July 31: I Dream of Jeannie: Barbara Eden confirmed to Larry King that feature film based on the series is indeed in development and she is to have a supporting cast role in the film. (dark horizons)

July 30: Dead Like Me: Showtime is trying for another hit series. This time a pilot titled 'Dead Like Me'. The fantasy comedy tells the story of George, a disaffected young woman (Ellen Muth), who is killed when a piece of the Mir space station hits her. She awakes to find herself assigned to a job in the afterlife, working for a "reaper" named Rube (Mandy Patinkin). Bryan Fuller (Star Trek: Voyager) wrote the script and serves as executive producer of the pilot. 'Dead Like Me' will air on Showtime in 2003.

July 30: Cube 2: Hypercube: April 2003 appears to be the latest video release date for the sequel. Some figured the Sci-Fi Channel would have picked up the sequel.

July 30: Solaris: The George Clooney picture 'Solaris' has had its release date upgraded from December to November 27. Solaris is from Steven Soderbergh and produced by James Cameron.

July 30: Austin Powers 3: Austin Powers, starring Michael Myers, opened to a whopping $73.1M. Amazing for a film that really isn't very good. The huge number of cameos in the film though are excellent.

July 30: Hannibal: Vin Diesel will be play a third century warlord in the movie 'Hannibal' for Revolution Studios, who's developing the project. One of the Gladiator scripters 'David Franzoni' has also signed on to script the project.

July 30: Sniper 2: Columbia Pictures is doing a sequel to Sniper. They have brought back Tom Berenger from the first film. (moviehole.net)

July 30: Seagal News: Steven Seagal's newest films 'The Foreigner' and 'Out For a Kill' are looking to be 'Direct to Video' releases.

July 30: I-Man Action Update: The auction begins August 14th, at http://auction.shinies.net/ The auction is loaded with some great stuff. Be sure to check it out.

July 30: Ian Holmes: Actor Iam Holmes (Alien, Tarzan, and Lord of the Rings) is fighting prostate cancer and is battling the side effects. It will be about two-years before the 70 year-old actor knows if he is cured. (Scott Strout)

July 30: Red Rabbit: The next Jack Ryan film is currently being written by Tom Clancy for Ben Affleck. Unfortunately Affleck isn't signed for any sequels and it's sure if he wants to come back or not. More than likely if offered the role to play Jack Ryan, Mr. Affleck will be back. He is one working actor.

July 30: Mad Max: For some reason Mel Gibson is hot to reprise his role as Mad Max. He claims it's working with Director George Miller that he wants, but it could be that Mad Max made him famous, and the character is his.

July 30: Spy Kids 3: Director Robert Rodgriquez told the sci-fi wire that he is already working on a script for his third film in the series. He hopes to be in production by November.

July 30: Go Diesel: Vin Diesel is signed on to a trilogy of Pitch Black films. That's three films beyond the original 'Pitch Black' film. Very cool! Thank goodness that 'the Diesel' has confirmed that none of the three films will be prequels to the first one. Says Riddick to the Sci-Fi Wire... "The three films will deal with "the universe that Riddick is involved with," Diesel said. "It's got this extensive story that [director] David Twohy's putting together. He calls it the evil Star Wars."  Diesel turned down further 'Fast and the Furious' films to do the Pitch Black trilogy. This is GREAT news!

July  28: Max Headroom: TechTV on expanded cable is still showing episodes of Max Headroom on Sundays,  Max at 1pm EST and again at 7pm.

July 28: Hunter Returns To NBC: The hit 1980's series Hunter returns to nBC this season in a new telefilm, 'Hunter: Return to Justice'. The last Hunter telefilm was in 1995 in 'the Return of Hunter: Everyone Walks in LA'. Stars Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer will be returning for the new telefilm.

July 28: I-Man Auction: Fans of the series, and TV memorabilia collectors get ready. The Invisible Man auction will be here soon sponsored by the Perseus Project. Soon as I get the official press release I give you folks the URL and the dates. There is some great stuff going up for auction including the Gland. Yep, Darien's gland will be going up for auction.

July 27: Austin Bootlegs: Overseas bootleggers are working overtime on 'Austin Powers' with its simultaneous release around the world. Some copies have already shown up on the internet, been downloaded, copied and are currently in circulation in Britain. It appears that these copies were originally for the Far East audience since they're subtitled in Japanese. (Scott Strout & the Scotsman)

July 27: Lo Blow: Anyone care that Jennifer Lopez has already filed for divorce from her new husband? Nope... me neither.

July 27: Eliza Dushku & Buffy News: Joss Whedon has some big plans for the young actress this season. He is hoping to use her on both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Seth Green is however unlikely to return due to his busy schedule this year. But Whedon is hopeful he can get him in for at least one episode. More Giles though as Anthony Head will get a lot more time in season seven of Buffy. He is contracted for ten episodes and that could expand. (Scott Strout & Zentertainment)

July 27: Angel Comin' Home: Well, actually to my home, Las Vegas, this season for one episode. An entire episode will take place here in Sin City.

July 27: Firefly Review: It may be a good thing that 'Firefly' is already getting revamped after reading Josh Hadley's review of the as yet unaired pilot. He's watched it and Fox was not happy with it. READ THE REVIEW. Josh overall believed the pilot was good, not great. Less than a quality show.

July 27: Farscape:  Virginia Hey (zhaan) will be attending the Las Vegas Star Trek convention from Aug 2 - 4th at the Las Vegas Hilton. Did you know that things were not so friendly when Virginia Hey was a regular on the series, and it eventually lead to the actresses dismal from Farscape? Things have gotten pretty bad for the actress since her departure as well. With no work, no agent, or any work in sight - Virginia Hey has been forced to booked herself for almost every convention this year. She is pretty much living of them. This type of behavior is generally for more known actors like Val Kilmer, Michael Beihn, and Kevin Costner who are very hard to work with. Farscape has become a much better series with her gone and major characters coming in and out of the series. It keeps the show very fresh. What you read in the magazines about why someone supposedly left a show isn't necessarily the entire truth. There is usually more.

July 27: New Covers: New VHS Cover Sheets have been added to the site for 'HUNTER', 'The Rockford Files' and 'Hawaii Five-O. Enjoy the new Gold Series of Cop Show Cover Sheets. VHS AREA

July 27: PREY: Fox has dumped $5M for the film rights to Michael Crichton's (jurassic park) latest book, 'PREY', involving nano-technology. Paramount has just wrapped principle photography on its Crichton project 'Timeline' and Disney paid $10M for 'Airframe', which they have yet to develop.

