Dec 31: No News: Sorry folks, no real news going on today being New Years Eve, but... Happy New Year to everyone.

Dec 30: So Long ABC: Echostar is still planning to drop the ABC Family Channel from its satellite programming to make room for it requirement to carry local channels of UPN & the WB. Disney has filed suit over the agreement with Echostar to carry the channel through 2005, but a provision in the agreement allows either company to drop the channel if it changed ownership. The move could cost Disney 16M subscribers. Awwww, to bad. Something Disney should have worked out before purchasing the 'Fox Family Channel'.

Dec 30: Lord Makes Money: So far through 12 days of release in the US & Canada 'Lord of the Rings' has grossed a whopping $154M dollars as of Dec 28th. It is also expected that the film has grossed over $100M overseas. Unfortunately fans will have to wait until next Christmas for the second installment.

Dec 30: Next Gen Mini-Marathon: TNN will air a five-hour mini-marathon today at 3pm. No, they will not be five fan favorites or best of.... just five ordinary episodes. But hey, it's the Next Generation.

Dec 29: Zemekis/ Spielberg Split: Robert Zemekis and Steven Spielberg have been friends for over 30 years. Next year the five year deal between Dreamworks and Zemekis' Imagemovers comes to an end and Dreamworks is willing to let the company part ways, likely due to high overhead - which includes mega spending on projects that haven't seen the light of day as yet. Imagemovers may be moving over to Warner Bros. In the past four years of the deal Zemekis has only directed two films, both were hits, and came out last year.

Dec 29: UPN Goes Satellite: Direct TV & Dish Network will be offering up UPN & the WB stations to their customers in the coming weeks, which will bolster the networks in the major markets big time. Both satellite companies will do so to comply with the 'must carry' provision in a 1999 Federal Law that allows the small dish companies to carry local television. The companies fought the law, but the law won. (wasn't that a song?) (zap2it website)

Dec 29: Gadget Filming: Even though the first flopped beyond belief, Disney is doing another one for 'Inspector Gadget'. The sequel has begun filming in Brisbane. The budget is a modest $10M and looks to be a direct to video film. 3rd Rock's 'French Stewart' will play Inspector Gadget, the part originally played by Mathew Broderick. Can you believe Stewart played a tough Marine in the feature film, 'Stargate'.

Dec 28: Beast Joins Nemesis: Some wonderful news comes that ex-Beast 'Ron Perlman' (Beauty & the Beast) has joined the cast of Star Trek Nemesis. Perlman, who recently wrapped doing 'Blade 2', will play 'Viceroy', the second largest guest role in the film. Perlman has been mostly B movie status but has done roles in Alien Ressurection, Ice Pirates, and Pet Cemetery 2. (dark horizons)

Dec 28: Craven Backtracks: Horror director Wes Craven has backtracked on some previous comments about not wanting to direct the long in development project Freddy vs Jason feature. Now the horror king is telling the Sci-Fi Wire website that if the script is good he would be more than willing to direct the film.

Dec 28: Neeson is Back: Liam Neeson, whose career may be petering out, has told Fox News that he will officially return in the upcoming Star Wars sequel - Attack of the Clones. He isn't suppose to say anything about his role, but everyone knows Jedi's are part of the force. Obi Wan appeared in two sequels after he died in the first film.

Dec 28: Madsen Bonding: Veteran actor Michael Madsen (who reminds me of Tom Sizemore) will join the cast of the new James Bond film as a rogue CIA agent named 'Falco'. Madsen's career has taken a nose dive since his series Vengeance Unlimited and the Species films turning to 'Direct to Video' films. This could resurrect a career

Dec 28: Pretender Cover: Just added a new set of VCD cover, back and label for the Pretender series showing on TNT weeknights. There are now two sets available for the series.

Dec 28: Ryker out: According to the Dark Horizon's website William T. Ryker will be replaced as first officer of the Enterprise by the young Steven Culp at the end of the film. Meyers, will play a Romulan Commander named Donatra. Dina Meyers is on the cusp of becoming a genre queen with roles in 'BATS', 'Starship Troopers', the series 'Secret Agent Man' on UPN, and the horror film she did with Keannu Reeves and Al Pacino. The budget for the tenth Trek feature is about $65M.

Dec 28: Witchblade Revisited: For anyone missing an episode or two of TNT's Witchblade series here's another reminder (one was done last week) that beginning January 28th at 9pm you can catch the series in repeats on TNT. (ron wolfe)

Dec 28: Buffy DVD soso: The digital bits website has done a review of the new Buffy complete season one boxed set. Sad word comes in the review that the transfer is abysmal and looks like a VHS transfer to DVD. What is worse could be the pricing Fox will put on the boxed set even with the poor quality transfer.

Dec 28: Star Trek VCD: Recording Star Trek the original series to VCD? A new VCD Cover  front and back along with a CDR label have been added to the site for the original Star Trek series for download.

Dec 28: Mimic 2: The $10M direct to video sequel feature 'Mimic 2' has hit the stores. Walmart had the video on DVD for $9.99. Haven't seen it yet, but it's out there.

Dec 28: Buffy Role Playing: Many series and ideas have turned into Role Playing games. Star Trek, Star Wars, Secret Agent Man, Aftermath, Boothill, Dungeons & Dragons, Aliens, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and others. Now comes word that Buffy, the Vampire Slayer is becoming a Role Playing game.  This one however will be a board role playing game done by Donruss Playoff. The core role playing book will be written by C.J. Carella, who wrote the WitchCraft and Armageddon role-playing games. For fans... just take your favorite role playing scheme and adapt your favorite show characters into that game.

Dec 27: More Pretending: Word has yet to come from TNT as to the future of its series turned telefilms... but in a January interview with star Michael T. Weiss told Starlog Magazine that besides doing some feature films he is planning to some more 'Pretender' movies. Great news for fans.

Dec 27: Nemesis: Dark Horizons has a pleasant update on the tenth Star Trek feature that Dina Myers (starship troopers & BATS) has joined the cast along with Steven Culp. Myers is a hotty. (hollywood reporter)

Dec 27: Enterprise Cutbacks: Paramount will be cutting the budget for the second half of the series season forcing the writers to actually create some character driven stories rather than the flashy/expensive effects. Writing creatively is something Star Trek has nearly abandoned over the years using just special effects and technobabble. Many of the episodes will be shot just on the ships already created sets. If the new series is going to make it, the writers have got to learn to create character driven stories, ala Deepspace Nine.

Dec 27: New VCD Covers: Joshua over at Khitomer.net was nice enough to donate some VCD fonts and backs for Andromeda, Enterprise & ST: Voyager that I have generisized for the site. If you would like to download covers for the three series done for each specific season or episode then please click on the link and check out his site. Enjoy.

Dec 27: Wonder Woman: The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Sandra Bullock is still the front runner for the role despite pulling her name from the hat. Cindy Pearlman lends word that they have a script and are currently negotiating with Sandra's agent.

