn't get off their ass and get the Ali picture
started. The Ali picture will lose money regardless of the budget. This is
more of a TV movie idea than something for the big screen. (creative
planet) Does this mean Sony will screw-up Spiderman over money
constraints? Likely.
OCT 16: Cover
Sheets: New
Series cover sheets on site include, Dark Angel, the District, Deadline,
the Immortal, Andromeda, the Fugitive, the Invisible Man, Nikki, C.S.I.,
and second year shows like VIP, the Beastmaster, Relic Hunter, Farscape,
First Wave, West Wing. See them all in the VHS
Cover Sheet Area. Lots of other cover sheets on site as well.
OCT 16: UPN
Genre Premieres: UPN will be premiering it's new genre series this
Friday, October 27 beginning at 8pm with 'Freedom' followed by 'Level 9'.
These premiere opposite of CBS's 'the Fugitive', which isn't very good,
and their hit series... 'CSI'. Have to warm the vcr to catch them all. Go
UPN!
OCT 15: ABC
= Buffy?: Once
again the rumor emerges that ABC is after the WB's 'Buffy the Vampire
Slayer'. EW online is reporting that Bloomberg has always been a fan of
the show and would love to get the show when the WB contract for Buffy
expires. 20th Century Fox is likely to be looking for $2M per episode on
the new contract, which the WB may not be able to afford in order to
maintain the rights to the show. The WB begins talks with 20th Cent. in
2k1. Recently the WB took Sabrina away from ABC with a guaranteed 44
episode deal at less money than ABC's one year guarantee.
OCT 15: Batman
5: Director Darren Androfsky told Salon magazine that it isn't set that he
will be doing Batman 5. He will be working with Daredevils Frank Miller on
the script. However, another project in work, might be on his schedule
instead.
OCT 15: Pitch
Black DVD: The un-rated Director cut will have about three minutes
of new footage in it. Early reviews of the DVD are that the sound is
outstanding and the video quality is excellent. The extras however really
suck. I won't be buying it for the extras, but why waste the DVD space
with crappy extra material. Poor play on Universal's part. The standard
version you can also purchase, will have the same crappy extras. Spend the
few extra bucks and get the Directors Cut.
OCT 15: What
Lies Beneath: The Pfeiffer/Ford thriller has quietly taken in a
whopping $153M to date, as parody thriller 'Scary
Movie' has taken in a surprising $155M. X-Men
with a November DVD release date has made $156M. The Gone
in 60 Seconds remake finally broke the $100M mark this past
weekend. (variety)
OCT 14: Voyager
Rated: the
two-hour Star Trek Voyager premiere scored a whopping 6.2 Wednesday night
rating beating out the WB's Dawson Creek and Felicity.
OCT 14: Exorcist
$$$: The Exorcist continues to do well remaining in the top 10 as
it sits at number 4 with $4.4M, has taken in grand total to date of $24M.
OCT 14: Terminator
3: Just
to show our ages, Edward Furlong aka... John Connor of Terminator 3 is 22
years old. He will reprise his role in the sequel.
OCT 14: Timecop
2: Dark Horizon is reporting
they have a very unreliable rumor that Dark
Horse comics is considering a sequel to Timecop. Horizon is also reporting
that Jean Claude Van Damme is eager to reprise his role as the time
traveling cop and Lawrence Gordon is to be producing the film.
OCT 14: Paramount
Upgrade: Paramount Parks have signed a deal with Iwerks Entertainment to upgrade
their existing Iwerks 2D projection rides into 3D projection rides in time
for the summer 2k1 season. This deal will cover 5 North American
Parks.

hits 100: the new WB sitcom from ABC, 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' is due to air its
100th episode Oct.
27 on the WB Network. However, Oct 27 is the Premiere of UPN genre
series, Level 9 and Freedom.
OCT 14: VFX

in Dinosaurs, Titan AE, Space Cowboys or Babylon 5? Well , you can.
Electric Image is celebrating their being an Independent company again by
offering their EIAS 2.9 software package for only $995. This is a limited

