Apr 30: Digital Wars: George Lucas was hoping for better when he decided to do 'Attack of The Clones' in digital format. Only 19 theaters will actually show the film in digital projection. The remodeling would cost about $200,000 per theater, and most theaters today are barely operating. I don't think good George is going to help these theaters convert. GET THIS: George Lucas has put theater owners on notice that NO movie house will be permitted to show Episode III unless it has installed digital projectors.

Apr 30: Animated Trek: Star Trek the Animated Series has joined the site in a VHS Cover Sheet available for download now in the VHS Cover Sheet Area. ST: the Animated series hasn't hit DVD yet, but it did hit laserdisc in an impressive boxed set. "Beam me up, Scotty"

Apr 30: Bruce Willis Gets Stan Lee: Marvel creator 'Stan Lee' has inked a deal with Bruce Willis & Arnold Rifkin's 'Cheyenne Enterprises' to develop superhero action/adventure movies. Already in development is 'The Double Man,' to be directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day); while 'The Femizons' has writers Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman confirmed on board. The third picture, 'Nightbird,' is currently being considered. The 79 year old Lee is excited telling Variety that there are dozens of high-concept plots and colorful new heroes and villains germinating in his mind. You go Stan! (zap2it)

Apr 30: HBO Kills Oz: Production is set to begin on the sixth and final season of the HBO series 'OZ'. Season six, of 8 episodes will air in early 2003. The final episode will finish telling the story.

Apr 30: Minority Report Trailers: Fox will possibly be attaching trailers for Solaris, Daredevil, and X-Men 2 to Minority Report.

Apr 30: Animated Stargate: Fox will begin airing the animated 'Stargate: Infinity' series on Saturday mornings beginning in the fall. Impact magazine reported that MGM has ordered 26 episodes. The animated series will take place 20 years after the events of the first original film and will not contradict the series from Showtime and the Sci-Fi Channel.

Apr 30: Underworld: Pearl Harbor co-star Kate Beckinsale has signed on to Lin Wiseman's 'Underworld' project. She will star as 'Selene' a Warrior Vampire who has hunted werewolves her entire life, but finds herself falling for the enemy. The old Vampire falls in love with the werewolf story. Filming begins in Europe in September. Hollywood and filmmakers are beating this Vampire thing to death. (cinescape)

Apr 30: Rambo Trilogy: The DVD trilogy is coming May 28th. No special editions or anything like that. Fans will get the wide screen and full screen formats on each disc. There will be a fourth disc included about ten featurettes.

Apr 30: MIB 2 News: Moviehole.net sent me the following today...

One of our spies was sent over to check out a new clip filming for Men in Black 2. " This weekend they were shooting the Will Smith pop video for Men In Black 2 - the track is called "Nod Your Head" - and once again like the previous song it was written by Will himself apparently. The shoot portrayed Will Smith at a concert with fans and exotic aliens present. Meagan Good (Eve's Bayou) was also on set along with newcomer Pepsie - who I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of... Various extras wore alien heads including something like a Cthulu mask. Dancers wore black and white MiB suits, accompanying Will Smith with the ubiquitous Raybans. At one point a girl runs up to Will Smith from the crowd, then her head splits open and an alien tentacle reaches out, swipes Will round the head - knocking his shades off, which his 3 year old son picks up and hands back to him! He then runs off to an alien spaceship... All sounds like a "blast" as they say over here!" Thanks to 'The Inside Man' (Thanks Clint)

Apr 30: Indiana Jones 4: Lucas has leaked a planned scene for the fourth installment of Indiana Jones 4 that will feature many of Indiana Jones' ex-girlfriends. While a small scene that has little to do with the main story, what ever that is, Harrison Ford says it might be the best scene in the movie. That could be a good thing, or very bad thing.

Apr 30: Sum of All Clancy: From the several interviews done with author Tom Clancy really disliked 'Harrison Ford' playing the part of Jack Ryan. Clancy says this one, with Affleck, is much better than the last two disasters. What does he say about Ben Affleck and 'The Sum of All Fears'? "I've seen it, it's not bad. I'd prefer them to follow my stories more closely."

Apr 30: Spiderman: Haven't been this excited for feature film in a long time. James Cameron couldn't get it done, but Sam Raimi has. The previews have looked incredible. The making of on HBO was impressive. All that's left is to see the webslinger on Friday in his big screen debut. Like many others, I grew up on spiderman. He is my favorite comic book hero of them all. To finally have the live action film... kinda gives ya goose bumps all over! Star Wars Episode II might do better overall this summer, from die hard fans who will watch anything star wars a hundred times. But for me, Spiderman is IT! No one does like the spider can.

Apr 29: More Perlman: Ron Perlman is a busy man here lately with 'Blade II', 'Star Trek: Nemesis', and scoring the 'Hellboy' lead. Now Perlman will costar with Kelly Brock, and Christopher Lambert (more of a 'B' actor now) in thriller 'Absolon'. The feature will be shooting in Canada very shortly.

Apr 29: Bond 20: Dark Horizons reports that Madonna will make a cameo in the Bond feature.

Apr 29: Scorpion #1: The Scorpion King remained number one at the box office this weekend taking in just over $17M for a total of... $60M for its first 10 days of release.

Apr 29: Men In Black II: Tonight at 7:30pm a new trailer for 'Men In Black II' will premiere on the website apple.com

Apr 29: Furious 2: Vin Diesel is officially out in the sequel 'Fast and the Furious 2'. What's the reason for no Diesel? Why money of course.

Apr 29: S.W.A.T.: The feature based on the shortlived TV series of the same name has been given the greenlight by Columbia despite loosing their number one choice to star, Paul Walker (Fast and the Furious). The film is slated for a July 2003 release.

Apr 29: Jason X: The tenth film opened up in the fourth spot taking in $6.5M over the weekend.