Dec 27: Andromeda: With the seasons nearing or into the half-way market - Andromeda & Mutant X, both from Fireworks, remain the number 1 & 2 series respectively. Andromeda has already been green lighted for two more seasons, and Mutant X's announcement for season 2 could come at any time.

Dec 27: Iron Fist: The Marvel chop-socky superhero 'Iron Fist' is officially set with Ray Park starring and Kirk Wong directing. It is unknown if Ray Park is reprising his role of Toad in the upcoming X-Men II feature. (scifi wire)

Dec 27: Lord of the Dollar: After opening Wednesday through the Sunday night the movie everyone's been waiting for has grossed an impressive $73M. Jim Carrey should stick to comedy as the majestic grossed a puking $5M over the same span and Tom Cruise can't carry a film on just his name as Vanilla Sky has suffered from bad word of mouth.

Dec 25: Merry Christmas: I would like to take a moment and wish everyone visiting a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday greeting.

Dec 25: News Update: There isn't anything in the way of news today but the site is of course loaded with material for every fan to check out. Listen to your favorite TV Theme; Download a VHS Cover Sheet, Label, or even a VCD Label. Digital Art, Famous Quotes or even read my Novel or check out the horror script on the site. Looking for a FONT? There are over 200 fonts onsite as well.

Dec 24: Perfect Dark: Ron Wolfe has checked in with a report from Variety that Fireworks Entertainment and Goodman Rosen Prods., who have given us the Robocop Mini-series, Andromeda, Mutant X, the Lost World, and Relic Hunter, have optioned the television and movie rights to Nintendo's best selling game 'Perfect Dark'. The new series could hit the small screen as early as this fall 2002. A feature film, based on the sci-fi game follows the heroine named Joanna Dark, is also being planned. Scribe/Producer Peter Linkov (Demolition Man & TV's La Femme Nakita) has been brought in to begin heavily shopping the project around next month.

Dec 24: VCD Covers: Nine VCD covers were added to the site recently. I will be adding some new Voyager, Andromeda, and Enterprise VCD covers and backs from Joshua's website at... Khitomer.net. If you want VCD dedicated to each episode of these series his website is the place to go. CLICK the link to to check out his site.

Dec 24: Deadman: This series for TNT is dead yet, but it is close. Work is continuing on the possible series but it's a crawl. It won't see TV this fall.

Dec 24: Mothman Prophecies: Seems like this film has been in production forever doesn't it. The Richard Gere thriller will come to theatres in January 2002.

Dec 24: Scary Movie 2?: Wasn't the second film bad enough to thwart a third installment? Nope. According to the Coming Soon website Dimension Films has picked up the rights to 'Scary Movie 3: Episode 1- Lord of the Brooms'. Written by the original scary movie team, who I won't bother to mention. The film is slated to go into production come March 2002 with a fall (Sept.) release.

Dec 24: Damned Comes in February: Aaliyah's last film 'Queen of the Damned' will finally hit theatres in February.

Dec 24: Ringing in the Dough: Lord of the Rings took in a whopping $18M in its first day.

Dec 24: Sci-Fi in Flux: With new ownership of USA Studios comes the Sci-Fi Channel's unknown status. It is unlikely the cable network will be pulled or dumped. However its direction could take a drastic change in the near future... as in the action network or simply a change in format. Adding action to the channel could be a very good thing with shows like the Rookie, SWAT, the Mod Squad, and other action series. Possibly even genre action series like 'Tales of the Gold Monkey', or '100 lives of Black Jack Savage'.

Dec 22: Enterprise News: Ron Wolfe just dropped in with some news that Enterprise has received a 25 episode commitment by UPN. A few episodes beyond a normal season. NICE!

Dec 22: Sci-Fi Notes: Strange World begins airing Feb. 8th on the SFC. the Chronicles returns to the SFC with new eps in January & the season finale on March 22nd. Stargate SG-1 returns to Showtime March 8th with new episodes at 10pm followed by the new series Jeremiah at 10:45pm. (ron wolfe)

Dec 22: Nemesis: Work on the tenth Star Trek feature film has already concluded all its location work and is now filming on the soundstages after just 30 days.

Dec 22: New VCD Covers: Just added a few VideoCD covers to the site today. Covers for 'the Flash', 'Captain Power', 'Special Unit 2', 'the Strip', 'Beauty & the Beast', 'Batman, the animated series', 'Batman Beyond' and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent'.

Dec 22: Daredevil: the new Ben Affleck feature 'Daredevil' is interviewing actress Maribel Verduis. It is rumored by Dark Horizons that it may be for the part of Elektra.

Dec 22: the Professional 2: Movie Headlines is reporting news that Bruce Willis is vying for the villain in this film.

Dec 22: It's Here!: the last weekend before Christmas and the final days before Christmas. Happy Holidays to all of you and a Merry Christmas.

Dec 21: Andromeda Scores 44: Vfx supervisor Jim Finn Dropped a wonderful email for the fans of the series today. The second year series 'Andromeda', which has been number one or number two in the syndie ratings for the past two years has been given the thumbs up for another 44 episodes.

Dec 21: Firefly: Wil Wheaton's agent is planning to contact Joss Whedon about a meeting. Wheaton is interested in the possibility of joining the cast of the new series. (moviehole)

Dec 21: Man-Thing: The Marvel/Artisan deal includes 'Man-Thing' (similar to Swamp Thing). Screenwriter Hans Rodionoff met with the head cheeses and will write and turn in a second draft come January for the film. It is to be just a polish of the existing script. (comics2Film)

Dec 21: No More Pet Detective: Fans of Ace Ventura, Pet Detective and the Mask can likely forget ever seeing another sequel with Jim Carrey at the helm. Recently the actor told Zap2It that... "Life is too short for me to want to repeat characters," he firmly states. No, he isn't interested in doing a sequel as the Grinch either.

Dec 21: Bulletproff Monk: The cast appears set. Actress turned model James King will join Chow Yun Fat and Sean William Scott.

Dec 21: UPN Shake-up?: With CBS taking over operations of UPN, the Prez of Viacom told Mediaweek that a UPN shake-up will likely not happen until 2003. Viacom has stated that the Monday comedy block will remain along with Buffy and Enterprise when CBS & UPN merge in January. It was/is unknown about Special Unit 2 & Roswell. (trek today)

Dec 21: the Hunted: Fox has given a script commitment to 'the Hunted' from writer/producers Kipp and Adam Marcus. The story will follow four siblings with special abilities. The four siblings are between their teens and twenties. They are orphaned after their parents die from mysterious circumstances. (zap2it)

Dec 21: Double Duty: In a growing trend, ABC is planning to use the once Fox Family Channel, now ABC Family Channel to air repeats of their series 'Alias' and other non genre series. With the cost of producing the series networks have found this method viable to share the cost of doing business. On a side note, Echostar is planning to DROP broadcasting the 'ABC Family Channel'.

