JUNE 30: Witchblade Marathon: TNT will be airing a six-hour marathon of the new Witchblade series on July 8 from 4pm to 10pm est.

JUNE 30: Blade 2: Director Guillermo Del Toro told Screen International Magazine that this Blade will be much creepier than the original film. He is interested in making vampires scary again claiming they have become gothic romance heroes.

JUNE 30: V the DVD: In just a few days 'V' the original mini-series is due to hit the shelves. Unfortunately for the fans of the mini-series it is only the first part, and listed at a mere 117 minutes. It is listed as widescreen with almost no extras. Some special edition. It is to be retailed at $19.99. I won't pay that for only the first part.

JUNE 30: AMD Anyone?: Dell computers is FINALLY asking its customers if they would prefer computers with AMD processors. Currently Dell is a 100% Intel chip user and its founder/CEO Michael Dell has often been an idiot and bashed on AMD, claiming the AMD Athlon as an unproven chip. On the ZDNet voting on which is better, AMD or INTEL, nearly 75% of the 14000 people who voted prefer AMD over the Intel product. Dell, Gateway, Micron and Compaq I'm sorry-oh computers are extremely overpriced companies. You want a quality computer? Check you area for the closest computer show. They have wonderful systems equal to these companies at nearly one-third the price. Even with their so called sales they catch match the price of computer shows.

JUNE 30: A.I. Bombs: A special screening in Europe failed to WOW anyone who saw it. Could mean trouble for the film which hit theatres yesterday here in the states.

JUNE 30: Singing Galactica: No, Battlestar Galactica's new series isn't going to be a musical, but it will have a Singer behind the camera. X-Men director Brian Singer will be directing the two-hour pilot movie and will be co-executive producer of the series.

JUNE 30: PREY Tell: Things are starting to heat up with the short lived series 'PREY', which ended in a cliff-hanger. Read the newest article about PREY at 'Click Here' for the site LeisureHive. PREY is going to get revived... if the fans have anything to say about it. A wonderful article.

JUNE 29: Galactica on FOX?: Yep, Fox TV has ordered a two-hour telefilm based on the 70's series 'Battlestar Galactica' from Studios USA. The movie will stand as the pilot for the series which will air jointly on Fox as well as the Sci-Fi Channel. The new series is scheduled for part of the 2002/2003 season.

JUNE 29: Celebrity and Film Auction: Fleetwood Owen's '...At The Movies' auction is now online at http://www.fleetwoodowen.com, where commission bids can be placed. It will then culminate in a 'live' auction on the 31st July at Planet Hollywood, London. They have original production blueprints from the 1977 movie 'Star Wars', an R2-D2 production drawing from the 'Star Wars', signed photos of the cast and more (see lots 136-143). They also have items from the movies, 'Aliens', 'The Highlander', 'Star Trek' and the television series 'Thunderbirds' amongst others. Click the link to check them out.

JUNE 29: Brosnan Is Bond: A source near the production has said that Pierce Brosnan is 'James Bond' as long as he wants to stay. However, despite not looking his age, Brosnan will be nearly 50 by the time the film is released and many inside the franchise believe Bond should be younger. Of course EON is denying any reports of a new James Bond being sought or signed. (dark horizons)

JUNE 29: Stargate SG-1: Season five begins tonight on Showtime. This season will mark the 100th episode on its episode 12 broadcast. The series films in Vancouver, and the crew have already completed 13 of the this seasons 22 episodes. They are waiting on word for season six, which is more than likely to happen.

JUNE 29: Legend:UE: The Ultimate Edition of Ridley Scott's 'Legend' starring Tom Cruise is scheduled to hit shelves August 21st. This DVD package contains tons of material, as well as a different cut of the film. A must have for any DVD collection.

JUNE 29: NBCi closing?: Just got an interesting email from NBCi letting me know how easy it is to move an NBCi site, which I haven't had since it was XOOM.com, to Homestead. Looks like the crappy Homestead has purchased NBCi hosting, which bought out XOOM.

JUNE 29: Spy Kids II: Production has yet to start on the sequel to Spy Kids and Scary Movie 2 hasn't hit the theatres yet, but the Network rights have already been bought up by the ABC television network. ABC has agreed to 15% of the gross for the rights, with a $25M cap for each sequel. The 'R' rated version of 'Scary Movie 2' is already set up to be hacked to death for an ABC showing in the first quarter of 2004.

JUNE 29: Pitch Black 2: David Hayter (X-Men) is penning the script on the Vin Diesel sequel titled 'the Chronicles of Riddick'. Production is scheduled to begin in August. (late show with Craig Kilborn)

JUNE 29: New Galactica:  Producers of the new series, Billy Brown and Dan Angel, told the Sci-Fi Wire that some of the characters from the 70's version of the series will be revived. Which ones though is still in discussion. The two hour pilot script is currently

JUNE 29: Boxed Sets!: Where the hell are the old genre series boxed sets? Yunno the ones I am talking about... Logan's Run - 15 eps, Battlestar Galactica - 22 eps, Tales of the Gold Monkey 22 eps, Werewolf 29 half-hour eps, Mann & Machine 9 eps, Space Rangers 6 eps, and Highwayman, Viper, M.A.N.T.I.S., Misfits of Science, Buck Rogers, Something is Out There, Time Trax, War of the Worlds, and others.... Where the hell are these boxed sets? Complete series boxed sets at reasonable prices would be sold off the shelf. Most of these are short lived series that will seldom be shown anywhere except... the sci-fi channel once in a blue moon.

JUNE 29: WerewolfTV: You folks remember the short lived Fox series 'Werewolf'? If you do and thought you enjoyed it 14 years ago, then check out  the WerewolfTV website as it celebrates its first anniversary on the world wide web. Click the link above to access the website.

JUNE 29: Sci-Fi Fonts: If your looking for a genre font for a piece of work or to add to your collection then check out the Sci-Fi Fonts area. There are over 200 genre fonts available for download. Click the link...

JUNE 29: Underrated Films: There are hundreds of underrated films out there. Some were released at the box office and others went directly to video. Are you looking for something different to watch this weekend? Tonight maybe? The check out the Underrated Films section and pick out something you haven't seen in a while or something new. Lots of great movies to watch...

JUNE 28: Alias: The new ABC series 'Alias' stars Jennifer Garner (pearl harbor) and will unfortunately air opposite of Fox's ninth season of ... 'the X-Files'.  The promos for the series have looked very interesting but will it be able to pull in the audience. Alias is a CIA action/drama.

JUNE 28: UPN's New $$$$: UPN may actually be the network to watch this season with Buffy, Roswell, and the new Enterprise series premiering this fall. UPN will make 250M in profit this year in advertising money. That's $50M more than last year. 25% of their deals already are with new advertisers. Normally UPN is stuck with what is left after the other networks are finished selling their slots. Many advertisers made the switch with Buffy and are getting the spots cheaper than they did with the WB.

JUNE 28: Stupid as a Stone: The Stone vs Vajna/Kassar lawsuit was reported weeks ago, but here's the update. This person/actor, I use the term loosely, filed the suit for $100M (15% of the anticipated growth). She claims a verbal agreement guaranteed her the money, and she passed on several other jobs while getting ready to do the picture.  That's part of the business baby. No picture, no money.

JUNE 28: Luke Cage: Kevin Feige, Senior Vice President Marvel Studios, couldn't talk about the details of rumors concerning filmmaker John Singleton coming on board, but did say... "Singleton is a big fan of Luke Cage, and we're a big fan of his." The project does not yet have a studio but New Line Cinema appears not to be doing the movie. (comics2film)

JUNE 27: The Prisoner: Simon West's long in development feature based on the TV Series... 'The Prisoner' may have a lead in Clive Owens who is up for the role. (now magazine - dark horizons)

JUNE 27: Xena Gives Head: Fans of Xena: Warrior Princess are really pissed off! The two-hour season finale found the beloved Xena  was beheaded by Japanese soldiers after being shot in the back with arrows. Critics enjoyed the finale saying it held try to the storyline while fans were... outraged.  A truly terrible ending for fans who have dedicated six years to watching their hero. Co-creator and producers Rob Tapert says the reaction is exactly what was expected.

