Aug 31: The A Team: Will the cast ever be set and signed? Who the hell knows, but right now Jack Black (shallow hal) has been getting his name thrown into the mix as 'Howling Mad' Murdock. Yunno, the one that lives in the mental hospital and is broken out when the team needs him. Jim Carrey at one time was mention for the role of Murdock, but he isn't worth the $20M price tag for the role. Reports are that the script is again in a heavy rewrite.

Aug 31: Thing II: The Coming Attraction website reports that Universal may be considering a sequel to John Carpenter's 1982 remake of the Thing. Rumors are that John Carpenter has expressed interest in the film but is asking to much money to do it, so they may pass up on him.

Aug 31: Fog Remake: The Creature Corner has come up with some great news today. Apparently Debra Hill and John Carpenter are pitching a $30M to $40M project to remake the 'Fog'. What a great idea!

As reported by today's (Friday) Hollywood Reporter, CleanFlicks, in its court filing, maintained that its actions are "free speech and/or fair use and are protected by the first Amendment."   HEY! If it's illegal for the FANS to do fan cuts of the films, it's sure as hell illegal for a company to do it and rent the features out. Then again the networks have been doing it forever when they air a movie. (scott strout ,main story)

Aug 31: Spiderman 2: Edge FX is working on designs for three villains in the upcoming Spiderman sequel. Those would be Doctor Octopus, the Lizard, and Black Cat. (dark horizons.com)

The appliance, which will retail for around $40.00, will allow users to initially play games over high speed and dial-up Internet connections, but the electronics and media giant hopes to eventually make it possible for owners to watch movies over the web as well. It's a move that's long been promised (as far back as 1999), but only now one going into effect. There are currently 11 million PS2s at work in America, and it was the first gaming system to double as a DVD player. Nintendo and Xbox are expected to unleash similar online gaming schemes in the next few months. (per Cinescape Online)

Aug 30: Exorcist 4: Why Liam Neeson ever wanted to do this prequel is beyond me, but now comes word from Coming Soon that Neeson may be getting replaced by Stellan Skarsgard (good will hunting). Skarsgard is also being rumored for Spiderman 2 as Dr. Octopus.

Aug 30: Buffy Wins Again: One of the most stupid organization in the United States, 'The Parent Television Counsel', has voted Buffy the most immoral show on Television. That's amazing considering what we see on soap opera's everyday and the current run of cop shows we watch. Don't worry though, other fan favorites like Friends and Will & Grace were on their list. The Parents Television Counsel - just a bunch of assholes.

Aug 30: See Ya Betamax: Betamax has been in its death throes for years, and finally dies at the end of the year Sony indicated on Tuesday. Sony made JVC VHS system the standard after refusing to license its Betamax format technology to other manufacturers. What a marketing miscalculation by Sony. Serious videophiles however, continued to buy the format due to its superior picture quality over VHS. But now the units are old and finding the smaller, more expensive tapes, is nearly impossible.

Aug 30: Sexy Singles: Here's the top ten most desirable Hollywood females today, according to a US TV Poll. 1. Sandra Bullock 2. Renee Zellweger 3. Nicole Kidman 4. Gwyneth Paltrow, 5. Janet Jackson 6. Kirsten Dunst 7. Jennifer Love Hewitt 8. Beyonce Knowles 9. Lara Flynn and 10. Kristen Davis.  Wouldn't be my top ten but it's pretty good. I like the number one spot though. (scott strout)

However both actors feel that this will NOT be the final voyage for them. The new film has expectations to the one of the Trek films yet, if not the best.  (British Star Trek Magazine)

Aug 29: Crowe Trouble: Russell Crowe has been bested by a Woman in a bar during a recent bar fight involving Crowe. According to the London Sun, it seems that the New Zealand-born star was waiting for a drink when he grabbed a fellow actor at a party in Rosarita, Mexico, and threw him across the bar. The guy's female friend put Crowe in a headlock and held him until he calmed down, said witnesses. An onlooker commented, "No one knows why he got violent, but she certainly put him in his place."

Aug 28: Birds of Prey Changes: the WB may be putting the curse of death on it new series 'Birds of Prey'. They are tinkering with the pilot again. First the re-shoots to replace the lead female villain, and now major scenes have been re-shot to lighten the feel of the new series. The WB will make the series less Burton's Batman looking, and more like Schumaker's. The relationship between Helena and Barbara will be less adversarial and more 'mother/daughter'. This style of tinkering is what ruined 'Wolf Lake'. Fans who have the original 'Birds of Prey' pilot truly enjoy it.

Aug 27: Jeremiah Renewed: Showtime has given its original series 'Jeremiah' a 15 episode renewal for next season. The series from J. Michael Straczynski has also just signed Grant Rosenberg to Executive Produce the second season. Jeremiah stars Luke Perry and Malcomb-Jamal Warner as survivors of a deadly virus in a post-apocalyptic future where all the adults have died many years ago. Jeremiah is filmed in vancouver, Canada. Grant Rosenberg most recently wrapped working on Tracker. His genre list is long having worked on Poltergeist: the Legacy, Time Trax, Outer Limits, Lois and Clark, MacGyver, and Star Trek: the Next Generation. He's even done work on Baywatch.

Aug 27: 24 Fubar: UK viewers who bought the DVD box set of the highly successful series of 24 have been sold the wrong version of the series. A production mistake meant the UK fans who bought the six disc set got the US version of the show, which differs slightly from that shown on the BBC. The set, which includes all 24 episodes, include about 90 seconds of footage that was not aired on UK television... What's the big deal?  Fans who have already bought it can swap the two affected discs for new ones free of charge. Sounds like they got a deal.

Aug 27: MacGyver Gets Dusted Off: The 1980's series 'MacGyver' starring Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate SG-1) is now getting the feature film treatment. New Line hasn't stated whether or not Anderson will be involved in the feature film. This is a project which could be done in the spy style xXx, James Bond, the Saint and Mission Impossible or modern day Indiana Jones for the big screen. Anderson is not that kind of talent for the big screen and the role will likely go to a much younger man. MacGyver follows a no-guns-for- me-thanks secret agent who could get out of trouble with whatever he found handy, usually using the principles of high school chemistry and physics.

The finale beat all basic cable competition in its timeslot. The network has canceled series that attained 1.8, and 1.9 ratings.

Aug 27: Solaris: The remake of the three-hour Russian space station film starring George Clooney will hit theaters during the Holiday season. Produced by James Cameron (seems afraid to step behind the camera) and directed by Steven Soderbergh - this is a big budget risk for Fox. Reviews have been generally good, but Fox needs this one to make a few bucks.