Friday 13: Witchblade
Series:
On Wednesday TNT ordered up 11 preliminary episodes 'Witchblade' limited
series, based on the TNT Pilot which aired in September. They are
tentatively scheduled for a summer 2k1 airing. It will be an 11
episode arc of one strong story. If that performs well, it may turn into
more episodes. Kinda like a comic book mini-series. Now you get the idea.
Friday 13: ID
4 sequel: According to TV Guide, Says about Dean Devlin &
Roland Emmerich have something developing with an 'Independence Day'
sequel. Regarding the duo they say... "We've been talking about it. When you've got a movie that made
that kind of money rest assured somebody is talking about a sequel!" Will
Smith also confirmed something is developing with the an ID4 sequel while

Angel A Winner: So far anyways. After two weeks Fox's 'Dark Angel' is number 10 in the
Ratings. The forensic drama 'C.S.I.' has done outstanding coming in at
number 8. Way to go Cameron! Dark Angel came in at 10 despite airing
opposite the first presidential debate.
Friday 13: Tron
2.0: Actually it is a sequel and not a remake titled 'Tron 2.0'.
VFXpro has confirmed that Disney is actually working on the sequel. Corona
Coming Attractions is reporting that scribe Richard Jeffries (Neanderthal)
has been hired to work on the script.
OCT 12: New

OCT 12: Alien
Legion: Marvel has sold the rights to another property for a
feature film. Marvel's epic line comic , Alien Legion, has landed at
Dimension Films. Don Murphy of Angry Films the film based on the Carl
Potts comic book series.
OCT 12: Quicktime
5: The new upgrade 'Quicktime 5' is now available for preview from
Apple Computer. The final version will be available early next year. The
newest feature stops audito and video stream skips due to slow internet
access. Download the new version from apple.com/quicktime/preview/.
OCT 12: Blade
2: It appears
that the Blade sequel will be filming in Toronto as the first film did.
While Blade will be working with other vampires, there will be several
twist and turns with the arrangement. (comics2film)
OCT 12: Shane
Salerno $$$$: The 27 year old screenwriter of 'Armageddon' and
'Shaft' has reportedly signed a pair of seven figure deals with Jersey
Films and 20th Century Fox on a two year deal. Pretty cool. (variety)

Canada. This season Traci Elizabeth Lords, as she likes to called now,
will be co-starring with Subastian Spence. The third season is nearly
completed filming. In the US we will not see First Wave's third season
until January 2k1 on the Sci-Fi Channel. (cinescape online)
OCT 11: Pretender
Movies: TNT will feature two television movies early next year (2k1) ,that will be
written and produced by creator Steven Long Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle.
Fred Keller will direct and exec. produce both movies. They are being
produced by Fox in association with NBC productions. These two films
should tie up loose ends of the series and bring the series to a close.
Wonder if 180 minutes of total running time will be enough. (hollywood
reporter) The reruns of the series are doing extremely well on TNT.
Their original movies should do well. I'll be watching.
OCT 11: Pitch
Black DVD: There will be two DVD releases of the 'Pitch Black' DVD on October 24,
2000. You will be able to purchase the DVD in its theatrical version, or