JUNE 27: Comic DVD Ads: Marvel Comics is pushing the envelope and will certainly upset many DVD owners who loathe commercials. Well, Marvel will be placing some trailers on upcoming DVD titles to push their comic books. And we all know these commercials won't be at the end of the movie.

JUNE 27: Gated Artisan: Lion's Gate, who acquired distributor 'Trimark' in October, is trying to now pick up Artisan Entertainment. They have been hot for this property for a while, but are weary of overspending for it after the critics it received after the Trimark deal.

JUNE 27: Willow DVD: The new special edition DVD will have the standard extras as well as being digitally remastered. However, the film will NOT have deleted scenes restored in the or even included on the disc. It's release is tentatively scheduled for November 27th.

JUNE 27: Matrix 'R': Fans needn't worry about the Matrix sequels getting watered down. Producer Joel Silver says he won't be softening the films violent content to please the studio. Silver is proud they aren't making these films for children. Both films will be rated 'R'.

JUNE 27: Truck 44: Fox 2000 is negotiating to pick up the rights to 'Truck 44' for Peter Berg (Vertical Limit) to direct from his own script. The story is about a group of New York firefighters who decide to rob a building and end up setting it on fire, and have to deal with the ramifications. The project originally had only one lead, but Berg has rewritten the script with two leads.

JUNE 27: No Cop 4: Eddie Murphy, who played Axel Foley in the three 'Beverly Hills Cop' features has confirmed to the Sun Times that he has turned down the fourth adventure. Says Murphy, "I'm not thinking about it right now."

JUNE 27: Another Prequel!: Now it appears that Crouching Tiger will be getting a prequel. Big mistake, huge, enormous. If a prequel was such a good idea, why the hell didn't you do the damn thing first? You gotta hate features that do prequels. Lucas never should have done his... either.

JUNE 27: Blanchett Goes Genre: Actor Kate Blanchett is expecting her first child soon, and is negotiating to co-star with Brad Pitt in director Darren Aronofsky's still untitled sci-fi project. The project is being kept a secret but is a priority on Warner Brothers projects. She will be appearing in the upcoming first installment of Peter Jackson's 'Lord of the Rings'.

JUNE 27: Terminator Super DVD: The new DVD Special Edition will be incredible. The mono sound track will be digitally redone in 5.1. The picture quality will be cleaned up and presented in widescreen format. A newly re-edited documentary, DELETED SCENES, and a CD Rom version of the script. And... an audio track by James Cameron.

JUNE 26: Halloween Re-Shoot: Halloween: The Homecoming is getting an ending re-shoot. It isn't because they come up with a better ending. It has do with the original ending costing to much money in SFX dollars.

JUNE 26: Phantom of the Opera: The Ben Elton's script is complete and casting is to get underway very soon. (dark horizons)

JUNE 26: New Bond Guy?: Gerald Butler has confirmed that Barbara Broccoli has talked with him about taking the reins of 'James Bond' after Pierce Brosnan leaves the role. But he told her he would only do it, IF... Ann Widdecombe gets to be his Bond girl.   Big Mistake! I would much rather see 'Adrian Paul' step into the role for two or three pictures.

JUNE 26: Mummy Undercover: Mummy Return star 'Oded Fehr' has signed on to join the cast of the new NBC drama 'UC Undercover'. He played the American Gigolo on vacation in 'Duece Bigalow'.

JUNE 26: Drive Vin Drive: For his role in the fist week hit movie 'the Fast and the Furious' actor Vin Diesel attended Stunt Driving school here in Las Vegas. Director Rob Cohen says this was Diesel's make or break role and he did it. Says Cohen, "Vin's not a pretty boy. As Arnold Swatzennegger and his ilk get older, there's a vacuum Vin can fill.''

JUNE 25: Tracker Update: In an email from co-executive producer Grant Rosenberg, he wanted me to let the Adrian Paul and genre fans know that his new series from creator Gil Grant, 'TRACKER', has been given the official 'GO' and will start production July 30 in Toronto. Mr. Rosenberg and Peter Lenkov will remain in Los Angeles to work on scripts, etc. The new series already has ten scripts in work and should have a dozen or so ready before production begins.  Tracker is in the midst of picking up a female lead (co-star with Adrian Paul) as well as the rest of the cast. Also, they are on the verge of hiring the first episode director who will help set the look of the series.    Adrian plays an alien "tracker" who has come to Earth to locate and "neutralize" hundreds of alien fugitives who have escaped from a distant prison in a far off galaxy. Adrian's character, Ben, is the ultimate fish out of water, and ends up living with a fiery, opinionated young woman, Mel Romano, who owns a bar in Chicago (where the series is set).  Their relationship is akin to that of David and Maddie in Moonlighting, except for obvious difference that Ben is from another planet! (email from Grant Rosenberg)

JUNE 25: Fast & the Furious $$$: Vin Diesel's new action flick 'Fast & the Furious' is number one at the box office this weekend taking in a most impressive $41.6M over the three days. Dr. Dolittle 2, did little at the box office opening up in second place with $26.7M.

JUNE 25: X-Files Trivia: Did you know that Jennifer Beals, aka Flashdance, turned down the Gillain Anderson's role as Scully? David Duchovny, who she went to school with, had urged her to take the role. Well, she said no... Big Mistake! (page six)

JUNE 25: Dead Tomb: Tomb Raider dropped 58% at the box office in it second week. Word of mouth is already killing this dismal Simon West flick.

JUNE 24: Buck Rogers?: Why not a Buck Rogers feature film? This is a workable theme that could be a totally serious film. It would make for an opportunity for a decent film franchise, especially with some big names attached. The hold up is likely 'Glenn A. Larsen' just sitting on the copyright.

JUNE 24: Dead Scorpion: It appears that the Sci-Fi Channel has killed the scorpion in the series 'Black Scorpion'.  Pazaz Entertainment has it on its cancelled list but the Sci-Fi Wire, part of the scifi channel, has not reported the shows demise. Hopefully Corman hasn't spent the cash doing the 44 more episodes he had talked about.

JUNE 24: Jules Verne Still a Secret: The new fledgling series 'The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne' has also been given its walking papers. The series never found its audience in the U.S. and the Sci-Fi Channel ratings were never very good. The series is apparently still a secret.

JUNE 24: Pee Wee Knows Jack: Paul Reubens, aka Pee Wee Herman,  is hosting a new TV game show that did really well its opening night called, 'You Don't Know Jack'. The show, based on the CD Rom game, scored a 3.3 rating share or 7.9M viewers.  Oh Pee Wee!

JUNE 24: Driven to TNT/TBS: Warner Brothers has sold the network rights for 'Driven', 'Exit Wounds', 'Angel Eyes' and 'the Dish'. Turner will pay $16M total for the rights to begin airing them 'December 2003'.

JUNE 24: the Lost World: The official website has been down for over three days now.

JUNE 24: Union Talks: Like every other Union, they've waited until the last minute to shift talks into high gear. With only one week to go before the contract deadline these bozos have decided to stop pussyfooting around and take steps to get a new deal done. Probably one that will cripple the studios and break the networks. Actors are already making way to much money. Will the big actors take less so the poor young actors make more? Nope.

JUNE 24: National Orgasm Day: A British sex shop chain has declared July 31st as the National Orgasm Day. How the hell can you do that when a survey showed that 80% of the women out there fake their orgasm during sex? There slogan is... 'Make It, Don't Fake It'

JUNE 23: Gene Pool: The comic book 'Gene Pool' from Marv Wolfman and Len Wein is being developed into a feature film after four picture companies went in together to purchase the movie rights. It will be a live-action English-language film with the same name. Haven't heard of the comic? Don't worry, it has never been published, but will likely be now in the near future.