Apr 29: Fahrenheit 451: Looks like Frank Darabont is onboard to direct the long anticipated 'Fahrenheit 451' feature based on Ray Bradbury's novel of the same name. Mel Gibson screwed around with the project for years before backing out, but will still act as a producer for the film. Darabont is currently writing the script and hopes to have it done before the end of the year. He is also hoping to do the 'Martian Chronicles' once 'Fahrenheit 451' is completed.

Apr 29: Enterprise Videos: The UK will get 'Enterprise' on video come on June 24. You can pre-order your copies at 'Blackstar.co.uk'. No, the US will not see the videos for a while due to syndication rules and regulations in the United States. Hey folks, just keep recording.

Apr 28: Enterprise Gets Official: John Billingsley, who plays the alien doctor, told fans at the Vulkon Convention in Cleveland that they were given the official word on Friday of Enterprise's renewal for next season (thanks to Ginney)  The only surprise is UPN waiting so long to renew any of their series this season.

Apr 28: Witchblade Spoilers: The new season will be here soon. Here's the synopsis for the first three episodes.

'Emergence': June 16 @ 8pm & 10pm: In the season premiere, it's a case of deja vu when Sara Pezzini is once again chosen to wield the Witchblade. But when sinister Kenneth Irons vows to take the powerful weapon from her, can she master its power in time to defend her destiny?

'Destiny': June 16 @ 9pm & 11pm: Using the powers of the Witchblade, Sara saves the life of her partner, Danny Woo. But when Irons procures an ancient weapon, can she save herself as the battle for the Witchblade turns into a fight to the death.

'Agape': June 17 @ 9pm & Tuesday June 19th @ 11pm: As Sara and Danny investigate a series of bizarre drug-related murders, rookie detective Jake is pulled into a sting with a questionable cop. Now Sara must learn to use the Witchblade to solve the crime and save Jake before it's too late.

Apr 28: Animated Star Trek: I have found an incredible Star Trek: The Animated Series website that I wanted to pass on to everyone. Fans of the series should CLICK HERE for the Star Trek Animated Series.

Apr 28: Travolta Flying High: Actor John Travolta has his pilots license and once owned his own 707 aircraft which was refurbished at 'Tracor Aviation' sometime in the 80's (I use to work there). He is now in Australia hunting for a Jumbo Jet and is looking at a Qantas 747SP. Now, who in hell needs a personal jet that damn big? Only a movie star folks. (basis of report from news at Ain't-It-Cool.com)

Apr 28: Misc. News: M*A*S*H Reunion: They keep coming. Another reunion special, this time for the series MASH, will air on Fox May 17th. The reunion will feature all of the surviving cast members. It's odd the reunion will air on FOX rather than CBS where the series aired for 11 years. There will be interviews and film clips from real doctors and nurses who served in the Korean War. (ron wolfe)

Apr 28: CSI: Miami Dade: Unlike Miami Vice, city officials are welcoming the new series from CBS, hoping it will help revitalize the cities tourism industry. If the show takes off early in the ratings it is possible that CBS will give the series a five year commitment. Production on the new series is scheduled to begin in July. David Caruso, who will star in the Miami Dade, appears in the May 9th episode of CSI which takes some members to Miami. This episode and May 26th's will be the pilot for the CSI: Miami Dade.

Apr 27: Tracker DVD: The Lion's Gate website is taking email addresses for notice of when the series comes to DVD. Here is the note on the site: Lions Gate Entertainment is now accepting online preorders for the "Limited Edition" Tracker DVD 6-disc box set. Experience the full twenty-two (22) episodes of Tracker in your home with added interviews, deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes. CLICK HERE for the Lion's Gate area to do your preorder. (thanks to tapes101 for the news) No word yet if the set will be available in the US or not.

Apr 27: Dragnet Again: Not a movie sequel but a new series this time. Dick Wolf, behind Law & Order, will back the new project. Though no network has jumped in with both feet, several are interested in the series project. (variety)

Apr 27: More Marvel: Not only are we getting 'Iron Man', 'Daredevil', 'Spiderman', 'X-Men 2', 'Iron Fist',  and 'Sub-Mariner'.  Marvel is moving forward with their adaptation of the comic book character 'Sub-Mariner'. Screenwriter David Self has been hired to write the script for Universal, who is also producing the Hulk feature. Actors 'Mark Dacascos' (Brotherhood of the Wolf, The Crow series) or 'Oded Fehr' (the Mummy 1 & 2) would be perfect for the role of Prince Namor.

Apr 27: True Lies 2: Well... everyone around James Cameron says the film isn't going to get made. Yet, James Cameron hasn't come out himself and said the film isn't going to happen. Funny with a guy like Cameron people are talking for the 'King of the World'.

Apr 27: Timeline: The time traveling Professor in the upcoming 'Timeline' feature will be played by British comedian 'Billy Connelly'. A spokesman for the studio says that Connolly will star in the film, currently shooting in Montreal, Canada, as Professor Edward Johnston who goes missing during an archaeological dig at a medieval site in France.

Apr 26: Miami Vice VCD: A Miami Vice back VCD cover has been added to the front cover already up on site. Still have the CDR Label to do, but... Enjoy. VideoCD Area

Apr 26: Night Visions: The Sci-Fi Channel has picked up another fox series that flopped rather quickly. They have picked up the series 'Night Visions' to air all 13 episodes which aired last summer. Night Visions will become part of the SFC's 'Friday Night Prime' line-up beginning June 14. This means the SFC gets the 10 previously aired episodes along with the 3 that Fox never aired on their network. These 3 episodes will be aired back to back as a Sci-Fi Movie.