July 27: WB vs UPN: UPN and the WB will go head to head in the genre area this fall on Wednesday nights as 'Birds of Prey' at 9pm goes head to head with 'the New Twilight Zone'. It looks like the demise of 'Twilight Zone'. This happened last season when 'Dark Angel' went head to head with 'Angel'.

July 26: Episode 3 New England: AICN recently ran a story indicating that George Lucas might be looking at filming a lot of 'Star Wars Episode 3' in New Zealand rather than Australia. One of moviehole.net's spies got the lowdown on what is going on... "actually Lucas looked at New Zealand for episode2 (before he chose Australia) and is rumored to have favored NZ due to lower costs. However, all the soundstages were taken up by the LOTR trilogy. If LOTR has finished shooting, and enough soundstages are available for Episode 3, don't be surprised if NZ is chosen over Fox (unless Fox/NSW government cut a deal better than the costs in NZ)". But from looks of it, Lucas will possibly be doing the whole darn thing in NZ. (thanks to Clint Morris at moviehole for the news)

July 26: Jeremiah: Starting tonight at 10:30pm on Showtime fans can start watching the first season again as the first episode airs.

July 26: Dead Zone Scores: USA Network's 'The Dead Zone' came in third this week in the cable ratings after falling from the top ten just a week ago. The Dead Zone captured 4.7M viewers.

July 26: Girls Got Power: With the series Farscape, charmed, Witchblade, Alias and the new 'Birds of Prey' on the WB this fall, Girl power has definitely returned. These shows promote strong female leads in the genre and for television in general. Birds of Prey is poised to be a big hit for the WB this fall. It is nice to see women in action roles rather than just doctors, lawyers and nurses.

July 26: Knight Rider: NW Magazine is reporting that David Hasselhoff may not be in the new film since he's in rehab for alcohol abuse.

July 26: West Wing Departure: It was bound to happen. Rob Lowe is the first to exit the hit series over a pay dispute next season. His character will gradually be phased out during the season.

July 26: Witchblade: Comics Continuum has reported that the first season of TNT's 'Witchblade' has been sold to 115 foreign markets and territories. It a hit there is sure makes season three look better here, even though season two has been... disappointing.

July 26: New Twilight Zone: UPN's new series based on Rod Serlings old series premieres this fall. Fans can expect each one hour episode to contain two (2) half-hour stories. (that's twenty minutes with commercials)

July 26: Batman vs Superman: Warner Bros. has issued an email that Colin Ferrell and Jude Law are not yet cast to play the two superheroes. More casting interviews are scheduled for next week. The two men are however the front runners for the roles. Colin Ferrell as Batman and Law in the Superman role.

July 26: Star Trek III: Paramount is planning its 'Special Edition' release of 'Star Trek III: The Search For Spock', but it doesn't like any new footage will be in the release. Just the standard extras, commentary, featurettes, storyboards, blah, blah, blah...

July 26: Mossing Is Susptect: Carrie-Anne Moss, made famous by the Matrix, has now signed on to a major role in the crime-thriller 'Suspect Zero'. The project already is set to star Ben Kingsley and Aaron Eckhart. The story is about FBI agents hunting serial killers who discover the one they’re after now is the most successfully murderous, and as yet, unknown serial killer in history. Moss will play Eckhart's partner.

July 26: The Future of Futurama: Max Groening, the co-creator of Fox's hit animated series 'Futurama' told the Sci-Fi Wire that he has some pretty narly plans for the series, even if Fox doesn't resume production after the 16 remaining episodes are aired. Fox ordered the end of production after last season. The order leaves 16 episodes unaired for the fall.

July 26: Starsky & Hutch: Director and Writer, Todd Phillips told MTV that the new film will be in present day, but pre-date the 70's tv show. The story will tell of how they met. Unfortunately the film will be a more straight ahead comedy rather than an all-out action flick. Shit! Figures with Owen Wilson due to sign and Ben Stiller on board. (moviehole.net)

July 26: X-Files: David Duchovny is ready to go. (who wouldn't be after his dismal movie career), but Rob Bowman hasn't been asked back to direct and he recently told the Calgary Sun that he may have a hard time getting Gillian Anderson back for it.  Does anyone really cares. (moviehole.net)

July 26: Fortune's Fool: Michael Mann (Miami Vice, Ali) is negotiating to helm Universal and Working Title Films 'Fortune's Fool'. Written by Eric Bergquist, the project is set in Los Angeles and follows a crack informant who finds himself with a winning lottery ticket worth $84 million. But when his police buddies discover his find, they steal the ticket for themselves. Over the next 24 hours, before the ticket must be cashed in, the cops begin to double-cross one another as each one wants the jackpot for himself. (coming soon.com)

July 23: Dead Zone Renewed: The USA Network has renewed 'The Dead Zone' for a second season. USA is expected to ask for 26 more episodes of the series. Dead Zone stars 'Anthony Michael Hall' (Pirates of Silicon Valley) and Nicole DeBoer (Star Trek: Deepspace Nine).

July 23: Emmy Snub: Like most genre series, Farscape got the snub at the Emmy's. Oh, it was nominated for 'Best Costumes'.  Farscape won best syndicated/cable series by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films and Ben Browder won best actor. The series is one of the best dramatic series on television regardless of it being based in Science Fiction.

July 23: She Spies: The new short series 'She Spies' premiered on NBC Saturday night drawing 4.7 million viewers and a 2.9/6 rating. The series is getting a springboard launch on NBC this summer before moving into syndication.

July 23: 24 this Fall: The second season of '24' will be in real-time like the first season, and takes place one-year later where he has quit the agency and is estranged from his daughter. ''Just as his world is crumbling around him, he gets a call from Palmer, now president, who needs his help for another perilous day,'' teases Fox entertainment president Gail Berman. The plot is said to revolve around a threat against the White House. Jack also gets a new potential love interest in Kate Warner (played by Sarah Wynter), a wealthy woman ensnared in the plot. And ''we're introducing a brand-new family that will explore some of the issues connected with being (Middle Eastern) in this country right now,'' says executive producer Robert Cochran. The premiere episode will air commercial free.