Dec 21: Jeremiah: The new J. Michael Straczynski series, 'Jeremiah' will premiere on Showtime in either March or June of 2002.

Dec 21: Dead Girl: A proposed new supernatural series from Showtime. The pay cable channel has ordered a two-hour pilot movie with additional scripts for a possible series from Star Trek veteran Bryan Fuller titled 'Dead Girl'. The series would center on an underachieving 18-year-old girl who dies in a freak accident and returns to Earth as one of many grim reapers assigned to take out the souls of those whose time is up

Dec 20: Stompathon: Godzilla fans get ready! the SFC will be taking care of your needs in a big way as they air 8 Godzilla feature films in their 'Stompathon' come Dec. 30th beginning at 1pm. The 8 films will include old an new Godzilla films.

Dec 20: Mutant X Listens: Producers for the new series Mutant X are actually listening to the fans of the show concerning the over use of slow-motion fighting. You won't see the problem come new episodes in January. They have pulled in one of Jackie Chan's organization and began spending more time on the stunts.

Dec 20: Bond 20: Halle Barry has had her schedule set so that she can work on both X-Men II as well as James Bond's 20th film.

Dec 20: Nolte Gets Hulky: Drama star Nick Nolte has officially joined the cast of 'the Incredible Hulk' feature currently in pre-production. Nolte will play Bruce Banners father in the film. Also joining the film is veteran actor and awesome cowboy Sam Elliott.

Dec 19: Firefly: Buffy creator Joss Whedon has sold his sci-fi drama series 'Firefly' to Fox in a 13 episode commitment. It is slated to premiere in the fall of 2002. The new series will take place 500 years in the future and revolves around the crew of a spaceship. Whedon will executive produce, write as well as direct the two-hour pilot telefilm.

Dec 19: Wonder Woman: the Moviehole has found out that Wonder Woman has NOT been given the greenlight yet, and any rumors concerning Friends star Jennifer Aniston as Wonder Woman are totally bogus, as are the WWF's Chyna and Xena's Lucy Lawless for the part. The picture is moving forward and Joel Silver's 'Silver Productions' is putting together a production design team.  Until Warner Bros. seeing the production and designs for the film, it is unlikely that they will get the green light.

Dec 19: The Pretender: the Michael T. Weiss series, the Pretender, in cancellation is scoring extremely well in syndication earning a 1.7 rating. TNT recently completed their two telefilm plan to tie up the loss ends of the series, and even added some new twists at the end of the second film. It is unknown if TNT will continue the Pretender telefilms.

Dec 19: Witchblade: In January the first season of Yancy Butler's 'Witchblade' will return to TNT before the second season premieres in the summer.

Dec 19: Mindhunters: Renny Harlin's new thriller 'Mindhunters' has picked up Christian Slater and Gerard Butler to join Val Kilmer, LL Cool J, and the Mummy's Patricia Velasquez. The release for the film looks to be late next year. (dark horizons)

Dec 19: Tracker: The Adrian Paul fledgling series has nearly doubled its ratings over the past two weeks jumping from a dismal 1.0 to a 1.7 rating. Tracker has been stumbling only due to the horrible timeslot in most markets. Here in Las Vegas the new series airs Sunday nights at midnight.

Dec 19: Perseus Project: The website dedicated to the Invisible Man 'the Perseus Project' is having some trouble. While the owners cable network was being upgraded over a month long period her site name expired and was picked up by someone else. They have been nice enough to sell the domain back to its original owner and hopefully, very soon the site will be back up for its fans. From the owners email..."The site turned a year old a few days ago  but I have not yet received renewal notice.  Meanwhile, the name expired and was picked up by another party who has agreed to sell the name back to us. It has been very upsetting but hopefully, perseus project will return with a new installment by the end of the week." The message board is still working so don't despair fans.

Dec 18: Freddy vs Jason: Wes Craven has put a damper on the project for many fans of both franchises with news that the besides not having a script, they don't have a legal arrangement between themselves to bring the two together. He doesn't know if the project will ever get done, and if it should - he is not interested in helming the project. (moviehole)

Dec 18: Bond 20: The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the lead villain in the film will be played by Rick Yune, who was last seen in the Fast and the Furious.

Dec 18: Imposter: The long done (2 years) and nearly forgotten feature Imposter, starring Gary Senise has been pushed back from Christmas Day to January 4th.

Dec 18: Buckaroo Banzai: The Rock & Roll surgeon will hit the street on January 1, 2002 in DVD format from MGM Home Entertainment.

Dec 17: Terminator 3: Young John Connor aka Edward Furlong has been fired from T3 before the film even got started. The young actor has been fired due to the trouble he has been in lately from drunk driving to criminal trouble. Furlong nearly overdosed last year and continuous rehabs forced the production to drop the actor. The role will be recast some time next week. (Marilyn Beck & Tracy Smith from Moviehole)

Dec 17: Timeline Confrontation: Richard Donner has given an ultimatum to Paramount that if they don't greenlight Timeline on Wednesday he is out of the picture. Paramount has been planning a Christmas 2002 release for the film, but has put off getting production started. Locations have been picked out, and two actors signed to star.

Dec 17: Captain Power: A new VHS Cover Sheet for Captain Power has been added to the site for download. Enjoy. CLICK HERE for the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

Dec 16: Oh Pooh!: Disney is once again trying to get something for nothing as Winnie the Pooh  rights holders with Disney, Stephen Slesinger Inc. (bought the rights from the author in 1929) claims Disney has been withholding royalties from merchandising of Pooh. Winnie has been one of Disney's best selling merchandise. The suit filed could be worth 'hundreds of millions of dollars'. Disney's attorneys are worried that sealed documents may contain information that could aid Disney competitors. Disney was sanction last year for intentionally destroying 40 boxes of documents that might have had an effect on the outcome of this case. Doing crap like that, Disney should automatically be ruled against in the case.

Dec 16: USA Studios: French conglomerate Vivendi Universal is very close to a deal to purchase USA Studios for a mere $12.4B. The deal is being finalized with an official announcement due within a week. This would give Vivendi control of USA Network, USA Production Unit, as well as... yes, the ever screwed up 'Sci-Fi Channel'.

Dec 16: More VHS Covers: Just added a new First Wave cover (and removed one), plus a cover sheet for Poltergeist the Legacy, and a new Witchblade cover sheet.

Dec 15: Andromeda: Got an email from Jim Finn today interested in letting fans know about some things with the show that have been going on in the discussion boards. Here is the email. "There is nothing sinister happening on the show, Robert and the shows producers had a creative difference that could not be resolved without one or the other bowing out. gracefully, Robert did that with great grace and savvy. That departure actually happened a long time ago, the news is just now getting out. Brent also left the show very early in season II and his reasons have everything to do with the hours and hours of waiting and acting in the make-up and costume he had to wear. he loved the show and was a great member of the crew, everyone, he, the producers, writers and crew were very sorry to see the departure. The show is moving on and the recruitment of talented writers and producers will make the show stronger and more consistent in the next season. (Jim Finn - VFX supervisor Andromeda.)

