Oct 31: Smallville: The young Superman series retained 90% of its audience from week one. The series has done so well that the WB has greenlighted the series for the full 22 episodes.

Oct 31: Solaris: A Russian novel turned movie in 1972 will get a new feature version done titled 'Solaris'. Director Steven Soderbergh will direct the film from the novel of the same name.

Oct 31: Willard: Glen Morgan and James Wong truly enjoy the sci-fi realm. With the One completing production and headed for the big screen either the remake of the rat horror film 'Willard' or 'Don't Be Afraid After Dark' will be next. The up for the duo writing/directing team will be 'Hearts Do Not in Eyes Shine'.

Oct 30: Wolf Lake Pulled: The doom sets in as CBS has put the series 'Wolf Lake' on Hiatus after just four episodes. Wolf Lake was only averaging 6.6M viewers. (variety) It is expected to return near the end of sweeps.

Oct 30: Angel Gets Lovin: Creator Joss Whedon has decided to give Angel a love interest. It will be none other than Cordellia

Oct 30: Projects For Warner: the Moviehole website is reporting the Warner Brothers is deep in development on 7 more Harry Potter films, along with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and even a Catwoman film.

Oct 30: Daredevil: With production getting ready to begin a slew of actresses have come forward expressing interest in the role of Elektra. The list includes Penelope Cruz, Lucy Liu (charlie's angels), Jessica Alba, Natalie Portman (episode one/two), Angie Harmon and others. As for the part of 'the Kingpin'... seems the big name for now is Scottish actor 'Robbie Coltrane (from hell). Filming is set to begin production in Los Angeles March 20, 2002.

Oct 30: Nemesis Pushed Back: the New Star Trek: Nemesis film has had its start date pushed back to July or August of next year. It was slated to begin production in November.

Oct 30: Fans or Fanatics: How many people this time will pay to see Monster Inc. just to view the new Star Wars Episode 2 trailer and then leave the movie theatre? Imagine paying $3.50 to $7.00 just to see a two-minute trailer and then leave the theatre?

Oct 29: Basic: The John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson military thriller 'Basic' is set to begin production Nov 26 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Oct 29: Knight Rider: David Hasselhoff is working to scare up some interest in his 'Knight Rider' project while talking to the 'Sci-Fi Wire'. Hasselhoff believes the project will return as a new series. The series title sounds stupid at... 'Super Knight Rider 3000'. The project is about to close negotiations with a major studio.

Oct 29: No Ep1 3rd Disc: The Dark Horizons website started a rumor that Lucasfilm was considering doing a third disc of supplemental material. This rumor is false. the Digital Bits website has gotten word from Lucasfilm that NO 3rd disc is in work.

Oct 29: Collateral Damage: The Arnie terrorist action flick 'Collateral Damage', looks to be moving up from its February date to January 18th. (entertainment weekly)

Oct 29: C.S.I. Moves Up: C.S.I. continued its upward swing this week coming in at number 3 after being fourth last week. Last year it was believed 'Survivor' helped the new series succeed. That may be the case but this season Survivor is tied at number nine. C.S.I. is a very well written series with unique and interested characters. And hey... it is set in Las Vegas.

Oct 29: Now & Again: The TV series 'Now & Again' lasted just one season of 22 episodes, but Michael Angeli is interested in bringing the series back as a movie. Likely a feature film rather than a telefilm.

Oct 28: Invisible Status: I did learn that it is unlikely fans will see the official cancellation on the Sci-Fi Wire. They generally only post renewals. On the ratings side for I-Man it appears that the 'syndication' numbers weren't high enough out the gate and that lead to the series demise. This would likely be USA studios fault with sorry attempts to sell the series into a larger syndicated market.

Oct 28: Watchmen: Scribe David Hayter, who has written the X-Men as well as doing 'the Hulk' and 'Pitch Black 2', has been hired to write the script for 'Watchmen'. Hayter will get at least $1M for adapting the comic series to film. On another note Hayter is also being considered to possibly direct the film.

Oct 28: I-Man: The Invisible Man efforts needs some write-ins from the fans. CLICK HERE for the perseus projects write-in area. They need the help people.

Oct 28: The Updates: Sorry for the limited work on the site over the weekend so far. Pulled a muscle in my back causing some serious spasms and I can't sit for very long at the computer.

Oct 27: Darwins Blade: Jan De Bont is trying Television. The Director-Producer is teaming with writer-producer John Pogue (U.S Marshals) to develop action-drama concept for the ABC TV network. Based on the novel of the same name by Dan Simmons, focuses on Dr. Darwin Minor, an expert in the unusual field of accident investigations. In the book, while on a case, Minor finds himself in danger of being killed himself, forcing him to bring his technical and scientific skills to the fore to solve this mystery. De Bont will direct a first film with a script by Pogue, in a deal that suggests more films could follow.

Oct 27: Equilibrium: Actor Sean Bean has signed on to the project 'Equilibrium' to costar with Christian Bale.

Oct 26: X-Files Regulars: The series X-Files has added another regular cast member for season nine. Now it's recurring character Deputy Alvin Kersh, played by James Pickens Jr. Kersh has been a recurring character on the series since season six.

Oct 26: Underground Inferno: Lion's Gate Entertainment under the banner of 'Avalanche' will begin production on genre films 'Underground Inferno' and 'Tsunami' very soon.

Oct 26: Cabin Pressure: Under the same release and 'Avalanche' name production is finishing up on genre flicks 'Cabin Pressure' and 'the Void' for television.

Oct 26: Foreigner: Steven Seagal has signed on to another project in 'Foreigner' with director Michael Oblowiitz. In the film Seagal will portray a freelance secret agent whose assignment is to transport a package from France to America, only to be hunted down by a number of conflicting groups who are trying to steal the package. With his last two films co-starring rap artists, will he continue the trend with this film.

Oct 26: Bruce Campbell: Don't forget, The king of 'B' movies, Bruce Campbell, will be appearing in Dayton Ohio on Monday for a book signing at 'Books and Co.'

Oct 26: The Tuxedo: Jackie Chan is in Toronto filming 'The Tuxedo' with Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Oct 26: Smallville: The WB has picked up Smallville for the entire season after just two episodes believing the young superman series will be a hit. The series has already established itself as the number one series on the WB with males. The WB will also edit the first two episodes into a two-hour telefilm to show them again for the weekend of October 26 for their local affiliates to air either Saturday or Sunday (zap2it.com) 6pm Sunday here in Las Vegas.

Oct 26: Special Unit 2: Dark Angel checks in with news that UPN is expected to announce by the end of November the status on SU2 getting picked for the back nine episodes.   More than the ratings will be whether UPN thinks 'Dead Again' could pull in a larger audience. 'Dead Again' starring Anthony Michael Hall, scored the highest test ratings for any pilot movie UPN has produced to date.  Special Unit 2 is a refreshingly fun series to watch.

Oct 26: Special Unit 2 Kicks Roswell: UPN might have been happy to pick up Roswell for at least this season, but again the surprise is UPN's 'Special Unit 2' which beat out Roswell 4.3 to 3.0 in the latest ratings for genre series at Cinescape online. Roswell already has the 22 episode guarantee from UPN while SU2 sits at just a 13 episode commitment.

Oct 26: Garson Taken: The Steven Spielberg mini-series on the Sci-Fi Channel has picked up actor Willie Garson for a role in a generational story about a family subject to alien abductions.

Oct 25: Daredevil: Dark Horizons website is reporting an interesting that part of Ben Affleck's deal to sign on to the project is that Daredevil be filmed in Los Angeles rather than Canada. Interesting if true. Who will when this battle.

Oct 25: TV Guide Gets Stupid: The new online update for TV Guide has them praising the acting of Rose McGowan while having the nerve to call Shannon Doherty's acting... saying "Just about any actress would have been an improvement over the dead-eyed, mechanical Doherty". Then TV Guide goes on to say that Milano and Holly Marie Combs aren't much better, and McGowan is the only one who can act. Charmed is anything but charmed. It isn't nearly as good as it was before. And time isn't going to fix it. The ratings were barely decent before kicking Doherty off kicked off the series. Four years wasted setting the series up, so Spelling could expect fans to suddenly accept a stupid sister story because mom had an affair with an angel. Oh, yeah... that sounds about right.

Oct 25: Enterprise: Despite the poor writing the series, according to UPN is the highest rated new show in the 18 to 34 demographic, beating out Smallville, Alias, and Crossing Jordan. (scifi wire)

Oct 25: Tracker Gets Bad Slot: The premiere of Tracker opened at midnight on a local cable network in piss poor quality. This isn't the type of broadcasting that will secure a good syndication rating. I new series starring Highlanders, Adrian Paul, reminded me slightly of Time Trax. The hero chasing down the criminals who have escaped to Earth. There are unique differences and I found the series quite good for a start. Enough not to judge it without seeing several episodes.  You can see that series from 'Tribune' get the prime slots while the independent series are stuck with slots like this.

Oct 25: DVD Recorder: I cruised on down to Best Buy last night after getting their ad in the paper showing the new DVD Recorder for $999.oo. It's incredible and I would love to have one. Being able to put multiple TV series episodes on disc with chapter stops and high quality video is awesome. The only ugly part of the unit is the silver color. That is horrible. Hopefully it will be available in gray or black in the near future. Within six months or so the price should easily be under $700.

Oct 25: Teenage Caveman: The new Creature Feature airing tonight on Cinemax is 'Teenage Caveman'. The first two I saw... the one with the kid turning into a spider, and the mermaid were excellent features. Very well done. This one should be good too based on the previews. That's tonight on Cinemax...

Oct 25: Phantom DVD: In just the first week, Star Wars: Episode One raked in a mere $45M breaking the number of discs sold by The Mummy Returns.

Oct 25: C.S.I. Tonight: Just a reminder, Crime Scene Investigation airs tonight on CBS at 9pm.

Oct 25: Constantine: Nicolas Cage will star in the supernatural thriller 'Constantine' for Warner Brothers. It is based on the DC- Comic Book 'Hellblazer'. The Donners Company will be doing the film.

Oct 25: Disney, A Fox: The Walt Disney Company has purchased Fox Family Worldwide for $5.2B. Nearly $3B of that is debt owed by Fox Family Worldwide. Disney is planning to offset costs by re-airing episodes of ABC series like TNT is doing from the WB.

