June 31: Spiderman Rules: While Spiderman has fallen from the top ten film list this week at $395.7M the film is still kicking overseas and will pass $300M this week. The $140M movie making nearly $700M ain't half bad. Spiderman has more than proven himself this summer, that a second film should do almost as well. (comics2film.com)

June 31: Freddy vs Jason: Production begins in Canada, September 3rd. A group of teenagers will get into the mix as Jason and Freddy go head to head. Will we get the old Jason or the future Jason?

June 31: Knight Rider: The feature film project 'Knight Rider' based on the television series has had it first draft of the film completed by 'Glen A Larson'. David Hasselhoff is also set to make an appearance in the film. (Knight Rider Legacy)

June 30: Carrie Rehash: Still hollywood continues to rehash the same old stuff. NBC has began production on a three hour (one hour will be commercial space) telefilm version of 'Carrie', which stars Angela Bettis (girl interrupted). Production is being done in Canada. Besides the original starring Sissy Spacek and John Travolta, we were treated to a sequel which also flopped.

June 30: Brosnan Talks Fact: Some comments made by Pierce Brosnan have pissed off some Americans after stating the terrorist tragedy of September 11th will fade from peoples minds. The families involved in 9/11 want an apology from the actor. WHY? Brosnan is right in his statement. It is already happening. I see it everyday in my job. I don't like it, but its there. Sorry ass Americans are already forgetting the horrible attack on this great country. They're going back to their singular me, me, me way of life. The unity that 9/11 brought is quickly starting to fade. What Brosnan said is true. It sucks! But it's there. Live with it, or be a human being and never - ever forget. People are getting pissed off, because the man is right.

June 30: Misc News: Tatum O'Neal, exwife of John McEnroe, told Barbara Walters that her husband used steroids during his tennis days. That seems unlikely based on the man's appearance during his playing days. O'Neal herself looked totally doped up during the interview. Amazing that she could do the interview.   2. Xerox has apparently been adjusting the books to hide an $8b loss.   3. Worldcom has just laid off 17,000 workers after hiding a $4B loss.    4. Dirty Dancing is getting a salsa sequel (who cares).    5. Natasha Lyonne (American Pie) has pleaded guilty to drunk driving charges in order to stay out of jail. She'll be doing 50 hours of community service. She was caught trying to leave the scene of an accident.    6. Does anyone really give a shit if Steve Bing is the father to Liz Hurley's kid? The sad fact, is that with all the sleeping around that happens in Hollywood  a DNA test even had to be done.    7. Anjolina Jolie's (Tomb Raider) marriage to Billy Bob Thorton is on the rocks... excuse me - can I have my blood vial back please.    8. Sandler the Man. Actor Adam Sandler has apparently hit the big time as the actor is now making $20M per picture - which he picked up for 'Mr. Deeds'.   9. Disney has gone politically incorrect and canceled the show 'Politically Incorrect' after pressure from outside sources, which of course Disney denies.   10. BET - Black Entertainment Television - isn't that politically incorrect? Racist maybe? Would it be racist if we had a WET or JET (White Entertainment Television or Japanese Entertainment Television)? Something is wrong here.

June 30: Minority's Poor Report: The heavily touted Spielberg feature 'Minority Report' dropped from the number one spot to number three in its second week behind the Adam Sandler film 'Mr. Deeds' and the Disney animated feature 'Lilo & Stitch'.  Report took $22M in week number two for a ten day total of $73.5M. It costs about $105M to make.

June 30: Kirks Chair: The auction has ended folks. The chair valued at $150,000  sold for an impressive $265,000. The person who bid $80,000 off the bat was the final winner. There were only 29 bids likely coming from the same two or three people wanting the chair and having the cash to do it.

June 29: The Pretender: An interesting email was forwarded to the site from a Pretender fan this evening. Apparently TNT will pass on any further adventures of Jarod and the Center. TNT originally agreed to deliver one 1 telefilm with the option for another 2 to 4 telefilms - which they have done with the two films. There are circumstances other than the ratings that have forced TNT into their decision, but they will not go into them. Stupid decision by TNT. The money was likely used for 'Witchblade'.  As reported a while ago... the May 12th issue of Parade reported that Michael T. Weiss had signed up for a 3rd Pretender movie, but things have changed or been pushed back with TNT since then.