July 23: Underworld: Scott Speedman, best known as Ben from "Felicity", needn't worry he'll be stuck for work. He's just been snapped up to star in a promising new film called "Underworld" opposite Kate Beckinsale. "Underworld" is described as a modern-day "Romeo and Juliet" story set in the world of vampires and werewolves, in which one lover is a vampire and the other a werewolf. The project, set against the ravages of an ancient and bloody war between vampires and werewolves, will see Beckinsale play the lead role of vampire Selene, an elegant warrior with the strength of 10 men. Although her main goal is to kill werewolves, she ends up falling in love with one by the name of Michael (Speedman), whose goal is to end the war. Len Wiseman will direct. It's his first stint as director. (moviehole.net)

July 23: Crap on TV: The worst thing about the networks is how they decide to schedule their own series. There is so much crap on television with very few quality series to watch anymore. Yet, these executives fight with each other for different timeslots pitting their best series against each other. Some quality series get canned, while crap continues to get renewed each year.

July 23: Baseball to Screw the Fans... AGAIN!:  The players union has set a tentative strike date for September 16th.  You wonder how many times fans can get slapped in the face and continue to come back for more. Fuckem'... It's time for the NFL baby! WooHooooo

July 23: Wonder Woman: The Joel Silver project never seems to get anywhere, but Australian director George Miller (Mad Max, Babe) is being mentioned as the front runner to helm the project. (moviehole.net)

July 23: The Fountain News: Efforts by the Australian state of Queensland to woo major Hollywood film productions away from its southern neighbor, New South Wales (Sydney) have suffered a setback due to the demands of Brad Pitt, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Sunday. According to the newspaper, Warner Bros. had planned to shoot the upcoming the Fountain, starring Pitt and Cate Blanchett, at the Warner Bros. Movie World facilities on Queensland's Gold Coast, but Pitt reportedly balked at having to be posted in Queensland for three months, and, in the end, the studio relented and shifted the production to the Fox Studios in Sydney. The SMH quoted an unnamed film insider as saying, "The truth is, the decision has nothing to do with financial stuff. Brad Pitt couldn't bear to live in Queensland." Earlier in the year, Queensland Premier Peter Beattie personally visited Hollywood to pitch the Movie World facilities and offer financial inducements to studios. When the site was chosen for filming of The Fountain, he exulted, "We want this state to become a main center for filming in Australia, and that includes visits from celebrities," Beattie said at the time. (Scott Strout & USA Today)

July 23: Batman vs Superman: Variety reports that Warner Brothers is planning to use the 'Batman vs Superman' feature as launching pads for solo features. One, Superman 5, directed by Mc G, is likely to be the Superman spin-off and the Batman: Year One, to be helmed by Darrin Aronosky, are likely to be the projects.

July 23: Jackson Speaks Out: Samuel L. Jackson (Die Hard 3) has come forward to admit that he doesn't like rappers-turned-actors and refuses to work in a film with one. He does admit to the Will Smith as the one exception. Says Jackson, "I know there's some young actor sitting in New York or L.A. who's spent half of his life learning how to act and sacrificing to learn his craft but isn't going to get his opportunity ... because of some actor who's been created, To take people from the music world and give them the same kind of credibility and weight that you give me, Morgan Freeman, Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker -- that's like an aberration to me," (zap2it.com) He has a point. Black actors and actresses have had to work hard to get where they are at.

July 23: Raimi is Not 30: Sam Raimi says he is way to busy with his Spiderman 2 project and turned down '30 Days of Night. (bloody-disgusting.com) It doesn't appear that the director is interested in it after the spider sequel.

July 23: 1000 Corpses Dead: Apparently MGM isn't as happy with Rob Zombies 'House of 1000 Corpses' as they once were thought to be. The studio has actually dropped the film. At least for now, the release of the film is in limbo.

July 22: NBC Gets Silver: Producer Joel Silver has signed a development deal with NBC for three drama projects in 2003. One of the projects is a guaranteed pilot deal. Silver is the man behind 'the Matrix', 'Die Hard' and 'Lethal Weapon'. His production company tv credits include UPN's 'Freedom' and 'The Strip' plus Fox's 'Action'.

July 22: Dinotopia: Producer Robert Halmi Jr. has recast the three leading stars for the mini-series turned 'weekly series'. The new stars are Erik Von Detten as Carl and Shiloh Strong as David, and Georgina Rylance as Rosemary. The new series will focus on what is happening on the lost continent, their lives and the good and bad that takes place there.

July 22: The Descent: The project is developing at Dreamworks with Red Hour Films, and Phantom Films producing a script from David Goyer, will also produce. It is based on a novel by Jeffery Long about a group of scientists led by a former cave explorer who must deal with a terrifying new species that dwells in the caves. (variety)

July 22: D-Tox: Stallone filmed this one years ago. It was released overseas and managed a whopping $6M. It did so poorly that Universal canceled Stallone's two remaining movies on his three movie deal. Universal has sold D-Tox 'Direct To Video'. Put it to bed folks, Stallone is done as a leading man. It's supporting cast or lead bad guy.

July 22: Indiana Jones 4: Coming Soon has learned that Indiana Jones will not be adventuring with a son in the fourth Indiana Jones film. Harrison Ford confirmed this to Cindy Pearlman during an interview.

July 22: Harry Potter 3: The third Harry Potter film has a director. With Christopher Columbus needing a rest after the first two films, Exec. Vice President of Warner Brothers, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, has hired Alfonso Cuaron (A Little Princess) to direct.

July 22: Dune Series: The second sequel mini-series is coming to the Sci-Fi Channel in 'the Children of Dune'. It premieres in the spring of 2003. With the success comes word of the possibility of a Dune series. The SFC and the Dune production team are considering a series based on the Dune novels. The same rumors surround Battlestar Galactica and Quantum Leap which will have a mini-series and telefilm respectively. Don't expect series from all three. There is no way the USA Network will fund the bill for three high priced series on the Sci-Fi Channel. (variety & cinescape online)

July 22: Spy Hunter: Remember the video game? The movie based on the game is moving forward. In a possible attempt to capture the xXx feel to the film they have cast the WWF's 'the Rock', aka Dwayne Johnson. Producers are now in search of a writer to bring the game to film. Johnson will play Alec Sects, an expert car/boat/ and plane fighter. (variety & cinescape)

July 21: Birds of Prey: Superbabe Mia Sara has been signed to play the part of 'Harley Quinn' in Birds of Prey, replacing Sherilyn Fenn. Mia Sara most recently appeared in a guest arc on Chicago Hope as a transsexual and started her career in 'Legend' and 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off.'  The role of Harley, the Joker's former lover (and current shrink to Helena) who is now taking matters into her own hands, was originally supposed to be a recurring one. However, after the pilot was shot the show's creators realized that she would need to be a bigger part of the show.