Dec 15: Sinbad Returns: Columbia Pictures and director John Singleton are set to attempt another Sinbad feature film. Columbia plans to fast track the film, which will be CGI heavy on effects ala the Mummy. The script is written by Tedi Sarafian, who did the original T3 script. A release date is hoped for in late 2003, early 2004. Says the script writer, "We are looking at Sinbad as an 18th Century 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' on steroids."

Dec 15: Echostar: Vivendi just isn't interested in acquiring all of USA Studios, they have just invested $1.5B into Echostar by purchasing 10% of the company.

Dec 15: Sci-Fi Trouble: First is was the SFC becoming the Action Network by its parent company, and now comes word that Universal Vivendi wants to purchase USA Studios. This leaves the SFC hanging in the air, raising more questions.... 'Will the new owner keep the SFC active, close it down, or even change the format. Could the company possibly invest new money into the struggling network?'

Dec 14: More Highlander: Despite horrible feature films after the great original feature Producer Bill Panzer will not let the franchise pass quietly into the night. Panzer tells 'the Digital Bits' website that he and Miramax are indeed developing a fifth film as well as a new series. There is no word on the involvement, if any, of Adrian Paul or Christopher Lambert. Paul recently said no way, unless he was given more control, but his new series Tracker isn't doing so well today - he could change his mind.

Dec 14: Six Million More: Variety is reporting that now the 'Six Million Dollar Man' is indeed getting the Hollywood make over by Dimension Films. The series was based on the story 'Cyborg' by Martin Caidin. Kevin Smith did a treatment for a possible film a few years ago, but it is unknown if he is involved with the project.

Dec 14: Andromeda  News: Andromeda is now losing another member of the series - this time from in front of the screen in Brent Stait, who play Rev Bem. He states it is for personal reasons. During the chat it was said it had to do with the make-up. OK. (slipstream) First co-creator Robert Wolfe takes an exit and now one of the series actors walks away from the show. Something is up with Andromeda behind the camera. Something that could possibly lead the series into the direction that EFC went, which alienated the fans as well as Mrs. Roddenberry.

Dec 14: Ryder gets Lifted: Alien Resurrection actor Winona Ryder has turned drug addict and shoplifter. Ryder was busted attempting to lift $5000 worth of goodies from Saks Fifth Avenue. Ryder was also book with a prescription drug without a prescription. (tv report)

Dec 14: A.I. DVD: The box office flop from Steven Spielberg will get a two-disc treatment on March 5th. Apparently A.I. is the most consumer requested video this year. All the extras on the disc from Dreamworks will be unique in that it hasn't appeared on television or cable. The new DVD will cost consumers under $20 at most retailers... the VHS version will be priced for rental and carry almost no extra features.

Dec 14: Letterbox Battle Royal: It is time for fans to take on media king 'Blockbuster'. Blockbuster is pushing for the studios to bypass releasing the videos in letterbox and only doing it in Pan & Scan format. Blockbuster is planning not to offer features in 'Widescreen/ Letterbox' format. Only videos on DVD in P&S format would hit their shelves. They are planning to put pressure on the studios to do this for themselves only. The mighty $$$$. If they get their way, the studios could abandon the format. Sign the petition to let Blockbuster know by CLICKING HERE. And drop an email directly to Blockbuster by CLICKING HERE. Call their customer service people at 972-683-5959 or writer the bastards at Blockbuster Inc, 1201 N. Elm Street, Dallas Tx. 75270

Dec 14: Rush Hour 2: The new DVD release of Rush Hour 2 will have two trailers from the upcoming 'Lord of the Rings' feature film.

Dec 14: Pain & Gain: Michael Bay's next will be nothing like Pearl Harbor as the director's feature moves to Miami and covers the true story about a group of Miami Beach beach bodybuilders who ran a kidnapping and extortion ring to disastrous and deadly consequences. (zap2it)

Dec 14: Liquor Ads: With ad funding declining NBC has broken a long taboo and will begin airing commercials for hard liquor. Why the hell not, when you've got Beer commercials filling the small screen. Why not hard liquor, why not cigarettes? They're all legal. Their money is just as green as anyone elses.

Dec 13: No More Lethal: For some reason the trio of Gibson, Donner and Glover are set in the fact that there will be no more feature in the Lethal Weapon franchise. Warner Bros. would love to do another one, but their about the only ones who are. Glover recently told Cindy Pearlman of Cinescape that Lethal Weapon 4 was a nice ride into the sunset and the franchise is over.

Dec 13: Imposter: The Gary Senise film has been in the can for nearly a year now. I remember the magazines with the feature in it, then the movie just disappears for a while only to return now. The film will open nationwide on Christmas Day. Might be a film to be wary about. It is based on the short story by Philip K. Dick.

Dec 13: Letterbox: I was at Walmart yesterday and saw a fellow trying to decide between 'Pearl Harbor' & 'planet of the apes' on DVD. I spoke with him about the discs and he decided to purchase both. A few minutes later somewhere else in the electronics department he came up to me again and asked about the black bars, and how he hated them. I tried to explain the loss of some portion of the picture and how you needed to see the entire film for these types of movies, even in 2.35:1 format. After explaining that these discs did not have the film in Pan & Suck format on them the gentleman pushed his cart away looking for both films on VHS rather than DVD.  Amazing how many people don't understand the importance of a film in Letterbox/widescreen formats vs the full screen mode.

Dec 13: Rollerdud?: The official website has been updated again for the remake that opens in theatres February 8th, 2002. This is a film that has had very few good things written about it.

Dec 13: Daredevil: IGN Filmforce is reporting a 'rumor' that Jessica Alba (dark angel) and Penelopy Cruz are up for the role of Elecktra in the upcoming film. Previous reports from AICN were that Katie Holmes, Rhona Mitra, and Selma Hayek had read for the part. Marvel's Kevin Feige told the Comic2Film website that they have to be very selective casting the role because they are looking at spinning Electra off into here own features.   Imagine that.

Dec 13: No Beau: Looks like Beau Bridges is out of the Agency before he even gets in to replace Ronnie Cox. TV Guide is reporting that Daniel Benzali will now replace Cox.

Dec 13: New VHS Side Labels: Just added to the site VHS side labels for some of the new cover sheets recently added. Side labels for... the Flash, Smallville, Miami Vice, Mutant X, Enterprise, Earth 2, the Agency, the Chronicle, Beauty & the Beast, the Strip, Earth Final Conflict, Special Unit 2, Mann & Machine, Justice League, Batman, Outer Limits, Tracker, Alias, Seaquest,  and two for the Lost World. CLICK HERE for the Label Area.