Apr 26: Dawson's Creek on VCD: Dawson's Creek has already been in the VHS Area, but now comes The Creek in VCD Covers Front, Back & CDR too. CLICK HERE for the VCD AREA

Apr 26: Hawaii Five-O: Dreamworks is still in negotiations on Hawaii Five-O, but they are now the exclusive negotiators. The script is already complete, and written by 'the Natural' scribe Roger Towne. And yes, the famous 'Book'em Danno' is in the script. The film would actually be filmed IN Hawaii and not some location that looks like the island settings. Budget for the feature looks to be between $70M & $100M. It is hoped that the first film would launch a franchise like James Bond. The big question of course is... 'Who will play Jack Lords lead role of Steve McGarrett? Producer George Litto has his list, which includes 'Mel Gibson' (no surprise), Harrison Ford, and Michael Douglas (Oh No!). Why not Jack Nicholson. (starbulletin.com)

Apr 26: Episode II: Fans will actually begin to see the making of 'Darth Vader', as we'll see Anakin Skywalker lose at least an arm in the second film.

Apr 26: B5LR.com Redesign: The fan site dedicated to the defunct series possibility based on the Sci-Fi Channel telefilm, 'Legend of the Rangers' is getting a Redesign and it will launch May 5th, 2002. It should be dedicated to JMS productions which include 'Babylon 5', 'Crusade', and 'Jeremiah'.

Apr 25: Jumanji 2: For some reason Columbia Pictures is still working to create a sequel to its not so popular film, Jumanji. It originally starred 'Robin Williams' who as a child got lost in the game. A sequel has been in the works for at least three years now.

Apr 25: Hulk Preview: The Coming Attractions website is passing along the word that a preview/trailer for the upcoming Eric Bana flick 'the Incredible Hulk' will be shipped with every print of 'Spiderman', which opens May 3rd.

Apr 24: Season Enders: Angel's son is going to turn on daddy, and Cordelia will get a message that she must leave this world. (Does that mean she is leaving the show?) On Dark Angel, Max finally exposes herself to the world in a 1.5 hour episode directed by James Cameron at $10M. The Charmed girls get to decide whether they want to live normal lives, and be demon free. (since the show has been renewed for another season, I think fans already know the ultimate outcome of their decision). The Enterprise will be called home.

Apr 24: Epguides.com Gone?: The best 'Episode Guide' on the internet has been down for almost two weeks now. Has anyone heard what's up? Hopefully the site is not... gone forever.

Apr 24: Indiana Jones 4: Writer Tom Stoppard (Shakespeare In Love) is being sought to write the fourth installment of Indiana Jones. Stoppard is the top selection of 'Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford' to do it. The trio is eyeing a 2004 production start date. There is reportedly a budget already worked out with Paramount for the film.

CLICK HERE for the petition site to add your name or find out more about it.

Apr 24: Pitch Black 2: Vin Diesel's 'Pitch Black: The Chronicles of Riddock' will begin production later this year. the Diesel will only get a mere $12.5M for his return. Excellent payday.

Apr 24: Blade 3: The new feature is a GO by New Line Cinema. They have already hired scribe 'David Goyer' to pen the third and final installment to the franchise.

Apr 24: Batman: Beginning Monday the original 'Batman' series joins the TV Land line-up. Check listings for TV Land for the exact times.

The crossover starts April 27th at 10pm on the District, and will concludes on May 2nd at 10pm on The Agency - which follows an episode of CSI! (zap2it.com)

Apr 24: Stallone, Action Star: How long has it been since Sly Stallone has had a mega-hit? Long time... The actor, recently rumored to star opposite Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3, as the villain, has been named Action Star of the Millenium by the Video Software Dealers Association Convention. Stallone is expected to attend the convention ceremony in Las Vegas in mid-July. The actor can be starring next in the film "Avenging Angelo," opposite Madeleine Stowe.  I thought the actors last quality film was 'Demolition Man'. Yes, I enjoyed Judge Dredd too.

Apr 24: 'B' Actors Die Hard: Moviehole.net has some interesting news that 'B' stars Erik Eleniak (baywatch & under seige), Eric Roberts (20 years as a B star) and Dean Cain (lois & clark)  are working together on a Die Hard style 'B' film that takes place in a mall titled, 'Christmas Rush'.

Apr 24: Ghostrider: Apparently Marvel wasn't happy with Dimension Films efforts getting 'Ghostrider' to feature film, and took the rights back. They are still hoping to get 'Nicolas Cage' involved in the film again once Marvel Studios gets it set up again.

Apr 23: Mad Max 4: Mel Gibson has admitted to the Herald Sun that he is interested in the Mad Max 4 project. The 40+ year old actor says he was under a gag order from George Miller. He wants to be involved but there is a long way to go before the project even gets the green light, if it even will. (moviehole.net)

Apr 23: Stallone Impossible: Rumor has it that 'Sylvester Stallone might play the villain in the third installment and this is likely the final Mission Impossible in the franchise. (moviehole.net)  If Cruise wants to move on, another actor could step into the lead and the franchise could actually become what it was - a TEAM of agents solving cases. Zap2It.com is reporting too, that David Fincher is now committed to the film in the directors chair.

Apr 23: King Conan: The Rock has confirmed to Empire Online that the will NOT be involved in 'King Conan'.

Apr 23the Punisher: Gale Ann Hurd will produce 'the Punisher' on a script written and director by Jonathan Hensleigh (his first directing gig). Artisan says the film will be based on a strong character and not heavy on the SFX. For us that means a likely lower budgeted film. Punisher hit the screen in 1990 starring Dolph Lundgren. The film is underrated. It is not a bad film. (comingsoon.com)

Apr 23: Sequel, Sequel, and Sequels: Hollywood pretty much has a fear of something new. Today it is sequels or TV series turning feature films. What sequels are in the making. Thomas Crown Affair 2, Mission Impossible 3, SEVEN 2, Oceans 12, Meet the Fockers (sequel to 'Meet the Parents'), Men In Black 2, Bad Boys 2, Rush Hour 3, Blade II (already out), Shrek 2, Star Wars 5 & 6 (actually 2 & 3), Pitch Black 2, Fast and the Furious 2, Spiderman 2, James Bond 21, Indiana Jones 4, Jason X, Freddy vs Jason (makes like 18 total films), Time Cop 2, Mad Max 4, King Conan (third film), Dude: Where's My Car 2, the Mummy 3, American Pie 2 and likely a few more.