Oct 25: X Marks Andromeda: The battle is officially on between Tribune Entertainments two top syndicated series 'Mutant X' and 'Andromeda'. Mutant X opened its series with a 3.3 rating while Andromeda scored an impressive 3.2. In six of the top ten markets the two series air back to back. A prospect that might have the series battle for the top syndicated spot throughout the season. Andromeda is a proven series and Mutant X the new kid on the block. Over the full 22 episodes we'll get to see if the Mutants can play with last years big boy on the block.

Oct 25: C.S.I. & J.A.G.: Having just three initials in your title might be a good thing. Both series have broken the top ten in the ratings. C.S.I. finished up last year at number 4 and finds itself at number three right now in the young season. J.A.G. has been around longer and proves its staying power in the drama department coming in at number ten.

Oct 25: Bulletproof Monk: Comics2Film is reporting the Chow Yun-Fat's 'Bulletproof Monk' may begin lensing in early 2002. The feature is based on the comic book of the same name and will be directed by music video director Paul Hunter.

Oct 24: Alien vs Predator: Fox is reportedly finally moving forward with the 'Alien vs Predator' project that has been in development hell for years. Unfortunately the film is being done without Producer Joel Silver. Predator producer John Davis is doing the film. (13th Street)

Oct 24: Ponderosa: A new prequel series to Bonanza is in work. It is being filmed in Australia. Australia? It will be the first series to be shot in the expensive high definition Panavision. The Dark Horizons website reports that the series is about half-way through filming the first season.

Oct 24: Alias: ABC has picked up the new series 'ALIAS' for the entire first season. Alias airs Sunday's at 9pm.

Oct 24: Ghost Ship: Dark Castle Productions and Joel Silvers who are doing 13 Ghosts are planning to do Ghost Ship for Halloween 2003. The feature is of course a supernatural thriller.

Oct 24: Another Mini-Series: With the Dune mini-series doing so well in DVD format, we will be seeing more and more new mini-series. The last appears to be... Anne Rice's novel 'The Witching Hour' being scripted by John Wilder,  according to columnists Beck and Smith.

Oct 24: Bad Boys 2: Yes, there is rumor of a sequel in development for the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence to return for another go around as the Bad Boys. Whether or not the budget will support $20M for Smith & the $15M for Lawrence remains to be seen.

Oct 24: More Crow: Edward Pressman, who let the fans down with the return of 'The Crow: Stairway to Heaven', still believes that this is a viable property and is planning another film. It will not be the Lazarus project starring DMX. Looks to be one of their novels and the crow will be a female. Bobby Phillips is a great female crow.

Oct 24: Last Warrior: Final chapters 21 & 22 were uploaded today. The saga is complete and online for your reading enjoyment.

Oct 24: Max Payne: Dimension Pictures has picked up the feature rights to the video game 'Max Payne'. Dimension is planning a live action feature and not an animated movie. (scott strout)

Oct 24: Tracker: Scott Strout passes on his review of the new series 'Tracker'... Overview: After a successful five year run on Highlander Adrian Paul returns as a mysterios alien in tracker. Adrian Paul shows us that his acting has gotten quite good over the years and he's a much better actor the your average weekend syndie actor. Also the rest of the cast is quite likable and it's nice to see Geriant Wyn Davies in front of the camera again The story laid out is just the beginning of Tracker's story arc so it's really hard to tell from the first episode if it's going to be good or bad. Once gain I could do with out another series of quick cut and wire actions scenes, but with a decent explanation of this ability in the story I can excuse it. After all the full extent of his powers have not been told yet. I'll give Tracker a few more weeks and come back with another report on how the show progresses as the story starts to unfold. It's too early to tell on this one. It's not a bad start and the show has potential...give it a few weeks before you write it off.

Oct 23Last Warrior: My online novel had chapter 20 added today. Only two more chapters in the adventures of Packard Steele - Earth's Last Warrior. CLICK HERE for the Last Warrior.

Oct 23: I-Man???: The Sci-Fi Wire, part of the Sci-Fi Channel, has let fans know about the renewal of 'Farscape' for two more years, as well as the greenlight for another season of L.E.X.X. They have yet to step up and tell fans the final status of their number two rated series 'the Invisible Man'. Will there be a third last minute reprieve? Will the actors have to do it for free to get renewed? Will the series have to give up the special effects to get another season? No one knows exactly what is going on behind closed doors. But Sci-Fi Channel doesn't care about the fans, not one little bit. We are nothing but $$$$ signs to them.

Oct 23: Judge Dredd Returns: 2000AD has signed two movie deal with Shoreline Entertainment to reinvent Judge Dredd for the big screen. The two films, 'Judge Dredd: Dredd Reckoning' and 'Judge Dredd: Possession' will be filmed back to back. They will be nothing along the lines of the first film done with Sylvester Stallone. (flopped at the box office. An underrated film) The films will be done in the style of the original comic books. (variety)

Oct 23: X - delayed: The X-Files season premiere has been pushed back a week to November 11th to avoid the stupid Emmy Awards and a possible game seven of the World Series if needed.

Oct 23: Core: Reuters is reporting the Hilary Swank has signed on as an astronaut in the upcoming Sci-Fi sub-terranian flick 'the Core'. (dark horizons)

Oct 23: Killer Instinct: Picking great projects has to be one of Val Kilmer's worst abilities. Hopefully he will do better playing the bad guy in 'Killer Instinct' in which he is negotiating for the lead role. KI is about an executive who pulls off what he thinks is a perfect murder until his girlfriend and co-worker starts to suspect him. Robert Shaye will direct the film. Can you believe Kilmer and Daryl Hannah are an item. (moviehole) Kilmer also has a reputation in Hollywood as an actor that is difficult to deal with like Terminator's Michael Beihn.

Oct 23: King Conan: For the fans... Just because John Milius, writer of the new King Conan film, said that it was news to him about the Rock, Dwayne Johnson, being asked to play Arnolds son in the film, doesn't make it untrue. The Swartz said he talked to the Rock about it. He never implied he had talked to Milius about it before asking him. The Rock is likely the best choice to fill the shoes of 'Conan'.

Oct 23: Wolf Lake: The new series starring 'Lou Diamond Phillips' is continuously talked about as the first genre series that will be cancelled. The series ratings won't make CBS happy but they have gotten better each week though still below 6.0. Some aren't watching for the fact that cancellation keeps getting mentioned, but if you took the time to watch an episode or two - you just might enjoy the series. It is an interesting show that genre fans should give a view.

Oct 22: Terminator 3: Linda Hamilton told Empire Online that the reason she didn't take a part in the upcoming Terminator 3 project is that the film didn't take her character in a new direction. The film she says is about the Torch being turned over to Sarah's son John, played by Eddie Furlong. It his movie - and Arnolds. She goes on to say it was a no-win situation for her. And without her ex-husband at the helm no thank you. Isn't it funny that when the story was more about her, she was all for doing it. Now, "I'm not the star, so forget it." To date, Linda Hamilton dissed 'Beauty and the Beast' and now 'Terminator'. Both of them the only really successful projects she has starred in. She has been relegated to mostly TV movies these days. Her last big screen role was in 'Dante's Peak'.

Oct 22: the Last Warrior: Chapters 17, 18, and 19 were added today. CLICK HERE  for the Warrior Area. Three more chapters to go.

Oct 22: Fan Edits: Some Hollywood directors are dead set against fan edits like Peter Hyams, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Scott Hicks, and David Mamet. Like any of these guys would ever do a film someone would want to even make the effort with, while others like... Les Mayfield, Richard Linklater, and Tim Hill think fans should go for it. Director David Mamet would like to step into an dark alley with a fan editor. Yeah right. Jeunet will "KILL" anyone who touches one of his works of art.  I have done my own 'Alien' fan edit putting the ten minutes of deleted footage back in from the laserdisc boxed set. I ain't trading it or selling it on eBay, it's an edit for me. But I'll step into an alley with Mamet any day, and turn him into a fan edit. Fans of Fan edits, are a relative small group. They are talented individuals who enjoyed a film enough to make it better for themselves. Other fans want to see it too. It isn't about money or hurting the director. It's about creativity and being a fan.

Oct 22: Buffy: Fans expecting Faith, Eliza Dushku, to return can forget it. They cannot get her back. And the chances of Oz, Seth Green, and Riley, Marc Blucas, are a huge maybe and seems unlikely. (tv guide)

Oct 22: S.W.A.T.: David Ayer, who wrote Training Day, will take the reins for the new film, S.W.A.T. - based on the old TV series co-starring Robert Urich. Ayer enjoyed the script but hasn't read any of the previous script treatments that have been done. Ayer would like to have Scott Glenn and Paul Walker on board for roles. (moviehole.com)

Oct 22: Bones: The new film 'BONES' Michael T. Weiss of Pretender fame getting evil playing the bad guy in the new horror film. Weiss dons prosthetics to gain a hundred pounds for the overweight bad cop he will play. Real like rapper and drugster 'Snoop Dogg' plays Jimmy Bones, the legendary protector of a run down neighborhood who comes back 20 years after being murdered to wreck revenge on those who killed him.

Oct 22: the Pretender: Another reminder that Michael T. Weiss will return as Jarod for the second telefilm this year from TNT. The Pretender: Island of the Haunted premieres December 10th. Reruns of the series, which ran for four years, currently air on TNT.

Oct 22: The Desert Inn: the legendary Desert Inn will be imploded tonight at 2am. At least half of the Hotel and Casino (recently used in Rush Hour 2) will remain and become part of Steve Wynn's new mega-casino. The other half has already been gutted and set up with explosives to bring it down. The Desert Inn is the featured hotel in the series 'VEGAS' Dan Tanna worked for the owner.

Oct 22: Magnum Feature?: There is a rumor that TV favorite Private Dick, Magnum PI will be getting the feature film treatment. Word also is... that Hollywood will give the film the lavish treatment. But... will Tom Selleck at his age be Magnum or will a new actor attempt to take on the role.

Oct 22: West TV: Terrible movie director Simon West has returned to Paramount under a new seven figure  deal with the Paramount Network to develop, create and produce new series for the studio. He will also direct some pilots and select episodes for those projects. Says West, "After doing a few movies, I realized I yearned for the speed of television again." Plus the fact that he stinks directing feature films this was a smart move for him. Simon West recently ruined the big budgeted film 'Tomb Raider'. A project which had a great script, actors and crew.