JUNE 23: Lord Trilogy Long: Peter Jackson is aiming to make his trilogy running time 10 hours, which would break the trilogy record held by 'the Godfather' at just over nine hours. This would figure to each Rings feature near the 3hr 20min time frame. (dark horizons)

JUNE 23: Overpaid & Under Worked: Salaries for actors and sports stars is ridiculous today. Kelsey Grammer, the 46 year old actor who plays 'Kramer' has signed on for two more seasons at a whopping $1.6M per episode. His two year deal is worth $75M. Stupid! And like with sports, who pays... the fans/viewers, that's who. Drew Carey's new two-year deal with syndication costs could be worth $60M for him. Where do you draw the line? No one, for ANY job, is worth that much money.

JUNE 23: Roswell: The first episode of season three on UPN will be directed from producer, and Trek actor, Jonathan Frakes. Malinda Metz, who wrote the original 'Roswell High' has joined the shows writing staff.

JUNE 23: Crazy Fans: A British fan converted his one bedroom apartment into the Enterprise at a cost of $11,300. The apartment now includes a command console and windows reshaped to look like portholes. The centerpiece of his Enterprise home is a three dimensional ceiling with an 'infinity' mirror at the center. There are things you can take a bit to far.

JUNE 23: Planet of... Secrecy: Tim Burton is re-shooting some scenes in the UK. Reportedly he is re-shooting some changes for the end of the film. Either there are some problems with the end, or Burton is trying to throw a curve ball to the fans and surprise them. I'm hoping for the latter idea. With Tomb Raider being horrible, and the reviews of Rollerball being dismal, and problems with the Time Machine remake, we don't need any monkey-ing around.

JUNE 22: Dr. Strange: David Goyer, who has written many scripts for some great films, may be taking the helm in an upcoming Marvel feature, 'Doctor Strange'. He has been talking with Dimension regarding the job. His getting the gig will depend largely on how his 'Murder Mysteries' goes, which he is writing and directing.

JUNE 22: Lost World Troubles Continue?: It may just be the server is down, but the official website is not accessible at this time. This coming after the announcement that its Canadian funding was pulled and the series was searching for American investors. It could be a bad omen for the return of the series if the site was actually pulled. Let's just hope the server is down.

JUNE 22: Diablo II: The expansion set from Blizzard Entertainment has gone gold surpassing orders for over two million copies. It will be available at retail outlets June 29.

JUNE 22: III Dinos better than II:  Sam Neil, who reprises his role from the first film, believes the Jurassic Park III is better than the last one. God, I hope so. The second one wasn't that good to begin with. Jurassic Park III opens in theatres July 20. Everyone is talking about how much better the dinosaurs are in the new film compared with the first one. And they were awesome.

JUNE 22: The Shining Mini-Series: There were two conditions that had to be met before the mini-series could be release on video.  Two years had to pass (it's been four) or the mini-series had to air on television twice. Well it has been four years and the film has now aired twice by hitting the Sci-Fi Channel airwaves this week. There still is no word on the mini-series hitting DVD in the near future, but now talks can begin. At one point a little over a year ago, the mini-series was being sold on the internet for $50 to $80. There is some market for it, should it hit the shelves in the U.S.

JUNE 22: Getting Illustrated: Writer Ray Bradbury will be scripting his 'Illustrated Man' short stories for a two-hour Sci-Fi Channel movie, which is being produced by Columbia TriStar TV.  Ray Bradbury is 81 years old and has at least five pieces of material in various stages of development and three books coming out soon.

JUNE 22: Witchblade Success: The new maxi-series from TNT, 'Witchblade' is the only cable series ranked in the top 15 for the week of June 11 thru 17th. The Yancy Butler series was number seven with a 2.1 rating share or 2.18 Million Homes.

JUNE 22: Enterprise Cast: Issue 275 of Starburst Magazine will introduce the new cast of 'Enterprise'. It should already be out in the UK and should hit shelves here in the US soon. (section 31)

JUNE 22: Martian Chronicles: Frank Darabont has signed on to direct two Ray Bradbury projects from Mel Gibson's Icon Productions with 'Fahrenheit 451' and 'the Martian Chronicles'. (variety)

JUNE 22: Brosnan's Thunder: 48 year old 007 actor, Pierce Brosnan will star in the upcoming Ray Bradbury project 'Sound of Thunder' which is budgeted at $80M.

JUNE 22: Buck Rogers VideoCD: A VCD cover, back and CDR label have been added to the site for download.

JUNE 21Shrek Bucks: The animated feature 'Shrek' is the first feature to break $200M this summer.

JUNE 21: Babylon 5 Covers: I have added VideoCD front and back covers to the site along with a VideoCD front for Poltergeist, the Legacy. This now gives B5 a front, back and CDR label. Also on site is the recent addition of the Logan's Run and a new Buck Rogers set of covers/labels for download.

JUNE 21: Willow SE: This is probably George Lucas' most underrated film, which even he has said he is sorry he made. However, it appears that the Willow will be getting a two disc special edition DVD set.

JUNE 21: No Indiana Jones DVD?: There is a rumor that the Indiana Jones DVD are in the preliminary stages, however nothing is set in stone and there has been no announcement from Fox or Lucasfilm on it. Hard to believe that George Lucas continues to screw over the fans who really want both Indiana Jones and the Star Wars trilogy on DVD. He just doesn't care about the fans.

JUNE 21: Turtles Get  Woo'd: Believe it or not John Woo who directed 'Mission Impossible 2' and 'Face/Off' is developing a computer animated feature based on the $4B 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' franchise. Woo thinks it one of the greatest action adventure properties ever. Co-creator Peter Laird says the picture will return the shelled heroes back to their darker edgier comic book roots. The budget you ask? Try between $40M and $60M with a tentative Christmas 2002 release.  There is no studio attached to the project yet to co-finance or distribute the project. The original comics were awesome.

JUNE 21: Ghost in a Cage: Nicholas Cage has started  negotiations to star in Dimension's 'Ghost Rider'. This will be Dimension's largest budgeted picture to date at $75M.  David Goyer has delivered the script and the studio is happy with it.

JUNE 20: Leeshocks Fans: Current EFC star, Robert Leeshock will be telling his official fan site that he is leaving the series and will not return in season five. (syfy portal) This move was expected as Leeshock had been auditioning for other roles this off season.  With the character of Boone returning from season one, it seemed unlikely that the series would have two lead males.

JUNE 20: Blade 2: the release date is tentatively set for February, 2002. The sequel features wire work and heavy action oriented scenes. The film features reapers, who are half ghost devil type creatures that can fly. Whistler will actually die again when actor Matt Schultz's character named Chupa, beats Kris Kristofferson's character to death.

JUNE 20: Spiderman Hacked: Coming Attractions is reporting that Spiderman's budget is up around the $150M mark, which has caused the film to have 500 FX shots had to be cut. (darkhorizons)

JUNE 20: The Talisman: Once to be a feature film directed by Steven Spielberg, the Talisman (Stephen King) is now headed to the Sci-Fi Channel as a four-hour mini-series. Mick Garris who is currently writing the script and will also direct. He has already directed 'the Stand' and 'the Shining' TV mini-series. Garris says the film will be slightly watered down but true to the novel.

JUNE 20: Quality Animatronics: Stan Winston and Jurassic Park 3 will be giving fans the most extensive animatronic creature yet with the new Spinosaur. The robot weighs 25000lbs and has about 42 moves. The two foot teddy bear created for A.I. by Stan Winston has fifty points of motion. Winston said this isn't due to any technological breakthroughs but experience with the current technology. Stan Winston had originally wanted to 'Planet of the Apes', bad, but it went to Rick Baker, and Stan Winston ended up with a full slate anyways. (cinescape)

JUNE 20: Invisible Man: Swimming with Sharks director George Huang recently helmed an episode of the Sci-Fi Channel's 'Invisible Man' series.

JUNE 20: Terminator 3: the Others writer 'John Brancato' along with Michael Ferris have been hired to rewrite the script for Terminator 3. The original script has Arnolds T800 older model taking on the new female model which can change shape as well as disappear completely. How these writers will change the script I don't know. It is possible the script will be written to include a character that Vin Diesel will play with the other Terminator more in the background. The working title for the feature seems to be... 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines'.