July 21: Bat vs Super: Director Wolfgang Peterson has his short list for 'Batman vs Superman'. Who would you choose to play the duo? James Franco, maybe Johnny Depp or Jude Law and Paul Walker? These gentlemen wouldn't be on most peoples extended list, but have made Peterson's list. Actors in their 20's and 30's who can actually act are being considered for the roles. (superhero hype)

July 21Roll-up TV's: You read it right friends. Roll-up flexible televisions are just around the corner now, thanks to Britain's Cambridge Display Technology. You will see this new television by 2004/2005. Four weeks ago Philips demonstrated a plastic television only a fifty millionth of an inch thick. Sony, Hitachi, and Toshiba are leading the way with research and development of the project, but the military is right behind them. Planned uses, besides the home, are wrist watch tv's, giant animated billboards and other projects are in work. (yahoo news)

July 21: The Fountain: Aronofsky's scifi film will be filming in Sydney Australia , according to Australian newspapers The Daily Telegraph and The Sun-Herald. Pre-production is even supposed to start in Syndey next week, states an 'insider' for The Telegraph. Although the articles do contradict each other in a couple of places, they both mention that the film will be shooting at Fox Studios in Sydney and that Pitt was unhappy with shooting in Gold Coast, the film's previously scheduled shooting. The Sun Herald quotes an 'insider' as saying, "The truth is, the decision has nothing to do with financial stuff. Brad Pitt couldn't bear to live in Queensland and insisted on living in Sydney." The Sun-Herald mentions that the film will have a budget of $70 million, while The Daily Telegraph states that it will have a budget of $100 million. I will promise you this is going to be the most interesting family on television this year.” (scifi wire)

July 19: Danger Diva: Another comic book heading to the big screen. Amanda Peete of 'The Whole Nine Yards' is the current favorite to star in the new film from Director Robert McGinley. 'Danger Diva', based on an original comic by the film's creator, the movie tells the story of a talented modern rock-opera queen, who is implanted with a voice enhancer which helps boost her career. Daily Variety reported today (Thursday)  The actor has reportedly been unhappy with the agency's ability to land big roles for him, aside from sequels, in recent years. He jumped from ICM to WMA in 1997.    Gee, 'The Sixth Day' and 'Collateral Damage' were really good movies. Schwarzenegger just isn't the action box office draw he use to be. After Terminator 3, the Schwartz wants to do True Lies 2 and it may be his last flick if the aging actor really wants to run for governor.

He is currently seeking production funding and if the script is good, Johnny Depp would actually want to play 'Barnabus Collins'. How popular is the old black and white series? The 40 episode four disc boxed set that was released sold out in a matter of days forcing Mpi Media Group to go back for a second printing. (TV Guide Online)

July 19: Buffy: Amber Bensen was killed off at the end of this season on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However the actress will appear in a few episodes next season, but as a different character. All the cast members are signed on to Buffy for an eighth season except for Sarah Michelle Gellar and Emma Caulfield.  UPN and Joss Whedon look to continue Buffy for at least one more season with a new Vampire Slayer.

July 18: Independence Day 2: Dean Devlin told Cinescape online that he has been good friends with Will Smith since the first film. If the script is good enough Devlin believes Smith might come back as the hero fighter pilot. Come on, the script can't matter that much can it? After all Will Smith did step into the Men In Black 2 sequel and he did Wild Wild West. Both films have very weak scripts. It's money.

July 18: Enterprise to Time Travel: You had to know it would happen again. Now in its second season 'Enterprise' the series will travel back to 1957 where the Vulcans are keeping an eye on Sputnik and have an accident, where they are forced to land in Western Pennsylvania. (Scout Strout, Ohio.com) God, the writing is so original. Star Trek without friggin' time travel is like Biscuits without Gravy. Jeez, don't ya just get tired of the same ol shit from Star Trek?

One such working robot premiered on the screensavers July 15 and was pretty impressive. The club has 250 members world wide, and the robot has up to 1500 voice clips from the series that you can have the robot say. One person is selling their kit priced at $9000. Most of their site is still under construction.  (Bruce Cox)

July 16Angel: As Angel enters its fourth season on the WB, the series looks to be getting darker this season. Hopefully it will not fall into the darkness that Buffy went through during last season. With co-creator David Greenwalt moving over to ABC for the drama 'Miracles', Joss Whedon has brought in David Simkins to run Angel on a daily basis. Whedon said with the changes the show will not suffer, he won't let it. Angel producer Tim Minear will also be working with Whedon in the same capacity on Fox's Firefly this season.

July 16: Alamo Canned: With Ron Howard gone from the project and Russell Crowe not likely to hang around without Howard on board, Disney has canned the project. For now at least it's dead and Thursday 80 of the 100 employees on the project were laid off. The remaining 20 were told to take a few weeks off as Disney decides what to do.

July 16: Batman vs Superman: batman-on-film.com is reporting that Christian Bale ($8M for SWAT) is almost a lock to don the cape and cowl of the Batman. As for Superman... Paul Rudd is the most mentioned with others like Vince Vaugn being talked about. What about villains? The Joker and Lex Luthor are first in line, but no work on who might step into the roles.

July 16: 30 Days of Nights: Another comic book looks to be getting the interest of Hollywood and director Sam Raimi (Spiderman). Just because Raimi was interested a seven figure bidding war started for the rights to it. It tells the story of a town in Alaska that is dark for a month because of the Earth’s tilt away from the sun, and so it becomes a paradise for vampires. The only thing between vampires and general chaos is the town’s husband and wife sheriff team. (cinescape)

July 16: Enterprise: Ex-X-Files producer John Shiban joined Enterprise's writing staff this season and believes the writing staff will have even more action for the second season and keep the creative juices flowing. Season two will see the Romulans, the birthing of the Federation and make the Vulcans interesting again. (scifi wire)

July 16: Another Spielberg Mini: First 'Band of Brothers' on HBO, and then 'TAKEN' for the Sci-Fi Channel later this year. Now comes word that Steven Spielberg will do another mini-series. This one an eight hour King Arthor retelling titled 'Arthur'.