Oct 21: Wonder Woman Removed: I have removed the Wonder Woman Themes in mp3 and wav formats because this site... http://members.migente.com/pupusita/ was linking to them illegally from scifi2k.com. You want a theme on your site, then download it and upload it to your account. I'm not paying for bandwidth to support a site for someone else. If you were or are looking for this theme, drop an email to account above, it's their fault the theme isn't here. The website above refused to give scifi2k.com credit for linking to the theme or remove the link, so now no-one gets to hear the theme. My apologies.

Oct 21: Last Warrior: Chapters 15 & 16 have been added to the site for the online novel, 'the Last Warrior' CLICK HERE for the 'Last Warrior' center to download the chapters you need.

Oct 21: TNT & Smallville: With TNT doing pretty well airing new 'Charmed' episodes on Sunday nights after they air on the 'WB', TNT is working a deal to do the same with 'Smallville'. It is also possible that the hit series 'Gilmore Girls' might be airing on TNT if they don't get 'Smallville'.

Oct 21: 24 Airs Twice: Other networks have learned from the TNT/WB deal re-airing new eps of series. Fox will be re-airing episodes of the new Kiefer Sutherland series '24' on its sister network FX beginning November 6th.

Oct 21: Aquamarine: Sounds like a great sci-fi/fantasy feature, but not quite. Fox 2000 has picked up the rights to Alice Hoffman, teen novel 'Aquamarine'. It tells the story of two girls who find a mermaid in their local pool. The mermaid gets a crush on a boy working at the club, but the girls must find a way to return the mermaid to the ocean before she dies.

Oct 21: Perfume Murderer: Ridley Scott may have discussed Alien 5 with Sigourney Weaver, but he might be helming a murder film 'Perfume: The Story of a Murderer'. Variety is reporting that Constantin Films is developing the project with Scott. Scribe Caroline Thompson has been brought in to write the script. Ridley Scott has not yet agreed to helm the project though. Might be possible that his brother Tony Scott could helm.

Oct 20: J.M.S. Responds: Babylon 5 master creator J.M.S. responds to the comments by 'Captain Pike' concerning his new telefilm... 'B5: Legend of the Rangers'. You can read entire comment section by CLICKING HERE. Needless to say that JMS is extremely unhappy with Ain't It Cool News and Harry Knowles. Says JMS, "AICN has no credibility or stature in Hollywood. Their comments are fan boyish. Positive reviews can be bought by taking AICN reviewers to junkets and giving them free food, and other gifts. All together it's a shoddy operation, that no one should ever take seriously. They have no merit." JMS does on the stupid side list... Roger Ebert, Pauline Kael, Howard Rosenberg, TV guide, Variety, the Hollywood Reporter, New York Times, Washington Post, Time and Newsweek as legitimate reviewers. Bullshit on that! They are as biased as anyone. People get copies of tapes and they do reviews. They change their names if it might cost them. People read them and make their own opinions. Roger Ebert wouldn't know a good movie if it sat on his face and wiggled. Some movies, like 'Scooby Doo' you don't have to know anything about to know that it is a stupid idea. Head over to the 'Legend of the Rangers' site and read it all. I'd like to review the telefilm... but I'm not Newsweek, who will get to see it early.

Oct 20: Alien vs Predator: The sequel to the hit game 'Alien vs Predator' will be making its way to PC's around the end of the month, according to Sierra & Fox Interactive. The game has already been shipped to the duplication company. AvsP has an SRP of $49.95. A 65 MB demo of the game is expected to be up shortly on http://AvP.sierra.com that will allow you to play one of the game's levels as either human, Alien or a Predator.  You'll also be able to try out the game's Deathmatch mode of combat too, with up to 16 players participating in each arena. (13th Street website)

Oct 20: Fan Made Trailers: I found a great website that has over 177 fan made trailers for movies that don't exist yet, like 'Indiana Jones 4', 'the Goonies 2', and 'the Godfather'. CLICK HERE FOR THE SITE.

Oct 19: Alias: John Hannah from 'the Mummy' and 'the Mummy Returns' will join the cast of 'Alias' for two episodes which will air in November. He will play a man who thinks he is going crazy and checks himself into a mental asylum. He doesn't know that he is an assassin programmed to kill people.

Oct 19: Batman Again?: Just days after Warner Bros. announced that it hasn't been long enough since the last film, but moviehole.com spoke with the editor of DC Comics and was told that at least two Batman projects are very close to pre-production though he doesn't know which ones. But he admits that he doesn't know which one if any will actually get the green light.

Oct 19: Drive: Paramount Pictures will adapt Harlin Ellison's 'Along the Scenic Route' into a feature film. Paramount has titled the project 'Drive' and will put helmer, Alex Proyas in charge. Drive is set 20 years in the future, when the highways are unpatrolled and people duel it out on them. It is also a highly rated even on newscasts. This sounds like a different version of Mad Max and Fast and the Furious. It also sounds incredibly stupid.

Oct 19: Baywatch No Blast: The website WENN is reporting that the 'Baywatch Blast' telefilm has gone belly up and been pushed back until next spring. There is also a report that David Hasselhoff is being exceptionally greedy on the production that has/will cost the appearances of many familiar faces from the series.

Oct 19: Enterprise: After the fourth week of the new series the ratings dropped again. It was the smallest drop so far going from 6.8 to 6.6. The mid 6 ratings might be Enterprise's final ratings area.

Oct 19: Sold Scripts: A new list of recently sold scripts has been added to the Sold Scripts area if your interested.

Oct 19: No Space Battles: An insider to Lucas' second/ fifth Star Wars film has seen and reports all to AICN on Episode Two. There are no space battles in this one, but a huge Jedi fight scene near the end of the film. This one sounds much better than the Episode One. Head on over to AICN for the entire scoop on 'Attack of the Clones' if you want to know all. Stay away if you want to be surprised.

Oct 19: Special Unit 2: A fan site for 'Special Unit 2' has production photos up on his site. CLICK HERE to check it out. The quality isn't great but they are there. It is one of the few SU2 fan sites already up and running.

Oct 19: Sci-Fi Fonts: Designing a site or creating your own video cover sheets? Then check out the Sci-Fi Fonts area of Sci-Fi 2000. There are over 200 fonts for download. Fonts include Star Trek, Star Wars, Terminator and even Blade Runner. They're all here for the taking.

Oct 19: Chrome Update: The area for Timothy Hines new film 'Chrome' has been updated with some new images and information. There production crew are down to just 40 days before lensing is to begin. Photo additions include photos of Katie Thomlinson and producer Susan Goforth doing their workouts. Both of them look incredible. CLICK HERE for CHROME...

Oct 18: Sony Shuts Down: Due to costs and poor ratings Sony will be shutting down their television department. Sony produces 'King of Queens', 'Pasadena' 'Dawson Creek' and the soon to flop 'The Tick'. Sony has yet to announce what will be happening to the series when they shut down.

Oct 18: Battlestar Galactica: Bryan Singer will be shooting the new telefilm pilot 'Battlestar Galactica' for Fox TV in British Columbia. The expected dates are... Dec 11th to Feb 14th.

Oct 18: Dreamcatcher: Castlerock Enter. has given the green light as well as beginning to cast for the feature 'Dreamcatcher' based on a novel by Stephen King of the same name.

Oct 18: Bond Villain: Arnold Vosloo, from the Mummy Returns, told the 13th Street Website that he has been approached to play the villain in James Bond's 20th film.

Oct 18: Snipes Next: Yahoo UK is reporting that Wesley Snipes has bee tipped to star in the upcoming bike thriller, 'When the Ride is Rough'. It begins filming in February.

Oct 18: Buffy Gets Beat: Buffy the Vampire Slayer narrowly got beat by the WB's 'The Gilmore Girls' 4.6 to 4.4 in their second weeks. With all the crap on television today, its amazing when networks put their shows against each other. There is just to many poor nights of TV, to do this crap.

Oct 18: Smallville: The WB presented us with young Superman minus the cape and tights. Here's Scott Strout's take on it... "The WB show telling the events of a young teen Clark Kent kicked off with a pretty good first episode. The show has a great young cast and the acting for the most part was quite well done. The meteor scene was excellent and done with special effects that would rival just about any show on tv. My only problem was that the story seemed a bit rushed. I felt they could have stretched out Clark discovering that he's different from most people over the course of a few episodes and not just dive into it. Nevertheless, the story set in place was well done and I'll tune in next week. I just hope they avoid the strict teen drama some. The story of young Superman can have mass appeal, but I don't think older fans will watch a basic teen drama week after week. The new series premiered to impressive ratings for the WB, earning 8.4M viewers. The question is the long haul. Will those same fans be there 22 episodes from now?

Oct 18: Altman a F#@king Idiot!: Director Robert Altman blames Hollywood for the attack on the WTC stating that they would never have thought of to commit an atrocity like that unless they'd seen it in a movie. What a friggin idiot. Like no terrorist could think of something like that, only a writer or director in Hollywood could. I think this loser gives himself and follow artists a little to much credit. If what he says is true then perhaps we should press charges against these directors and writers for being terrorists. Give me a break ya fool, itdiot, asshole, loser, scumbag, butt-wipe...

Oct 18: New U.S. Movie Bill: A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday that would give a tax credit to films made in America. While previous attempts to win a similar tax credit have been unsuccessful for various reasons, supporters of the bill -- an attempt to stem runaway production -- hope their cause will get a boost as several high-profile lawmakers are now supporting the bill. Says Republican David Dreier said. "But today, we're losing productions solely because special tax and employment incentives and loan programs for studio and soundstage construction and other such measures have been enacted by foreign countries to lure movie and television productions -- and the jobs they create -- away from the U.S." Bout fuckin' time too!

Oct 18: Agency Pulled: In an immature move by CBS, they have pulled this weeks episode of 'The Agency'  because it deals with 'Anthrax attacks'. What kind of crap is that... when we are dealing with anthrax stories every day in the real world. We can't watch a TV episode based on something that is happening, but we can watch real stuff on the news. CBS, you stink.