JUNE 20: Star Wars DVD: The new episode one DVD will have a price of $29.98 in the U.S. and Canadians get the shaft with a price of $41.98.

JUNE 20: Halloween extended DVD: The new DVD from Anchor video will have 12 minutes of footage restored. The extended footage was shot two years after the 1978 original for its TV premiere. He shot the extended footage in 1980 while filming Halloween 2. The disc will retail at $24.98.

JUNE 19Big October: October will see the DVD release of 'the Mummy Returns' as well as Fox giving the fans 'Star Wars: Episode 1' on DVD.  Also in October will be Disney's 'Snow White' and 'the Godfather'.

JUNE 19: Parasyte: Oscar nominated production designer 'Bo Welch' has been signed to co-direct - Parasyte - a buddy comedy about aliens invading the earth in the form of seeds. When the seeds land on something living, they become an alien. The feature is based on the Japanese comic book. Welch will work on the film with Matt Drake.

JUNE 19: The Breed: Starz will pay about $1M for the domestic pay TV rights to Sony's low budget film 'Breed' which stars the Highlander 'Adrian Paul' (who also stars in the upcoming syndicated series Trackers) as a vampire cop. Paul, and about 4000 other vampires want to co-exist with the humans, but first he must hunt down a renegade vampire who is murdering people. The feature airs on Starz July 19 as part of its 'Thursday Night Rush' line-up.

JUNE 19: Inferno: Warner Bros. has paid in the mid-six figures for the action-adventure picture 'Inferno' from writers Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman. Warner picked up the film for Silver Productions to produce with Top Cow Productions. It is to be a heavy special effects pictures about 12 flawed men who must through the gates of hell and close them before hell is released on Earth. Another 'End of Days' flick?

JUNE 19: TV Movies Croak: The big three networks will see a huge decline in 'TV Movies' they order, due to cost and lack of storylines. A TV Movie may cost the network $3M and they could do two one hour series, news show or reality series and stay under $2.2M for the same time span. Plus the networks believe people are to busy to set aside the two hour block for a movie. Plus the cable and pay per view channels are able to do the same type of works with feature film actors and do it without friggin' commercials every five minutes.

JUNE 19: The Crow: Edward Pressman has been talking about 'The Crow 4' and has yet to mention the once talked about return of the syndicated series 'The Crow: Stairway to Heaven'. If the Crow 4 is made, it will NOT be the Lazarus theme as earlier predicted  one starring DMX. If it happens it will likely be with a female lead. They are also looking for a name director. (comics2film) Forget the 'B' movie crap and get back to the series which had good ratings when it got axed.

JUNE 18: Rangers Launched: The Sci-Fi Channel has launched it official 'Legend of the Rangers' website for the upcoming pilot movie. CLICK HERE to check it out.

JUNE 18: X-Men Update: Lauren Shuler Donner, the producer of the new sequel has told the C.H.U.D. website that the Sentinels and new mutants from the comic series will be making an appearance in the upcoming sequel. She said fans can at least expect to see, the Beast. Production is hoped to begin in March.

JUNE 18: Jurassic 3: Producer Kathleen Kennedy is extremely happy with Joe Johnston's 'Jurassic Park 3', which is really the second film, since it takes place before 'The Lost World: Jurassic Park'.  Of course fans must take her views with a grain of salt. Like any producer is going to say... "This is the shittiest picture I have produced. I wouldn't waste my money to see it." Do you think anyone associated with the film would say that? Ah.... Naaaahhhhhh.

JUNE 17: Apple Is Not Satan: Apple computer has stepped up and decided not to allow the 'church of satan' website to use the 'made with Macintosh' emblem on their site. These guys will not be the new poster boy for Apple computers. Apple had reserved the right to use its trademark on Web pages in poor taste or disparaging to Apple, according to the letter distributed  by the companies lawyers.

JUNE 17: Laura Croft Number One: With the critics coming down on the film, Angelina Jolie and her new Tomb Raider opened the weekend with the number one spot. The new film more than doubled the take of second place animated film 'Atlantis' taking in $48M.  Second week film 'Swordfish' dropped to number four as Shrek maintained with Shrek.

JUNE 17: Sci-Fi 2000 Update: Lots of material has been added to the site recently. The Sci-Fi Fonts area is up and running. A horror script, Nightfeeder, has been added, Channel News with the latest series and mini-series has been updated. New VCD labels have been added to the site and the Video Dubbing area has been updated as well. There is more here for the fans, than just the news... Check it out.

JUNE 17: Summer of Shit?: Every summer movie fans get big budget shit. Back to back shit may be happening now with features such as 'Atlantis' and 'Tomb Raider'. Disney turns out a piece of standard animation that can't touch 'Titan A.E.' for quality. Simon West appears to have once again turned out another crappy feature film. It was too good to be true with the start of the summer and The Mummy 2, Shrek, and Swordfish. Not the fun begins. How to spend that movie money wisely.

JUNE 17: Robocop PD: A reminder for U.S. fans, we will finally get to see the Robocop: Prime Directives mini-series July 16 - 19th. @ 9pm & 11pm. Hopefully the DVD will not be to far behind.

JUNE 16: No Indy IV: George Lucas still has yet to work a deal with Paramount Studios. Until he does, a writer cannot be hired to script the project. This means that production will not be starting anytime during 2002. I think he is too busy with the Phantom Edits to worry about Indiana Jones. Sure will be nice to see an 80 year old Harrison Ford saving artifacts for a museum.

JUNE 16: Logan's Run: Runners beware, Logan's Run has joined the series in the VCD area. There is a CDR label, VCD cover; front and back. Check Them Out. The VideoCD area is getting large with lots of your favorite series. More are on the way all the time. Looking for a specific series, drop me an email. If you have some quality images to share with me drop me an email. Can't do the covers without them.

JUNE 16: More Knightly News 2: David Hasselhoff has also told Entertainment Weekly that he plans to produce a new weekly Knight Rider series in which Michael Knight comes out of retirement, hires a couple of kids and fires up K.I.T.T. to battle the baddies one more time. Hopefully it will be more character stories instead what the car can do stories.

JUNE 16: Hellboy: Vin Diesel may not be attached to the project, but he is willing to read the script and see if he wants to be. (comics2film)

JUNE 16: Lord it's Serious: Traci Lords, co-star of the cancelled series 'First Wave', has a new beau she is serious about. She won't reveal his name yet, but has been dating the man for 8 months. Traci Elizabeth Lords is 33 years old and been married three times. The ex-porn star turned actress, says her man is an average joe who is extra-ordinary. He wanted to date her 8 years before it finally happened. I think all the males out there have wanted that honor for years.

JUNE 16: Tomb Raider: Well, the bad reviews have started already on the upcoming film starring Angelina Jolie. Variety's Todd McCarthy says the new picture is flat and un-exciting. He also wrote 'Tomb Raider' is bound to be a disappointment to the games teenage fans.

JUNE 16: HTDV Enterprise: The new series 'Enterprise' from Paramount is being filmed in High Definition television format. Using the new technology and unfamiliarity with it caused some problems, as well as delays, with the filming of the pilot. The problems have been worked out. It is unclear whether the pilot or series will be broadcast in HDTV.  Filming digitally could cut costs by 20 to 50% on the effects side by not using film.

JUNE 16: Familiar Faces: Andromeda will have some familiar guests coming through their series in season two, which is currently filming. About 11 episodes should be in the can before the impending actors strike. James Marsters (buffy) is filming his episode right now. Some guest appearing this season include the X-Files smoking man, 'William B. Davis'; 'Bruce Harwood' from the Lone Gunmen; and First Wave's 'Roger Cross'.  (AICN.com)

JUNE 16: Our Stuff Sucks?: Electronics Giant, 'Circuit City' has reported an 82% drop in revenue over first quarter numbers. This is only fair for a company who tried to push the DIVX system on the consumer and ended up ripping them off in the end.  Best Buy, which is great store with more friendly staff members has out performed Circuit City by 52%.  Got DIVX?