Aug 27: Go West ABC: The ABC network has ordered a new one hour western series titled, 'Then Came Jones' The story will take place near the turn of the 20th century and also deal with the changes that era brought to life in the West. The project to restore METROPOLIS, including retooling the music back to the original 1927 score for the famously silent film, also had the restoration team adding in footage not seen for years, and not included in the most widely circulated cut of the film. (cinescape.com online)

As of this point though, it is just a rumor.

In development for boxed sets comes 'Battlestar Galactica', 'Quantum Leap', 'Earth: Final Conflict'  and yes fans... 'SLIDERS'. On the action side of DVD boxed sets we see 'Magnum PI', 'The Rockford Files', 'Dragnet' and 'Emergency'. (video business)

Aug 23: 1000 Corpses: Lion's Gate Entertainment is apparently looking into picking up 'House of 1000 Corpses'. This would make them the third owner of the film after being made by Universal and then MGM who just sat on the film.

Aug 23: MGM Attacks Bond Sites: It's starting again with the websites getting shut down. Now, MGM is going after James Bond Websites. THE FRACAS STARTED when a fan got a hold of the script for the forthcoming “Die Another Day” and posted parts of it in the users’ forum. Chatters on the other sites picked up some of the leaked material. MGM lawyers stepped in, and made all three sites close down. “We offered to delete all references to the script,” says a source. “But that wouldn’t satisfy MGM, which said that the sites were violating the Bond copyright and made us shut down.” One of the sites, www.commanderbond.net, is operating, though without any Bond photos; the other two, www.AJB007.co.uk — which a source says first carried the offending script info — and www.MI6.co.uk are still negotiating with MGM’s lawyers. MGM is notoriously protective of its Bond franchise. Earlier this year, the company threatened to forbid Mike Myers from calling his spy spoof “Goldmember,” claiming it infringed on the copyrighted Bond name Goldfinger. “I’m truly baffled by this. Why is MGM . . . so hostile towards Bond fans?” one fan wrote in an open letter to MGM posted on CommanderBond.net. “It’s not like these sites are profiting from Bond, they’re simply celebrating the series. . . . The web is how these fans communicate — so MGM responds by shutting them down?”  Why not just make the sites remove the script? “When you cross the line like that, we can’t just say stop, don’t do this. They’ve gone too far. They’re in our trademark. . . . We can’t let them think we condone this sort of behavior.” (scott strout)

Aug 23: Snitch: Robert Patrick is returning to television on FX in a new series called 'Snitch'. The show, produced by Columbia TriStar Domestic Television in association with Paramount Network Television, centers on a Los Angeles-based hustler (Patrick) who reluctantly turns FBI informant when he's caught by the feds in a sting operation.

Aug 23: Don't Do the Crime: Robert Blake's TV series Baretta is making its way to DVD in a season one DVD three disc set featuring all 13 episodes in broadcast order. The set will cost fans $39.99. Also hitting dvd that day on DVD is the Best of Baretta which will feature the rarely seen Baretta pilot and two bonus episodes that featured Sammy Davis Junior.

Aug 21: Farscape Latest: Ok, here is what is coming down right now. The 11 episodes that have aired so far this season are part of season 4, and when it comes back in Jan they will air the remaining 11 eps (no 3 month break having to wait for the last 4 eps.), then Sci-Fi will axe Farscape   They had 11 episodes to tie everything up, but word from the SFC came so late that there wasn't time to do any closing episodes.    This all comes from a guy that works at USA/Sci-fi so I am going to trust that it is at least close to being accurate.  (Josh Hadley) Fans will be left hanging as with most scifi series that get the axe.

Aug 21: Dragnet: Danny Huston has signed on to star in the new version of Dragnet on ABC this fall.  The series will also air on the USA Network. Production on the series begins in September and will actually be filmed in Los Angeles.

Aug 21: Tremors: The Sci-Fi Channel's original new series 'Tremors', based on the three films has picked up Michael Gross (Family Ties). Gross has played in all three films as Burt Gummer, a survivalist and now monster hunter. Tremors will debut in January, likely when Stargate SG-1 and Farscape Return with new episodes.

Aug 21: League Delayed: Due to severe flooding in Prague production of 'A League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' has been delayed at least for a week and possibly longer. (comics2film.com)

Aug 21: Willis In Tenkiller: Elmore Leonard’s upcoming novella “Tenkiller” has been bought by Cheyenne Enterprises for Bruce Willis to star. Cheyenne is Willis and Arnold Rifkin’s production company. Aug 20: Lady Death & Chaos Comics: Chaos! Comics closes their doors and files for Chapter 7 bankruptcy!  According to a report posted on Comic Book Resources, Chaos! Comics, known for their character of Lady Death, has shut down all of their operations following a filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy; officially closing their doors on Thursday. Filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy effectively is a straight bankruptcy and liquidation of all assets Chaos! holds, which in turn wiped their debts clean. The company's remaining assets will be turned over to their court-appointed trustee who in turn will sell them off and pay off debtors, most notably including freelancers who have done work for the company. Reportedly, no new books will be released and the future of the characters is yet to be determined. The Lady Death movie, which was previewed only two weeks ago at Comic-Con International in San Diego and was scheduled for a late 2003 release, might also be affected by this ruling. (scott strout)

Aug 20: Babylon 5: Lilely one of the best scifi series to hit television finally lands in the DVD boxed set format on November 15th, 2002. The best part is that season one will be under the hundred dollar mark. Ok, just barely at $99.96, but it's there. Hopefully stores like Sam's Club and Costco will have the sets for as little at $69.95.

Aug 20: FX does Affleck: FX has picked up the cable broadcast rights to two of Ben Affleck's movies in 'The Sum of all Fears' and 'Changing Lanes'. FX reportedly will pay $20M to $25M for the pair of films.  Also... as part of their deal with Fox and Revolution Studios, FX will get cable rights to Vin Diesel's 'xXx'.

Aug 20: xXx $$$: Speaking of Triple X, the feature in only its second week maintained the number one spot in a weak weekend for the box office. The action spy flick hit $23M in its second week for a two-week $67.5M take, loosing just 48% of its audience.