July 16: Austin Powers 4: Despite all the rumors this way and that about another installment, director Jay Roach say he is open to a fourth film as long as the third film is well received or better than the first two.

July 16: Robin Crowe: Is Robin Hood set for a return to the big screen - with  Russell Crowe playing the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham? Top screenwriters Gregg Charbot and Kevin Peterka have already pitched a role in the planned film to Christian Bale, who stars in their latest movie Reign of Fire. They also want Boogie Nights actor Philip Seymour Hoffman to play an overweight Robin in the film, which will be set 10 years after the Robin Hood story traditionally ends. (Scott Strout)

July 16: Alien vs Predator: Should the picture actually come to happen it will be produced by Joel Silver Productions, John Davis and Lawrence Gordon. Paul Anderson (help us) is writing the script. Oh man... he is also listed to direct the picture.

July 16: Scanners Remake: Oh please... but true. Artisan Pictures is planning to remake 'Scanners'. The sequel will be from the 1981 'David Cronenberg' movie 'Scanners' which spanned two low budget sequels.

July 16: S.W.A.T.: As already reported Colin Ferrell is already on board the project, but can believe an unproven  has become an  $8 million man after signing up for a role in S.W.A.T.? The Minority star will play Officer Jim Street in the big screen adaptation of the 70's TV series, reports Variety. Samuel L. Jackson will topline the project, which will be directed by Clark Johnson. Farrell, who has starred in Tigerland and Harts War, has seen his payday rise exponentially over the past year. And yet the actor hasn't had a solo hit film and is making this money. I guess you don't have to earn your paycheck or pay your dues anymore in Hollywood. This is Sick!

July 16: Castle Wolfenstein: Another video game might be making its way to a theater near you. Columbia Pictures (owned by Sony Pictures) is considering 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' for such a project. The picture would combine the occult mixed with the Nazis and World War II.

July 15: UPN Premieres: UPN will hit its new shows along with the other networks this fall. Enterprise and the new Twilight Zone will premiere September 18th at 8pm and 9pm respectively. Tuesday Sept. 24th will be Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the less than hopeful series 'Haunted' beginning at 8pm.

July 15: Spiderman: The webslinger swings into Wallmart and Best Buy (and other stores) on November 1st on DVD in the US. (darkhorizons.com)

July 15: Terminator 3: Don't believe the rumors. Terminator 3 production is still in production and is on budget. There have been no shutdowns, cuts, or over budget spending. (zentertainment)

July 15: Birds of Prey Notes: Helena's costume will be changing from the pilot and be more street like. Batman will NOT be a recurring character now that a Batman production is in the works. And... fans can expect to see the sons and daughters of some members of Batman's 'Rogue's Gallery'. Gotham Clock Tower

July 14: Road To Perdition: That is what Tom Hanks choose for his latest flick. Road to Perdition is nothing more than a killing spree with characters of no substance. READ THE REVIEW NOW. If it's bad you can always look for Oscar talk, and this one is.

July 14: Number One Box Office: Men In Black II held off Tom Hanks latest movie taking in $25M for it second weekend bring the action flick to $133M in just 12 days. Reign of Fire took third for the weekend with $16M. This is the action picture to go see.

July 14: Halloween 8: The 8th, and likely not final, Halloween saga hit theaters this weekend taking in $12.3M. The studio is dubbing the picture as the scariest movie of the summer. Since the first film, none of the films has really been scary. More like Jason it's a hack and slash film. The new Jason vs Freddy flick should have thrown Halloween in there.

July 14: Warner to Play Basketball: AOL Time Warner has bought 10% of NBA's digital basketball channel for a mere $45M. The deal is the result of a contingency in the $4.6 billion deal with ESPN, NBA, ABC & AOL TNT broadcast rights package.

July 14: HIV Muppet: A female HIV positive muppet will be joining Sesame Street soon as part of a program geared for 3 & 7 year olds.

July 14: Worst TV: Two genre shows, a comedy and a action drama series, were voted part of the worst television shows ever. Coming in a number 15 was Manimal and 33 was Holmes & Yoyo (human looking robots). Also selected was the horrible UPN series Homeboys From Outerspace at number 31. TV Guides list however leaves some things to question since they added 'Hogan's Heroes' to the list. Deeming in 'Politically Incorrect' after all these years. Don't you have those words... politically incorrect? Ass wipes.

July 13: Farscape, the Series: If you haven't sat down and really watched a few episodes of Jim Hensen's 'Farscape' on the Sci-Fi Channel you are missing some of the best writing on television. The stories are deep and full of layers to be unfolded. The actors play their roles to perfection with some of the best acting on television today. There is something that pulls you into this series and keeps you there. It could be the incredible sets, beautiful women, or just the action as it unfolds. It's is one of the best series on TV.

July 13: Nick Fury: Tonight at 9pm on the Sci-Fi Channel, fans can catch the cheesey 'David Hasselhoff' comic telefilm 'Nick Fury, Agent of Shield'.

July 13: Stargate SG-1: Michael Shanks makes a return to Stargate next Friday on the Sci-Fi Channel. He returns from beyond to help save O'Neil. The actor was killed off last season on 'Showtime'.

July 13: B5 Boxed Set: The R2 Project has gotten an image of the new U.S. Boxed Set release. CLICK HERE to see the photo. For the United States it isn't anything special like some wonderful photos, or great space battle. It's just some plain artwork for the series like we always get. Nothing exciting to look at. But, at least the boxed set is finally coming to DVD.

July 13: Distribution Change: Peter Gruber and Paul Schaeffer's film company, 'Mandalay Pictures' has decided against renewing its distribution deal with Paramount after five years. They have opted to sign with 'Universal Pictures'. The new deal will offer Mandalay Pictures a greater flexibility in financing and distribution, as well as increases access to the international markets. Lion's Gate (dead zone producers) own a 45% minority stake in Mandalay Pictures but are looking to sell out. If you've got the funds, it could be a great investment... or not. (zap2it.com)

July 13: X2 News: Another rumor is out that Sabertooth and Toad, from the first film, have been written out of the script for the new film. Toad was great!

July 13: The Alien Look: Man - has anyone seen Joan Rivers and her latest face lift? Holy crap Batman, this woman could play an alien in the new season of 'Enterprise' this fall with no make-up. Talk about stretching some skin to the back of your head... whew! She reminds me of the guy  in 'Men In Black' that pulled his hair and stretched his face back. Wow Joan, you have taken things to extreme. Everyone gets old.