Oct 18: Petitions Zone: There is a new area on the Scifi.com bbs for fans to post sites for petitions and stuff to save our series.... CLICK HERE

Oct 18: Witchblade: The second season of Witchblade will be filming in Toronto in January.

Oct 17: Bond 20: the website 'Bond20.com' reports that production is underway constructing an ice base that will be used in the final battle. Construction at Pinewood studios will continue until the end of the year. Also on site was news that location filming will take place in Spain, Iceland, and South Korea.

Oct 17: Shrek 2: Dreamworks has hired its new writers for the sequel to Shrek in David Weiss and David Stem.

Oct 17: Damned Horrible: Test screening have not gone very well for 'Queen of the Damned'. The film is not very good according to those who have seen it and filed reports with AICN. Dark Horizon now reports that there will be one more test screening and Michael Rhymer, along with the studio, will decide when edit sucked the least.

Oct 17: Alf Rates a DVD box set: Finally - it begins!!! The half hour comedy series from the 80's 'ALF' will be getting the DVD set treatment I have talked about for a while. The complete series will be coming in a 12 disc boxed set. The only real extra, none are needed in these sets, is commentary. It's due out sometime next spring. Now if the studios would start doing short lived series like, 'Logan's Run', 'Space Above and Beyond', and others... Image a complete 200+ episode boxed set for a  series like 'Miami Vice' - and priced to sell. Whoa!

Oct 17: Butt-Ugly Martians: Universal has worked a deal for the rights to 'Butt-Ugly Martians' from the UK's Just Group, Mike Young Prod. and a Hong-Kong DCDC for the 26 episodes of the half-hour animated Sci-Fi comedy series. The rights purchased give universal Feature Films rights along with home entertainment, consumer products, theme parks and producing additional episodes.

Oct 17: Andromeda Returns: The week of Sept. 24th saw Andromeda return in the number one first run syndicated slot with a 2.4 rating. The Invisible Man was close with a 2.0 rating for the week.

Oct 17: Gunmen Return: The Lone Gunmen aren't dead, as they return to the 'X-Files' this season with even more humor, in a least one episode.

Oct 17: New Caesar: TNT is planning a huge production based on 'Julius Caesar'. The four-hour mini-series has a working budget of $18M. The funding comes from TNT, and European Countries. Jeremy Sisto, who played the title role in the mini-series 'Jesus' signed a seven figure deal to star as Caesar in the project. Uli Edel, 'Mists of Avalon', will be directing from a script by Peter Bruce. (hollywood reporter)

Oct 17: I-MAN - No Official Word: One more day starts and still the word has not officially made its way from the Sci-Fi Channel. Is there a last minute reprieve? Could someone step in late and save the show? Will there be another season of I-Man somewhere? Will it be on the Sci-Fi Channel? Good questions all. Questions only the Sci-Fi Channel and the series producers can answer and they aren't talking to anyone - at least not yet. Cross your fingers and your toes on this one fans.

Oct 17: Ranger Telefilm Stinks?: A source over at AICN has seen the new B5: Legend of the Rangers and say it's better than than Crusade, but is still not very good. According to their source the film has bad writing and the acting isn't much better. The ships are nothing spectacular though the SFX are better than that used in Crusade. About the only thing positive with the telefilm is the score. Based on this review (and no others) this will never spawn a television series. Click on over the AICN and check out there complete review of the telefilm.

Oct 17: More Die Hard?: Cindy Pearlman of the Chicago Sun Times reported that Bruce Willis is already backing off his previous statements about not doing anymore Die Hard films. While inappropriate at this time, Willis would like to do a prequel to 'Die Hard'. And that he has not ruled out doing another Die Hard in the future. (movie hole)  Dang Bruce... what the hell is it - Yes or no for cryin' out loud.

Oct 17: The A-Team: This TV series is headed to the big screen in the future and Top Cow has plans. Mel Gibson tops the list but his $25M per picture could put him out of range. Also on the 'A' list to play Col. Hannibal Smith are Jack Nicholson ($15 to $20M), Tommy Lee Jones ($15M), Gene Hackman (about $10M), Paul Newman, and Robert Redford. Nice list but hard to picture any but maybe Tommy Lee Jones in an action type role really. And who would play B.A. Baraccus? Well, they are looking at Michael Clarke Duncan, LL Cool J, and Ving Rahmes. For face man... Adrian Paul (tracker), Charlie Sheen (spin city), Dean Cain (superman). Murdock... they thought about Jim Carrey but that would blow the budget so they are thinking... Michael Keaton (batman) or Jason Lee. Harrison Ford is interested in playing the lead villain in the film, like Col. Decker. (movie hole)

Oct 17: Sin: Director Michael Stevens will be directing a new thriller titled 'SIN', which will star Gary Oldman, Alicia Coppola and Ving Rhames. The story follows an ex-cop who life is turned upside down after his less the angelic sister disappears.

Oct 17: Scorpion Re-shoots: The Scorpion King will be doing about three weeks and $4M worth of re-shoots in the heat of the Yuma, Arizona desert. Right now it looks like they will be beefing up the battle scenes in the film. The only real CGI for the film will be to help put you in the 3000BC motif, like they did in Gladiator. (AICN)

Oct 16: Wonder Woman News: Got an interesting email today- with news from a Sept. 15th article in Prevue Magazine that a virtual unknown may be considered for the recently departed Bullock role of Wonder Woman. She is the sexy brunette from the series 'Poltergeist: the Legacy Series', Jordan Bayne. The email says the actress even looks like Lynda Carter and can do the stunts required for the role. They've even gone as far as photoshoping a photo with her in Wonder Woman clothes - which was passed around the offices. Baynes fansite has a similar, but less professional done collage on it. Using a virtual unknown has worked for Superman and even Wolverine in the X-Men. The Sept. 26th article may be before Bullock backed out, but Bayne could have been in the running before Bullock was agreed to the role.

Oct 16: Bond 20: Riverdancer Jean Butler, a beautiful red headed Irish dance queen, is flying to London almost immediately to meet with James Bond producers for a role in the upcoming film. She is good friends with Pierce Brosnan. (dark horizons)

Oct 16: Buffy: Seth Green had been asked to return for the Halloween episode and originally accepted. He has had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts.

Oct 16: Fox Gets Tunnel Vision: Apparently Fox has beaten out ABC for the genre series remake of Irwin Allen's 'The Time Machine' after the two networks battled over the series. Fox is now finalizing their deal with 20th Century Fox and Regency Television. Fox however is only committing to a pilot telefilm, but with a seven figure penalty attached to it. ABC still wants the project and has faxed 20th execs that they will match and exceed Fox's most current offer.

Oct 16: WitchbladeWith the series getting the green light for another season on TNT, writer/director Ralph Hemecker has signed on to return for the second season. Witchblade is expected in the summer of 2002.

Oct 16: I-Man To Disappear!!: The Invisible man becomes the first casualty of the new season as the second round of talks ended with the official cancellation of our favorite Invisible hero. The Sci-Fi Channel has yet to come forward and make the announcement but the new deal in work, for two more years has fallen through and the series is officially gone. Until the SFC comes with their announcement they could go back to the table, but it seems extremely unlikely after this second attempt to save the series. The petition with 2000 names was submitted and they were given the responses from sponsors the fans wrote too. The SFC just doesn't care... UPN should pick up this series. Already has a great fan base like 'Roswell'. Unfortunately the cancellation comes at a bad time - the beginning of the new season.

Oct 16: L.E.X.X. Renewed: While a quality show like the Invisible couldn't make it as the SFC's number 2 show, the Sci-Fi Channel greenlighted another season of L.E.X.X.

Oct 16: No PREY on Sci-Fi: If any PREY fans were hoping to see their project return, perhaps on the Sci-Fi Channel, you will be waiting a long time. In a chat last week with Thomas Vitale, the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions, Scheduling, and Programming Planner at Sci-Fi said there isn't a chance to do a PREY movie in the foreseeable future. That is the reason for the I-Man/Prey style crossover type episode. To... appease those fans. Like this is enough for them. With Bill Schmidt working for UPN on 'Special Unit 2' (a very funny and well done show) PREY fans should turn their attention to that network.

Oct 16: Chronicle Trouble??: Well, when it rains, it pours. Despite all the positive things being said and written about the series, the Sci-Fi Channel just might be getting ready to lay the axe down on 'the Chronicle'. The SFC has been unhappy with the shows budget since they picked it up, constantly searching for ways to cut the shows financial burden on the network. The 7pm time slot is likely to put the final nail in the coffin.

Oct 16: Birds of Prey: With the WB excited about the 'Smallville' series they are now considering a new series based on another DC Comic Book 'Birds of Prey'. It is an offshoot of the Batman comics of the same name. A drama series centered around three female crime fighters. Tomb Raider scribe Laeta Kalogridis is attached to pen the pilot script. The WB already has two other fantasy projects in work. One is a land of Oz based series and the other being the Tarzan series mentioned last month. (hollywood reporter)

Oct 16: X-Men 2: Comics2Film reports that the script for X-Men 2 is nearly complete. About time, don't ya think. Gotta get it done so you can tweak on it for another few months.

Oct 15: Hulk Update: The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Australian actor 'Eric Bana' has officially signed on to star as Bruce Banner in the upcoming 'Incredible Hulk'. Bana can be seen in Ridley Scott's war film 'Black Hawk Down'.

Oct 15: King Conan: Arnold Swartzenegger told TheArnoldFan website that he approached Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson about appearing with him in King Conan: the Crown of Iron as his son. No word on whether Johnson is positive about the idea or not. There is also script problems as it is violent and gory, and the producers, the matrix producers, want it toned down.

Oct 15: Brock Danger: Warner Bro. and Gaylord Films have purchased the rights to an Austin Powers and Indiana Jones type genre comedy project 'Brock Danger'. The project is scripted by Jason Oremland and Greg Erb.

Oct 15: Bruce Campbell Sighting: All you Bruce Campbell fans in the Dayton, Ohio area get ready... 'B' star Bruce Campbell will be at 'Books and Co.' in Dayton Ohio October 29th from 6pm to 8pm to talk about his new book and sign copies.

Oct 15: Spiderman 2: Variety tells us that Sony and director Sam Raimi are feeling great about the potential for a sequel to the as yet unreleased 'Spiderman'. So much so that they are working on preparations to fast-track Spiderman 2. It helps that Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are both signed for two sequels.