Apr 22: No DS9 Movie: Why wouldn't Paramount take the crew and situations of Star Trek: Deepspace Nine to the big screen? Ira Steven Behr, once the head writer for the series, told 'Trekweb.com' why... In discussing the show, which ended in 1999, Behr said he’d be up for working on a DS9 movie “In a heartbeat, but the chances of them doing a DEEP SPACE NINE movie are slim and none… I think it came to make everyone [at the studio] just a little uncomfortable. It was a show that went off the boundaries of what was going to be allowed and not allowed in terms of the STAR TREK franchise. I believe that the future lies in these books that I hear they are doing to continue it. I just think it's much easier to have the Enterprise back. To have a ship back. It's a lot safer. DEEP SPACE NINE was a bold experiment. It did not have the ratings.”     Deepspace Nine really did take Star Trek in a unique direction, rather than the stale direction the series continues in even today. Deepspace Nine is headed to DVD in boxed set format beginning next year (2003)

Apr 22: Andromeda DVD: Fans of the syndicated TV Series have something new to celebrate. The Digital Bits has news that 'Andromeda' starring Kevin Sorbo looks to be headed to DVD. No word if it will be a seasonal boxed set, or the stupid Farscape style of separate discs with four to five episodes per disc.

Apr 22: Matt Helm: Australian director, Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde) has signed on to direct the first of several movies based on the series of Matt Helm action novels. The first movie, which will be written by Blake Masters, will be an amalgamation of several of the novels in the series centering on the life and spy missions of Helm, a former Army lieutenant. Apr 22: 16 Blocks: Richard Donner will direct 16 blocks for Winchester Films, about a This wreckage of a New York City cop has to take a witness 16 blocks from the Sixth Precinct to 100 Centre Street, and no one wants him to get there, It is a redemptive tale for two characters who are polar opposites, the cop a dark guy and a heart attack waiting to happen who is escorting this witness who's a 14-time loser with a sunny outlook." Winchester Films has bad a high six-figures just for Richard Wenk to write the script. (moviehole.net)

Apr 22: Scorpion King: I don't know whether or not Dwayne Johnson, the Rock', will be a huge hit, but it surely opened like one, taking the number one spot with $36.2M over the weekend.

Apr 22: Blade II: I don't know what happened with this film, but it has fallen from the top ten films already, as 'Clockstoppers' started slow, but has remained in the top ten at number nine this week.

Apr 21: Paramount Wins War: After a 1.5 year battle in court, Paramount Pictures has won the battle of the rights to H.G. Well's 'War of the Worlds' against Well's grandchildren. They were attempting to create War of the Worlds mini-series with Hallmark. A judge ruled that the 1951 contract with Wells dead son Frank was still valid and gives Paramount all feature and television rights to the product. The distinction between a motion picture and a television mini-series is 'untenable' the judge says. (zap2it.com)

Apr 21: the Mummy 3: When the third Mummy installment happens it will not include the Rock or the Scorpion King. Producer Kevin Misher tells Zap2it that there might be one more 'Mummy' film. Now comes word that Brendan Frasier, once said to be interested in a possible third film, now believes his days in the franchise are over. Director Stephen Sommers has even started writing the third film. The way Hollywood is today, if your planning a franchise of three films, then do them all at once or forget it. Apr 20: Jurassic Park 4: E online has some information on JP4. The fourth installment is apparently a go, and will ignore the last film. This would mean that Tea' Leoni and William H. Macy, who have options for the 4th, will not return. Joe Johnston will not return to direct and Universal is considering a slew of brand name directors. Steven Spielberg plans to take the franchise to an all new level.

Apr 19: Fraser is Super: Moviehole.net got hold of a rumor that McG 'Charlie's Angels' is hot to get the Mummy's Brendan Fraser into a pair of tights. That's the tights with the big red 'S' on the front, as in Superman 5.    Don't you think the man would make a better 'Green Lantern' or 'Flash'?

Apr 18: Timecop 2: While there is a lot of talk about the sequel at work, Comics2Film.com has learned that the film is slated for a Direct To Video release - rather than hitting the theaters. The website has also learned that Dark Horse Entertainment is apparently out of the loop on the sequels production.

Apr 18: Witchblade: Comics Continuum has learned that fans of the series 'Witchblade' will get treated to a two-hour season premiere on TNT come June 10th to open season number 2.

Apr 18: Jeremiah: Michael Rooker (Days of Thunder, the 6th Day) will star in the Showtime series 'Jeremiah' in the episode 'Firewall'. An episode which airs 15 minutes earlier than usual. Firewall will air April 19th @ 10:30 pm, with an encore presentation April 21st at 10:45 pm.

Apr 18: Misc News: Forget Van Halen!: Former front men for Van Halen, David Lee Roth & Sammy Hagar, will be hitting the road together for a 21-city national tour beginning May 29. These guys can see every Van Halen song without the Van Halen. This is something worth buying a ticket.

Apr 17: Mission Impossible 3: David Fincher is in negotiations with Tom Cruise to direct the third Mission Impossible installment. Finchers latest flick, Panic Room, has been a surprise hit since its release. Brian DePalma directed the first film which grossed $454M and Woos second film hit $546M ($1B total) (moviehole.net)

Apr 17: Indiana Jones 4: Here we go again. Harrison Ford and George Lucas are once again promising the fourth film. This is what they told 'Leonard Maltin' of Entertainment Tonight. Lucas says the film might be done as soon as he finishes up Episode 2. He says he could begin working on Indiana Jones 4 by next week. Harrison Ford is nearly 60 years old. Lucas better get off his butt pretty soon or else we could see 'Indiana Jones and the Geriatric Gem'

Apr 17: Timecop 2: Production begins next month on the sequel set 15 after the first film. Moviehole.com reports that (vampires) Thomas Ian Griffith and (bubble boy) Steve Van Wormer have joined the cast. Steve Boyum will direct from a script by Gary Scott Thompson, who is also co-producing. This one had the most stupid method for traveling back in time. What the happen to the vehicle?