JUNE 15: Buffy getting Charmed?: Ex-Charmed star Shannen Doherty is in negotiations for a recurring role on Buffy this upcoming season on UPN.  Gellar and Doherty are good friends. She would be a great permanent addition to the series.

JUNE 15: New Knight Rider: David Hasselhoff confirmed on the Big Breakfast that a new television series and animated series are in work. While a new series could be a great idea, if they try to do the same things with the car that were done in the original series it won't last more than one season.

JUNE 15: Alien VS Predator: Director John Singleton told 'Sneak Peak' that he has a big wish to do the 'Alien vs Predator' film should it ever get made. Singleton will also be stepping up to the plate to write, produce and  direct Marvel's 'Luc Cage as Powerman' feature.

JUNE 15: Lucas Says Stop: Lucasfilm Ltd. has announced that if fans don't stop distributing the two re-edits of the film the... lawyers will get involved. Nooooo... They don't mind fan edits, but when it gets to be a big distribution thing it is getting out of hand. They also expect fans to stop immediately. If you have copies you should keep quiet about trading them. Copyright infringement is a serious thing folks.  And George Lucas has never been a fan friendly person when it comes to his material. Never has been and never will. Star Wars fans never learn.

JUNE 15: Final Destination 2: The script has been completed for the sequel to last years semi-hit 'Final Destination'. They are currently in search of a director. Producer Craig Perry would love to have Wong and Morgan back, but the duo have already said they weren't interested in a sequel to the feature when it was announced last year.

JUNE 15: Terminator 3: Arnolds third stint as the terminator will begin production in early 2002. Edward Furlong will be returning as John Connors and Linda Hamilton has backed out. Like she has such hit prospects in her future.

JUNE 15: Roswell Prepping: UPN's new series 'Roswell' is already prepping for it third season and first on UPN. Colin Hanks and Emile de Ravin will not be returning to the series. The final six episodes of last season set the tone for where they want to be this season. The producers of the show are also excited about having Buffy as a lead in series. Roswell sits in the Tuesday @ 9pm slot after Buffy.

JUNE 15: Witchblade Winner: TNT's series premiere 'Witchblade' scored TNT's highest primetime ratings ever. It remains to be seen whether the Yancy Butler series can maintain its audience for its 13 episodes. If it can do well, it will be back for a second season. People are missing the skimpy outfit the character wears in the comic books though.

JUNE 15: Episode I DVD: The new dvd will have the standard extras, but what it the best is the Deleted Scenes. This will of course lead to fan cuts of the film putting the footage back in and trading them on the web. Lucas will get pissed off and take some kind of action, fans will get pissed off bitchin' and moanin'. But... these same fans will turn around and kiss the butt that screwed them as preps start on Episode IV.  What a nasty circle we weave.

JUNE 15: EFC Shake-up: Once again Earth: Final Conflict gets a huge make-over. Kevin Kilner will once again return as Boone from the first season though his character was killed off. Leni Parker (Da'an) and Anita La Selva (Zo'or) will be leaving the series. And... current star Robert Leeshock may be leaving the series as well. He has been auditioning for other roles. La Selva will return during the season, as a recurring role. Fans have been pissed off over the character and story changes through out the entire series.

JUNE 15: Duchovny Disses X-Files: Can you believe that David Duchovny is kinda upset that  his character didn't get any closure when he left the series. He didn't feel it was an appropriate ending for Moulder after 8 years. Well Mr. Duchovny, you didn't care about the series enough to hang around for the fans and finish up the series. Don't act as if you care, because of the fans and what they deserve, because you don't! You got your money and you ran off to do other stuff. Robert Patrick has stepped and performed great. You are no longer needed or required. Step off!

JUNE 15: the Mummy 3: Producer James Jack believes that Brendan Frasier will be to expensive and Racheal Weisz doesn't want to do another film so they are now looking at the possibility of using a more contemporary idea and may shift the story to an older version of the their son, Alex O'Connell. That's a big mistake. Just go with Brendan Frasier like Indiana Jones.

JUNE 14: No Ryan in Ten: Jeri Ryan has turned down a cameo appearance in Star Trek 10 due to scheduling conflicts with her new series 'Boston Public'. Oh, now Kate Mulgrew is being offered the cameo part, which might be slightly expanded for Captain Janeway. Gee, that's exciting... NOT.

JUNE 14: Cinescape Dies: the official website for the magazine 'Cinescape' has been down for over two weeks and will likely be permanently so. They have fired the entire staff and waiting for a buyer. Fandom.com has really screwed things up expanding to quickly in the young internet market. They should be beaten.

JUNE 14: Battletech: It is truly amazing that with all these genre shows in syndication, the books and video games 'Battletech' isn't a live action television series or even being considered for a feature film. A series based on the books  would be an incredible  series. With the effects today like those used on Andromeda & the Star Trek Franchise it would be... amazing.

JUNE 14: Batman Year One: Darrin Aronofsky's Batman: Year One, has been given the greenlight by Warner Brothers for a 2003 release. There's no real details yet. It is still unclear whether Aronofsky will be directing his script. (comics2film)  Wonder who will wear the cape and cowl.

JUNE 14: Ghost of Mars: The official website is up and you can check it out by 'CLICKING HERE'. Enjoy. This looks to be a decent movie from John Carpenter.

JUNE 14: MIB2: Rick Baker decided not to take a vacation after 'Planet of the Apes' and has jumped right into the fire again with 'Men In Black 2'.  The Grinch, Planet of the Apes, and now MIB2. The man and his team are on a role.

JUNE 14: Rings Lord Thrilled: New Line Chief Executive Robert Shaye was thrilled with the rough cut of the upcoming Lord of the Rings preview he got. The film is currently on schedule for its 'December 19th' release date.

JUNE 14: Hannibal Prequel: Universal Studios has decided to move ahead with production of the Hannibal prequel which takes place before, 'Silence of the Lambs'.

JUNE 14: Lost Sister: Charmed will be bringing in McGowan as a lost sister that the other two didn't even know they had. Spelling says we will find out in the new season where she has been all this time. The series needs Doherty.

JUNE 12: UPN Premiere Dates: AICN is reporting the following... Enterprise two hour premiere - Sept. 26; Special Unit 2 - Oct. 3; Buffy - Oct. 9; and Roswell - Oct. 16.  So much for UPN's previously stated August dates to beat the networks to the punch.

JUNE 12: Beverly Hills Cop 4: Looks like there will be a new Axel Foley film, as Jerry Bruckheimer has hired scribe/guitarist Jason Richman to write the new script.

JUNE 12: Sci-Fi 2000 Fonts: The new FONTS area is up on the site for everyone who has been coming here looking for it! The pages are slightly different, the banner ads gone. But all the great fonts are there. Enjoy. CLICK HERE for the FONTS Page.  The downloads are still from offsite... for now. I am working on the fix to download them directly from this site. They're up there, but just got to fix the links on ALL the pages.

JUNE 12: Legend of the Rangers: The rebroadcast of the Sci-Fi Channel's 'Dune mini-series', June 12 - 14th, will feature the first time footage from the upcoming 'Legend of the Rangers' pilot movie. It will also release new information on the Dune sequel currently in development.

JUNE 12: Up In 'Smoke': John McTiernan, 'Rollerball', is no longer attached to the Miramax film 'Smoke'. The film is to star Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta Jones. (these two just can't do a movie without the other now.) They last paired with McTiernan on Traffic. The reasons for the departure is called... 'insurmountable business differences'.

JUNE 12: Monk: Jet Li is set to star in the upcoming Miramax film 'MONK'. A concept thought out by Li and written by Robert Mark Kamen. It is an action comedy in which he plays a Tibetan monk who wins a trip to New York and brings harmony to an inner-city neighborhood. The feature actually has no title as yet. Hey, 'Beverly Hills Monk'. Got a ring to it, huh? Oh, by the way, Jet Li's take home pay for the feature is around $10M.

JUNE 12: McGowan a Witch: More so in the magical sense than personally. Rose McGowan, barring any weird accidents, will be joining the remaining cast of 'Charmed' and will take on the spot vacated by the departing Shannon Doherty. Her most famous role is being the former real life girlfriend of shock rocker,  Marilyn Manson.