Dec 13: Strange World: Remember the short lived 13 episode series 'Strange World'. It only aired for three episodes before getting the axe by the network. Now fans will get to see the entire 13 episode run on the Sci-Fi Channel. Strange World (may of 1999 on ABC) will air beginning in February of 2002. Remember though, these episodes will be cut down to 40 minutes, loosing about 3 minutes of footage for airing in syndication on the SFC.

Dec 13: Enterprise: Fans continue to petition for Rick Berman to change the opening theme music to something more... Trek. Fans should start petitioning for some color to the series that is totally gray. Fans should be petitioning for some new writers with fresh ideas. Fans should be petitioning someone to take over the series and really push the envelope of Star Trek. Something fresh and new for the series. The theme song is the best part of the series.

Dec 13: Great Links Page Updated: I have done some major removals recently from the 'Great Links Page' folks. Found some more deal links, and links to pages that hadn't been updated in years. If you know a great site for fans with lots to see and download ( with very little adds filling the pages) drop me an email.

Dec 13: the Black Lagoon: Another Remake Alert! Universal will again tap in the remake realm in the 1954 classic feature 'the Creature From the Black Lagoon'. Gary Ross, son of original producer Arthur Ross, will produce the sequel. (hollywood reporter)

Dec 13: Nemesis Begins: Production has finally begun on the final Star Trek Picture that will use the entire cast of the Next Generation. Nemesis will be the tenth film in the franchise and four years since 'Insurrection'.

Dec 13: Devastator: James Hudnall's comic series 'Devastator' is being produced for a new series by Witchblade's  executive producer, Ralph Hemecker. Hemecker will also direct the telefilm for Jerry Bruckheimer television. The series will not however go forward as long as Hemecker is involved with Witchblade. So if season two is successful, Hemecker could leave the series to do Devastator. (scifi wire)

Dec 13: Pretender: The new TNT telefilm 'Isle of the Haunted' was well worth the watch. TNT did an excellent job with the center and Jarod, even if they did steal some footage from 'Die Hard 2' with the plane crash scenes. The film did answer many questions left hanging by the series as well as throwing in some twists here and there. Only there was no end, and the door is left open for more adventures.

Dec 13: Terminator 3: Who will do the SFX for the third film... why ILM, who else. Who's up for roles in the film? The only female star slated for the film looks to be the female terminator. Mentioned over the past few months... Famke Janssen (x-men), Pita Wilson (lefemme nakita), Chyna (wwf) and Natasha Henstridge (ghosts of Mars). Why not ex-weight lifter Corey Eversion? She looks great and appeared in Hercules. Lucy Lawless could flesh out the role providing she has had the baby before filming begins. (unlikely).

Dec 12: New Covers Again: Just added to the site are 'Batman: the animated series' and 'The Flash' from the 1990 television series, two versions. VHS Covers

Dec 11: T3 Official Name: The long rumored name T3: Rise of the Machines is now the official name for the upcoming film. Who  won the bidding war for the film? Why Warner Brothers of course, for a mere $50M. What does the studio have going in 2003... Matrix Reloaded on Memorial Day, Terminator 3 July 4th, and Matrix 3 to follow up in November and Harry Potter 3 come 2004. (dark horizons)

Dec 11: C.S.I. Kicks Butt: The second year hit Crime Scene Investigation scored the number one spot for the first time scoring an impressive 14.9 rating and 23 share. This is seriously well done drama with a great cast and show writers.

Dec 11: Lord of the Tolkien: Director Peter Jackson told Entertainment Weekly he is glad the Tolkien Family wanted nothing to do with the films. The Tolkien Family doesn't own the rights to the film. The fans are getting three films some people have been waiting a decade for. All the complaining and whining about the three films isn't going to help anyone, or make the Tolkien family look good.

Dec 11: Sci-Fi World: the Sci-Fi Channel will finally be dumping their weekday 'Sci-Fi World'. Beginning in January will be a standard style schedule. Check the Sci-Fi Channel for their new line-up.

Dec 11: Mummy Returns DC: Everyone who has been waiting for the Mummy Returns Director's Cut, will have to wait a little longer. At least until the fall of next year. The DC will be the 'R' rated version. The delay seems to be putting together the 12 hours of material that will be on the four disc set. (moviefans.de)

Dec 11: Ironman: The comic superhero Tony Stark who is Ironman may indeed be under the protective wing of Buffy the Vampire creator Joss Whedon. He has confirmed rumors that he is being considered to write and direct the feature. But Whedon says he will likely do another series before taking on a feature film job. The Vampire King, wants to do a serious science Fiction series with some spaceship action. (cinescape)

Dec 11: Pearly Money: the motion picture 'Pearl Harbor' may not have set any box office records, but on DVD the film is hitting its stride with over 3.7M DVD sold and over 3.3M VHS tapes. In a seven day period the film has sold more copies than any other film which includes the likes of 'the Mummy Returns' or 'Episode One'. This is the by far... the best film of 2001. There is no doubt.

Dec 11: Witchblade: The TNT series will not premiere until the summer of 2002. Production of the second season should begin filming up in Toronto around January 22nd. The short first season did extremely well on TNT which is a rarity for the superstation. Hopefully fans of the series might get a first season boxed set.

Dec 10: Matrix Dates: Variety has released information that Harry Potter 3 may be pushed back until the summer 2004 to make room for the two Matrix films. Matrix Reloaded looks headed to the screen on May 2003, with The Matrix Revolutions opening in Dec of 2003.

Dec 10: Pretender: What could be the final PRETENDER movie 'Island of the Haunted' premieres on TNT tonight at 8pm. An encore presentation follows at 10pm. Dec 10: Hogan's Heroes: As previously reported Russell Crowe is indeed working on a Hogan's Heroes feature film, LOOSELY based on the comedy series. Crowe is planning to turn the film into a Drama rather than the anticipated action/comedy everyone was likely hoping for. Crowe will turn Hogan into a new Stalag 17, which Hogan was derived from.

Dec 10: Nakita on DVD?: Yep, Fans who have been petitioning to get the Pita Wilson series on DVD have scored a victory. Warner Brothers has decided to put the USA Network series on DVD tentatively scheduled for September of 2002. The only drawback to the deal is that Warner had handed the DVD distribution to none other than Columbia House. Columbia will reportedly make a decision on offering the DVD's individually or boxed sets. Fans want the boxed sets, but never has Columbia released boxed sets, much less completed the distribution of a single series on VHS or DVD. It could take fans five to ten years to get the entire series on DVD without boxed sets.

Dec 10: Boob Bonus: Halle Berry got $500,000 to expose her rack in the film Swordfish during a sunbathing scene. She is supposedly taking steps to ensure that won't happen in the new Bond film. She has a clause in her contract to prevent it. It's her body, but if you'll do it for $500K you'll do it again, and for less. Especially to stay in Hollywood. (Hollywood.com)

Dec 10: Constantine: The Nicolas Cage film 'Constantine' based on the comic book 'Hellblazer' from Alan Moore is due to begin lensing in March of 2002. Tarsem Singh (the Cell) will direct the film. (scifi wire)

Dec 10: Galactica Update: Production continues, Nicolas Myer is out and Rob Bowman may be the man to sit in the directors chair.