Aug 20: Next Generation Finishes Up: Paramount will finish up the Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD boxed sets this year according to DVD File. Season Six will hit stores on December 3 with the Season Seven boxed set hot on its tail December 31st. Each set has an SRP of $139.95. Sam's Club here in Las Vegas has been selling the boxed sets at $89.95 - a much better price per boxed set. (cinescape online)

Aug 20: Hong Kong Phooey: Scooby Doo was bad enough as a live action film, but now director Brett Ratner and his Rat Entertainment are developing a live action/CGI feature based on the cartoon character 'Hong Kong Phooey'. Jeez... (variety)

Aug 20: Gremlins 3: It's definitely sequel time in Hollywood. Very few original ideas escape the vast mindlocked world in which they have created. Nothing new gets in, and the same ol shit gets out. Warner Brothers for some reason is hot to make a third Gremlins installment, even if Joe Dante (director of the first two) isn't. Dante has been lead to believe that Warner has attempted several scripts for a potential project.  Gee, lets just watch 'Ghoulies 7' and we'll know what to look for in Gremlins 3.

Aug 20: Can't Touch This!: C.S.I. continues to do wonders even in repeats for CBS. The series continues to be the number one series earning 14.1 million viewers and a seven share. Oh, the rating was mere 9.1 - impressive for a repeat episode.

Aug 20: Hellraiser 7: The sixth film in the series, Hellraiser: Hellseeker, hasn't hit video stores yet, but the seventh film is already being prepped for production. Hellraiser: Deader will be directed by Rick Bota. Hellseeker gets released on VHS/DVD October 15th with Deader to follow sometime next year. Wow, Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, and Hellraiser... Hmmm. (fangoria)

Aug 19: Freddy/Jason Mistake: Why the hell would you work so long to bring a Jason vs Freddy feature film and then not have Jason/Kane Hodder return to the role he made famous - behind a hockey mask or not? Hodder told Fangoria that he will NOT be reprising the role of Jason in the upcoming film. Hodder did meet with director Ronny Yu, but said that filmmakers want a different body type for the film. New Line added that Hodder is still under consideration for the job.

Aug 19: Rush Hour 3: Brett Ratner has confirmed that shooting for the third installment will begin shooting in January 2004. That's 2004, not 2003 folks. (about.com)

Aug 19: Prime Friday: How well is the Sci-Fi Channel doing with its original programming now that they have screwed fans over the past two-years? Not that good. Stargate SG-1 is their top rated series with a mere 1.5 rating (Invisible Man ran a 1.7 to 1.8 rating), Farscape is second with a 1.2 rating (With I-Man the series was the number one rated series with a 2.1 almost weekly). Dead Zone is originally run on USA Network and the second airings on the SFC as part of their PRIME line-up is third in the ratings with a 1.0 rating. The rating are dismal compared to previous seasons.

Aug 19: Looney Tones: Timothy Dalton and Heather Locklear have joined Brendan Frasier in the Looney Tones: Back in Action CGI/Live Action feature.

Aug 19: Farscape/SG-1: Looks like after Friday nights PRIME broadcast on August 23rd 'Farscape' and 'Stargate SG-1' will be going on Hiatus until January, when the seasons will resume. Typical stupid Sci-Fi Channel programming. The interesting twist in all this comes from 'Aint-It-Cool' news site, which the Sci-Fi Channel refuses to recognize as a legitimate news source, reports that Farscape is doomed thanks to poor ratings. The sites state, and I quote, "I've been told from a (very) highly placed source that FARSCAPE has been picked up for one more 13 episode season, and then will be over.”  Have the fans spoken and the ratings dropped so low the SFC will can the series, or both series? More than likely AICN is full of themselves and it's just the normal hiatus that series are put through for being part of the Sci-Fi Channel. What does the SFC say about this... they aren't talking...

Aug 19: Imagine-Nation 2002: I attended the 2002 Imagine-Nation Expo here in Las Vegas. It was incredible seeing so many awesome props and resin kits. Rare custom designed kits from horror to science fiction.  I even got to me and talk with 'Ben Chapman' who played the creature in 'The Creature From the Black Lagoon'.  I got some great images which should be ready for the site sometime this week. I no longer have the digital camera so regular film methods were used.  I will open an area with images and links to some of the wonder resin kits available as well as some wonderfully original sculpting.

Aug 19: Superman 5: McG may be leaving the project, as its apparently nearly ready to go, and he is in no hurry to make the film being written by J.J. Abrahms. There are already four contenders for the directing gig, that include... Michael Mann, Rob Bowman, Steven Soderbergh, and David Fincher. J.J. Abrams doesn't want anyone else helming the picture, but he has little say in the matter. Apparently his script knocked the socks off everyone at Warner Bros. whose read it.  (moviehole.net)

Aug 19: 24 in 24: Fox seems desperate to drum up some interest in the new DVD boxed set of 24 starring Kiefer Sutherland. The FX network has announced it will run the entire first season in a 24 hour block from midnight on September 1st to midnight the following day. The DVD boxed set will hit stores on Sept. 17th. with season two of 24 beginning it run on October 29th.

Aug 19: MIB 2: The DVD for the summers somewhat hit 'Men In Black 2' will hit shelves October 26 for a mere $27.95 - about $8 more than it should.

Aug 19: ILM keeps busy: Industrial Light and Magic is the king of Special Effects in Hollywood big pictures today. The George Lucas owned company is busier than ever with projects such as 'the Hulk', 'Van Helsing', 'Pirates of the Caribbean', 'Harry Potter 3', Dreamcatcher', 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines', 'Peter Pan', and 'Timeline'. More projects are likely to get in line in the near future.

Aug 19: Transamerica Killer: The psycho-thriller 'B' feature 'Transamerica Killer' just wrapped production here in Las Vegas from the local production company and should be in stores by November. While the picture is low-budget one of the crew says the quality of the film will be outstanding.

Aug 19: One Man Show: Hollywood could really learn something from director 'Robert Rodriguez'. The man can shoot a big budget film on one-quarter the budget and get it done faster than most. In just one year the director wrote, directed, and produced 'Spy Kids II'. What else did the director do for the sequel? Well, he also scored the film, edited it, supervised the visual effects, shot it and served as the production designer. Hell, what other director is going to teach themselves CGI? What other director is going to turn his home into a soundstage and editing bay? Rodriguez did, and he's doing low budget - huge return films. 'CLICK HERE' to read a wonderful interview that Onion did with the director. It's a must read.

Aug 17: USA Turns Bionic: USA Network is developing a remake series based around the old 1970 series 'The Bionic Woman'. The network feels that the Bionic Woman has more value than the Six Million Dollar Man at this time. Hmmm, Jessica Alba is available along with Lucy Lawless. Wonder if we'll get to see the fembots again too. USA has had success with 'Dead Zone' and 'Monk', and are now looking for an action series.

Aug 17: Iron Fist: Ray Park tells all that the film is moving along slowly. While he is in training for the role believes that production will begin for the end of the year.