July 13: Starsky & Hutch: The not so anticipated big screen production of the late 70's series seems to slowing be moving along. Likely to be more of a comedy than action movie will be directed by Todd Phillips, who says this will be his next directing gig. (darkhorizons.com)  Phillilps directed the horrible movie 'Roadtrip', along with 'Bittersweet Motel', and 'Old School'. This doesn't look the sign of an action film.

July 13: Real Genius: One of my all time favorite comedy genre style films is coming to DVD in widescreen (2.35:1) and Pan & Scan. Real Genius stars Val Kilmer in one of his earlier roles before becoming an asshole to work with. The DVD cut of the film not the best as far as quality and there are no extras. But this is a great movie and one of the last great teen flicks ever done. It has an SRP of $24.95 but will drop quickly once it hits the market.

July 13: Aliens vs Predator: Will it happen? Who the hell really knows after all this time. But the Resident Evil director Paul Anderson confirmed to Dark Horizons yesterday that he is indeed working on the script for Fox. (bloody-disgusting.com) Can Anderson do better than he did with 'Resident Evil'? Jesus, let's hope so.

July 13: True Lies II: Despite rumors that Cameron doesn't want to do another one since 911, Arnold Schwarzenegger reportedly told 101.9FM in Chicago that he and Jamie Lee Curtis are ready to go. Tom Arnold has been ready for three years to do this. (darkhorizons.com)

July 12: Matrix Release: Warner Brothers has decided on its release date for 'The Matrix Reloaded'. The much anticipated film will hit theaters Thursday May 15, 2003. 'The Matrix Revolutions' is also scheduled for 2003 and will likely hit theaters in the November time frame.

July 12: Sci-Fi Boring: The Sci-Fi Channel is reaching in many directions these days with little of that same reach going in a direction the fans are interested in. Now the SFC has ordered 65 episodes of 'the Dream Team' in which a psychotherapist/ dream expert will help its studio audience and callers interpret their dreams. Who gives a fuck about that? That isn't scifi, horror, fantasy or even adventure. It's boring tv. The USA Network gets 'Dead Zone' and the SFC gets reality television. Whoopie... The SFC will air 22 original movies in 2003.

July 12: Genre Telefilm Slated: USA Network will fall in line with its bastard child and develop a slew of new telefilms and mini-series. Some of these projects are genre style films such as remakes of 'Spartacus', 'Helen of Trois', plus the telling of  'the Crusades', and 'King Tut'.

July 12: Fat Playmate: What does a 50lb overweight ex-playboy playmate and multi-millionaire do after she wins her day in court? She gets her own show of course. Anna Nicole Smith is getting her own show on E titled... 'The Anna Nicole Show'. Osbourne's look out.

July 12: Charmed: I have finished up the VCD Labels for charmed and they are now up on the site. VCD AREA... More covers are in work.

July 11: Sci-Fi Auction: CooperOwen.com is having a Sci-Fi Auction that ends October 8th. Items being auctioned include a prop machine gun from 'the Dirty Dozen', pistols from 'Resident Evil', and even a melting Mercury hit from Terminator 2. They auction will have original movie posters, an animatronic Dalmatian puppy from 102 Dalmations. It's a great auction. Make sure you check them out. (k. simmons)

July 11: Night Gallery: USA Network, figuring to cash in on the psychological thing, will create a limited series updating Rod Serling's 'The Night Gallery' series as part of its original programming. Of course the bastard child network, 'the Sci-Fi Channel', will get the series once it airs on USA.

July 11: X-Men 2: Kitty Pryde, Iceman (he was bobby) and Pyro will have much larger roles in the upcoming sequel according to the Dark Horizons website. Fans will get to see them using their powers in battle. Rogues role will be much smaller than in the first film, which wasn't that much to begin with and cameos are set for Angel, Gambit and Colossus who has the largest part. A cameo is also set for Jubilee, but has yet to be cast.

July 11: S.W.A.T.: Michelle Rodriquez has joined the cast of the new film with Samuel L. Jackson, and Colin Ferrell. (yahoo movies)

July 11: UPN Rules: Variety reports that Buffy and Enterprise have raised UPN's total viewers over last year by 15 percent.     UPN made a mistake by passing on 'the Dead Zone' for a remake of the Twilight Zone and a series titled 'Haunted'. Or... they could have picked up 'the Invisible Man' series which already had a quality audience.

July 10: Batman vs Superman: The script is pretty much ready. Director Wolfgang Peterson is looking to cast his leading men in a hurry. The basic story?   Batman and Superman begin as allies but eventually battle each other. "They both go through some kind of a crisis," Petersen said to The Reporter. "Superman has an unwavering belief in what is right and wrong and it's just not that simple anymore in today's world, while Batman is on a path of self-destruction. He reacts to an act of incredible violence in a way that almost puts him over the edge." Both Gotham City and Metropolis will be seen in the film. There are also three juicy female roles in the film.

July 10: Tremors In January: Not a repeat movie or new film, but a new series based on the films, 'TREMORS'. The new series is slated for January. The series is set in a small-town desert community [which] continues to be a magnet for giant alien worms... and now all sorts of other creepy-crawlies. Much to the chagrin of the U.S. government, our fearless blue-collar heroes are unstoppable fighters of the good fight. (cinescape online)  We lost 'the Invisible Man' and 'the Chronicle' for this? Shit...

July 10: Quantum Leap Movie?: This looks to be one of the 52+ telefilms planned for the Sci-Fi Channel over the next year. The new Quantum Leap movie being planned will NOT include Leap star 'Scott Backula'. (they said he is doing Enterprise... SO...) And yes it will be a back door pilot for a series. Most of the SFC's new movies will be potential back-door pilots. Leap creator Donald P. Bellasario is onboard to produce the new telefilm set to air next year. (cinescape online)  The question is, will fans even be interested in such a project without Scott Backula and Dean Stockwell? JULY 11... Scott Backula MAY make a cameo appearance in the movie.

July 10: Charmed VCD Cover: A new VCD Cover Sheet has landed on the site after a request from a fan late last night to go with the CDR Labels already on site. A back VCD Cover is in work. VCD AREA CLICK HERE

July 9: Hasselhoff Checks In: Knightrider/ Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, who turns 50 next week checked himself into the Betty Ford clinic on June 26 for alcohol abuse. He realized his social drinking was getting out of control. It is unknown when the actor plans to check out.