Dec 10: Ghost Ship: The Joel Silver feature 'Ghost Ship' The crew looks to be Gabriel Byrne, Julianna Marguiles, and Isaiah Washington once negotiations are complete. The story is about a group of boat salvagers who come across a 1953 passenger ship drifting in the Bering Sea. Once the crew begins to tow the ship in mysterious things begin to happen aboard the derelict. Gee, this isn't very original. Been done many, many times. If from Joel Silver though, it is likely to be good.

Dec 10: Roswell: This series gets no respect, not even from its stars. Now Majandra Delfino, who plays Maria, has spoken down about the series. When asked about the show swinging from SF to Romance the young actress says... "I try not to think about it. I don't have enough invested in it--I don't think any of us do--to let it frustrate us. The people it must frustrate is the fans." Delfino went on to say in the interview... "For us, the episodes, are our jobs. Rarely do we see the finished product." (ron wolfe) Man, they don't have enough invested in the product. It's their series for crying out loud. They careers, and their opportunities. How can they not have something vested in the series?

Dec 10: Mindhunters: Reuters is reporting that the LL Cool J and Val Kilmer may have Patricia Velasquez join them in the new thriller 'Mindhunters'.

Dec 9: Goonies: 30 year old actor Sean Astin (Rudy, LoTR) told the Zap2It website that he would be willing to return to the Goonies sequel in a heart beat if asked. He also mentioned that no one has spoken with him about the sequel. Astin played Mikey in the original film, 'Goonies' which grossed just over $61M in its release.

Dec 9: First Wave & EFC in January: Miss any First Wave episodes? The Sci-Fi Channel will air the entire 66 episode run in order starting January 2, 2002 weeknights at 8pm. EFC fans can look for the series on the SFC on January 2nd at 7pm, weeknights. Babylon 5 will fill the 5pm time slot during the run for both series. All times are ET/PT

Dec 9: Theatre Buy-up: AMC Ent. Inc. announced Friday it will picking up the cinema chain GC Companies Inc. AMC, in the end, picks up GC's 66 theatres with 621 screens and 17 theatres in South America.

Dec 9: Fehr Finished: Sometimes actors stick more than just their foot in their mouth. This time it's the young Roswell actor (I use the term loosely) Brendan Fehr. He went so far as to tell Zap2It writer Venessa Sibbald that he doesn't enjoy being on Roswell and that he would never say never, but this was his last stint on TV. He will either do movies or go poor. Man, just how unappreciative can someone be for the opportunity of a lifetime to so many people. Jeez...

Dec 9: Hi-Oh Silver, Away!: What about the Lone Ranger? Well, according to the Hollywood Reporter the WB is considering a two-hour telefilm pilot bring the mask rider back to television. If it is anything like Smallville, we may never see the Mask or Silver for that matter. The WB has talked about or has in development... a young Batman and Tarzan series ala Smallville.

Dec 9: VIP on Network TV: If you can believe this, UPN, ABC, and Fox are actually talking with V.I.P.'s producers about taking the series out of syndication and onto primetime network television. Why? This Pamela Anderson series is full of horrible acting and terrible script writing. The only thing going for the series is some serious tits and ass. At least Baywatch had some decent acting. Despite my opinion of the series, the show has done extremely well in the syndicated ratings ever year.

Dec 9: Syndicated Ratings: Ron Wolfe checks in with the Syndie Ratings for November 19th. Number 1- Andromeda 3.2, Mutant X 3.1, Stargate SG-1 2.9, V.I.P. 2.4, Beastmaster 2.2, Earth: Final Conflict 2.0, The Lost World 1.7, Relic Hunter 1.5, Sheena 1.4, The Bravest 1.4, Invisible Man 1.4, Outer Limits 1.4, and Tracker 1.0. (contributor Ron Wolfe)

Dec 9: Fahrenheit 451: The Ray Bradbury book appears next on director Frank Darabonts slate. After the Majestic Darabont plans to take a year off and concentrate on his writing and would love to do Fahrenheit 451.

Dec 8: George & the Dragon: Patrick Swayze and Piper Perabo are in final talks to star in the upcoming 'George & the Dragon' from Carousel Picture Co. The Luxemberg based company has budgeted the film at $32M. The film is to be an action-adventure romantic comedy set in 12th century Britain. Perabo will play the Princess and Swayze the Knight who is suppose to marry her. James Purejoy is already on board slated to play George who is attempting to slay the dragon and save the Princess. Also signed is Michael Clarke Duncan (green mile - planet of the apes) who will play Swayze's moody sidekick. (zap2it.com)

Dec 8: GameCube: Nintendo's new GameCube costs about $279. Whew! I'll pass thanks. Go Xbox.

Dec 8: Joe Somebody: This is a comedy from Tim Allen to possibly stay a way from. The film was rushed into production before it was completely developed due to the impending strike, that never happened. The movie was developed as it was filmed. During the filming 20th Century Fox changed the release date from Valentines Day 2002 to Christmas 2001, causing another change of the tone of the film. Initially slated as a PG-13 film, it has now being re-edited to get the film a simple G rating for children. It was never completely developed and is now to be cut down for children. How can studios be so stupid with big budget films? Tomb Raider, Super Nova, blah, blah, blah... The list is long and far from distinguished.

Dec 8: EFC Comes Onboard: Earth Final Conflict has joined the VHS Cover Sheet area. CLICK HERE  for the cover sheet area.

Dec 8: Dinotopia Site Up: ABC is gearing up for the six hour mini-series 'Dinotopia'. You can now browse the internet site they have put up at visitdinotopia.com. The website will allow users to familiarize themselves with the characters and setting. There is also two children's games on the site. Dinotopia is scheduled to air in May on ABC.

Dec 8: Battlefield Earth: A new Official Website has been launched for the Novel (and not the film) Battlefield Earth from L. Ron Hubbard at battlefieldearth.com. Fans of the novel can submit fan art, download wallpaper and an animation sequence. You can even enter to win $1000 in a site contest. On site you can learn about the Universe of Battlefield Earth. The weapons, the cultures and more. The novel has sold more than 6.5M copies in 25 countries and was voted the number one science fiction novel of the 20th Century by the American Book Readers Association (an email from Bridge Publications) Why wasn't the book made into a 12 hour television mini-series rather than a 2 hour film telling only half the book? Big mistake. The official website has also been added to the 'Great Links' Area of Sci-Fi 2000

Dec 8: Incredible Shrinking Man: It appears that the Eddie Murphy feature 'The Incredible Shrinking Man' comedy feature will likely be directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans according to the Hollywood Reporter.  It is still unclear if the film will be comedy or drama, but with these two onboard any chance of a serious film seems extremely unlikely. The classic film deserves better than some comedy remake by Universal.