Oct 15: Wonder Woman: TV Week has learned that since Sandra Bullock has passed on the Wonder Woman role, 'Friends' star Jennifer Aniston is interested in taking on the lead. She would also like to play the Bionic Woman in a remake. Aniston could never play Wonder Woman. She just isn't leading lady material. She could not carry the role. LUCY LAWLESS could be Wonder Woman and carry the role.

Oct 15: Alien 5: Moviehole.com is reporting that Sigourney Weave has met with director Ridley Scott about some ideas for a 5th Alien film. Unfortunately in an upcoming interview she doesn't reveal if anything seems positive about a new film.

Oct 15: SAVE I-MAN!: 'REPEAT' Want to help Prey and Farscape fans save the Invisible Man? Are you will to take a stand on something you care about? Then make the call, and here my friends is the numbers to call... The idea is to keep the phones ringing constantly. here's the numbers: call anytime: 212-413-5821 and 212-413-5577. Between 9 AM and 6 PM EST call 212-413-5000 and ask for "programming". The boxes fill up quickly but PLEASE continue to call back until you get through. On a slim bright note, members of the series were called back yesterday after the horrible news and told that the SFC/USA are still thinking it over. Duhhhhhh? Do we want to save our second rated series? What a bunch of idiots... OH... sign the petition at... CLICK HERE or as some fans of I-Man would have you do... email Proctor and Gamble who does product placement on the show.

Oct 14: Studios Kill Regal: Regal Cinema have filed for bankruptcy, chapter 11. Why, likely the cost of going to a movie. Hollywood wants so much of the ticket take, that cinemas rip off the customer on candy, sodas, and popcorn. So what happens... we don't go to the movies. Hollywood boasts of record breaking years money wise. However the true test is to look at ticket sales from year to year. How many tickets were sold in 1977 versus today against how many theatres there were. Are the studios really breaking records. Nope, less people are actually going to the movies. No business realizes you can make more by charging less.

Oct 14: Willis Gets Stupid: In an interview with Zap2it, Bruce Willis says he knew people who died in the Sept 11 attack and will beg off doing anymore action films. What? The 46 year old actor has lost his drive to battle on-screen terrorists. I'm not an action star anymore Willis says. (gossipmagazine.com) Well, that was pretty stupid. Let's not do what made you a name in Hollywood.  Willis is a decent actor, but a great action star.

Oct 14: Seagal and the Rappers: Steven Seagal gave his career a boost with Joel Silvers 'Exit Wounds' starring opposite a rapper. Maybe twice is better? Seagal's new project 'Half Past Dead' has signed two top rappers to help him this time in 'Ja Rule' and 'Kurupt'. Don Michael Paul (Harley Davidson &the Marlboro Man) will direct the project about a criminal who infiltrates a prison to convince a death row inmate to help him recover $200M in gold from a previous heist.

Oct 15: Smallville Cover: Josh Hadley was nice enough to donate a beautiful VHS Cover Sheet for the new WB series 'Smallville' based on a young Superman. The series follows a young Clark Kent, which will never wear the blue and red tights much less fly. He will however leap tall buildings in a single bound. Thanks for the cover Josh. CLICK HERE for the VHS Cover Area.

Oct 14: Xbox Scores: For its upcoming Xbox game 'Dead or Alive 3' they have licensed three (3), Aerosmith songs. The game will be equipped with 5.1 Dolby Surround with the songs Nine Lives, Amazing, and Home Tonight. Microsoft has very high expectations for this title.

Oct 14: The Last Warrior: Chapters 13 & 14 have been added to my online novel. CLICK HERE for 'The Last Warrior' area. All chapters are in word document format.

Oct 14: Enterprise: The third week of the new series 'Enterprise' brought with it another drop in the ratings. This week was 9%. They are saying that is still 35% better than Star Trek Voyager after its third week. What about Next Generation or Deepspace Nine. Voyager is the worse in the franchise. Is that all we can compare the new series too. This is suppose to be a rebirth for Star Trek.

Oct 14: X-Files: The season premiere of the X-Files comes to Fox on November 9th, with Lucy Lawless appearing in the two-part season opener. She'll play Shannon McMahon - a character from Doggett's past while in the military. Says Lawless, "You don't know if she is good and you don't know if she is bad. (scifi wire)

Oct 14: Superman: There is a rumor afoot that Charlie's Angels helmer McG has signed to direct the long in development hell project... Superman.  However with the projects that McG has lined up it seems unlikely he will have the time to direct a project that doesn't even have a story devised yet. Hello?

Oct 13: Censoring Hollywood Is it right for Hollywood to start censoring movies about terrorist attacks or the World Trade Center? I don't think it is. Sci-Fi fan Scott Webster checks in with his opinion in today's editorial. CLICK HERE to check out Scott Webster's opinion.

Oct 13: The Pretender Returns: TNT's second Pretender movie titled 'The Pretender: The Island of the Haunted' will premiere on December 10th at 8pm. Jarod is again on the move against the Center. The first telefilm was very good.

Oct 13: The Tick: The new live action series 'The Tick' premieres on Fox November 8th. The commercials for this series look really stupid. I can understand why Fox pushed this series back.

Oct 13: Terminator 3 Trouble: What is up with the script now? The movie hole is reporting that Terminator 3 will not even begin production now until the summer of 2002. That was to have been the release date for the Terminator 4. The writers are reportedly still tweaking on the script. Great... that really... tweaks my mellons.

Oct 13: Wonder Woman: A rumor is out that Sandra Bullock has backed out of Wonder Woman after getting sick of waiting on the project to get started. Who can blame her. What is up with Joel Silver on this one? (coming soon)

Oct 13: Special Unit 2: Did I mention already that as of right now, this series has better writing than Enterprise? Yeah, I thought I did. SU2 is a cool show. This and the SFC's The Chronicle would be a great pair.

Oct 13: Sommers Says NO!: Director Steven Sommers has told E! online that he is not interested in directing a third Mummy film. He says he didn't give much thought to the extras for the DVD either. Sounds like the man is tired of the Mummy. Sommers should step back and do sequel to 'Deep Rising' starring Treat Williams. A great action/horror flick.

Oct 13: Lost World: The belated third season of 'The Lost World' begins on the week of Oct 15. Most of us will see it on the weekend. Nice to have the series around for another season. The new series website reportedly should be back up and running very soon. The bulletin board has always been up.

Oct 13: Tracker Premiere: The premiere of Adrian Paul's new series 'TRACKER' also premieres the week of Oct. 15 in syndication. Check your local listing for time and dates in your area.

Oct 13: SFC's Biggest Mistake: Judging by the ratings the Next Generation scored on TNN during the Next Generation one week marathon, it was definitely the Sci-Fi Channel's loss not spending the money to score the Star Trek franchise from Paramount. Big Mistake, huge, enormous, large, and gargantuan. This franchise would have given the SFC over 500 episodes of broadcasting hours and all the Star Trek fans tuning in to their network. Stupid mistake, but hey... these guys at the SFC are getting good at it.

Oct 12: Chrome Area Open: The new area of Sci-Fi 2000 dedicated to the production of Timothy Hines and Susan Goforth's 'CHROME' is now open. The area includes production photos, concept art, and production crew images as well. More goodies are on the way. You can even check out Katie Tomlinson's interview with me, and photos of her too. CLICK HERE FOR CHROME.

Oct 12: The Time Tunnel: Regency Television & 20th Century Fox are developing Irwin Allen's 'The Time Tunnel' for a return to television in a new pilot and possible series. The pilot and possible series is being produced by Kevin Burns, Jon Jashni and Irwin Allen's widow, Sheila Allen. Reports are that ABC & Fox have made substantial bids on the pilot and possible series. ABC's bid is the highest so far, and includes a 13 episode commitment. Fox is willing to match ABC's offer, but ABC is willing to go higher.

Oct 12: Fantastic Four: The FlikSpot has an inside source close to Stargate SG-1 that reports Richard Dean Anderson has been in talks for a big budget 'Superhero' project involving director Peyton Reed. Reed happens to be developing the long, long, long anticipated 'Fantastic Four' feature film. Anderson seems a bad choice for any role of the Fantastic Four. AICN says the rumor is untrue...

Oct 12: X-Men 2: Dark Horizons is reporting some news from their always reliable source, that so far in the new script the only new character introduced is 'Nightcrawler'.

Oct 12: Mathew Blackheart: Remember the Sci-Fi Channels long talked about, never happen, series... 'Mathew Blackheart, Monster Smasher'. Well, we don't get the series since no one was interested in picking up the series from the pilot. But the Sci-Fi Channel will be airing the pilot movie Saturday Night at 7pm. A telefilm to add to the collection. (thanks Scott)

Oct 12: C.S.I. News: Ann Donahue and Carol Mendelsohn, the showrunners and executive producers of the hit series Crime Scene Investigation have signed a two-year deal to remain with the series for at least another two years.  This may guarantee C.S.I. will be around for at least four seasons. (hollywood reporter)

Oct 12: Buffy Repeats: Buffy has staked her claim on the syndicated off-network market with a 2.7 ratings beating out the premiere of 'ER' in 1998. Buffy has a huge following even in syndication. Hard to believe Sarah Michelle Gellar is planning to walk away from her series when her contract is up.

Oct 12: Chrome: The Chrome extension from this site is nearly done. Waiting on the OK from Pendragon Pictures, and the newer material before opening the new area. Already have a new image of Katie Tomlinson. Hopefully in the next day or so...

Oct 12: Witchcraft Hall: The WB will be trying out a new Sabrina, the Teenage Witch spin-off series 'Witchcraft Hall'. The concept for the new series will be attempted in an upcoming episode of Sabrina as a backdoor pilot. The new series will be set to fit into the WB's Friday night family line-up. The episode is being written by 'Married With Children's' writer Russell Marcus.

Oct 11: Buffy Beats Gilmore: The WB tried to ruin the second episode of season six for Buffy on UPN by dumping out the series Premiere of 'Gilmore Girls'. Buffy edge the Gilmore chicks 2.7 to 2.6. A narrow margin but still a winner.