June 29: the Frighteners Directors Cut: Have you ever seen the directors cut of 'the Frighteners? It was only available on laserdisc and has yet to hit DVD. So for now bootlegs on VHS. Here my friends is a VHS Cover Sheet for the directors cut. Click the image to download it or visit the VHS Cover Sheet Area.

June 29: Birds of Prey Coming: A new cover sheet for the WB series 'Birds of Prey' has been added to the site for download. BOP premieres in the fall 2002 season. Reviews of the pilot episode have be exceptional. Click the image to download the cover sheet or 'CLICK HERE' to visit the VHS Cover Sheet main page.

June 29: Sci-Fi Crap!: Sci-Fi Reality? Is Bonnie Hammer literally beating herself with a real hammer? 'Scare Tactics' starring Shannen Doherty (Charmed). The show will film pranks inspired by sci-fi movies. We lost Invisible Man for crap programming like this! This is what the Sci-Fi Channel has in store for the fans? Fans lost LEXX, Invisible Man, and the Chronicles for sci-fi reality. What a depressing thought of what the genre has come too. SFC, you suck!

June 29: Hong Kong Cafe: A new hour long series based titled 'Hong Kong Cafe' from Dreamworks Television has entered a distribution deal with 'West End Stories' and 'Fortune STAR'. The new series will be offered to broadcast networks in the coming weeks. "Hong Kong Café" is billed as an original series highlighting the action, comedy and adventure of Hong Kong cinema through an extensive clip-licensing agreement with Fortune STAR. The series combines the greatest scenes in Hong Kong action films with a hosted, high-tech interactive set. Production could begin as early as July. (Scott Strout)  This has the making of another shit series. Jeez...

June 29: Witchblade Boring?: I've gotten two emails from Witchblade fans who are rather disappointed with the new season of TNT's 'Witchblade'. Complaints are the series moving too slow and is just rehashing the same stories from last season only with different endings. They are hoping things pick up soon. The season is only 13 episodes.

June 29: Nemesis: Like most fans I have watched the trailer for the new Star Trek film. I found it fantastic for a Star Trek film. If the trailer is any indication of what fans can look forward to the entire film, it could be the rebirth of the franchise.

June 28: Men In Black II: Before the movie came together there were reports that the film was just two expensive to make. One such report was here at Scifi2k.com. So how did the project come together? Nothing fancy, but a method that will likely guarantee that producers, and the studios can prove the film never made a profit. In the end it all the stars too smaller salaries than usual in exchange for back-end point participation. This means that they get a flat rate plus a percentage of the movies gross. That leaves a net of almost nothing when the final total profit is release.

June 28: Final Network Genre Ratings: Even though X-Files and Dark Angel were number one and two in the final syndication ratings for the season, both got the axe this year. Enterprise was third (an now number one) 3.60/5.89, Smallville a close second with 3.58/5.47. The Tick came in behind Smallvile but got the Axe by Fox too. Buffy, Angel and Charmed were further back at 2.76/4.38, 2.71/4.04, and 2.69/4.13. The both three network series all got walking papers in Special Unit 2, Roswell, and Wolf Lake. This makes second year series 'Enterprise' and 'Smallville' the top genre series entering the new season. (Ron Wolfe) Note: The Sci-Fi Channel is NOT a major network and their series are not listed with network ratings or genre syndication ratings.

June 28: Syndication Genre: Stargate SG-1 managed a great finish and tied with Andromeda as the number one syndicated genre series with a 2.77 final rating. First year 'Mutant X' was right up there ass caring a 255 rating. Fourth on the chart was Beastmaster with a 2.0 but still got the pick slip for next season. Earth Final Conflict ended its five year run in fifth place at 1.87. The biggest surprise is off the 2001/2002 last minute return of 'the Lost World' after losing its financing. After a season rating 1.75 the Lost World will get a fourth season in syndication. The remaining four in the ratings will not be returning next year. Those are Relic Hunter 1.69, Invisible Man 1.50 (synd. rating and not genre rating), Tracker 1.15 and Sheena which was not listed. (Ron Wolfe)

June 28: Black Out: Samuel L. Jackson is nearly set to star with Ashley Judd in the thriller 'Black Out'. The Story: a mystery thriller centered on a female police officer (Judd) who finds herself at the center of a murder investigation when her past lovers become the victims in a series of killings. Jackson will play Mills, a respected cop who is also the mentor to Judd's character.