Dec 7: Battlestar Galactica: While the project hasn't been given the greenlight by Fox or Studios USA pre- production is continuing at a very slow pace. Production is still in the design stage with Fox reportedly waiting on seeing the final Cylon look before deciding. Fox is also interested in the X-Files feature director Nick Myers direct the telefilm since Bryan Singers departure. They have yet to hear back if he is interested.

Dec 7: No Universal in T3: Universal has dropped out of the bidding war for the distribution rights to the new Terminator 3 feature. Still bidding... Paramount, Dreamworks and Dimension. Where the hell is Sony? Mario Kassar, Andy Vajna and Joel Michaels are seeking about $50M against a percentage of the gross.

Dec 7: Enterprise Scores: Enterprise pulled away slightly from Smallville this week as the two fledgling series have been battling in the ratings. Enterpise scored a 4.5 during the sweeps as Smallville hit a 4.0 rating. X-Files was number one with 5.9 rating. Enterprise was second beating out Dark Angel 4.3, Smallville 4.0, Buffy 3.6, The Tick 3.6, Angel 3.2, Charmed 3.2, and Special Unit 2 with a 2.4. Uh... Roswell scored a 2.1 rating.

Dec 7: Roswell: Roswell may indeed get the final nine episodes greenlit by UPN despite continued poor ratings. Fans would be smart to understand that this is the final season of Roswell.

Dec 7: Daredevil: Aint It Cool News is reporting that Colin Farrell has been tapped to play the role of Bullseye in the upcoming Daredevil film staring Ben Affleck.

Dec 7: Pirates: Did you enjoy the Disney ride 'Pirates of the Carribean'? Director/ Producer Jerry Bruckheimer will produce a feature based on the ride. Why? (dark horizons)

Dec 7: Smallville: Remember the idea of a young Bruce Wayne visiting Smallville? Well it isn't forgotten by the producers and writers, but won't happen until next season if at all, thanks to licensing and business problems. While fans will never see any costumed superheroes in the series you will see Lois Lane and Perry White. And eventually the Kryptonite in ever episode will stop as the true crime type stories start. (Superman Homepage)

Dec 7: Wonder Woman: Coming Soon has reported that Joel Silver's 'Wonder Woman' project was given the greenlight by Warner Brothers. No other details were given by the site. Sandra Bullock is apparently out to star. She got tired of waiting on the Loooong in development project to start.

Dec 7: Iron Man: The Coming Soon website is reporting a rumor that Buffy's 'Joss Whedon' may be inline to direct the Iron Man feature film.

Dec 7: Pearl Harbor: Did I already say 'Oh My God!!!? Just went the through the film again. The Matrix use of effects was fantastic, but the way the effects were used in Pearl Harbor was so fantastic. The camera work on the actors in the cockpits just pulls you right inside with them. Man! It was the most incredible retelling of the a real attack on American Soil. If not pulled in with this overpowering film, there is no humanity left inside you. The performance of everyone in the film was outstanding. Easily, easily one if not THE best film of 2001. I truly enjoyed 'Jurassic Park III' and 'The Mummy Returns'. But this film is truly an historic epic feature film. The love story was added, the two pilots were real, the event done as accurately as possible. Amazing!

Dec 7: Cover Site Change: I have had some questions concerning the size of the cover sheets in the VHS Cover Sheet Area. They were of a quality and size that would allow them to be printed near four times the size or stamp size. They covers will be exactly sized and about 1/15th the file capacity and should download a lot faster for everyone. You will also see a lot more cover additions with Tim Freeman, Colby Deitz and Josh Hadley supplying their work to the area. Enjoy everyone.

Dec 7: Taken Gets Cast: Genre actor 'Eric Close' (Dark Skies & Now&Again) and Michael Moriarity will join the cast of Speilberg's mini-series 'Taken'. Also in the cast is Willie Garson, Ryan Hurst, Rob LaBelle, Anton Yelchin, Catherine Dent, Tina Holmes, Steve Burton, Julie Benz, and Joel Gretch. Ten directors have been hired. The entire 20 hours of Taken was written by Leslie Bohem. Taken will now air on the Sci-Fi Channel after no other network was interested in it.

Dec 7: UPN Flies High: UPN and its executives are practically on cloud nine this season after surpassing all expectations for the season as well as beating out the WB for the November sweeps. It was only a 4.3 to a 4.2 ratings, but after having the WB win the battle the past two seasons it's just icing on the cake.

Dec 6: More VHS Covers: Just added to the site in the last few days cover sheets for, 'Alias', 'Tracker', and 'the Guardian'. Also added was a new Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea cover that I found about a year ago. I have change a few things, but have no idea whose cover it is.

Dec 6: Pearl Harbor DVD: Oh my God! What an incredible movie with the restored footage. Nearly 33 minutes of footage at that. The quality of the transfer to DVD was excellent. The extras? Beyond the deleted and extended scenes of any DVD that... stuff, doesn't really matter. Great to view once or even twice. Beyond that you are simply left with the film. And Pearl Harbor is a film worth watching many times.

Dec 6: Charlie's Angels: Cameron Diaz, who wasn't sure she was interested in doing a sequel, is close to a pact that could earn the actress near the $20M mark. This would make her only the second actress ever to reach that mark set by Julia Roberts. And Diaz doesn't have nearly the track record of Roberts. (movie headlines) Diaz is already scheduled to be paid $10M to voice a character in the upcoming Shrek sequel.

Dec 6: The Agency: In order to add some political intrigue to the fledgling series, producers will add veteran actor Beau Bridges to the CBS spy drama. Bridges will play the new head of the CIA. He will take over the role of Pierce played by Ronny Cox, who is leaving the series. Bridges character will be a war hero who ran for Congress. He will be an Eliot Ness style character shaking things up.

Dec 5: Star Wars Trilogy: Why the delay releasing the first three films to DVD? Lucas tells Post Magazine that it's because there isn't that much behind the scenes footage or deleted scenes from when those films were done. VHS wasn't even a big thing then. It Makes it harder to put together a DVD Package. At some point this film makers will realize that fans just want their films on DVD and all the extras are great, but not required to add the film to our collections.

Dec 5: Prey News: I am hearing rumors that things may be moving along for a PREY Comeback. What will it take? Fans of the series dropped an email, it is time again for fans of the series to give a push to the Sci-Fi Channel with cards, letters, and filling the email slot. Time to once again dig in the heels and get working. It only takes a few minutes to drop an email. If YOU want to see "PREY" return and get 'Tom's Story' told. Do it today!

Dec 5: Tim Freeman: Sci-Fi 2000 would like to welcome Tim Freeman to the VHS Cover Sheet Area as a contributor. His first two pieces to the site will be for 'Alias', and 'the Guardian'. Both covers are expected to become part of the site tomorrow. Tim joins Colby Deitz and Josh Hadley as contributors to this area.