Oct 11: Collateral Return: Arnold Swartzenegger's 'Collateral Damage' was once believed to be shelved indefinitely, due to a terrorist attack appears headed back to theatres as early as February 2002. Arnold told KTLA in an interview yesterday that the film would be out in February but the studio has yet to make an official announcement though expected soon. (movie headlines)

Oct 11: Roswell: The season three premiere of Roswell earned a neat 1.7 ratings in its Tuesday night time slot after Buffy. Not the best ratings, but the best ratings UPN has had in that time slot though.

Oct 11: Dracula 2000: Moviehole.com got a scoop yesterday that Jason Scott Lee (dragon, soldier) will star in both direct to video sequels to 'Dracula 2000'. The first film is already filming in Romania and is titled 'Dracula Resurrected'. Patrick Lussier is directing.

Oct 11: Vigilante: Edward Burns of Saving Private Ryan will be starring in the action/thriller 'Vigilante' from scribe Chris Hauty through a joint venture with StudioCanal. A news reported goes after a gang who murdered his wife and finds himself the target of a rogue cop. (moviehole)

Oct 11: No Man in Batsuit: While Warner Brothers likes the idea of a Batman restart according to 'Batman on Film'. However, Warner believes the time frame is too short since the last Batman. (only four years) It looks like Batman may be a long way off from returning to the big screen. So you might as well ignore any rumors of casting for the many, at least three, Batman projects that were being considered. (moviehole)

Oct 11: Square Pictures: After spending investing over $135M and four years into their CGI studio Square Pictures in Hawaii, Square Company Ltd. will pull funding from the studio. The studio will get no funds from Square Co. but can continue operations. The CGI studio will continue to develop projects funded by other studios and Square has no plans to sell of the company or close it down. Square Pictures prez Jun Aida told the Hollywood Reporter that the forecast for the company looks good. They have one project in work and are discussing more with other studios. Square Pictures has dropped from 220 at its peak down to 125 employees. They would hire another 10 to 50 based on the type of animation project they picked up CGI or photo realistic.

Oct 11: Fans Over the Edge: Sometimes fans can take things a bit to far... Thousands of Britons devoted to the Star Wars films have claimed the fictional faith Jedi as their religion and forced it onto the next national census, newspapers reported on Thursday.   Do you really want to be part of a faith from a movie, and one that won't stand against something like slavery? There is nothing noble about being a Jedi. These guys were sitting around while the galaxy was falling apart.

Oct 11: Aquaman Games: TDK Mediactive has purchased a long term worldwide licensing agreement with DC Comics for Aquaman. The agreement gives TDK Mediactive the rights to develop and publish games featuring Aquaman and his underwater kingdom Atlantis for next-generation videogame platforms. The first Aquaman title is scheduled to release in 2002. Platforms will be announced at a later date. (comics continuum)

Oct 11: I-Man Battle Royal!: I don't know if its the fans, the petitions or the phone calls but the Invisible Source informs me that there is someone at the Sci-Fi Channel who wants the series to continue. Head I-Man Honcho Barry Diller has been called back for further negotiations of not one, but TWO more seasons of the series 'The Invisible Man'. Where did this sudden change come from? Who the hell knows, but it could be good news if true. Gotta be the fans. Would you want fans, like PREY fans coming down on you? Not me... More as I get it...

Oct 10: Chrome: More information and artwork coming soon on the Pendragon Pictures new feature 'CHROME'. Sci-Fi 2000 will be opening up a new area in the coming weeks dedicated to the creation of the film, like 'War of the Worlds'.

Oct 11: Howl: Scribe Jonathan Lemkin, who wrote Lethal Weapon 4, will make his directing debut in 'HOWL' a werewolf tale he wrote and sold to Warner Brothers. There is no production date set as yet for the film.

Oct 11: Derailed: Jean Claude-Van Damme has signed on to a Under Seige 2 style train film titled 'Derailed'. The project begins filming in Europe at the end of this month. The story... Van Damme is the only man who can stop a terrorist stolen train before it derails into a city. (hollywood reporter)

Oct 11: Enterprise: Well, week three came and went for the new series 'Enterprise'. The story... sucked... Everything about this series is beyond my expectations except the writing. No fan will be able to take this for seven more years. Changes have to be made at some point.

Oct 11: Special Unit 2: This series just aired its second week episode after Enterprise. Nicely done I might add. The series is definitely different from the first six original episodes of the first season, but it's still good. It doesn't have the budget Enterprise does, but the writing is so much better, and this one is the 'Monster of the Week' series. This is a series that doesn't take itself serious, and has fun with the stories and characters. Gotta like it.

Oct 11: Gamecube Sell Out: Toys-R-Us has announced that their pre-order GameCube bundles sold out in four minutes. Nintendo is boasting that it is outselling the Xbox at 8 times the pace. I would not purchase anything from Nintendo. Me... the Xbox is the game machine, if you want something other than the Playstation.

Oct 10: No Ring For Cameron: AICN is disputing rumors about James Cameron working on a feature film based on Niven's 'Ringworld'. AICN reports now that Niven's agent says there is absolutely no deal, nor a deal in the planning with James Cameron. The Sci-Fi Channel is working on a series based on the novels.

Oct 10: Mummy Money: Thought the Mummy Returns was a hit at the box office? Well after just three weeks in release the DVD/VHS release of the film has grossed over $90M. Over 2 million DVD have been sold. Video sales are 70% greater than the first film did.

Oct 10: ILM does Hulk: Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic will be bringing the Incredible Hulk to life on the big screen. The deal gives ILM a long period of time to put the Hulk together since the film isn't schedule for release until 2003. Oscar winner for visual effects wizard for Terminator 2, Dennis Muren, will oversee the visuals for the film. ILM already has a slew of projects in work which include, Star Wars Episode 2 and Men In Black.

Oct 10: Invisible Reason: Without much thinking it appears that the... Sci-Fi Channel gave up the Invisible Man for Stargate SG-1, whose ratings are slightly higher than I-Man. Unfortunately there will only be one more season of Stargate SG-1, and there could have been multiple seasons of I-Man. This is a network that has spread themselves to thin with to many projects in work and no money. Being part USA Studios doesn't help either. They have lost the rights to so many classic sci-fi series it's pathetic.

Oct 9: I-Man AXED!: I can't believe it! The Sci-Fi Channel has actually CANCELLED its number two rated series on the network... the Invisible Man. There will be no third season of this great series. This is a friggin' horrible decision from USA Network and the Sci-Fi Fucking Channel. Pray that this network does NOT pick up the PREY franchise from Warner Brothers. Oh my God! Wouldn't UPN be a wonderful place for 'the Invisible Man'??? Drop UPN some mail...

Oct 9: Futurama: Fans of the animated series in region 2 will be happy to know that the first season will be coming to DVD on February 7th, 2002. There is no word on if or when it will come to region 1.

Oct 9: Capricorn One: I once said this would be a great film to get a remake. Now the 1978 action thriller is getting a make over from Carlton American and Fox TV. So don't get overly excited as it will just be in telefilm form rather than big budget feature film. But, if done correctly the telefilm could be a worthwhile project. Make sure you check out the James Brolin film 'Capricorn One' DVD which is already out. Available to purchase for about $10. (scifi.com)

Oct 9: Roswell: The season three premiere of the series Roswell, is on tonight. Where? Why UPN of course... Airing with the premiere will be week 2 of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. Go UPN!

Oct 9: Ringworld: James Cameron appears ready to helm a feature film based on the novel 'Ringworld' from Larry Niven. As of Saturday a tentative agreement had been reached between Niven, Cameron, and Mandel who actually owns the rights to the novel. (moviehole)

Oct 9: Babylon 5: SciFi.com has revamped its 'Legend of the Rangers' area of their site. The site includes web only trailers to the telefilm, an interview with Andreas Katsulas and more.

Oct 9: Two More crypts: Universal has greenlit two direct to video sequels to 'Tales From the Crypt'.

Oct 9: Lost Girls: A sequel to the Lost Boys, seems to be happening according to an interview in Filmlink with Joel Schumacher. He is producing the sequel but not directing, so will have nothing to do with the casting. So he doesn't know about the rumors of Britney Spears taking on one of the leads in the film. Says Schumacher... "If she can act, she might be in it. I don't know, I'm not directing and the director will choose."

Oct 9: Mutant X Anyone?: Scott Strout checks in with his visual opinion of the new 'Mutant X' series... After all the legal battles to before hand Mutant X made it's debut during the weekend. While the show has a great look and great special effects. It does have it's flaws. That being less then stellar acting and characters that need some fleshing out. If not it's just a little better then your average weekend syndi-show. I could also do without another Matrix style slow motion fight scene. They were cool once, but it just seems to be an idea worn into the ground. I'll give the show a few more weeks to keep my attention and see if the show can advance beyond it's great look and live up to the promise I thought it had.

Oct 9: Two More Dracs: Miramax has jumped in line with Universal and approved two direct to video sequels to the recent 'Dracula 2000' feature. Looks like the 'Direct To Video' market is a direct to Dollar secret hit thing to do. There is a ton of $$$ in the DTV market.

Oct 8: Aquaman: Just for the record there is only an animated feature in work. Any rumors concerning particular actors negotiating for roles in FALSE. However, a live action feature is being looked into and considered. There is nothing official with it. For fans of Aquaman there was a television pilot done that never aired. It was floating around the internet. I do have a piss poor quality VHS copy of it. Good thing they never tried to bring it to television. It was a cheesy as the live action 'Justice League' pilot that was done and never made it to television. The copies for that on the internet are much better. Imagine a chunky 'Flash'. :)

Oct 8: X-Men 2 Date: The sequel to 'X-Men 2' may not be starting in January as rumors persist. According to some it is not likely to begin until the June/July time frame. Patrick Stewart begins filming 'Star Trek X' in November 2000.  (dark horizons)

Oct 8: Goldmember: With word coming that Tom Cruise may be out in the Austin Powers cameo, now comes rumor that Pierce Brosnan (James Bond) may now do the cameo appearance in the third film.

Oct 8: Secret Square: The game publisher Square may be out of the animation business, but their Hawaii SFX house is busy working on a secret $40M animated feature for another studio.

Oct 8: Baywatch Blast: Ever been saved by a Whale? Well, David Hasselhoff's (Knightrider) character on Baywatch will have been for the two hour finale wrap-up movie 'Baywatch Blast'. A migrating whale will have saved him, and carried Buchanan to a deserted Island. The various characters will return to visit as Buchanan returns home after everyone thinking he had died earlier in the series.