Aug 17: NYPD Blue 2069: I gather this new future cop series for Fox Broadcasting won't be 'Judge Dredd', but Steven Bochco is planning a new cop series set in 2069.  "It's an interesting notion to envision a major urban center like New York 65 years down the road," Bochco said. "This is not science fiction. This is trying to conceptualize a relatively near-term future that's logically a function of the world we know today. The project, set for fall 2003, revolves around a present-day cop who suddenly fast-forwards to 2069." Bochco said the show won't have a post-apocalyptic feel to it, unlike most features and series set in the future. "I don't want to do a desperately dark world," he said. "I think it's a different world, different in ways I haven't seen dramatized. But it's not as dark as 'Mad Max' or anything akin to 'Dark Angel."

Aug 17: Crusher Crushed: Director Stuart Baird has been forced to leave Wesley Crusher's comeback scene on the cutting room floor. Paramount has forced the director to remove 48 minutes from the three hour film. The 48 minutes would be incredible for the DVD release but we all know that Paramount is a shit-hole when it comes to the DVD extras for the Star Trek franchise.

Aug 17: Helldorado: Rosario Dawson (MEN IN BLACK II) has signed on to take the female lead in Universal's HELLDORADO. Dawson will join Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (THE SCORPION KING), Christopher Walken (PULP FICTION), and Sean William Scott (AMERICAN PIE). Peter Berg is directing. Johnson plays a bounty hunter longing for revenge against Scott. When he tracks him to the Amazon, Johnson finds that Scott's character isn't as bad a guy as they thought and they team up to bring down Bloomocks (Walken), a local kingpin. (Hollywood Reporter)

Aug 17: Scarecrow: Revolution Studios has tapped Todd Farmer to write a screenplay for SCARECROW, based on an idea by William Sherak, John Hegeman and Jason Shuman. The horror film focuses on a small-town farming family that discovers a Scarecrow that "ends up scaring more than just crows." (Scott Strout)

Aug 17: Body Blow! Body Blow!: Wesley Snipes took a beating in his new boxing movie - because he wanted to know exactly how it feels to fight a heavyweight. The blows the Blade star takes from Ving Rhames in new film 'Undisputed' are for real, and Snipes admits he went through days of mind-pounding pain to play a jailed boxer. He says, "When you get hit, you get hit and it hurts. You have to do that for two or three minutes at a time." Snipes even tried to follow a boxer's training regimes, working out for hours every day and giving up sex. He adds, "I tried my best to give it up. I gave it all I could give." The actor, who turned 40 on July 31, says despite his bumps and bruises, which took a while to heal, he feels like he's in the best shape of his life - and it's all down to a healthy appetite and his training regime. The fifth degree karate Black Belt, who practices hardcore Brazilian martial art capoeira, explains, "I feel like I'm in my 20s. It's all in your mind - how you eat, how you live, how you think. I'm a seafood guy - I see it and I eat it. I'm allergic to shellfish but I'll eat anything else." (scott strout)

Aug 13: Super vs the Bat on HOLD: Wolfgang Peterson has put the Superman vs Batman feature on hold so that he can direct a film for Warner Brothers titled... "Troy". The film will be about the epic account of the Trojan War. Warner will continue to develop the film as Peterson next project.  Nice, real nice.

Aug 13: HBO Gets Deadwood: HBO looks to be heading the way of USA Network and their successful western telefilms. Pay cable channel HBO has committed to a pilot for a new western series titled 'DEADWOOD'. The pilot will be set two weeks after the Battle of Little Bighorn and will mix historical figures such as Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane with fictional characters. David Milch (NYPD BLUE) will write and Walter Hill (48 HOURS) will direct. HBO is currently casting and the project will shoot in October in Los Angeles. (Scott Strout and Variety)

Aug 13: Witchblade: The series is entering the home stretch with just three episodes to go. Should the series be renewed executive producer Ralph Hemecker promises there will be no more rewinding time stating it would be a cop out. Hemecker expects to hear by early September on the fate of his series for a third season. If there is a season 3 fans can expect the theme to be dealing more with ancient mysteries and how they relate to the Witchblade.

Aug 13: Quality Effects on TV: Wired.com (Click the Link) has a wonderful article that talks about special effects we see in today's TV Shows. Here is a snip from it...  So what's down the pike for digital effects on TV? The use of computer graphics to create human faces indistinguishable from the real deal, the two animators agree. Probably in three to five years. "You could redo the old Star Trek series," mused Bonchune. "The original mission was only three years. You could do two more entirely in CG." (Section 31.com)  Just redo the special effects in the series and sell the seasonal boxed sets. Yeah!

Aug 13: Phony Fans!: The founder of the Rotten Tomatoes website has voiced his suspicion that a paid publicist connect with next weekend's surfer movie BLUE CRUSH has been posting messages on various movie-related Internet forums pretending to be an ordinary fan of the movie. Seny V. Duong claimed in a message to entertainment reports over the weekend that whoever was behind the bogus postings also collected the email addresses of all the users of the message boards and sent ads for the film to them. "The sad part," said Duong, "is that these side rely on advertising to stay afloat, and these studio guys are trying to get a free ride." Publicists connected with the film could not be reached over the weekend.

Aug 12: MASK II On The Move: The long-rumored sequel to the 1994 Jim Carrey film THE MASK is finally ready to go forward, except neither Carrey nor Cameron Diaz will appear in the film. New Line has tapped Larry Guterman (CATS & DOGS) will direct SON OF THE MASK, which the studio is not billing as a sequel, but a second installment in a franchise. This installment will follow cartoonist Tim Avery, a father that finds himself raising a baby that somehow has the powers of the mask of Loki. Lance Khazei (ROMANTIC COMEDY) wrote the screenplay. (Scott Strout and Hollywood Reporter)

Aug 12: X Marks the Spot: xXx opened in the number one spot taking in $46M over the weekend. Not outstanding numbers, but it was the third best opening in August ever.

Aug 12: Stargate Debate: Is Stargate SG-1 really successful or not on the Sci-Fi Channel? Viewing wise the series is horrible. Acting wise... the same. Ratings? That seems to be the big question. The ratings for July 17 thru the 21st episode of Stargate SG-1 (a new episode) only hit a 1.5 rating. The simple fact is Stargate isn't hitting the ratings as the Invisible Man did.

