That is until the Marvel creator decides to outsource some more jobs and screw some more hard working animators for underpaid labor overseas. Nice move Stan. Already becoming the next Nintendo.

SEPT 28: No Theatre $$$: Hollywood is blaming the Olympics for lack of viewers at the theatres. While this might be a great thing to blame it on, they might want to look at the fact that maybe America is just tired of the shit that came out this year. While there were some great movies there were some big flops. Just to name a few... Supernovea, Mission to Mars, the Thirteenth Floor, the Thirteenth Warrior, Shaft, Godzilla 2000, Disney's the Kid, Highlander Endgame, Coyote Ugly, and others... Plus there isn't shit for new movies at the box office to interest the movie goers.

SEPT 28: Echostar Sues Fox: The Fox Family Channel is seeking to again raise its license fees with program carriers forcing Echostar Sat. Corporation to sue the network to get out of its 10 year contract, 5 yrs ahead of schedule. SEPT 9: The Mummy 2: George Lucas knows how to make money, that's for sure. The special effects for 'the Mummy Returns' from ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) will cost Stephen Sommers (Deep Rising) $20M. (entertainment weekly)

SEPT 9: the LEXX: The Sci-Fi Channel has ordered 24 new episodes of the television series, 'LEXX' for next season. Production is set to begin later this year. (scifi channel)

SEPT 9: Westworld: Joel Silver (the Warriors) is moving forward on his remake of the 1973 Michael Crichton feature 'Westworld' by hiring scribe Richard D'Ovidio (Exit Wounds) to write the script for the remake.

SEPT 9: Star Trek Series V: Cinescape online is reporting that the new Star Trek series in development likely will not have a pilot movie. Generally since the series would have a one season commitment it would not be necessary.

SEPT 8: MIB2: Sonnenfeld is said to have revealed the current status of the project, saying, "Sony actually has pretty much made a deal for myself and Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones to come back and do a sequel." (cinescape online)

SEPT 8: Odyssey: Echostar Dish Network Satellite TV service has added the Hensen/ Hallmark channel 'Odyssey Network' to their line-up which is currently airing 'ALF' and 'Beauty & the Beast'.

SEPT 8: Jurassic Park 3: Sam Neil, who is set to star in the third feature of the Jurassic park series, has revealed that this film is actually set between the first one and the second film.

SEPT 7: ET Revisited: Variety is reporting that Spielberg is re-release ET: the Extraterrestrial to theatres to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2k2. The new film will have never-before-seen footage (possibly the cut Harrison Ford scene) and new CGI enhancements. The films soundtrack will also be digitally remixed.

SEPT 7: Ford's Face: Harrison Ford is worried about having his face digitized in a computer, which was done for the movie 'What Lies Beneath'. Ford doesn't want his face used for a Coke commercial after he is dead. Ford was quoted as saying... "They end up with a wire-grid matrix of your face. I'm a little disquieted by the idea of this supplanting of intellectual property rights. ... I don't want to be doing Coke adverts when I'm dead. If I choose to do them when I'm alive, I want to participate in profit from it."

SEPT 5: T2 DVD: The new Terminator 2: Special Edition DVD is out in a limited edition metal case. This is an awesome DVD set  with three versions of the film, and a ton of extras. One of James Cameron's best films. The Special Edition is an incredible film. Much better than its theatrical counterpart.

SEPT 5: Matrix DVD: as of 8.20.00 the Matrix DVD was STILL # 6 on the top DVD sales list. Despite all new films releasing on the format, Matrix continues to outsell the competition. (digital bits)

SEPT 5: Star Wars Trilogy Again: Well, George Lucas is once again sucking some blood from his devoted Star Wars fans (most gullible ones anyways) with a new release of the original Star Wars Trilogy on VHS. God what could he have added to this one again? You have the original set, the collectors trilogy in letterbox, the digitized set, and the special edition set. Plus the three or four sets that were released on Laserdisc format. Now there will be a fifth set for the VHS format. And NO, still nothing available on DVD.

SEPT 5: Episode One DVD: Lucas films is hard at work on an Episode One DVD. Hopefully, it is looking like a 2001 release for you fans out there. Cross those fingers and toes. I would just be happy to see the 'Indiana Jones' letterbox trilogy on DVD.