Dec 5: the Punisher: Comics2Film has published the news that writer Michael France has already turned in a script for the new Punisher, a low budget film. France is familiar with comic writing as he has done drafts for the Hulk and the Fantastic Four. The writer admits to having turned in a couple of drafts for the Punisher to Marvel and Artisan. It was originally rumored that the film would be a direct to video but France says there has been no talk of that and every conversation he has been involved with appears headed to the feature path. The budget is looking to be in the $20M range. Quite a bit more than a direct to video release.

Dec 5: Julia Roberts to Shake Boobies: Looks like after using butt doubles Julia Roberts will bare all in her next film for Steven Soderbergh's next film. It is unclear how much nudeness there will be - but it will have a least a full frontal.

Dec 5: Andromeda #1: Andromeda is still fighting it out with Mutant X, Stargate SG-1, and X-File repeats. But the second year series remains in the number one spot this year. It will be interesting to see the changes that will take place that will keep the present fans happy as well as bringing in new fans. Mutant X are keeping their show hot on the heels of the top spot in their first season. Kevin Sorbo's series scored a 3.0 and the Mutants scored a 2.9. Neither series this season has broken the into the mid 3's this year.

Dec 5: Scorpion Filming Again?: Mid-January will find the film-makers returning to continue re-shoots for the 'Scorpion King'. Filming was halted to accommodate the Rocks wrestling schedule. Universal still hopes for an April 2002 release.

Dec 5: 24 for 24: Fox has gone out on a limb and given the go a head for the remaining 11 episodes of the season, which allows the series 24 to complete their story.

Dec 4: Terminator 3: Arnold Swartzenegger may actually fuck over the production of T3 by taking $30M to do the picture. Arnold can no longer fill a theatre with just his name, or even good picture like 'the Sixth Day'. I cannot believe a production company can dump that much into an actor no longer at his Hollywood Peak. Where do you draw the line?

Dec 4: Stargate: Atlantis: Ron Wolfe checks in with some news that Stargate fans might be excited about. MGM is actively shopping their Stargate: Atlantis series to cable and syndication runs. This confirms that MGM is going ahead with its spin-off series. Where might the new series air? It will likely take the place of Stargate SG-1 on Fox owned-and-operated stations in syndication. But if MGM sells the show to a cable network as well, Atlantis will most likely see its first run on The Sci-Fi Channel or Showtime. The former seems more likely, especially if the sixth season of SG-1 pulls in good ratings for the basic cable network. The site reported that MGM is preparing to launch the new series next fall, though STARGUIDE has previously confirmed that the new show will follow the next Stargate movie -- which won't begin filming until next fall, at the earliest. Atlantis could premiere as early as the fall of 2003. (from Ron Wolfe)

Dec 4: Stargate SG-1: Fox owned-and-operated stations across the United Sates have picked up Stargate SG-1 for two more years in syndication, bringing the series to a close with the airing of Season Six in 2003-2004. The series continues to do well in syndication ratings, regularly placing in the top three in the first-run hour category." The show continues to perform at levels that justify this kind of renewal," MGM Domestic TV Executive Vice President Jim Packer said. The show is broadcast by Fox affiliate stations in most markets, but not all. The Sci-Fi Channel will strip the show (airing it four or five nights a week) beginning in the fall of 2002. It's not yet known exactly how MGM's deal with Sci-Fi will affect SG-1's syndication run, though this new deal implies that Sci-Fi will only show Seasons One through Four while Season Five airs in syndication. Season Six will get its first airing on The Sci-Fi Channel beginning next June. (Ron Wolfe)  Also of note is that Showtime will NOT be airing new episodes in January.

Dec 4: Indiana Jones Rights: An anonymous source tells Raider.net that Paramount's rights to the Indiana Jones saga has expired and that Lucas can get the rights back, though Paramount will still own the Trilogy unless Lucas wants to purchase them from Paramount. Big deal. Ford is too old to be Indiana Jones, and everyone else is to busy to get together and get the picture done.

Dec 3: Animated Batman: 'Batman, the animated series is coming to DVD may be the only good news about it. It will not be a seasonal or complete series boxed set, but a mere disc with just five eps on it. And THAT won't be until March of 2002. (ToonZone)

Dec 3: Terminator 3: According to variety it was expected that Schwarzenegger and director Jonathan Mostow would sign onto the project immediately once the film had been given the greenlight, but so far neither one has signed the contract yet. They will sign though, and soon. Zap2It is reporting that with a planned 2003 release date nearly every studio is angling for the domestic distribution rights to the film. Why? Well T2 grossed over $520M worldwide. And negotiations will include home video distribution rights to the first two films and the third one, leading to a trilogy boxed set. The first two films were distributed by defunct companies. Orion did the first film, and Tri-star the second one. Now the budget is expected to expand beyond the $170M mark.

Dec 3: Roswell In Trouble: Dean Valentine told Variety that due to the series lackluster ratings that UPN could and may well cut the full season of 22 episodes down to 19 or may just stick with the guaranteed 13 episode commitment. In a week or two the final decision will be made.

Dec 3: Dune 2 on the Move: Come April the Sci-Fi Channel will begin production on the Dune sequel titled 'Children of Dune'. They will be filming at the Prague Studios for 16 weeks. Script writer John Harrison who wrote and directed the first film, was to do the sequel but it is now unclear whether he will return.

Dec 2: Law & Order VHS: The new VHS Covers for Law & Order, and Law & Order: Special Victims unit were added today. CLICK HERE  for the VHS Area

Dec 2: VHS Covers for Nov: November was a great month for the VHS Cover Sheet area. 6 older covers were removed and a whopping 19 Cover Sheets were added which included, 24, the Agency, a new Beauty and the Beast, Batman Beyond, Enterprise, Lost World and Miami Vice. CLICK HERE for the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

Dec 2: Ghost World:  'Ghost World' will hit DVD stores in March of 2002. It will include the making of Ghost World short along with delete and alternate scenes.

Dec 2: Andromeda to Wrap: Production of Season 2, of the hit series Andromeda, wraps up in a few weeks, with the final episode being put together and delivered in March of 2002. Fans should make sure they stick around for the entire run this year. There will be an ending and a new beginning that will be worth the wait for the fans. Hopefully taking the series in a new direction and attract an even larger audience. (Jim Finn - SFX supervisor for Andromeda and Special Unit 2)

Dec 1: Superboy: A request comes from fans of the Superboy series from several years ago. Fans of the series have started a petition to get the series on DVD. You can support their effort by going to the Superboy Petition Page

Dec 1: Site Update: well folks, it's been another great month for Sci-Fi 2000. Over 165gb of data transferred for December and nearly 76,000 pageviews with 1.2 million raw hits. Thanks for another great month people. Can't thank you all enough for coming to the site.

Dec 1: New Covers: Two more covers are coming... in Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Hopefully they'll be up tomorrow.