Oct 8: Gods & Generals: Ted Turner visited the set of his new $51M civi ware era film in western Maryland city. Robert Duvall (the sixth day) plays General Robert E. Lee and co-stars Jeff Daniels, Bruce Boxleitner (babylon 5), and Maria Sorviino (mimic). Warner Bro. is planning to release the film in late 2002.

Oct 8: Chrome Art: Got two great images of concept art for the upcoming science fiction fantasy film 'CHROME'.  CLICK HERE to be zipped over and check out the new concept art.

Oct 8: Doherty in the Weeds: It isn't a new movie starring the ex-Charmed star Shannon Doherty. Doherty after her court ruling will be picking up weeds and garbage off the roadside for five days.

Oct 8: Training Day Scores: Denzel Washington's new rogue cop feature opened to whopping dollars taking in $24.1M over the weekend, proving to Hollywood hopefully that Americans love this stuff. Stop treating us like infants.

Oct 8: Tomlinson, What an Ass: That is of course, meant in an extremely good way as Sci-Fi 2000 has received a new, very revealing image of a sexy Katie Tomlinson, who will be starring in Timothy Hines new 'Chrome' big budget action sci-fi fantasy... CHROME. Click Katie's link (in blue) and check out all of her photos.

Oct 7: War of the Worlds to CHROME: In the latest press release from Timothy Hines and Susan Goforth, War of the Worlds will be retooled. The script has to be completely rewritten  from the ground up and the location moved to it original 1898 setting. Sets and preparations that were already complete are being scrapped. It is sad but something they feel must be done. In the interim Pendragon Pictures will begin production on a second science fiction film titled 'Chrome'. Chrome is also a large scale production set in the future about a race of slave robots oppressed by a Nazi-like totalitarian society and the hero robot that appears to lead the mechanical slaves to freedom. CLICK HERE to read the entire press release from Mr. Hines and Ms. Goforth. Recommended reading.

Oct 6: Andromeda: The second season of 'Andromeda' begins today, Saturday. The series is definitely worth taking a peak at. The special effects for the series might be only second to the Sci-Fi Channel's 'Farscape', though the new Enterprise is getting there. There are some great surprises planned for season two, which includes Dylan Hunt's need to get hot and heavy on rebuilding the commonwealth.

Oct 6: Dick Tracy: The comic detective turned 70 this week, and Warren Beatty is working on a DVD release of his less than stellar feature of 'Dick Tracy'.  Dick was originally 135 minutes and much darker, but Beatty was afraid of that and made the movie lighter and only about 105 minutes. A new Region 1 DVD is planned and Beatty will be putting some of the footage back into the film and some of the extra footage will be added as cut scenes. Germany and the UK already have the full 135 minute version on DVD. We obviously will not be getting that version either.

Oct 6: War of the Worlds: I was asked to retract my rumored news that 'War of the Worlds' would begin production on 'October 8th'. Timothy Hines has informed me that production of the feature will NOT be going into production anytime soon. Timothy Hines will be releasing more information about his plans very soon. Please be patient.

Oct 6: X-Men 2: Due to production of X-Men beginning in January Halle Berry, who plays Storm, has opted out of the hitman flick 'Gigli' with Ben Affleck since the two films production schedules overlap. She opted to stick with X-Men, though the role may be smaller, since the first film is her highest grossing film to date at $157M, rather than co-star with Affleck as a would be hit woman.

Oct 6: Monsters Inc.: The new Disney animated movie already has the Halloween costume thing going, and they are selling like hotcakes. These costumes will be in full run by Halloween on October 31 and the feature opens November 2nd.

Oct 6: Digital Cinema: George Lucas is getting his wish as both Qualcomm and Boeing Digital will begin in November setting up their technologies in their theatres. Dozens of theatres will be getting the upgrade, with thousands to be done over the next three years. Boeing's system will be a satellite distribution system in 10 theatres by the end of the year.

Oct 5: Outer Limits & SG-1 on eBay: Beginning today on eBay, MGM will be offering costumes, sets pieces, and props to the public through eBay to support the September 11th Fund. Over 250 items will be offered during the auction which includes a Tollan guard phaser, Osiris Knife from the episode 'Summit', cast signed scripts and photos; costumes worn by the cast of both series, and lots more stuff. (the wire)

Oct 5: War of Worlds Back On: According to reports War of the Worlds from director Timothy Hines is back on again. It was slated to begin production mid-Sept will now begin on October 8th.

Oct 5: USA Network screws Sci-Fi: With the Sci-Fi Channel doing so well in the advertising market these days, sister network USA Network has snatched up their advertising guru, Scott Silverstein for themselves. Says a USA Net. Rep... "Scott has done a great job with the SCI-FI Channel and we’re looking for him to emulate his success on behalf of USA Network." David Safran, from 'the Burly Bear Network', will take over the reins at the Sci-Fi CHannel. (internet wire)

Oct 5: Angel no Savior: Without Buffy as its lead in, Angel may be doomed this season on the WB. While the season will be shown in letterbox format... which most TV views dislike, the ratings are already less than what the WB was expecting after the first episode which garnered a mere 4.0 rating. Nice, but lower than what the WB had hoped for. Next season we may see 'Angel' on UPN, back with the Buffster.

Oct 5: Charmed, No Way: Anyone take in the new 'Charmed'. It was less than even what I expected. The series may be doomed. Rose McGowan does not fit the part she was cast for.

Oct 5: Mission Impossible 3: Tom Cruise has confirmed to 'Entertainment Tonight' that his is considering another Mission Impossible mission. Of course like any actor it will depend on money, I mean the story.

Oct 5: She Creature: The horror film shows this weekend on Cinemax. The story follows a circus owner who abducts a mysterious mermaid and takes her onboard a ship where he discovers way too late that she's a human flesh eater. (dark horizons)

Oct 5: Next Gen on TNN: I have enjoyed the Star Trek: The Next Generation marathon on TNN this week watching that most of the week when I am at home. However, the network has had some terrible sound problems airing the series. The volume goes up and down based on the segment. It has been better today, the last day of the marathon. Deepspace Nine should be next up for the network to begin showing sometime next year.

Oct 5: Enterprise Trouble: This is just the second week and the story for week 2 was horrible. Is this the best storylines they can come up with on a new series? Brannon Braga, Rick Berman and the writing staff apparently have NO imagination left. Come on, the originality of these people is long gone and the fans deserve better. The audience from week one dropped 21%. Not hard to believe after the first two weeks. Neither one had a decent story to tell.

Oct 5: Freddy vs Jason Still On: Robert Englund spoke during the Hollywood Release Party for his 'Boogieman' DVD, that while the project has been greenlit, he has also heard that the studio actually has a script that they are happy with. Part of the hold up with production starting is that contractual requirement that Jason X be released before production of Jason VS Freddy can begin. And finally after finding a release window they like Jason X will now hit theatres in March or early April 2002. Production of Jason vs Freddy is expect to begin shortly after the films release.

Oct 5: Wolf Lake Spreading: Unlike most series the audience for 'Wolf Lake' has been growing. Nearly 23% since the first week for the 18-34 demographic. Before long the series may have a Buffy-esque following. The series is down from number 45 to 65 in the standings.

Oct 5: Alias Scores: As expected the new series 'Alias' scored as the number one genre series in its opening week rating a 15/9 rating. Enterprise was number three behind the horrible series 'the Agency'. Enterprise might have made the number one series if UPN had the market coverage of an ABC or CBS. Alias could be the next C.S.I. surprise series.

Oct 5: Mad Max 4 is Go: Mel Gibson is not on board, at least not yet, but casting is scheduled to begin this month for 'Mad Max 4'. The new film will take place after the second film, 'the Road Warrior'. Mel Gibson has been offered the role and is apparently considering putting on the leathers one last time.

Oct 5: Starsky & Hutch: This ones seems to be a go, but will be a comedy feature staring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn and 'Road Trip' director Todd Philips is onboard to direct. Since this will not be an action film this is likely the last report here for the film.

Oct 5: Buffy Website: Check out UPN's Buffy the Vampire website at BuffyUPN.com. CLICK HERE to open a new browser and visit UPN's Buffy Site. The site went active Tuesday Oct. 2nd and has 1.2M new visitors.

Oct 5: It's Final for Fantasy: Japanese gamemaker Square Co. has announced there will be no more 'Final Fantasy' films in the Franchise that never materialized. The $137M feature grossed just under $38M, and is bombing in Japan markets making just $6M. Next week the company will pull the film from wide release. The film should do well in DVD format though. Could easily make back what it has lost and more. Square has announced they will stick to making video games, where they know what they are doing.

Oct 4: Ninja Turtles Everywhere: Brendan McCarthy co-writer for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. told a UK fanzine that he has just finished designing a new look for a live action Ninja Turtles film. This is being planned even with John Woo's animated feature in work. He also has worked with his original collaborator from the first film and written a new storyline that is adult in theme.

Oct 4: Daredevil: Variety is reporting that Ben Affleck has entered final negotiations to star as the blind superhero 'Daredevil'. Production is scheduled to begin next year in Vancouver. The film is budgeted for about $50M. Also expected in the film will be 'the Kingpin', 'Bullseye', and Daredevil's ex-girlfriend assassin, 'Electra'.

Oct 4: Goldmember: Michael Caine is in negotiations to star with Michael Myers in the third installment of Austin Powers as Captain Hendricks, a security specialist for the Royal Navy.

Oct 4: Fantasy Series: Looks like 'Forgotten Realms' might be getting the TV Series treatment according to Wizard of the Coast. Fireworks Television (Robocop: Prime Directives) has entered a licensing agreement with Hasbro property, which is based around the Dungeons and Dragon role playing game. Under the agreement Fireworks will develop the new series, while Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast come up with the storylines. There are already over 150 novels in the Fogotten Realm series.

Oct 4: Charmed Anyone: Anyone out there interested in Charmed now that Shannon Doherty (the best actress of the bunch) has been kicked off the show and replaced by Rose McGowan? The season premieres tonight at 8pm on the WB. This show has a feel of being doomed, the many may tune just to see the feel of the series with the change.