Aug 12: Farscape Trouble: The new season of Farscape is as intriguing and stimulating as last season with the twist and turns, quality acting and wonderful writing. What's the trouble then? Well, it's the Sci-Fi Channel. Fans are pissed off and staying away from the channel on Friday nights now. Farscape's ratings have dropped from constant 2's down to 1.2 in recent weeks. Fans just aren't watching the network anymore. That's to bad for a quality series like FARSCAPE. You can only screw the fans so much, before they don't come back. Sci-Fi Channel! Are you listening yet?

Aug 12: Darkwolf: Fongoria reports that Kane Hodder, who plays Jason Voorhees, will play a werewolf in the currently filming feature, 'DARKWOLF'.  (dark horizons.com)

Aug 12: Austin Powers: Austin Powers dropped over 50% of its audience again to fall from second place to fourth in three weeks, as it took in $13M.

Aug 12: New Masters Premiere: The New HeMan & the Masters of the Universe cartoon premieres August 16th along with a new line of toys and video games. The two-hour prequel will premiere the 16th followed by 26 half-hour episodes in September on the Cartoon Network's Toonami.

Aug 12: The Punisher: Comics2film.com reports that Avi Arad reported that 'The Punisher' is feverishly being worked on and it's much further along than many had dared hope. The film is going the BLADE route and will be rated R. It is slated for a 2004 release.

Aug 12:

Aug 10: Stargate SG-1 UPDATE:  'Dark Horizon.com's' rumor might have been way out of line concerning Stargate SG-1's feature film, with the series cast, being dead. SG-1 supervising producer Joseph Mallozi responded to the rumor at the Gateway Forums saying the rumors are malarkey concerning the Stargate feature being dead. The last confirmed info on the film is that SG-1 executive producer Brad Wright, who co-wrote the script with Robert C. Cooper, have gotten the first draft back from MGM with notes and the first rewrite is currently underway. Other reports state that the ratings for Stargate SG-1 have been outstanding for the Sci-Fi Channel and it's been the number one rated series for them. Mallozi went on to add that MGM and the Sci-Fi Channel are considering another season only because the ratings have been so good. CLICK HERE for the actual Gateway posting. (Thanks to Jack)

Aug 10: Drew Carey: He couldn't stand not being in the cover sheet area much longer. So, here The Drew Carey Show VHS Cover Sheet for download... Enjoy.

Michael Crichton's Westworld (TCM, 7pm), Silent Running (TCM, 9pm), Logan's Run (TCM, 11pm), Soylent Green (TCM, 1am), and Rollerball (TCM, 3am).  Best of all is TCM showing the films in their original letterbox format. (Scott Strout)

Aug 10: Ninja Turtles Update: ToonZone.com has talked with the webmaster for the official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles website about the CGI animated movie from John Woo at $60M film. Apparently the movie idea generated very little interest from the studios, so the project, while not dead, looks like it soon will be. As for the NEW animated series, look for a February to March air date. AND... The live action fourth film project? Well, several companies are in talks to produce this one.

Aug 10: Vin Diesel: Vin told a Canadian newspaper that he turned down more than $20 million to appear a sequel to 'Fast and the Furious. "I don't like to be bought," Diesel told the Toronto Sun. "I have real issues with stuff like that." Diesel said he was determined "to do the right kind of work" and decided to reject the $20-million deal that would also have given him "back end" participation that "would have gone through the roof." He added: "The reality is that I have enough money. I'm not really worried about the money. But my artistic integrity is important." Diesel is doing the sequel to xXx as well as a trilogy of features based on 'Pitch Black'.

Aug 10: Diesel Scares Producers: The Diesel terrified the producers of his new movie xXx because he insisted on trying all his own stunts - including leaping over barns on a motorbike and skydiving. The Fast and the Furious star admits he just couldn't say no when director Rob Cohen offered him the chance to risk life and limb - but they had to film his sequences in secret so as not to make producers worry about the insurance liability. Unfortunately, the stunts were too big to hide and left producers so worried that one refused to visit the set. Diesel giggles, "I think once you adopt the characteristics of the character you get lost in it and you start acting like the character. The studio were constantly holding me back from doing stunts and I would run off and sneak in a stunt and they would find me jumping with the motocross bike. The shoot day would be over and they'd notice these guys putting together these giant jumps for me. One of the executive producers, who was worried about the liabilities, had to leave the set because he couldn't handle the anxiety."

Aug 9: True Lies Blues: Arnold seems to believe True Lies 2 will be his next project with Tom Arnold and Jamie Lee Curtis ready to tag along - James Cameron is still distancing himself the project. Hell, Cameron hasn't really done anything since 'Titaniic' - the Dark Angel series finale doesn't count. The Director seems afraid to step behind the camera again. True Lies 2 doesn't look to happen anytime soon, unless someone else will direct with Cameron simply producing.

Aug 9: Farscape is Gamely: The Simon & Schulster interactive video game based on Farscape series hit stores early this week. The game is a character driven, team based, fully 3-D action game. Players get to play the characters, John Crichton,  Chiana, Rygel, and D'Argo and Zhaan. Only Aeryn Sun is missing since her character would be very close to John Crichton.  As a team leader you can control a squad of up to three teammates. Farscape the Game has a suggested retail price of $39.99

Aug 9: Heston Trouble: Legendary Actor 'Charlton Heston' has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The 77 year old actor has been diagnosed with a neurological disorder whose symptoms are consistent with Alzheimer's. A few of Heston's classic movies include Ben Hur, the Ten Commandments, Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green, and Omega Man. He will continue to act as long as he can.

Aug 9: Angel Trouble: The WB's Angel series has hired and fired their new producer, David Simpkins. He reportedly left the series over... creative differences. This dumps producing duties back onto Joss Whedon. Whedon is already working on Firefly and Buffy.

Aug 9: Signs Review: Movie Buff and fan Josh Hadley was impressed with the picture even though M. Night has done some pathetic work.... Here is his review of SIGNS...

Okay, I am NOT a fan M. Night Shyamalan AT ALL.  I have not seen his first 2 films but The Sixth Sense was dull and owes quite a bit to Richard Matheson's "A Stir Of Echoes", Unbreakable was simply awful on every level and Stuart Little was fucking pathetic so it is with some humility that I say that Signs was fucking amazing.  I was expecting something other than what I got and what I got was far more than I was expecting.  The story is told in such a personal and suspenseful way that it is impossible NOT to be enthralled by it.  It unfolds in such a way that you as the viewer are unable to take your eyes away.  The running theme that there is no such thing as coincidence plays out extremely well and to put it bluntly I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next throughout the entire movie.

The acting was top-notch throughout but the stand-out was easily Abigail Breslin as young Bo.  She was amazing and so disturbing cute that she stole every scene she was in.