Apr 17: X-Men 2: Who's in with the X-Men sequel. Rumor has it that 'Nightwing', 'the Sentinels', 'Archangel' and 'Iceman' will appear in the new film. Apparently Iceman's small part has been enlarged. (movieheadlines.net)

Apr 17: Dark Angel: James Cameron is directing episode 21 of Dark Angel... and the episodes is WAY behind schedule and has increased from one hour to 1.5 hours. The episode is set to air May 16th - the same day Spiderman opens in the theaters. (Cameron turned down Spiderman) With Cameron involved, how much will this expanded episode cost? Well, the per episode cost is $2.4M. This episode is over the $10M mark. The mood reported on the set is that everyone involved believes the series will be around next season, simply because so much money has been spent on series. The only way FOX can ever hope to recover some of it is to make it to syndication. It is possible the series could turn up in the X-Files Sunday night time slot next season. (Aint It Cool)

Apr 17: James Cameron: Is the guy afraid to step behind the camera for big screen feature or what? Since Titanic everyone has been waiting for his next big project. What does he do? A $10M 1.5 hour episode of a TV series, Dark Angel and is doing a stupid documentary about the Bismark. He passed on Spiderman. Turned his back on Terminator 3, shown a passing interest in an Alien 5 film, and has ran circles around getting a script ready for True Lies 2, that will probably never get made now. Come on James, he the feature film stuff runnin'.

Apr 17: Paramount Tour: Paramount Studios had the best studio tour in L.A. by far. Over the years I have toured Universal Studios (had a yearly pass), visited Burbank studios (three times) and walked Paramount studios (three times) Since Sept. 11th the tour has closed, but their site still offers $5 discount coupons to it. It is so sad that Paramount let this happen. During my tours there I have been on the hydraulic sets of 'Hunt For Red October' and the Addams Family. Been through the prop room, and on the Star Trek sound stages. Most incredible was watching Kenny Gee practice for the Arsenio Hall show not five feet away from me. We saw Meg Ryan walking across the parking lot as my group talked with Ted Danson & Woody Harrelson. We met Eddie Murphy filming Harlem Nights on the lot. We passed Henry Winkler (the Fonz producing MacGyver) as we walked. It was wonderful. We walked the same streets where Laverne and Shirley did their the shlamozle on their opening sequence. It was such a fun tour. Paramount took us right on the sets, right by the filming crews and stars. Man, it will be missed. It is likely Burbank no longer has its fun tour either. Universal... it's a park and it ain't closin'.

Apr 17: C.S.I. on TNN: Come September 9th Crime Scene Investigation will hit syndication on TNN on Monday's at 11:08pm. TNN is also part of the UPN, CBS deal with MGM for the exclusive rights to 15 James Bond Feature Films which includes 'Goldfinger' and 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. My favorite... 'Man With the Golden Gun'.

Apr 17: Pop Up Happy: With ad revenue down some sites are getting carried away with pop up ads. Yes, there is one from this site (two if you count opening the fonts area), however some popular sites like 'Hollywood.com' have gotten carried away. Two pop-up ads showed up with the main page. When I clicked on a link THREE more ad windows came open. Question is, at what point do you push fans away from your site? I personally hate having them on my site, but I too would enjoy making a few bucks off the site. Some cover sites are so bad they open five or more ad windows every time you click on something. One pop up ad is MORE than enough.

Apr 17: Eddie, Is That You Again?: Lawsuits over stolen property and/or ideas happens everyday in Hollywood. This is the second time for Mr. Murphy. Everyone has got to remember the stink over Eddie Murphy and the idea for 'Coming to America'. Now a Janitor is suing Eddie Murphy and Imagine Ent. (which includes Ron Howard and Brian Grazer) for stealing the idea behind the PJ's., based on an amateurs tape once sent to Oprah for a possible feature in a segment. (It never happened). The suit claims one of The PJs characters, Sanchez, is an exact copy of Collier; both men use an electronic voice box to speak and a cane to walk. It also cites other similar characters in both the amateur video and the animated series.. He is suing for $75K in actual damages and $10M in punitive damages. (variety)

Apr 16: RIP Robert Urich: One of my favorite TV actors has passed away today at the age of 55, from cancer. Robert Urich costarred in the series S.W.A.T. and made himself known in the 70's for his portrayal of private eye Dan Tanna in the series 'Vegas' driving a red 57 T'bird. In the 80's Urich starred in 'Spenser For Hire'. He was turned in an incredible performance in 'Lonesome Dove' and in the 90's did the short lived series 'the Lazarus Man' plus played the good Captain in UPN's 'Love Boat: the Next Wave' which lasted two seasons. His two most famous lighthearted features were 'the Ice Pirates' and 'TURK 182'. For me, Robert Urich will be missed.

Apr 16: Twilight Zone: UPN's new take on the 'Twilight Zone' series has picked up Forest Whitaker as the host of the new series introducing the episodes. Pen Densham, writer and producer (outer limits) will rely on fresh material rather than rehashing old episodes into new. (hollywood reporter)

Apr 16: Galactica: Star Trek and Roswell alum 'Ronald D. Moore' has been hired by the Sci-Fi Channel to do his work on their 'Battlestar Galactica' four-hour mini-series project. Moore confirms that the mini-series will also serve as a possible pilot for a new weekly series. Moore isn't doing a sequel, but instead is re-imagining the concept from the beginning. "I'm going to go back and retell the origin story, and that will form the basis of the miniseries. There will certainly be changes. I'm trying to just take a different approach to the material. I want to keep the underlying myth of the show, which is what makes people remember it, and update a lot of it. It's going to be more about the people aboard the Galactica and the ragtag, fugitive fleet than it will be about aliens of the week, planets of the week or anything like that." (zap2it)

Apr 16Lundgren Quits: At the age of 44, Dolph Lundgren (I come in Peace, the Punisher, Heman and the Masters of the Universe, Universal Soldier, A View to a Kill, Johnny Pnuemonic, Rocky 4.) has decided to hang up his 'B' movie guns. He is ready to spend the next 20 years of his life with wife and family.  Many may never have cared for Lundgren as an actor, but I enjoyed many of his films over the years. There is always a chance the muscle bound, chopsoky star will return.