Oct 4: Buffy Scores: The two hour season six premiere of Buffy earned UPN a whopping 6.2/9 average. Many fans tuned in to see how much difference if any there would be having Buffy on UPN rather than the WB. Buffy ratings were about three times higher than they ever were on the WB.

Oct 4: Wonder Woman: Comics2Film is reporting that Production team has been put together for Joel Silver's 'Wonder Woman' feature.

Oct 4: Gangs of New York: Martin Scorsese' new film 'Gangs of New York' is apparently headed for a 2002 release than the big 2001 date previously hoped for. The film currently runs about three hours, and the Miramax now wants the film to be sliced and diced to two and a half hours. Big mistake. But for Hollywood, that makes for one extra showing per day despite whether not the film sucks from the cuts.

Oct 4: Stone Trouble: Sharon Stones brain ailment has been diagnosed worse than originally thought. The 43 year old actress is undergoing further testing.

Oct 3: Nemesis in 2002: Upcoming Movies has confirmed that Paramount will be releasing Star Trek 10: Nemesis in late 2002 and not 2003.

Oct 3: C.S.I. Scores: The second season of C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation opened with a huge boost. The CBS series murdered up a whopping 14.2 rating for the number 4 spot, hitting nearly 15M households. This series is wonderful. A riveting series.

Oct 3: Cable Suffering: TNT, TBS, and USA networks are taking it in the shorts when it comes to primetime ratings. Their ratings continue to drop as viewers tune in elsewhere for primetime shows. Perhaps these cable networks and others should look at the number of commercials we have to watch from their networks. Ten minutes of a show followed by nearly five minutes of commercials... it just isn't worth watching. Tune in elsewhere.

Oct 3: New Mini-Me?: What is up with this? Dark Horizons is reporting that the casting breakdowns for the new Austin Powers: Goldmember indicates that New Line is searching for a new actor to play Mini-Me.

Oct 3: Enterprise & Special Unit 2: Tonight is the night for both series to appear together on UPN. The action begins at 8pm.

Oct 3: Sci-Fi Channel Trouble: All may not be so thumbs up for the Sci-Fi Channel. The USA child network has made some leaps and bounds over the past two-years, but the network has fallen off in the third quarter year to year. This year in double digits by 11%.

Oct 3: Trek & TNN: TNN has shown huge gains since making the change over from the Nashville Network, to the National Network. The Star Trek franchise joins the network this week with the Next Generation and other series following soon. The network has displayed double digit gains quarter to quarter.... 43% to be exact.

Oct 3: J.A.G.: CBS' other three initial show J.A.G. scored well in its opening week to earn a number 9 rating for the week 12 & 12.7M homes.

Oct 2: No More Die Hard: Bruce Willis has confirmed that due to the terrorist attack on New York, there will be no more 'Die Hard' films in the franchise. Another STUPID Hollywood decision. We should be use to them by now.

Oct 2: Mummy Returns: Want a deal on the new 'Mummy Returns' DVD? Well, get your butt over to Walmart were you can get a copy of the new DVD for $17.99 (thanks to Brian)

Oct 2: Another Video Game Movie: Coming Attractions is reporting that Dimension Films has purchased the feature film rights to horror video game, 'Alone In The Dark'. Hans Rodionoff pitched the idea and will be writing the films script.

Oct 2: Terminator SE: Brian also lets up know that Best Buy has the new DVD release of 'Terminator: Special Edition' for just $19.99. That's the same price you can get them over the internet for.

Oct 2: Buckaroo Banzai: The new Special Edition Banzai DVD, beyond the normal extras, will include the deleted scenes. Something everyone loves to see.

Oct 2: Buffy Tonight: The two-hour season six premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on UPN comes tonight at 8pm.

Oct 1: Alien 5 Again: Sigourney Weaver is talking 'Alien 5' Again. She has told some people at the third annual Williamstown Film Festival, that in two weeks she is having a meeting with Ridley Scott to talk about the possibility of an 'Alien 5' feature in which they go to the aliens home world. Writer 'Steve Perry' already has a great book where they do just that. She has already discussed this over the phone some with Scott, but will meet with him to talk more. Neither of them has talked with Fox about a fifth film. (hollywood reporter)

Oct 1: Site Stats: Hello all. The site is still kicking, and once again I thank all of you for visiting. Over 117GB of bandwidth for September. Incredible!! Nearly 62,000 pageviews and 969,001 hits on the site for Sept. I can't thank you all enough for coming to Sci-Fi 2000. Again, this months beats the others. You, the fans, RULE!!! Thank you.

Oct 1: Special Unit 2: The second season premiere of UPN's hit series 'Special Unit 2' airs this wednesday night after 'Enterprise'. Season one of the series was only six episodes. SFX for this season should be much better than last with Andromeda's 'Jim Finn' as the series SFX Supervisor. This is a series to watch like the SFC's 'the Chronicle'.

Oct 1: Farscape 44: 44? That's renewal for two more seasons of 22 episodes each people. The Sci-Fi Channel has officially announced the series renewal for two more seasons. Despite being on the Sci-Fi Channel the show has doubled its audience during its three seasons. The series is now guaranteed a five year run and at least 100 episodes. Generally the viable number set for selling a series rerun rights.

Oct 1: Stupid Trekkers: Can you believe there is actually a petition to get the opening music changed for the new Trek series 'Enterprise'? Seems most Star Trek dead heads want the same dull style theme that every Trek series has had. Are you really fans?  I found the opening sequence refreshing as well as an outstanding opening. Changing it would be a huge mistake. We don't need the same technobabble style series that the Star Trek franchise was turning into.

Oct 1: I-Man Petition: It is really hard to imagine why the Sci-Fi Channel has yet to announce the renewal of its number two series 'Invisible Man' yet, or even if it will. The fans are not idle about this either. There is a petition to the SFC for the series renewal. CLICK HERE to check out the petition and get involved bringing the series back for a third season. With Farscape getting its two-year renewal today, it might be just a few more days before we hear about I-Man's renewal. But let the SFC folks know you  want the series back.

Oct 1: Stargate Changes: You knew coming over to the Sci-Fi Channel would mean changes to the series 'Stargate SG-1' for its sixth and final season. The first big change comes in Michael Shanks, who plays civilian archaeologist Daniel Jackson will not be part of the cast in season six, though MAY guest appear during the season. A new civilian archaeologist will be joining the cast as it comes to the SFC. That is one way to cut the budget a bit.

Oct 1: Stone has Brain Ailment: Total Recall's 'Sharon Stone has been hospitalized with a Brain Ailment. Bleeding in the brain believed to be caused by an aneurysm. She is resting comfortably and will remain hospitalized for the rest of the week.

Oct 1: Singer Returns: Marc Singer, the original Beastmaster, joins the TV series of the same name for a few episodes in the third season, which begins this week.  Marc Singer is most famous for the incredible Maxi-Series... 'V'. V's first mini-series is currently on DVD and the second mini-series is on its way... It is also available in its entirety on VHS.

Oct 1: Alias: The new series KICKS!! Here's Scott Strout's take on the new show... On the surface the premise of a college girl who works as a CIA operative does sound more then a little silly, but in practice a different story is told. Jennifer Garner is perfect in her role. PERFECT! She's sexy, tough and above all a great actress. Her and the acting in the rest of the cast is what really makes the show work. You really get drawn in enough to believe that everything  going on is entirely real. There's some impressive action in the show also, but it's not taken too over the top to be totally unbelievable. As a matter a fact the acting was done so well that the action scenes are almost out of place when they occur  and even if  they were toned down the show would still work well. It will be interesting to see how the show will do in it's initial rating and then if it can hold it up against a returning X-Files with it's established fan base. All and all I give Alias an A+ and it is easily the best new show so far.

Oct 1: Dragon's Lair: With the game coming to CD-Rom in the near future, the feature animated film from Don Bluth is still in pre-production but the script is done and the storyboarding is being worked on. The film will be done in the style of the video game. A cast list has been selected but no one is secured yet. They are working on private financing and will work on a distribution deal after they have something to sell. (dark horizons)

Oct 1: Nightman: Fans of the two-year series 'Nightman' can catch reruns of the series on WGN. I found the series on Saturday at 10am. Not sure if it will be airing regularly at the time or not.

Oct 1: Watchmen Feature: David Hayter, who scripted the X-Men, has been hired to script the comic book from Alan Moore,  'Watchmen' for a feature film. (last comic site)

Oct 1: Sin Eater: Heath Ledger, the Patriot, has signed onto a project called 'Sin Earter'. A super natural romance thriller which features Ledger as a priest helping a female detective who is investigating a corpse that is covered with religious symbols. The film is looking at a 2002 start date. (cinescape)

Oct 1: Undercover: Scott Strout lets us know about the new series... 'Undercover'... Going in I wasn't expecting too much, but after viewing the show it has some potential. William Forsythe gives a great bad guy performance as the  leader of a  strong-arm group of robbers. Likewise John Seda carries his own as the cop sent undercover to infiltrate the gang. Early in the show there's one silly scene were Seda and his group are seen arresting a suspect in broad daylight dressed in police uniforms. I don't know about you, but if I'm an undercover cop making daylight arrest on a busy city street  isn't good for your cover. A small detail, but a stupid one. While the show does have it's fair share of action it's done badly. With it's quick camera cuts and Hollywood style all it did on my 5 ft big screen was nearly make me seasick. If you want me to take the story serious then keep the whole show consistant. The action is just too stylized to be taking seriouisly and it hurts instead of helping. Another thing that hurts the show is it's time slot up against ABCs The practice. Why NBC choose Sunday when an open Saturday night with less viewing options gives the show and it's new Law & Order counterpart a better chance to be a hit. The cliff hanger ending of the pilot will make me tune in next week, but I don't know if my stomach can take another action sequence.

Oct 1: Mutant X: The new Marvel Comics series 'Mutant X' begins airing this week in syndication. The series has a guarantee of 44 episodes. Even though the series will open with a two-parter, Mutant X will be self contained episodes. Each week is a separate adventure. This makes it easier for networks not to have to air them in any specific order. Much better for syndication should the series get sold later for repeat rights, providing it also lasts long enough to generate enough episodes too. Mutant X is set to have a lot of action in each episode, and is not to become a villain of the week series.