The direction owes a lot to Hitchcock and Romero but with a completely different style.  There are so many moments that can only be described as creepy and deeply unnerving. The sounds coming form the baby monitor, all 3 times that an alien hand or arm came through an opening, the leg in the cornfield, the video of the birthday party, the reflection in the TV etc... all had be so uneasy that I actually felt my heart pounding faster and faster in my chest and my skin crawling.  I don't think I have ever see a film this unmoving and frightening in a LONG time.

I have not been this affected by a movie in some time and I highly recommend Signs to everyone.

Aug 9: VHS Gold Series Note: Some of you might be wondering the purpose of the new Gold Series line of VHS Cover Sheets for cop/private eye series rather than personalized sheets. Well, many new and older series have an image problem. Getting quality images is no easy task for many of them. So, the themed cover sheets have been born... I hope to have the same for comedy, drama, and action series in the near future. I have many requests for covers sheets, but without images they just can't get made. I hope you enjoy the Gold Series. I would like to add other classics to the site no matter what the genre.

Aug 9: Looney Tunes Return: Brendan Fraser (the Mummy) and Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg) will take the leads in 'Looney Tunes: Back in Action' feature slated for a November 2003 release. The movie will feature the Looney Tunes characters in a live-action world as they attempt to find the mythical Blue Diamond. (moviehole.net)

Aug 9: Riptide & Hart: Fan favorite series 'RIPTIDE' and 'Hart to Hart' have joined the Gold Series of VHS Cover Sheets on the site, available for download. Enjoy.

Aug 9: Bonding xXx: With the premiere of Vin Diesel's xXx looming, the previews of the film make one wonder if this isn't were James Bond should have become. xXx is the modern James Bond film. Something that James Bond should be doing now. Bond 20 likely isn't going to do as well as 'xXx'. Mission Impossible and xXx are better than most Bond films.

Aug 9: Future Law: Remember the futuristic E.R. series 'Mercy Point' on UPN a few years back? It didn't work. What about future law? Ed Zuckerman (Law & Order) is co-creating a law series set in 2053 which explores the American Law system that has evolved 50 years. CBS and ABC are said to be the most interested. Zuckerman will write the pilot. The series is from Universal Network Television.

Aug 9: Demi a Dark Angel: Actress Demi Moore returns from a five year hiatus to star in the new 'Charlie's Angels' sequel. She will play a fallen Angel who once worked for Charlie but is now on the dark side of the law. Demi Moore is now 40 years old. The most recent addition to the film was Robert Patrick.

Aug 9: Dead Zone: Jason Patrick Flannery (Young Indy and the Strip) will join the cast of USA Networks 'The Dead Zone' in the season finale 'Destiny' as a politician named Greg Stillson. Flannery's character will be a recurring role in season two (22 episodes).

Aug 9: Charmed 5 Spoilers: If you're a Charmed fan and want some spoilers on the first five episodes then visit the 'CHARMED ONES' website. Click the link to hit the spoiler page.

Aug 9: Digital in 2007: The FCC has voted that television manufacturers must include digital tuner on new sets by 2007. TV Manufacturers are outraged since most viewers receive signal from cable and satellite making the it a largely unnecessary expense to the consumer, which will be about an additional $250 per television.

Aug 9: Re-Animater 3: Franchise star Jeffrey Combs told Fangoria magazine that things are finally coming together for the third Re-Animator film to to be titled 'Beyond Re-Animator'. The film is in development at Fantastic Factory by director/producer Brian Yuzna. Jeffrey Combs is slowly working the deal to return.

Aug 9: Stargate a Bust on Sci-Fi: Stargate SG-1 has proven to be a total bust for the Sci-Fi Channel. So much so that MGM has apparently ditched any ideas for a Stargate 2 feature film to star the series cast. Ratings for the series the SFC have yet to earn a 2.0 rating or better.   The news season on the network sucks and fans are totally pissed off with what the Sci-Fi Channel has done over the last two years to fan favorite series. 'The Invisible Man' consistently broke a 2 rating and nearly did so in a lousy syndication time slot.

Aug 9: Coors, the Beer of Miramax: Coors beer has signed a deal with Miramax Films. They will be featured at Miramax red carpet events, be served at Miramax parties as well as showing up in maybe 15 films over the next three years. Coors already beat out Busch and Miller as the NFL's official sponsor for a mere $300M. They are also working on increasing their involvement in NASCAR. Sure, drink and drive, that makes since.

Aug 9: BTTF Animated DVD: Fans of the Back to the Future animated series can celebrated as ToonZone.net announces the DVD news. Universal is prepping the DVD release for 2003. (from the bttf.com website originally) There are 26 episodes in the animated series.

Aug 8: Vanishing Ads: Many of you will notice the advertisements on the site getting smaller as time passes. The pain in the ass pop ups have been removed from the main page as well as the scifi fonts area. The banners in the fonts area are completely gone now. I have made very little off all the ads on the site to date and what I am making isn't worth their banner hassles. Gorilla Nation, my advertising firm, promised to add me to the front page of their site after I made several changes to this site ( which did turn out better than the old more... colorful format that was being used.) But after four months, I am still NOT on their main page.

Aug 8: Ronin Series: FX is hot coming off it's unique series The Shield this season and has ordered a series script based on the 1998 Robert DeNiro film 'Ronin'. Witchblade's J.D. Zeik will get the producing nod with Paul Kelmenson. Say's Kelmenson... "It's a fast paced, very smart ensemble spy mystery." (variety)

Aug 8: No Enterprise on 911: Fans of the new series Enterprise won't get an episode on September 11th, a week before season two opens on the 18th. UPN has decided that minds will be directed elsewhere that night rather than normal television. According to the Psi Phi website UPN will air the episodes 'Two Days and Two Night's' along with 'Shockwave Pt 1' back to back on Sept. 4th. (Scott Strout)

Aug 8: Popcorn Rules!: As most fans know, theaters get almost nothing from ticket sales and are forced to gouge moviegoers for Popcorn, Sodas, and Candy. Screen International reports that the sales of such goodies reaped about $4.5 Billion in world wide revenues - providing more revenue than ticket sales. These profits to theaters can account for 50% to 100% of their profits. Not me, I eats before I go or the wife brings in the goodies from outside. It's just to damn expensive to get it at the theaters. But... nothing beats fresh theater buttered popcorn... mmm mmm...