Returns: Bruce Campbell is reprising the voice of Ash from the Evil
Dead feature films for a new PC Game, in which Ash returns to fight
evil in the woods.
OCT 11: Fantastic
Four: With a budget of $75M, this looks like a summer blockbuster
possibility and slightly less cheesey than the Roger Corman unreleased 'B'
movie 'the Fantastic Four'. Problems are arousing with fans over the
possibility of 'Big Momma's House' director Raja Gosnell. He wants the FF
to be a big action comedy. Hopefully Gosnell will take the live action
Scooby Doo feature. A comedy superhero flick we don't need. Another Howard
the Duck if Gosnell does it. Batman's Sam Hamm is scripting.
OCT 11: X'ed
For Nine:
Despite all the off season whining and pleading for no more X-Files,
Scullly star 'Gillian Anderson' has signed on for a ninth season, and
Robert Patrick signed a multi-year deal with Fox when he signed on. Now
Duchovny is sure about his future with the show, with there apparently
being a ninth season. This guy thought Fox would fold up and close the
deal on the X-Files. WRONG! Life goes on dude. You wanted out, now take a
hike. Do your six episodes and leave.
OCT 10: New
Cover Sheets: Just added new cover sheets to the site for Frasier
and Will & Grace. My apologies to Frasier fans who showed up yesterday
and didn't find the cover sheet listed. I just forgot to upload the new
html. Sorry about that.
OCT 10: Malkovich
Set: Sam Raimi has confirmed that John Malkovich will indeed done
the green of the Green Goblin, aka... Norman Osborn, Normans son Harry
might be played by actor James Franco. As we all know, Harry becomes the
Hobgoblin after his fathers death.
OCT 10: Mann
& Machine:
I have added a Yancy Butler, Mann & Machine, fan page to the Sci-Fi TV
section. Lots of information about the series, and images to enjoy. CLICK
HERE to Check out the Fan Page.... Yancy bares a little in the short
lived series.
OCT 10: Extra
Apes: In this remake of 'Planet of the Apes' there is likely to be
more variety of apes, which will include the Spider monkeys, Mandrills,
Chimps, Apes, Orangutans, Mangabeys, and others. (coming
attractions)
OCT 10: Robocop:
Prime Directives: the first of four television movies has aired in Canada, and the reviews
have been nothing but positive so far. The only griping about the first
movie is there isn't that much action. Director Julian Grant promises
there is much, much more in the next three films. Fans of 'Robocop' seemed
to be thrilled with the new piece of work. In the US we might have to wait
until early 2k1 to see them. They were originally suppose to air in the US
this month.
OCT 10: CSI
beats Fugitive: Friday night lead in series 'the Fugitive', a 9.2
rating, got beat in the ratings by 'CSI', a 11.2 rating, which won its
time slot. The Fugitive was beaten in its slot by Fox's 'Police Videos'.
And in two week will get even more competition from new episodes of NBC's
'Providence'. It was always a question whether the Fugitive could pass
muster without the high budget. (pilot cost $6M to make). The Las Vegas
based series CSI got almost no advertising compared to a whole years worth
for the Fugitive.
OCT 10: Freakylinks:
The new Fox series has rated well for its debut Oct. 6. But will the
ratings hold on this... this... series.
OCT 9: New
Covers: Just added VHS Cover Sheets for 'CSI' and 'NIKKI'. Two new
shows for the 2000 season. And I have added a new X-Files cover sheet too.
CLICK HERE to view the cover sheets page.
OCT 9: New
Series Reviews: Read the quick reviews of the new series from this fall. CLICK
HERE. Only take a few minutes. Worst: Freakylinks & Sheena. Best:
Dark Angel & CSI.
OCT 9:
X-Files: The season two DVD Boxed Set of the X-Files is due in November 2000 for
all you fans out there with money to spend. Should be priced in the $99.99
range like the last set. ( 8 season $800) Having the entire series will
cost some fans some bucks. But at least the entire season sets are being
offered. Now if they will just start doing some of the older shows in DVD
Boxed Sets.
OCT 9: Killer
Klowns DVD:
You read it right. There is no set date other than a 2k1 release, but
'Killer Klowns From Outer Space' will be joining 'C.H.U.D.' on DVD. I
don't have any details on whether or not there will be extras on the disc,
which is unlikely, but the DVD is coming. 'B' movie 'Buckaroo
Banzai' starring Peter Weller, is also scheduled for a 2k1 release on DVD.
OCT 9: Animation
Trouble: Looks like the Disney Animation Company may be closing
business after dumping their movie 'Wild Life' due to extensive sexual innuendos
and adult themes. 119 animators were laid off and there is nothing else on
the slate for the animation company. Disney has been busy backing the
animation powerhouse 'Pixar' and it has ultimately hurt Disney's own
animation department. Next up for PIXAR... 'Monsters Inc.'
OCT 9: Back
To The Future DVD: Universal is reporting that the reason BTTF has
been pulled from its scheduled release in 2001 is that the set is still
deep in production. Though not on the release schedule, expect at some
time in 2k1. (digital bits)
OCT 8: Queen
of Swords Duel: A judge has ruled in favor of an aspiring
screenwriter that Paramount Pictures stole the idea the 'Queen of Swords'
two decades after she first sold the idea to ABC. The judge also ordered a
halt to further airings of the one-hour syndicated series unless she is
given screen credit as the shows creator. Naturally Paramount denies the
allegations and will appeal the judge's order.
OCT 8: Top
5 $$$ Makers: On the power charts and money makers per
picture Julia Roberts is number one. The top 10 money makers per picture
are... Julia Roberts, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Mel Gibson and at number 5 is
Bruce Willis, followed by... Brad Pitt, Meg Ryan, Leonardo Dicaprio, and
Will Smith.
OCT 8: Zanuck's
sign deal: Oscar-winning producers Richard D. Zanuck and Lili Fini
Zanuck have inked a two-year first-look production pact with DreamWorks, where
they have several feature projects in the works, including "Road to Perdition," to
star Tom Hanks for director Sam Mendes. They last had a first look deal
with 20th Century Fox, but had been independent over the last three years
with offices in Beverly Hills. They are excited about the deal with 'Dreamworks'.
Movies from the husband/wife duo include... Cocoon: the Return, Driving
Miss Daisy, Rush, Rich in Love, True Crime, Wild Bill, and Manhattan
Falls. Richard Zanuck is long associated with Steven Spielberg.
OCT 8: MISC