July 9: JAG: Creator Donald Bellisario told TV Guide that fans can expect some sexual tension between Mac and Harm in the upcoming season. More so than last season 7. The two characters will be getting closer, but that is all. Maybe down the road says Bellisario but not in season 8. Why not in season 8? He sees the series running maybe 9 or 10 seasons. And fans know that after these types of love relationships happen the series goes down quickly in the ratings.

July 9: Resident Evil: Nemesis: Paul Anderson is still working on the script for the sequel to the first flop. Production isn't scheduled until next year. The movie will follow the Nemesis game and introduce Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira, also from the game. The script isn't finished and any casting rumors you hear are just that... rumors. (bloody-disgusting.com)

July 9: Jurassic Park 4: Stan Winston told Mr. Disgusting that scripting has began on Jurassic Park 4, but it is in the very early stages. But the picture will happen. (bloody-disgusting.com)  Winstion also believes an Alien 5 will happen before 'Alien vs Predator' flick. Says Winston... rumors seem to be mostly false with a taste of truth to them.

July 8: S.W.A.T.: Actor Colin Ferrell (Equilibrium) has signed to star opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the upcoming movie S.W.A.T., based on the television series of the same name. S.W.A.T.  costarred the late Robert Urich (Vegas, Spencer For Hire) (hollywood reporter) Production is slated to begin later this year.

July 8: Forget the Alamo: Ron Howard has gotten tired of Disney dragging its ass on getting 'the Alamo' off the ground. The been so much ass dragging that he has decided not to helm the picture after all. Russell Crowe came onboard the picture to be with Ron Howard, but it is unclear whether or not he will stick around after his departure. Disney is desperately searching for a new director.

July 8: Gentleman: A League of Extraordinary Gentleman has began principle photography in Prague.

July 8: Cat in the Hat: Mike Myers, Dakota Fanning, and Spenser Breslin will headline the feature. Production is set to begin in the fall at Universal Studios.

July 8: Bond 20 Trouble: Madonna has a cameo appearance in the upcoming James Bond feature 'Die Another Day'. She'll play the part of a fencing instructor.  With her acting this could ruin the picture. Every movie she does has generally been a flop.

July 8: Transformers: Hasbro has sold the film rights to its 80's creation, Transformers. Hasbro is keeping it a secret for now as to which studio or producer bought the rights.

July 8th: Dead Zone: Anthony Michael Hall told Prevue Magazine in an interview that the first season will end in a cliffhanger at episode 13, and it will be a zinger. It will introduce the Greg Stilson character played by Martin Sheen in the film.

July 8: War Pictures: Looks like there might be a war movie frenzy getting ready to take place. Ridley Scott is talking a war picture. James Cameron is looking at a WWII picture and Peter Jackson is thinking about doing a WWI feature. Harrison Ford's submarine flick is coming out, and there are others. Hey give it a rest... most of them have flopped. Nicolas Cage's recent war flick flopped, Mel Gibson's war tale took a nose dive, and Pearl Harbor (an awesome feature) bombed at the box office. Black Hawk Down was successful though. People just aren't that interested in War Pictures.

July 8: Men In Black 3: UGO talked with Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones about doing a Men In Black 3 picture. Both actors are up for doing a third film if the second one is successful. Tommy Lee Jones would start tomorrow. At $20M each they would probably do just about any flick thrown at them.

July 7: Witchblade: Top Cow's Matt Hawkins has reported that a 'Witchblade' DVD of the two-hour movie is being planned for a Holiday release. The First Season DVD/VHS should hit stores in next spring, theoretically in preparation for a third-season launch on TNT. (Ron Wolfe)   Where the hell are the old series boxed sets... Miami Vice, Love Boat, Logan's Run, Buck Rogers, blah, blah, blah...

July 7: MIB 2 Sets Record: The four day opening for Men In Black 2 of $90M is a new 4th of July weekend record.

July 7: Spiderman: The hit movie 'Spiderman', already out of the top ten made a mere $2.2M over the July 4th Holiday, but that was enough to put the feature film over the $400M mark in the United States.

July 7: Episode 2: Star Wars has quickly fallen from the top ten to number 12, and taken in a total of 291M. A disappointing total for the fifth Star Wars film. It is unlikely that it will catch the webslinger.  Mr. Lucas isn't going to realize that he should be listening to what the fans really want from the films.

July 6: Fake Potter Hits China: An unknown author has released a fake Harry Potter novel in China titled, 'Harry Potter and Leopard-Walk-Up-To-Dragon'. The 198-page book has the name and bio of British author J.K. Rowling on its cover. They have yet to find out who wrote the novel. China has promised to crack down on counterfeiters and intellectual property theft, but as of Friday flocks of hawkers were selling the DVD unpunished right in front of the police. It doesn't look like anything will happen to the uncredited author, even if he or she is found - judging by the way China takes care of these things.

July 6: Dead Zone: Thanks to the Dead Zone, USA Network was the most watched cable network in prime time for the week averaging 2.46M viewers. Dead Zone itself pulled in an impressive 5.17M viewers for its Sunday at 10pm episode. The Dead Zone stars Anthony Michael Hall. The series was originally created for UPN, but there was no time slot available for the series, and USA Network picked it up. The pilot episode scored the highest ratings UPN has ever had in test audiences. UPN, Big Mistake... huge, enormous, large...

July 6: MIB 2: The two day opening of 'Men In Black 2' scored at the box office, with just over $36M going into today. Reviews of the movie have not been good, and fans coming out of the movie were not taken with the film. The second week will be the tell all if the movie has any real box office stamina.

July 6: Encore's Action Crap Logo: While watching 'Predator' on Encore's Action Channel around 1:30pm today I was aghast at seeing the new Action Channel logo for 30 seconds at the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It wasn't some see through logo like the networks use either. It was solid white, about three inches by three inches, and definitely took your eyes from the feature. What sucks the most about this, is that people pay to have the Encore package. They should not have to view some stupid network bug on the screen during a movie. We know what friggin' channel we paid to watch. This isn't basic cable package for crying out loud. This bogus type of self advertising has got to stop.

July 6: RIP Ted Williams: Baseball legend and all around great American pass away over the Holiday at the age of 83. Williams was the last major leaguer to hit .400 for a season and was possibly the greatest hitter of all time. He suffered two heart attacks over the last ten years and was hospitalized in November with congestive heart failure.