June 28: Tom Hardy: Ron Perlman, who been around a long time has some nice comments about the young Tom Hardy and his role in the upcoming Star Trek: Nemesis feature... The guy who I play opposite is this young British actor named Tom Hardy, who I really enjoyed watching. He’s a very young guy, at the total beginning of his career, and he just handles himself like he’s been doing this for 30 years. Pearlman... Do you remember Ron Pearlman in the Ice Pirates as Zeno? The Sci-Fi Comedy was very entertaining and also starred Robert Urich, Anjelica Houston, Denis Crosby (she shot JR), John Carradine and the late football great John Matuszak.

June 28: Hunky Beards: Hollywood hunks Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings) and Heath Ledger (A Knight's Tale) have left studio bosses fuming, after growing beards for their new movie. Twenty-four-year-old Brit Orlando and Aussie star Heath, 23, are both starring in Ned Kelly, a film about the legendary Australian outlaw. And, although, the Brad Pitt-style shaggy facial hair they have grown for the flick is historically accurate, Hollywood bosses are terrified their new beards will jeopardize the pair's sex appeal with female film fans. After much negotiation, Bloom and Ledger agreed to trim down to a trendy stubble-look, but it was too late - too many scenes had been shot to start again.

June 28: BTTF DVD: At least the wait brings a quality price on the trilogy DVD when it hits theaters December 17th. The price for the three films will be an SRP of $39.99.  The tril includes 10 hours of extra material and yes, deleted scenes.

June 28: Day After Tomorrow: Dennis Quaid looks likely to star in Roland Emmerich's $100M 'The Day After Tomorrow' about the effects of global warming. This is likely Quaid's first big budgeted film since 'Innerspace 2'.

June 28: New Babylon 5 Cover: I have uploaded a new VHS Cover Sheet for Babylon 5. Babylon 5 continues to score well in the ratings and the first season boxed set is coming to DVD very soon.

June 26: Nemesis Tonight: Entertainment Tonight will screen the 1 minute 34 second trailer on Wednesday night show (that's tonight). The trailer will be put online at 7:30pm PST.

June 26: 24 DVD: The DVD boxed Set for the series '24' will hit shelves September 17th. (coming attractions)

June 26: LEXX Feature: Xenia Seeberg of LEXX told 'TV TOTAL that the producers of the series are planning to make LEXX into a feature film. (dark horizons)

June 26: Scorpion King: The DVD release of the film starring Dwayne Johnson, the Rock, will have an extended version when viewed in enhanced mode, plus the usual extras now standard on most DVD's. Be careful when you pick up your copy though. There will be widescreen, pan & scan, and a DVD+CD disc. Scorpion King streets October 1st.

June 26: Kirk's Chair: The original chair which Captain James T. Kirk commanded the Enterprise from is up for auction now. An advanced absentee bid has been put in already for $80,000. The estimated value of the is about $150,000. This incredible piece of television history is considered the HOLY GRAIL of sci-fi collectibles. CLICK HERE if you would like to keep track of the bidding.

June 26: Firefly: The cast is having a blast on the set of Firefly despite the constant changes and rewrites to the first episode. Half the starship is built on one soundstage with the other half constructed on a second sound stage. Would that be cool to have to play on for a day or so. Whoa! Lucky bastards.

June 26: Batman Gets Super: Moviehole.net has posted news from a source that Warner Brothers has greenlit a project titled 'Asylum' and will star Superman & Batman. The bad news from this is that while Superman from director Mc G is still a go, the previous 'Batman: Year One' project is being dumped for 'ASYLUM'.    Superman sucks... What fun is a comic book hero whose only weakness are pieces of rock from his homeworld? That's not fun. Batman is, and can be, a great franchise if done right. Where the hell is Green Lantern and the Flash in all this?