who cofounded the seminal new wave rock band the Cars and sang some of
the band's greatest hits, has died. He was 53. Orr died Tuesday at his
home of inoperable pancreatic cancer. He created the band 'The Cars'
in 1976 with singer-guitarist Rick Ocasek
OCT 7: Spawn
2: Things are developing pretty much the way creator Todd
McFarlane predicted last year. It appears that come November New Line
Cinema will dump its option on the sequel to Spawn. Other studios are
interested in doing the sequel, so it is likely the project will find
a new home.
OCT 7: Batman
Violence: The
new animated feature, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, has been pushed
back several month due to censors, so that the picture can be retooled,
and the violent content reduced. (comics to film) Oh, please... Grow up
people. You get tired of other people trying to tell you what you can and
can't watch. There are a couple of organizations fighting the
censorship, but it will have no effect on the re-edit of the animated
film.
OCT 7: X-Men:
Release date is
scheduled for 11.21.00. The VHS version will be pan & suck format with
ten minutes of never before seen footage. The DVD will be loaded in
letterbox/ anamorphic format with six extended scenes that can be viewed
as part of the film or one after the other. A 22 minute behind the scenes
documentary, interviews, art work, two trailers, three movie spots and
more. Price on the DVD should cost under $30. VHS price... Who the hell
cares!
OCT 7: Stamos
Returns: John
Stamos appears headed back to ABC in a new pilot about a pair of thieves
who become government agents. Stamos will play a high-end crook who is
captured, and to avoid hard time agrees to help the government. His
partner in crime will be a female in the same situation. Kopelson, who is
producing CBS's 'the Fugitive' will be co-producing this one also.
OCT 6: Babylon
5: Looks like the new 'Babylon 5: Into the Fire' game is now dead due
to a reported lack of interest in the material.
OCT 6: Wonder
Woman: It appears that Producer Joel Silver, who is producing
Wonder Woman, has reportedly said that Mariah Carey is the front runner to
wear the red, white and blue of the Superhero. (uk's Daily Star) She joins
a growing list of potentials. At least she should fit the costume, unlike
Sandra Bullock would have. But can Carey act?
OCT 6:

Verne's 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'. According to Variety the
film and book elements will be completely ignored in favor of an updated
storyline.
OCT 4: Ford
K-19: Harrison Ford appears to be eyeing the feature 'K-19' as his
next action project. The story of a Russian Submarine Captain trying to
keep his payload from becoming a nuclear explosion. If signed, the project
would begin filming in February 2k1 and be wrapped before the actors
strike in the summer.

away at the age of 67. Mulligan has suffered a long battle with cancer.
OCT 4:
Freedom/Level 9:
UPN's new genre series romp into homes on Friday nights from 8pm to 10pm,
beginning October 27. Freedom is a new series from Producer Joel
Silver. Could be a great new night for genre shows.
OCT 4: Seven
Days: This show
is probably the most underrated genre series on TV. Seven Days, starring
Jonathan LaPaglia, begins its third season on UPN beginning October 11 at
8pm. The is a great time-traveling sci-fi adventure. Voyager follows
Seven Days. Makes for a great night in front of the television.

City, New Director: Blue Tulip Productions, from producers Jan De
Bont & Lucas Foster, will make the time-travel thriller 'Old City'.

OCT 3: Session
9: USA Films has hired screenwriter/director Brad Anderson to
direct the horror thriller 'Session 9'. Shooting should have began this
week. David Caruso will star in the lead role.
OCT 3: USA
Shuffle: USA Network is shuffling executives in order to remain on top as the
number one cable station after losing the WWF package to Viacom and TNN.
USA Network is scrambling to create some original programming amid
increased competition from TNT. Bout time USA got some kind of shake-up
with their lousy programming. Hey, look what this company has done with
the Sci-Fi Channel. Not great, is it?
OCT 3: Disney
to Hasbro: After over a decade exclusively with Mattel Inc., Disney
has announced a deal with Hasbro Inc. for the licensing of feature films,
videos, and television properties. This leaves mattel will produce only
toys based on Mickey Mouse and other classic Disney characters along with
any new infant and preschool film and television properties. It is rumored
that the deal with Hasbro will gain the company $150M to $250M annually.
Hasbro will start its deal with the Disney feature 'Monsters Inc.'
OCT 2: SHEENA:
Gina Lee Nolan's new
series 'Sheena' debuts Oct 7. There has been little hype or chat about
this new series starring the Baywatch Babe. Finally saw a commercial for
the series during football on Sunday.
OCT 2: Cover
Sheets: New Cover Sheets are in work for many of the new shows, and
some current running shows, like Frasier. In work, Freakylinks, Level 9,
the District, Will and Grace, New X-Files Cover, Titans, Fugitive, and
others... Keep checking... Also, over 125 VHS Side and Top labels are also
available for download.
OCT 1: Exorcist
$$$: The re-release of the 70's Warner Brothers horror feature 'the
Exorcist' is still number two at the box office this week behind Denzel
Washington's 'Remember the Titans'. In the two-weeks of release the Linda
Blair picture has made $17.5M. That is some great money for a limited
re-release.
OCT 2: Television

your pleasure. From Babylon 5 to Rosanne, they're here, enjoy... Starsky
and Hutch being uploaded soon.

OCT 1: Tomb
Raider: TR
Movie.com has posted some new photos of the Angelina Jolie feature
film currently in production. Click on the link to enter the site. This
last picture looks horrible. Angelina Jolie may be the wrong person for
this role. She just isn' t looking the part, at all.

Feliciano, titled 'Behind the Mask'. Fireworks (Robocop owner) is

series begins airing this week in Syndication.
OCT 1: Apple
Plummets: With warning that profits will fall short of predictions,
stocks fell from 53-1/2 to 29 and continued to drop Friday as well.
Investors are wondering if Apple has lost its winning vision. I
think it is people finally getting smart and realizing there is a little
more to a computer than pretty colors at a price that offers less for the
money than an equivalently priced PC. I am talking about the sub-standard
I-mac systems. The new G4 systems are incredible. The PC's can't touch
them.