Apr 16: Timeline: Marton Csokas (rain) has been cast as the villain in the Michael Crichton project 'Timeline'.

Apr 16: Rock Hits For Real: During the filming the Rock actually hit one stunt man and knocked down Michael Clarke Duncan. The stunt man got a great watch as an apology. Unfortunately when Duncan got tagged with the Rock's bionic elbow the first thing he asked was about his watch. Needless to say he didn't get one.

Apr 15: Alien vs Predator: Apparently FOX has an 'Aliens vs Predator' project in pre-production based on the video game. A former Predator 3 script writer was told to stop his work on a script due to the Aliens project. Expect all new faces in the version along with a first time screenwriter and first time director. Makes you wonder how serious 'Fox' is on the project. One name being thrown around to star is actor Kurt Russell (the soldier). The film will pit Aliens, Predators and Marines against each other just as the video game does. (moviehole.net)

Apr 15: Angel Returns: Tonight marks the return of Angel to the WB at 9pm. the WB has yet to determine the fate of this series.

The complaint is that the filmmaker used digital technology to remove ads on their billboards and placed ads for Sony marketing partners like USA Today and Cingular Wireless. Sony hasn't received copies of the complaint yet. (variety)  Call me whatever, but I don't see a problem with this. To advertise in a film, you have to pay for that. You don't pay, a new ad goes in place of it. You don't get free advertising anymore in a film just because your ad is on a billboard.

Apr 14: Coliseum Back On?: Apparently the Andrew Dice Clay syndicated series premise is on again at the Sci-Fi Channel, this time as one of their many telefilm ideas. Clay is a wrestler or boxer that finds himself back in time during the gladiator time frame.  For the once proposed series Pearson Entertainment was backing the project, but they have since been bought out by a German Company. It is unknown if Andrew Dice Clay is still involved, or the Outer Limits Sam Egan for producing duties.

It's owner had done an animated trailer for and animated 'Aliens vs Predator'. The following is from the website... I received a courier letter from 20th Century Fox's legal department this morning, and basically I'm being asked to shut down or else....We all new this was gonna happen, me more than most to be honest, but damn, worth a shot. However, in that letter I was told that 20th Century Fox are in pre-production of Alien VS Predator The Movie and my production would have basically damaged their release, plus, they had this major copyright thing going on...and used words like "infringement" and "unauthorized derivative works" and "infringes" etc etc blah blah woof woof!! Apr 8: Ghost Ship: From Moviehole.net - Producers of the $80 million Hollywood thriller, Ghost Ship, were so worried about a shark attack on their stars that they hired a shark catcher to build a net around the movie's floating set on the Gold Coast. Ghost Ship, starring Julianna Marguiles, Gabriel Byrne and Australian actor Alex Dimitriades, is being shot on an inland waterway near Surfers Paradise. Shark contractor, Craig Newton, who looks after the shark nets along Gold Coast beaches, was hired by the filmmakers to install the net around a remodeled barge that resembles the bow of a ship. "The purpose was to act as a barrier while the cast and crew were in the water to prevent sharks from getting in. They are very, very safety conscious," said Mr Newton. "A lot of filming was done at night and they didn't want to have any kind of risk so we eliminated the risk." Recent publicity about packs of sharks chasing baitfish along Gold Coast beaches heightened the concerns of the filmmakers. "There was so much media coverage in the last couple of weeks it just reassured them when they did do their filming at night that they had a good barrier right around them," Mr Newton said. The ropes and floats on the nets had to be painted black and submerged in sections just below the surface to keep them out of the view of cameras. The nets were removed last night after the final water scenes were filmed.

Apr 8: Anderson on DVD: A&E will not be releasing any further cult TV Series on VHS. The market is no longer there. Coming to DVD will be a shit-load of Gerry Anderson collections on DVD this summer. The complete 'Captain Scarlet & Mysterons' set is coming along with the complete puppet series 'Stingray'. In July we'll see the first set of 'UFO' on DVD.

Apr 8: Mutant X: Along with the previous mentioned cast changes, producers of the series are planning for more action next year and Mutant X will become much darker.

Apr 8: E.T. Flops: Who would have thought that 20 years later E.T. would be a box office flop? Not many. But today, fans are less likely to pay $7 to $10 just to view a 20 year old movie with a few new scenes and some digital work. E.T. has disappointed the execs at Universal who were expecting Star Wars re-release numbers (that's money). Spielberg thought it would too. Why pay to see what is 20 years old and heading to DVD. E.T. in no way holds the mystique that Star Wars does over fans. Dreamworks blames the kids today. Maybe they should blame themselves for trying to suck a buck from fans anyway they can.

Apr 8: Rollerball DVD: Looks like the Special Edition of the DVD released 'Rollerball' will be the edited down theatrical 90 minute PG-13 release, rather than the original 'R' version of the film. The price is a rediculous $26.98 price tag and hits retail chains on June 18th. It will include audio commentary and a Rob Zombie music video.

Apr 8: Classics on DVD: Warner Brothers Video has finally decided to hit the market with classic horror features on DVD. These include the 1958 masterpiece 'Horror of Frankenstein' and the 1957 Frankenstein adaptation 'The Curse of Frankenstein'.

Apr 7: the Shield: A new VHS Cover Sheet for the new hit FX Series 'The Shield' has been added to the site for download.