JUNE 12: Madonna Condom: In a very short note, Madonna has gotten her face on a condom at 'Condumania.com'. A 12 pack for around $12. That's exactly where I would put her, if it was me. Truly now, is she the material girl. :)

JUNE 12: Nunan on the run: UPN executive Tom Nunan is apparently ready to exit his position with the network at the end of his contract with the network. Nunan has had trouble over the last four years producing hit shows for the troubled network.  Dick Valentine has yet to start selection for a replacement.

JUNE 11: Lost Money: Despite getting the greenlight for next season, 'the Lost World' suffers from a familiar fate of syndicated series. The fact of financial backing dropping out. The Executive Producers of the series have yet to contact the actors regarding next season. It appears right now that 'the Lost World' has lost its Canadian production company and are in search of American funding.

JUNE 11: Prey Grows: The 13 episode series, PREY, refuses to die. It's following will not give up their quest to see their show reborn.  I received this email from a source requesting not to be known...

With mention of "Prey" popping up in more and more print and web publications, and the plethora of sci-fi genre series being churned out and sampled by both nets and cablers, odds are that one of them is (or soon will be) eyeing up the ever increasing audience that so persistently voices their loyalty to Prey.

While the major nets react solely to the quick massive numbers (and drop the axe the instant they decrease), cablers tend to pay attention to the steadier long term counts.

Which one is going to realize that Prey's disappearance was not due to lack of audience? Which one will want to cash in on its steadily growing international following and marketing power? Which one will be the first to knock on Warners' door? Be it a revival or a sequel, Prey may very likely be gestating a future industry predator.

JUNE 11Hellboy: Rumor from AICN and Dark Horizons about Vin Diesel starring in the upcoming feature 'Hellboy' have been overstated. the Diesel himself has stated to the media that he is not attached to the film.

JUNE 11: Snake Eyes: Anaconda 2 finally has two writers attached to the project in Robocop writers Michael Miner and Ed Neumeier. Columbia Pictures has the project in development at Middle Fork Productions, the same company who produced the first film. Anaconda starred the big butted Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, and John Voight

JUNE 11: Fonts Update: I have started the upload. Having some trouble with the server and all the zipped files. The FTP program can be a pain in the ass sometimes. It's slow work, even with the cable modem, but I am getting them up there. (connections to fast for the huge zip files running through the FTP program) The new area is about 60% uploaded. It is coming along.

JUNE 11: Triple X: Revolution Studios is set to begin production on the spy thriller 'Triple X'. Rob Cohen is set to direct with Neal Moritz to produce the picture which currently has Vin Diesel circling the project.

JUNE 11: Wolf Lake Trouble: With disappointing expectations lurking for CBS's genre series 'Wolf Lake' the network has brought in some help by hiring Alex Gansa to executive produce the new series.  Gansa's experience includes a stint with the X-Files.

JUNE 11: Evolution: More like DE-evolution. The movie just isn't really funny enough for the price at the box office. Duchovny and Julie Ann Moore are NOT funny in this film. Ivan Reitman did not achieve his next 'Ghostbusters' mega-hit. This film is a dud. Save your money and see, 'Swordfish'.

JUNE 11: Swordfish Catches On: The new John Travolta picture 'Swordfish', co-starring Hugh Jackman and 'I've shown my breasts for $500K, Halle Berry was number one at the box office this weekend. The fist week film took in just over $18M.

JUNE 11: Disney Hemorrhage: Disney has agreed to hand over ALL the reports to a judge who have suffered brain hemorrhages on their rides. Last week a 28 year old woman died after riding Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California. Disney was $2500 for 'willful bad faith' for failing to provide the list. Gee, $2500. That really hurt Disney. Whew, stand back from that!

JUNE 10: Disney Kills 4000: Disney has began it trim the workforce plan with 1200 jobs across the board. And by the end of July some 4000 jobs will be gone. Disney World Florida will get the brunt of the screwing as it trims 1200 positions. Disney California will take a 200 staff personnel trim. Disney says the job will create about $350M to $400M for the company.

JUNE 10: Actors Strike: I find it hard to imagine that there could ever be a actors strike when some of its stars are taking home $30M per picture these days. I know the lower grade just starting actors are getting much less, but its already great money by... normal working standards. What is really messed up are some of the wages for behind the scenes personnel who make it happen on the screen. If the actors strike, there won't be any sympathy from this side of the street. Actors salaries have already put a crimp in the types of movies that get done in Hollywood today, and it's going to get worse- not better.

JUNE 10: Fonts Area: The Sci-Fi Fonts section is nearly done, at about 90%. Had lots of pages to work on and html to remove. No need for the funky banner ads, like link exchange and so forth which is killing the internet advertising business. I was hoping to have the entire site up today but personal business has brought the reality to a Monday/Tuesday time frame. But it is coming!

JUNE 9: Submariner Update: Universal Pictures is stepping up to the plate on the Marvel character 'Submariner'.  Prince Namor is a little less known character in the Marvel universe but has fought with the all the big boys. Submariner is the equal to DC's 'Aquaman' character. Marvel Prez Avi Arad and former studio prez Kevin Misher will produce the new feature film. Namor is the Prince of Atlantis and appeared in comics back in 1939.

JUNE 9: Lawyer Fodder: In my opinion the two  lawyers,  La Jolla attorney Norman Blumenthal (representing two idiots suing Sony over bogus reviews), and Connecticut State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (who's looking into the matter concerning the fake critic) are nothing more than two ambulance chasing money hungry thugs. How can you sue someone over a bogus review? Sony just looks like an idiot right now, and two executives lost their jobs. It done, it's over, forget it. Maybe we should start using the cane on those who file these kind of actions.

JUNE 9: the Darkness: Joel Silver will produce Warner Brothers new feature 'Those Who Walk in the Darkness' based on the novel by John Ridley. Ridley actually gets the opportunity to script his own novel, about a cop hunting down super mutants. Joel Silver has his hand into the cookie jar big time right now. The guy is producing everything.

JUNE 9: Witchblade: Anyone watch the encore late showing of the pilot movie for the new series? The reason for asking is that TNT broadcast the second showing at 10pm that night in letterbox format. The 8pm broadcast was in pan and suck format. I believe it was the only broadcast in letterbox. I caught the announcement during the credits of the first airing and jammed a tape in the VCR just in time. WoooHoooo! Score!

JUNE 9: Damnation: The new feature from Clive Barker was mentioned earlier on the site, but now we have some fresh news that the film has been budgeted for about $40M and will star Sean Connery, and Paul Newman.  Sean Connery may actually produce the film. Also being considered for supporting roles are Ed Harris, Kim Basinger, and Dame Maggie Smith.  (dark horizons)

JUNE 9: War of the Worlds: Pendragon Pictures is reporting that Michael Caine has been approached to star in the $42M film from director Timothy Hines. Also being sought for roles are actors Mathew McConaughey and Charlize Theron.  Timothy Hines is going to do a great job with this picture based on the press releases and my phone call with him. He is excited and passionate about the project.  Visual Effects will done in house by Magic Dragon Visual Effects.  Not sure though that Michael Caine is the right choice for this picture.

JUNE 8: Sci-Fi Fonts: Hey everyone. I have received the disc containing the Sci-Fi Fonts page. Got it today. I am in the process of making updates and html edits for the site. Hopefully before the end of the weekend I'll have the site up and running. Lots of pages to do and I'm about 50% done with the changes. Just a little more time my friends.

JUNE 8: the Prisoner: Looks like Simon West is nearing readiness for his upcoming feature 'the Prisoner' based on the television series of the same name. The final draft from scribe 'Ralph McQuarrie' should be in the hands of West, who will then show it to the series creator and star Patrick McGoohan hoping to gain his endorsement for the project.   If they make this project true to the series, it will be a box office flop. They need to add some action and primo effects just to break even. James Bond and Mission Impossible it ain't.