July 6: Lois & Clark: ABC's Lois and Clark has joined the VCD Area with a new VCD Cover and CDR Label. Been a busy holiday for VCD Covers.

July 6: Dead Zone: Ratings have dropped a bit since the premiere episode. But if ratings remain where they are fans will likely see a second 13 episode season. New VCD Front and Back covers have been added to the VCD AREA. Enjoy...

July 5: Firefly: Joss Whedon's Firefly got a VHS Cover Sheet about a week or so a ago, and now comes a VCD Front and Back label.

July 5: New VCD Covers: Some new VCD cover labels have joined the site. A Farscape front and back, a new Babylon 5 cover, and a Birds of Prey.

July 4: Blade III: David Goyer may be writing the script, but he isn't being considered to helm the project. Dark Horizons is reporting that Director Oliver Hirschbiegel has been offered the gig.

July 4: Sub-Mariner: Marvel isn't using the comics to create the Sub-Mariner feature. David Self is scripting the project and told the Sci-Fi Wire that it won't be based on any specific storyline. Of course it will be partially at least an origin storyline. It's an obligation to bring the audience up to speed.

July 4: Judge Dredd: The back to back films for Judge Dredd have been scripted and turned in. Now comes the polishing of both scripts right now, with a hope to go into production thereafter. The two Dredd films will be filmed back to back. Rebellion and Shoreline Entertainment will be teaming up on the project.

July 4: Men In Black 2: From recent comments around the job tonight and fans on the street I met while working at some of the casinos with theaters in them, Men In Black 2 was TWO much the same as the last one. Most thought the film was decent, maybe a 5 or 6 on a scale of ten. Nothing fantastic to latch on to.

July 3: Dead Zone on Sci-Fi: It was only a matter of time before the USA network shared 'Dead Zone' with the Bastard Child, 'the Sci-Fi Channel'. Needing a third series, and they have none of their own, will add Dead Zone to their Friday Night Prime line-up July 12th. It will join 'Stargate SG-1' averaging a 1.8 on the SFC, and 'Farscape' hitting 1.6. These are the Sci-Fi Channel's two best original series... Doh! It's their only two original series. They have to be. Dead Zone will make a decent trilogy of shows for a great Friday night.

July 3: MIB 2: The latest sequel reuniting Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones begins today.

July 3: Nicole is Good All Under: Nicole Kidman (the Others) confessed to the British GQ magazine that she enjoys going commando and leaving the undies at home. Now that's a mohawk any man would love to see. (imdb.com)

July 3: Alien 5: Sigourney Weaver again mentioned in an interview that she would love to do another Alien feature and so would 'Ridley Scott'. Weaver is 54 years old and too old to reprise the role which made her famous. It comes down to a Ridley Scott or James Cameron coming to the front of the pack and saying "Hey, I'm going to do another ALIEN flick." Then it gets done. Weaver isn't going to make the film happen.

July 2: Enterprise: The official Star Trek website has posted news that the second season premiere of 'Enterprise' on UPN is set for September 18th. The premiere will be 'Shockwave Part II', the conclusion to the cliffhanger last season.

July 2: The Fountain, Dry: Warner Brothers has pulled the plug, at least temporarily, on Darrin Aronofsky's 'The Fountain'. The feature to star Brad Pitt was budgeted for $60M and came in at more than that, so Warner put the project on hiatus. Aronofsky's other project at Warner Brothers... Batman: Year One has been put on an indefinite hold, since Warner decided to go with the Batman and Superman flick.

July 2How Do Bad Films Get Made: Don't you ever wonder how bad films get made? How do the producers, directors, actors and studios live with themselves releasing bad films to the public? Josh Hadley asks these questions in a new editorial. READ EDITORIAL

July 2: Apes 2: Producer Richard Zanuck told the Sci-Fi Wire that the planned sequel to 'Planet of the Apes' will be delayed. They don't want to exhaust the franchise. We're suppose to believe that? Planet of the Apes 2001 sucked. Great effects and make-up... even some decent acting. The story sucked. The reason to delay the sequel is that very few would actually pay to see it.

July 2: ID4-2: Regardless of the comments from Will Smith, Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich are planning to do an Independence Day 2 sequel. They would like to bring the original cast back (the ones who lived through the event) for the film.

July 2: Hamill's Return: Mark Hamill hasn't done that much in front of the camera since his Star Wars days. He has been using his voice though behind the camera on some great animation. Now Mark Hamill looks set for a return to the big screen in a new psychological thriller titled Constricted. It could co-star Roswell's Maljandra Delfino. (moviehole.net)

July 2: Misc News: Julia Roberts' bought and paid for boyfriend at $500,000, may get to be Mr. Roberts on July 4 according to the Zap2it.com website. Of course he'll have to sign a pre-nuptial agreement.

July 2: Catwoman: In a variety report WB President Alan Horn say that Ashley Judd starring as 'Catwoman' is not yet a done deal. He would love to have her do the role, but nothing is set just yet. They are still waiting on the script from John Rogers.

July 1: Batman: Year One: There is an independent Batman: Year One film coming to DVD & VHS in August. The low budget film is from 'Bat in the Sun' productions.

July 1: Ep II in IMAX: Come labor day fans of Star Wars: Episode II will get the chance to see it IMAX. It will hit about 15 countries including the United States. That means it will be showing here in Vegas at the Luxor Hotel and Casino. George just can't suck enough money from his Star Wars films.

July 1: Buffy 7: The seventh and possibly final season with Sarah Michelle Gellar, will give fans a much lighter and hopefully fun season. Whedon is also promising a new bad guy, that will be everyone's worst nightmare.

July 1: Matrix & Smith: Will Smith turned down the lead role in 'the Matrix'. He wasn't keen on the idea and thought the remake of Wild Wild West would be better for him. It was good for fans that Keannu Reeves got the lead in 'the Matrix'. Bad for Smith because 'Wild Wild West' was friggin' horrible. Will Smith hasn't really had a hit movie since... Men In Black in 1997. (moviehole.net)

July 1: Zeta Splits Douglas: She's joined the clan, had the kid and earned the family gash cash. Now comes word that Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are on the splits. I think we knew this was coming.

July 1: Constantine: Nicolas Cage just can't get the comic book thing down. Reports are that Cage is no longer involved in 'Constantine'. Now it looks like 'the Matrix' star Keannu Reeves is the front runner in the new film slated for theaters in 2004.