Apr 6: Prey on Sci-Fi?: With the Sci-Fi Channel's aggressive telefilm and mini-series plan comes, questions concerning the SFC's effort to do something for the fans with the defunct series... PREY? Now that the network is planning 24 genre telefilms and as many as four mini-series per year, there should be little excuse not to make a move in that direction. At one time Bonnie Hammer said the SFC would love to do a telefilm for the fans. Well? Now they can. There are many genre series  cancelled with no series wrap-up or ending. Series such as 'Buck Rogers', 'Logan's Run', 'Space Above and Beyond', 'Now & Again', 'Dark Skies', 'Prey', 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Airwolf', 'MANTIS', 'Time Trax', 'No Where Man', 'the Sentinel' and the list goes on. Sure, it comes down to getting rights to the film. But how much interest or value is there in a series that lasted less than 100 episodes? The SFC has opened the flood gates, but just what will they do with all the debris washing that washes out?

Apr 6: Stargate: Atlantis: There is a rumor circulating now that MGM is planning to make the Stargate spin-off series into an animated series. This would be... bad news if true. The change, if true, could be the lack of interest by networks in the sequel series.

Apr 6: Another Strike: If an agreement for a new labor contract can't be reached between CBS' television and radio news operations and the Writers Guild of America by tonight's (Friday, April 5) midnight deadline, then the union's membership has voted to authorize a strike against the network. Among the union's biggest points of contention is a CBS proposal to rollback or terminate its existing contract in the event that the network combines or merges any part of its operations. The union also opposes the network's move to allow non-Guild writers to perform writing assignments and enact a series of reductions in benefits and fees. The last strike in 1987 last for six weeks. Apr 6: The Job: The ABC comedy cop series 'The Job' will get a chance to finish its 13-episode season. The four remaining episodes of the Job will air over three weeks beginning Wednesday (April 10) at 9:30 p.m. ET. ABC will air back-to-back episodes of the show the following Wednesday, April 17, starting at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the season finale at 9:30 April 24. The series season average rating is 7.1. There is no word if the series will return in the fall for a second season.

Apr 6: V the Final Battle: The second mini-series will make it to store shelves later this year according to 'the Digital Bits' website. The artwork is nothing more than a black background and the red V.  This will complete the two mini-series starring Marc Singer (the Beastmaster).

Apr 6: Artificial Crap: I just completed (barely) watching Steven Spielberg's 'Artificial Intelligence' for the second time. What a depressingly boring film. Great special effects. I loved the view of New York underwater. Very cool effect. I enjoyed the super toy teddy-bear in the film. There wasn't much else to feel good about in this film. It was so depressing. I had to watch 'Deep Rising' from Stephen Sommers just to get back into a positive mood. I doubt I will ever touch the DVD again, other than to dust the cover off. Watch this one at your own risk. Put all sharp objects in a safe place. Whew!

Apr 6: Lines to the Rear: I know you can believe it, but here it is anyways. Lines are already forming for Star Wars 2: Attack of the Clones. The line forms to the rear and Mann's Chinese Theater has theirs. How smart is that? I mean the film isn't going anywhere is it? It will be in theaters until everyone has seen the film umpteen times at least, and there's the DVD release that everyone can buy. So... why stand in line? Do you get something special by being first? Was being first in the theater worth weeks out of you life to stand in line? Worth the time to sleep in the streets? It's a fan thing. Waiting for something you care about. Something important to a fan. You folks go for it! It is something I understand.

Apr 5: MIB2: Superhero Hype has scored some great images from the upcoming sequel to 'Men In Black'. Click the Link to take a look.

Apr 5: King Conan: Entertainment Tonight had a interesting report, that now Vin Diesel (Fast & the Furious) is being considered for the role of Conan's son, Kon.  The Rock was figured to be a natural for the part. Arnold is slated to return to the role of Conan.

Apr 5: Genre Creator Dies: Roy Huggins, the creator 'Rockford Files', 'Maverick', and 'the Fugitive' has passed away Wednesday at the age of 87. Huggins is survived by his wife, Adele, five children and five grandchildren. Huggins began his career in television in 1955, just as the medium was coming into its own. After several years writing movie scripts for RKO and Columbia, he joined Warner Brothers' new TV division in 1955, overseeing the western "Cheyenne."

Apr 5: XXX Death: A stunt man doing a parachute stunt on the set of XXX has died in Prague. The stunt man was apparently hanging on a parasail when he struck a bridge. (cinescape online)

Apr 5: Cruise Dumps Cruz: According to the British newspaper 'the Daily Star', Tom Cruise got tired of arguing with Penelope Cruz over his friendship with ex-wife Nicole Kidman and has dumped the actress after just nine months. After being told that Tom would spend half of Christmas Day with Nicole and the kids, a livid Penelope to said she would leave him if he did. The 39 yr old Cruise stuck to his guns and the 27 year old Cruz took the first plane back to Los Angeles.

Apr 5: Willard: Dark Horizons has learned that Mulholland Drives Laura Elena Harring has joined Crispin Glover (Back to the Future, Charlie's Angels) in the Morgan & Wang remake of the 1971 feature 'Willard'.

Apr 5: Wonder Woman: After rejecting the script it appears that the actress is out as the lead in the forever being developed 'Wonder Woman' picture. The New York post has quoted Bullock as saying, "The idea of my doing Wonder Woman has also bit the dust." Bullock hasn't done a great choice of roles since 'the Net, Demolition Man and Speed.'

Apr 5: X-Men 2: SFX house 'Frantic Films' (Storm of the Century, and the upcoming 'the Core') in Canada has landed the visual effects for the sequel. (the Winnipeg Sun)

Apr 5: Underdog?: AICN (Aint It Cool News) has heard a rumor that sweet Polly Purebreds 'Underdog' may be getting the big screen treatment from 'Cats & Dogs' Lawrence Guterman. Very Interesting... but dumb. With all the comic and cartoon characters out there, UNDERDOG was the best they could come up with? Space Ghost, the Herculoids, the Superfriends, Green Lantern, Captain America & Hawk, Hong Kong Phooey, Blue Falcon and Dynomut, and Johnny Quest would all be better than this.

Apr 5: NEW AREA: World Web Cams: I have added a new area to the site with links to several thousand World Web-Cams with streaming video. Free live cams from Las Vegas to Antarctica. You can check out a volcano or view the surf from around the world. World Wide Cam Area.