JUNE 8: Bond 20: Speaking of James Bond, Popcorn U.K. website is reporting a rumor, THAT's RUMOR, that John Landis is a contender to direct the upcoming film. Seems unlikely since the Broccoli family wants Bond 19's director to return and MGM is interested a younger talent to direct.  No director has been hired yet to direct the latest Bond. Getting this picture into production is taking forever. Are they waiting for Brosnan to get to old to do it? With the success of the last Bond, you don't wait long to do the next one.

JUNE 8: 7th Enterprise: A rumor floating around in the newsgroups, which may have some truth in it, has '7 Days' writer Stephen Beck possibly joining the cast of UPN's new series 'Enterprise'. This could be a good call for the new series bringing in the fresh blood.

JUNE 8: Austin Powers: The slot machines, here in Las Vegas, are much better than the two films, but we are getting a third installment of 'Austin Powers'. Direct Jay Roach is planning to begin production on the film in the fall of this year for a summer 2002 release. Austin Powers, aka Michael Myers, is still plugging away on the script which is said to have some really funny new stuff. The latest report is that this film will be a prequel to the first two.  God, prequels are terrible ideas.

JUNE 8: Nightfeeder: A new original horror script that has been added to the site. Read it, and let me know how you like it? Read the Script Now... Old Chicago never tasted so good. NIGHTFEEDER.

JUNE 7: Sci-Fi Mini-Series: The Sci-Fi Channel has announced another mini-series going into development.  Their deal is with Jaffe/Braunstein to develop an original four hour mini-series based on Ursula Le Guin's SF Novel 'the Left Hand of Darkness'. Le Guin's other project 'Earthsea' is also under the Sci-Fi Channel flag as a six hour mini-series under development.

JUNE 7: War of Worlds Update: I have posted a new press release for the upcoming 'War of the Worlds' feature from Pendragon Pictures and Timothy Hines.  'CLICK HERE' for the latest update.

JUNE 7: How... Charming: Who is a suitable replacement for the dumped actress... Shannon Doherty? Well, it appears that it will be either Denise Richards (who can't act), or Rose McGowan (monkeybone). Producers believe either of them are suitable replacements.  Doherty was dumped from the series after disagreements with fellow actress Alyssa Milano. Doherty's departure WILL hurt the series. She is a good actress.

JUNE 7: Dragons Score: The Courtney Solomon D&D flick didn't do that well at the box office, but the picture is doing well enough in rental format coming in a number two in rentals of genre material. A DVD definitely worth adding to the collection.

JUNE 7: Dead Instinct: MGM has dropped its plans for the sequel to 'Basic Instinct'.  Reasons were not given, but it seems likely that there were no male leads who wanted to do the picture with Sharon Stone who was guaranteed $14M if the picture was made versus 15% of the Gross. Stone is suing for the $14M and part of the gross the film might have made. She is claiming she had a verbal agreement with 'Andy Vanja and Mario Kassar'. Hey bitch, no picture, no paycheck.  What a greedy ass. Writers get almost nothing for their work and this buffoon wants money for doing nothing. Man!

JUNE 7: Jason X: Ain't it Cool is reporting that Jason X will not hit theatres until March 22, 2002.

JUNE 7: Damnation: The Clive Barker feature film 'Damnation' being done by Phoenix Pictures, has a new suitor. Warner Brothers is in negotiations to acquire the picture from Phoenix Pictures. This would be the third film from them being bought out by an outside company.

JUNE 6: Special Unit 2 Campaign: There are some Special Unit 2 fans out there with a special campaign to thank UPN and make create some money for a children's fund. A worthy cause to say the least. Please check out the link. You might like to help with the campaign... Click the link... Special Unit 2 Thank You Campaign

JUNE 6: Backula Advised: Scott Backula got a visit on the set from alum's 'Jonathan Frakes' and 'Brent Spiner'. They offered the new starship Captain some advice on the new series and playing a character in the Star Trek Franchise.  With the state of Star Trek right now, perhaps Mr. Bakula should go ahead and take a fresh look at the series and role he will play. New Trek, New Actors, and hopefully a New Direction.

JUNE 6: Bryan Singer Interview: If you missed the interview with Bryan Singer during the credits of Cinemax's premiere of 'the X-Men',  "I'm working very diligently on the sequel to X-Men," Singer said. "I'm doing some science-fiction programming stuff for television. I'm shepherding some small projects that interest me on a productorial capacity and I'm just looking at other things that interest me.     "I try to focus on one picture at a time and not attach myself to dozens of things and then see whichever thing is ready and jump on it. I really try to focus on a few things and whatever it is I'm really involved in at the time. Right now, I'm sort of at the development stages of a few different things, X-Men 2 obviously.    "A lot of characters will be back and there will be a couple of new characters, but beyond that I couldn't really tell you anything - anything you can't read on the Internet in two weeks, anyway." Catch the interview for yourself during the next airing of the feature on Cinemax.  Cinemax.com will stage an online chat with Singer on Monday at 9 p.m. (ET), one hour before the network's next airing of X-Men. The site is also sponsoring a sweepstakes with DVD and DVD players as prizes. (thanks to the comics continuum for that bit of information)

JUNE 5: Wolf Lake & Tick get Bad Press: The Hollywood Reporter has posted The Tick and Wolf Lake as this coming season flops while the new 'Enterprise' and 'Smallville' are given passing grades. Conclusions were based on the strength on the program and the time slot it landed.

JUNE 5: Drama, Chan Style: Jackie Chan wants to also be known as a drama actor, not just a action star.  He is hoping that Steven Spielberg will make that happen with the producing of his upcoming 'Tuxedo'.  Hey Jackie, go with what works for you. Do action and make money.

JUNE 5: $50M Neutron Bomb: ``Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius,'' the newest franchise at kids cable network Nickelodeon, has landed $50 million in promotional support from Radio Shack, Trident, RCA, Welch's and Mattel. ``Jimmy Neutron'' is Nick's first multimedia property launch. It is also the first Nickelodeon property to be introduced via a feature film before landing on TV and the network's first computer animation venture. The ''Jimmy Neutron'' campaign will kick off in October.  Now THAT is some serious advertising dough!

JUNE 5: Akira Sold Out: The new Special Edition upcoming DVD has already sold out the 100,000 prints before ever reaching shelves on June 19. A regular edition DVD will hit stores July 24.

JUNE 5: Marvel News: The new Ghostrider project is due to begin production before the end of the year, and Nicolas Cage has been mentioned again to star. Spiderman has wrapped principal photography and is now in editing where the special effects will be done. X-Men still has no script from Bryan Singer.  (dark horizons)

JUNE 5: Trek 10: Dark Horizon's contributor 'Gustavo' is reporting that production of 'Star Trek 10' is set to begin next month.

JUNE 5: AOL raises rates: AOL has decided to raise its rates from $21.95 to $23.90 per month.  Keep it going at this rate and they'll start losing members to cable modems and dsl services.

JUNE 5: Fake Thumbs Up: Believe it or not Sony is declaring it had no idea who their fake critic was, that the company was using to promote their features feature films. They have launched an internal investigation focusing on an inhouse advertising department employee who used blurbs in studio advertisements from a fictitious journalist. It was a Newsweek journalist that discovered the fake 'Dave Manning'.  Who really cares about this? The studios only use the positive critics reports anyways, which no normal human being pays attention to anyways. Why the hell not write your own bullshit about how good a horrible movie is. At least it will be the press you want.

JUNE 5: Wal-Mart, Gets Internet Savvy: Discount chain 'Wal-Mart' will now be offering Internet Access, unlimited style at under $10 per month. 'Wal-Mart Connect' will be based on AOL's Compuserve Platform.

JUNE 4: Revive Poltergeist: The fans of the series 'Poltergeist: the Legacy' are starting another letter writing campaign to let the Sci-Fi Channel know they are around and want their series resurrected. If your interested in helping them check out their site and join in. CLICK HERE for their site.

JUNE 4: Duchovny Done: The X-Files 'David Duchovny' told  the Sci-Fi Wire that he is done with the X-Files series and won't return to the series in even a small way during the 9th season.  They should not have brought the guy back this season to begin with. I hope he has a great movie career that isn't going to happen.