Aug 8: Cage Selling Comics: Actor Nicolas Cage has decided to sell his beloved comic book collection for some reason. This includes the first comic appearance of Superman, Batman, Captain America and Green Lantern. There will be about 400 comic books in all. He will attempt to sell/auction the entire collection at the upcoming Dallas Comicon on Aug 11th thru 13th. (Scott Strout)

Aug 8: Video Hack Attack: Sick of Copy Protection? Aren't we all... A 28-yr old software developer has acknowledged that he was concerned that authorities might have been prepared to take action against him when he demonstrated a device at a Hackers Conference that nullifies VHS and DVD copy-protection codes. Adam Bresson told Reuters Tuesday that he worried that he could end up behind bars -- as a Russian man did after the same conference, DefCon, last year for providing a code to defeat copy-protection technology. The device that Bresson demonstrated, the ADVC-100, which sells for about $295.oo, is made by a U.K. based company

Aug 8: To Big For TV: Have you noticed the trend of popular actors and actresses that believe they can make the successful transfer from small screen to big screen?  Any real success stories? Not for X-Files 'David Duchovny', and it hasn't worked for any of the FRIENDS stars either. Buffy's Sarah Michelle Gellar thinks she is on here way with the success of the horrible 'Scooby Doo' feature.

Aug 8: Gold Covers: Three new VHS Cover Sheets have joined the Cover Sheet Area... Walker, Texas Ranger, the classic cop series Adam 12, and fan favorite 21 Jumpstreet.

Aug 8: New Covers: Tim Freeman has checked in with four new VHS Cover Sheets, for The Shield, Six Feet Under, the Wire and Monk. Enjoy the 130 plus VHS Cover Sheets on Site.

Aug 8: Monk-ing to Number One: USA Network has really hit the mark this season with the Dead Zone and Monk. Monk was number one this week in the cable ratings with a 4.9 rating for Aug 19th. USA has already renewed for 22 episodes and Monk will likely get the nod as well.

Aug 8: Leatherface: 7th Heaven star Jessica Biel leaves the hour-long drama but is landing a role in the upcoming Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor) horror remake of 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. Filming is currently taking place in Austin, Texas. Chainsaw is slated for an October 31, 2003 release.

And yes, Robert Englund will be returning as Freddy Kruegger. It is still unknown if Kane Hodder will don the mask of Jason once more.

Aug 5: Pretender Tid-bit: Since canceling the decently rated series 'The Pretender', starring Michael T. Weiss, NBC has yet to create a series that has generated the same ratings. They must be kicking themselves in the ass and around the moon. NBC cancelled 'the Others', 'The Pretender' and 'Profiler' on Saturday nights to make room for the XFL. Image the shit on their faces now...  (scott strout)

Aug 5: ABC So Desperate: ABC is so desperate for quality programming they have entered into a two-year agreement with HBO's Independent Productions (HIP) in which they have first look rights to ALL series programming produced by them. HIP is responsible for series such as 'Everybody Loves Raymond', 'ROC', and 'MARTIN'. (zap2it.com) It's other hits from HBO on HBO ... The Sopranos and Six Feet Under.

Aug 5: HeMan DVD: A Hemanrep at the comic con in San Diego confirmed to fans that 'HeMan and the Masters of the Universe' are indeed being slated for DVD by Toonami. Both series are coming to DVD in the near future. While not much is known about the classic original series details, the second season will be in widescreen format and 5.1 surround. (toonzone.net)

Aug 5: Austin No So Good?: Despite first week big money, the second week found Austin Powers playing with his own Goldmember as theaters weren't so packed.  After kicking some serious ass with $73M the first week, the audience numbers fell off by close to 48% - taking in just over $38M and fell to number two at the box office behind 'Signs' in its first week.

Aug 5: Pictures Talk: A picture use to be worth a thousand words. Not anymore, they're worth big bucks. People Magazine stupidly dropped a mere $75,000 for a photo of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez kissing. While several magazines placed bids on the photo, People Mag won the photo.

Aug 5: Creature Not Safe: No classic films are safe from the studios today. Now 'Creature From the Black Lagoon' has entered remake hell as word comes from a source at Dark Horizons that Guillermo Del Toro's name is attached to direct a remake. Del Toro directed Blade II and will next helm Hellboy starring Ron Perlman. The scoop goes on to tell that the film will likely be done in Queensland, Australia.

Aug 5: Buffy and Beyond: Joss Whedon believes that Buffy can go on beyond next season with or without Sarah Michelle Gellar, when her contract ends this season. Gellar has expressed very little interest in returning to the character after this season. UPN and Whedon are attempting to let fans know that 'Buffy' will be around beyond this coming season. Fans can expect Buffy to return to the old formula from the dark edges of last season. Expect to see old favorites return this year like Tara, Faith, Glory, Drusilla, and Adam (played by Amber Benson, Eliza Dushku, Clare Kramer, Juliet Landau and George Hertzberg respectively.) (tv guide)

Aug 5: Spyglass Eyes Small Screen: Independent  production company Spyglass Entertainment has formed a television division. Andromeda (season 3), Mutant X (season 2), the Lost World (season 4), Space Hunter (season 1: likely to be it), Once a Thief (seaosn 1: Likely to be it), and possibly 'Young Blades' on PAX.

Aug 5: America Likes Chunky Chicks: The debut of Anna Nicole Smith's half-hour reality series scored big earning a 5.5 rating. The rating will likely earn the show the biggest cable rated premiere of all time. A record recently held by the premiere of USA Networks 'the Dead Zone'. Man, what is this country coming too?

Aug 4: Site Down: Apologies for the site being down Saturday night until today around 10am. The server was having some major rework done on it. First time in 2.5 years the site has been down more than an hour, so I can't complain. I do apologize though for it being down. It is back up. BUT, it is up. Thanks.

Aug 4: Chucky is Back: No, not the stupid doll horror star  - but action star Chuck Norris. After starring in Walker: Texas Ranger, Norris has now struck a deal with Tribune Entertainment for a syndicated series. While there is no title for the series or even a real design concept, it will be an anti-crime action series. The deal is for a guaranteed 22 episode commitment.

Aug 4: Depp Sucks: Bloody Disgusting has gotten word that actor Johnny Depp may have actually gotten the lead in the feature film remake of the series 'Dark Shadows' as a vampire Barnabus Collins. Depending on the script it is something that Depp would very much love to do. (bloody-disgusting.com)

Aug 4: Pretender: the young Michael T. Weiss character Jarod in 'the Pretender' was played by Ryan Merriman. He is now 19 and recently had a role in the Halloween 8 feature. (We won't hold that against him.). The young thespian will return to television in the action series 'Veritas' on ABC. He will play the lead character named Nikki - who is part of an archeological organization, run by his father, that goes around the world discovering the truth. Veritas is being filmed in Montreal Canada.