SEPT 4: New Story: A new short story by Ben Thompson has been added to the Virtual Library titled 'LOT 49'. Take a read and let Ben know what you think.

SEPT 4: Spiderman: Looks like scheduling conflicts will keep Nicholas Cage from taking on the role of 'Goblin' in the new Spiderman feature film. Now we may be looking at... John Malkovich taking on the role of Spiderman's nemesis. Also it appears that Doc Ock will NOT be in the film. So far the villain is not in the current script. Likely due to what would be expensive CGI for the Doc.

SEPT 3: Daredevil: Total Film Magazine is reporting that Mathew McConaughy is under consideration to play the blind superhero, 'Daredevil'. The only villains negotiated for Daredevil are Kingpin and Elektra. John Goodman is up for the Kinpin role with Gwynth Paltrow for the part of Elektra.

SEPT 3: Sabrina: The teenage witch will be making her new WB Network premiere on Friday's at 8pm beginning September 22. The same time slot the show had on ABC.

SEPT 3: Star Wars, It begins!: Here starts the Star Wars hype by George Lucas. Now, out of nowhere appears a Star Wars script from a... SPY! And it was offered to theForce.net. Naturally Lucas Films is reluctant to discuss these situations with anyone, though they are putting pressure on the Force.net to learn who possibly stole the script for the movie that is due in theatres in 2002. Give me a break. This is nothing more than Lucas starting the Episode II hype for his new film.

SEPT 3: Marina Sirtis: While talking with SFX online, Sirtis said she didn't take on a role earlier in Voyager because she was afraid after her time on the Next Generation of being type cast. Type cast? Give me a break... She has nothing in her career to talk about before Star Trek. Before the episode 'Pathfinder' with Dwight Shultz, Sirtis was offered a part in Voyager to play herself as part of a holodeck program. She turned it down. Type Cast... give me a break.

SEPT 3: Dark Angel: Once again 'Dark Angel' will premiere on Fox, October 3 at 9 - 11pm. An encore presentation will be done on... Oct. 9 from 8-10pm. Freakylinks will also get an encore presentation, but this show is a mess. Likely to be the first new series cancelled. What a mess.

SEPT 2: Night Visions: According to Cinescape Fox's new anthology series 'Night Visions' is being pushed back, and will now be a mid-season replacement.

SEPT 2: Dark Justice: The Playboy Channel will launch its new satire/adventure CGI series 'Dark Justice' on Sept. 3 at 10pm. The 3D toon chronicles the exploits of Justina, a vigilante vixen who must dodge the pursuits of the law as she fights Metro City’s most dangerous villains. Playboy also intends to expand the series into other mediums such as publishing, home video, online and product
marketing. (animation world network)

SEPT 2: Oh No Peg!: Al Bundy's television wife Peg Bundy, Katie Sagal, has filed for divorce from her real life hubby Jack White. The couple had been married since 1993 and have two children.  Sagal is currently voicing Leela on 'Futurama'. She also has a new series on NBC this fall titled, 'Tucker'.

SEPT 1: Salvation: Miramax has decided to test how well The Crow: Salvation will do in theaters. On Friday, September 15th, The Crow: Salvation will be released for a limited engagement in Spokane, Washington. How well it does in Spokane will determine if the movie is given a nationwide release.

SEPT 1: Powerman: The rumor mill has offered up LL Cool J (Deep Blue Sea) as an actor to play the title character of Luke Cage and Hype Williams (Belly) as a potential director. However, our source would not comment on any of the talent that is rumored to be attached and could not confirm the above names. He did say that more information may be available later this year.

SEPT 1: Ghostrider: Ghostrider will be Dimension Films largest budgeted picture yet at $75M. David Norrington, who did 'Blade' will be directing, and they are still interested in Johnny Depp for the lead role of Johnny Blaze.

SEPT 1: Freaky Quits: Trouble continues to surround Fox's re-titled 'Freakylinks'  as David Goyer and Greg Hale, the shows co-creators drop their day to day duties and taken executive producer roles in protest of the networks recent changes to the show which includes dismissing Goyer as the head writer.

SEPT 1: Witchblade Scores: TNT's showing of their pilot movie 'Witchblade'  drew a 4.5 rating and an audience of 3.1M viewers, making it the number one movie of the week, and was the number one original movie of the year for adults. Hopefully this will sit well with TNT and get 'Witchblade' developed into a weekly series.