JUNE 4: I'm A Crybaby: George Lucas is miffed that footage from his upcoming Episode II movie ended up on the Internet. At the MTV movie awards Lucas said such leaks are taking a bite out of the film industry and if it continues you will see less and less big budget films.   It is amazing that this is the same guy who used the internet to hype Episode I into a fan frenzy and that was wonderful for him, but if someone does it behind his back, it's bad for Hollywood. What a fucking crybaby. This guys head is so swollen with self importance that it must look like the Good-year blimp. Boo Hoo...

JUNE 4: Killer Klowns:SE: It is coming August 28 on DVD. The Killer Klowns from Outerspace are  warping their way to retailers near you soon. This is a must have for 'B' movie fans. A classic cult hit. It will include two deleted scenes, a directors commentary, a 'making of', storyboards, and photo gallery along with the theatrical trailer. This will be a great DVD that will priced at about $14.95 when it streets.

JUNE 4: Escape From New York: John Carpenter's classic action film, 'Escape From New York'  is in production for a Special Edition DVD due out in 2002. The DVD which got released last month isn't very good as far as quality goes. There is no word yet on what extras, the fan can look forward too.

JUNE 4: Goonies: SE: I had some interested in the special edition of the Goonies with missing footage. Well, here is the information on the upcoming DVD release of the film. It is due to hit the street on August 21, and includes... deleted scenes, the Cyndi Lauper video, audio commentary by Richard Donner, and theatrical trailer. How much? It is slated for $24.95.

JUNE 4: Harbor $$$: Pearl Harbor only grossed about $30M over the weekend but managed to hold off 'Shrek' for the number one spot. Shrek grossed $28.5M over the same span but only dropped 33% at the box office while Pearl lost 49% of its audience from last week.

JUNE 4: TiVo Doomed?: TiVo has been granted patents on its work developing  its new system. It makes one wonder about the company/technology falling by the wasteside as Betamax did when it... thought it would corner the market on its technology and prevented it from being used by others.

JUNE 4: Syndication Sweep: The May sweeps ended with a bang as off network 'the X-Files' came in at #2 again this year, while first year series 'Andromeda' spaced in at #3.  Rounding out the genre was Stargate SG-1 #5 (been dropping 15% each year), Xena #6 for its final May sweep and V.I.P. titted is way to #7 (same as last year).

JUNE 4: Witchblade Pilot: The pilot for the upcoming Wtichblade series will air one more time on TNT tomorrow night, 'June 5' as a lead in to the new series June 12.  The WB aired the pilot movie this past Tuesday and scored strong ratings with the TV Movie drawing 5.2M viewers, which tore up the WB average of  4.2M on Tuesdays.

JUNE 4: Swordfish Bait: Critics are already slamming on the soon to be released action film 'Swordfish' starring John Travolta, Hugh Jackman, and Halle Berry. Variety's Todd McCarthy is calling the film a Matrix/Mission Impossible wannabe with increasingly over the top results. He thinks its just an OK movie. He does like Jackman and Berry in the film. Gotta be better than 'Gone in 60 Seconds' or some of the other recent box office flops. Hey, Hugh Jackman's in the thing.

JUNE 4: Animal: the new Rob Schneider film, about a security guard who is given animal parts instead of human ones after a severe auto accident, has grossed $19.8M while costing $22M to make. The picture is from the same producers who brought us... 'Duece Bigilow: Male Prostitute'.

JUNE 4: Anthony Quinn Dies: After a career that spanned six decades, two time Academy award winner, Anthony Quinn died at a Boston hospital at the age of 86. His most memorable role was that of ,Zorba the Greek,. And his most recent acting I remember was as Sorbo's father Zeus in the series 'Hercules'.

JUNE 4: Enterprise Guest Star: An apparent leak on the set has stated, by the way of section 31, that Vaughn Armstrong, who played Korath in Voyagers 'Endgame', will be the guest star in the upcoming Enterpirse pilot movie. The details of his appearance are unknown, but I likely thing he will play the injured Klingon the humans discover. This will give the actor 10 guest appearances within the Star Trek franchise.

JUNE 3: Voyager Doubles Up: UPN will be airing two episodes of Voyager on Wednesdays nights through the summer, while Seven Days will double up on Tuesday nights. Special Unit 2 was to be aired through the summer but UPN is likely now to hold the series back and air the repeats just prior to starting the series second season.

JUNE 3: Witchblade: Beginning June 12 on TNT the Witchblade limited edition series premieres with the same cast as the TV Movie.

JUNE 3: Sci-Fi Summer: It all begins July 13 & 14th. Saturday Night Prime (July 14) begins airing again with with the channel's new series, 'the Chronicles' at 9pm, with the new remaining episodes of 'First Wave' opening the night at 8pm, and the Outer Limits comes in with new eps at 10pm.  Farscape is on Friday nights with new eps, and The Invisible Man remains on Friday nights at 9pm and will get joined by the fourth season of L.E.X.X in the 10pm time slot.

JUNE 3: Robocop PD on Sci-Fi: The Sci-Fi Channel will air the new Robocop Prime Directive mini-series in its original four two-hour film segments. The mini begins airing July 16 and runs through July 19.  Get those VCR's hot for this one folks.  It should air several times on the network before making it to DVD format. The Sci-Fi Channel will hack the crap out of it with commercials.

JUNE 3: Stargate S4: Season Four of 'Stargate SG-1' will begin airing on the Showtime beginning June 29. It will air at 9pm and midnight.

JUNE 3: Miami Vice: A Miami Vice VCD Label has made its way to the VCD area. You can download the cover there if your dubbing the series to VideoCD format. A backside, and CDR label should be there soon as well. Enjoy. Vice was a great series, and still is.

JUNE 2: K-19 Trouble: The new Harrison Ford feature K-19 has no North American distributor as Fox based producer New Regency Entertainment was unable to come up with the funding after winning the bid on the feature over Paramount. Paramount is now working to secure the rights to the $80M feature. Ford will receive $25M against 20% of the films box office take.

JUNE 2: NBC Knights: NBC and TBS have won the rights to the feature film 'A Knights Tale' starring Heath Ledger for about $12.5M if the film finishes up as expected. NBC & TBS will split the funds 60/40 since NBC gets the showing first. Of course the film will get an 18 month HBO exclusive pay per view window.

So much so that he wants to continue his success in this area and signed a new two year production deal with WBTV.  Bruckheimer will be expanding the production personel which is based at the Walt Disney Co. on the feature side. His new reality series 'Amazing Race' airs on CBS in the fall.

JUNE 1: First Wave Good-Bye: Despite the Sci-Fi Channel's renewal of the series, there will be NO 4th season. Various sources have told me that Larry Sugar informed Chris Brancato yesterday that Pearson has said no for the fourth season. Pearson was sold to a German company recently who is no longer interested in selling TV products to the Western market.  First Wave joins the series 'The Crow: Stairway to Heaven' as a series getting the axe after a the production company was sold.

JUNE 1: Tomb Doomed: Dark Horizons is reporting that Paramount was not happy with the initial cut of the extremely anticipated 'Tomb Raider' feature according to an anonymous source. Mission Impossible 2 editor 'Stuart Baird' was brought in to recut the film by Simon West.  The screening in Portland Oregon, Baird's cut, was well received by the audience.

JUNE 1: Simon Twins: It appears bad right now to be a director named Simon in Hollywood. Simon West has had to have someone come in and recut his Tomb Raider feature, and Simon Wells has been replaced in The Time Machine to have another director finish up and re-shoot some scenes. Simon Says Trouble.

JUNE 1: Stargate SG-1: Peter Deluise, who has written and directed many Stargate SG-1 episodes was asked about a six season possibility for the Showtime series. Deluise reported that there are many who would like to continue the series but it basically comes down to star Richard Dean Anderson, who stars in the series as Jack O'Neil. If he doesn't want to do a six season there won't be one.    While their is discussion of taking the series into feature films, it is unknown whether there could be the series, and the features.