Apr 5: Misc. News: Laverne & Shirley are getting a reunion at ABC for the May Sweeps (May 7th at 8pm). It will not be a telefilm as the cast we reminisce about the series in 'Entertainment Tonight Presents: Laverne & Shirley Again'. Sept 11th rescue workers got pissed off when they just decided to show up at a movie production to present Sandra Bullock a T'Shirt, and were asked to leave. Even the city was outraged by the incident. No appointment need right? Sandra Bullock and the studio have sense invited them back to another location.   Elizabeth Hurley has given birth to a baby boy. Jim Carrey has been voted Canada's favorite comic.

Apr 4: Panic Note: Clint Morris of Moviehole.net checked in with this report on Panic Room... Remember how Nicole Kidman was originally set to star in Panic Room? We'll The Herald Sun has some interesting news. The paper reports "Kidman has a voice-only cameo in Panic Room, last weekend's US top box-office thriller starring Jodie Foster. When Foster's character calls her ex-husband and his girlfriend answers, it's Kidman, according to New York magazine. It is an insider joke, and Kidman isn't mentioned in credits."

Apr 4: Roswell Official: UPN has finally made official what everyone else already knew. Third year series 'Roswell' has been officially terminated by the network. Cancellation comes upon news of the five year deal with the Sci-Fi Channel to air repeats of the three seasons.

Apr 4: Sci-Fi Costs: How much did the Sci-Fi Channel shell out for X-Files and Roswell? For exclusive rights to air the series in 'Prime Time' the SFC forked over nearly $66M for the 8 year deal. (TNT paid $45M for non- prime time airing). For Roswell the SFC dumped about $8M for exclusive rights to the 62 episodes of the series. (not that anyone else would want to air the series.) This new deal with SFC/TNT replaces the deal with the FX network.

Apr 4: SU2 Not So Bad: UPN wasted little time canceling 'Special Unit 2' when CBS took the reins. However the network has yet to find a series worth a shit to take its place following Enterprise. Ratings were not bad for the series, but the audience was 40% less than Enterprise. The latest trial was 'March To Madness'. The audience from Enterprise fell off 80%. Some decisions come on stupidity. First the cancellation of Special Unit 2, and then the cancellation of the SFC's 'Invisible Man'.

Apr 4: Dark Angel: Speculation on the series return continues as the latest episode garnered a 5.4 rating equaling the results from this weeks 'Enterprise'. With Dark Angels budget near $2M per episode will Fox accept ratings equal to a UPN series? Enterprise has yet to be renewed by UPN, but will be. It is one of the networks top series this season.

Apr 3: X-Files on Sci-Fi?: The SFC has signed an 8 year deal to share the entire nine seasons of the X-Files with TNT. The gives the SFC a library of 202 X-File episodes. Fans can look for the X-Files on the SFC exclusively in the fall, weekdays from 7pm to 11pm. (scifi wire)

Apr 3: Mutant X Changes: The series has dropped from number two to four in the syndicated ratings being passed by reruns of the X-Files, Stargate SG-1, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  There will be changes in season two of Mutant X. Tom McCamus (evil villain Eckhart) will take some time off next season. Michael Easton will take on the reins of new bad guy Gabriel Ashlocke in the season finale and keep the part for season two. McCamus will just be a recurring guest role.

Apr 3: Roswell Too: The SFC has also signed a five year deal to add the three seasons of Roswell to their limited series library. It too will debut in the fall.

Apr 3: Area 23 Casting: The new series is still in development and has dumped actress Virginia Hey. Taking over the role is  'Star Wars: Attack of the Clones' actress Nalini Krishan. Also being cast in the series is Eugene Robert Glazer as Alvin Cassidy (the wiper).  (will crawford - Mindshadow Entertainment)

Apr 3: S.W.A.T.: The 70's series feature adaptation is pursuing Mark Wahlberg and Samuel L. Jackson for lead roles. The original series ran for two seasons 1975 & 1976 and starred Robert Urich (Vegas, Spencer for Hire) (coming attractions)

Apr 3: The Carrier: Variety has released a report that Dean Devlin (Starship Troopers) will produce the Paramount flick 'the Carrier' about an Aircraft Carrier heist. Sounds like the movie 'Under Siege'.

Apr 3: Charlie's Angels 2: McG received word from Farrah Fawcett on how much she loved first film. This has inspired director McG, who is prepping Charlie's Angels 2 and Superman, to create cameos for the original Charlie's Angels cast members. That would be Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith. (cinescape online)

Apr 3: Marvel Comics Prices: With Marvel Comics raking in the cash cow from feature film enterprises, you would think it might, just might trickle down to reduced prices for comic books. WRONG! Marvel previously announced a price hike for 'Black Panther', 'Spider-Girl', and 'Captain Marvel'. They have rescinded that decision but look at these outrageous comic prices anyways? $2.25 to $2.50 per issue! What a friggin' rip-off! DC Comic prices are just as bad.

Apr 3: Wonder Woman: Man, will this project ever get made? Now Sandra Bullock has asked for a script rewrite. She apparently didn't like the character in the draft she read. Ms. Bullock has first rights to doing the character. Once the rewrite is approved it will be another two months before the next draft is ready.

Apr 3: Always Bet on Elvira: Scream Queen 'Elvira' has joined the IGT family of megabucks games in Las Vegas. The buxom black haired beauty will sit on top of the new games in a full 3D likeness. The new game topper looks impressive as hell. Elvira rules! And now, you can bet on it. She joins recent IGT additions Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, American Bandstand and Harley Davidson. Already part of the family is Addams Family, I Dream of Jeannie, and the Munsters.

Apr 3: Firestarter Series: While the Sci-Fi Channel will not spend the money to renew a hit series like 'Invisible Man' they are planning to create a series based on the telefilm flop they recently aired 'Firestarter: Rekindled'. They are also planning to possibly use many of their s