Aug 4: The Schwartz: It has been a long time since Arnold Schwartzenegger has had a hit movie. His Batman stint was dirt, End of Days (flop), The Sixth Day (flop though really good), Collateral Damage (flop and was good). Arnold is 55 years old an no longer worth the $20M to $30M his is getting in Hollywood today. The muscle man is no longer the box office draw he use to be. He is hoping that Terminator 3 will relaunch his career. Afterwards he will step into the familiar role of 'Harry Tasker' in True Lies II or that of Conan in King Conan: Crown of Iron. All three are roles that fans are familiar with and enjoyed. While a favorite of mine, the man is no longer the box office draw he once was.

Aug 4: King Conan: If the team doing True Lies II isn't ready, it is likely that the Schwartz will step into the role of Conan. Director John Milius told Arnoldfans.com that while Conan will tool around with the Atlantean sword he will spend many a time fighting with a Frazetta designed axe. Milius will direct a cop film before stepping behind the camera for King Conan.

Aug 3: AOL/TW Trouble: Hopefully the shit happening today proves that huge companies should not merge. AOL/Time Warner stock fell 6.4% Friday. AOL Sucks, always has and always will. Stocks took a tumble after the SEC decided to take a look into some dealing between AOL and a small software company PurchasePro.com.

Aug 3: Disney Trouble Too: There was some more good news that Disney's stock has taken a tumble as stocks dropped 9%. Disney's outdated theme parks will not be posting positive returns. Park reservations are done 10% from last season. Hmmm... wonder why when only cost a ton of money for a family of four to have a decent weekend at the park. Gee, are we made of money or what?

Aug 3: Monster Inc.: For now there are currently zero plans for a sequel to the hit cgi animated feature 'Monsters Inc.' So far they have not come up with any ideas geared for a quality sequel.

Aug 3: Vampirella: Mindfire Entertainment has optioned the feature film treatment to Vampirella. Mindfire is planning a $20 to $25M budgeted film which will go into production sometime next year. (dark horizons)

Aug 2: Aliens vs Predator: Director Paul Anderson told 'JOBLO' that the film will be a stand alone film and not a continuation of the Alien Franchise. Anderson is finishing up his 'Resident Evil 2' script and will then start on this one. (moviehole.net)

Aug 2: Woo's Turtles: During an interview with Moviehole.net, Corey Feldman reported that he heard the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoon that was in work got scratched right along with John Woo's plan for a CGI based $60M Turtles feature. Feldman also tells that the 'Lost Boys 2' project was nothing more than a rumor. You can read the entire interview with Corey Feldman at moviehole.net.

Aug 2: Diesel's Super Car: The whizkids over at General Motors Pontiac division are hoping to design a new supercar for Vin Diesel in the xXx sequel due in 2004. Pontiac designers are hoping Diesel will do for their sports car what Bond has done for the Austin Martin.

Aug 2: Knight Rider: Revolution Studios is currently auditioning cars to appear as their updated K.I.T.T. for the big screen adaptation of the 80's series, Knight Rider. Series star, Davide Hasselhoff is reportedly not to appear in the new film since he's in rehab.

Aug 2: Flint: Catherine-Zeta Jones will play Grace Flint in the action/thriller Flint. Flint is a British intelligence agent who has reconstructive surgery after being brutally beaten and disfigured while on assignment to infiltrate a money-laundering operation. She resurfaces as an undercover M15 agent to nail her attackers and thwart their scheme

Aug 1: Charlie's Angels 2: X-Files and Terminator 2 star Robert Patrick has been picked up for 'Charlie's Angels: Halo'. He will actually be playing the male lead in the sequel. Patrick gets to play an FBI agent/ Navy Seal that gets involved in a threesome... I mean with the Angels.

Aug 1: Black Sash: The WB has officially ordered 'The Black Sash' as a mid-season replacement. The pilot is already done and they are going back into production for another six episodes. The series stars Russell Wong ("Romeo Must Die") as an ex-cop who moonlights as a bounty hunter while operating a dojo in San Francisco. The WB is hinting at an early 2003 start date for the series. (Scott Strout & the LA Times)

Aug 1: The Lone Ranger: The mask ranger is still alive at the WB and will air as a two-hour telefilm presentation next season. The remake of the original cowboy classic, which first aired on TV from 1949 to 1965 with Clayton Moore in the saddle, now stars Chad Michael Murray as the Lone Ranger and Nathaniel Arcand as his sidekick Tonto. The new "Lone Ranger" project comes from former WB Entertainment President Susanne Daniels and her recently formed Primarily Entertainment, which is a co-production partner with the similarly nascent Turner Television, headed up by John Litvack. (la times)

Aug 1: X2: Cinescape Online has learned that the new sequel 'X-Men 2' will feature an ensemble cast but the story will focus on Wolverine. WooHoo!! Now just get them to do a solo Woverine trilogy. Oh yeah.

Aug 1: U.S. Marshals: The Fugitive flopped going from small screen to big screen and back. Now ABC has ordered a pilot based on the movie 'U.S. Marshals' which starred Tommy Lee Jones. It was a sequel to the feature 'the Fugitive'. Huh... (hollywood reporter)

Aug 1: Episode Two: Fans can get the DVD/VHS release of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones on November 12th. The two-disc DVD is $29.98 and the VHS (if your stupid enough to buy it) will be $24.98. (holywood reporter) Wonder if anyone will be lining up outside Wallmart a month before its release?

Aug 1: Below: The David Twohy feature 'Below' will be hitting theaters after nearly being delayed for a year. When? Possibly in the fall or winter. Below stars Matt Davis and is about a haunted submarine. (scifi wire)

Aug 1: Austin Prequel?: Director Jay Roach said the unthinkable bad word in an interview with Cinescape. He said that he and  Mike Myers talked about  the fourth film, if it happens, being a prequel to the first film. Austin Powers in Space. Great, just great a PREQUEL.

Aug 1: Exorcist 4: The Prequel: Affliction director Paul Schrader has entered negotiations to helm the latest Exorcist feature starring Liam Neeson. Schrader also directed the film 'American Gigolo' and 'Cat People'.

Aug 1: B King Cometh to Witchblade: Bruce Campbell might be everyone's favorite number one 'B' actor, but the KING of 'B' films is Eric Roberts. He's been doing 'B' films for 20 years and will now join Yancy Butler on an episode of TNT's 'Witchblade'.  The episode 'Parabolic' airs Monday, August the 12th at 9pm. Roberts has done TV Series, telefilms, and major features through his career, but his mainstay has been 'B' films.