June 25: MIB 2: Even if the movie is great does it make it worth $7 or more when it comes in at under 90 minutes? Men In Black 2 comes in under the wire at 87 minutes. MIB 2 will open July 3rd. A few years ago most movies were under 100 minutes. Studios would cut features down to under that time to get more viewings at theaters per day.

June 25: Portman's Lesbian Lust: Sensual Star Wars babe Natale Portman has feelings for other women. The actress plays Senator Amildala in 'Attack of the Clones' announced that, although she has never explored her lesbian fantasies, she would not rule it out. Portman says her personality is more compatible with men, but she wouldn't want to close herself off to girl only (clam bumping) action. She has never dated a woman or anything like that, but why would you close yourself off to 50% of people? (Scott Strout from TV Tattle)

June 25: Indiana Jones 4: Cinescape Online has issued a report that should the film actually happen as planned it will be set in the 1950's. Harrison Ford doesn't really believe it the fourth installment will happen. Please remember that 'Calista Flockhart' joining the film as the female lead is just a rumor. Ford could dump the actress by then.

June 25: Darksiders: David Goyers told the Sci-Fi Wire that his new film, 'Darksiders' will be more of a superhero flick rather than a vampire film. Says Goyer, "It's kind of like an R rated X-Men. It's about a group of people with abilities above and beyond what normal humans have, [who] are secretly working for the government. They call them the Darksiders, because the world is completely unaware of their existence. They lead a very twilight existence in terms of they're basically forced to work for the government, and they can't leave. The government uses them for illegal, illicit activities." Goyer is currently polishing the script and casting should begin sometime this summer.

June 25: Episode 3 Details: Some hints of the third film have been release by Lucas through Starlog Magazine. Episode 3 will take place about three years from the second film. Bobba Fett will be in the third film, but the role will be small. Lucas also went on to say how cool the scene is where Anakin becomes Darth Vader and puts on the mask.

June 25: Farscape Boxed Set: The first season of 'Farscape' will be released in Boxed Set format on October 29th. The price though is a bit stiff at a $149.98 SRP. The Boxed Set is 11 discs, packaged in six keepcases. (advfilms.com)

June 25: T3 with MIB2: The trailer for Terminator 3 will ship with copies of Men In Black 2 when it hits theaters July 3rd.

June 24: Nemesis Hits ID: Star Trek 10 is now set to hit theaters July 4th weekend with a new trailer.

June 24: Tracker Axed: It was all but official, but it has finally come to pass. Lion's Gate did such a poor job selling the first season in syndication that 'Tracker', starring Adrian Paul, has been officially canceled. Lion's Gate and producers is still shopping the product around to the networks and cable outlets, but it seems unlikely that anyone will be interested in the low rated series.

June 24: Madsen To Keep Coming: Michael Madsen's 007 character 'Damian Falco' was already under contract to return in the next feature, but now Moviehole.net reports that Falco is set to remain a fixture in the 007 films as long as the character is popular with fans. Madsen would be a recurring character in the franchise - should he get tired of doing the character they would have him assassinated and use that as part of a storyline for Bond to get revenge.

June 24: Babylon 5 Still Strong: Babylon 5 continues to be the big winner on the Sci-Fi Channel. The recent Babylon 5 movie marathon scored a .8, .7 and .7 rating for the three telefilm broadcast on a Sunday afternoon. The Farscape marathon could not beat the B5 marathon. Hopefully at some point the SFC will turn some of these 50+ telefilms into new B5 movies. The franchise is a winner and fans enjoy the series.

June 24: Wonder Woman: The project remains in development hell, but now comes word that 'Gretchen Egolf' is now rumored to be in the running for the part of 'Wonder Woman'. (dark horizons) Everyone seems to be in the running for the part.

June 24: C.S.I. Miami: Ex-NYPD Blue alumni 'Kim Delaney' will be joining the cast of C.S.I. spin-off series CSI Miami. Delaney will play David Caruso's second in command.

June 24: Stargate News: Guest stars for the series finale season are set to include 'Ronnie Cox' (Robocop), 'Dean Stockwell' (Quantum Leap), and 'John de Lancie'. Executive Brad Wright told the Sci-Fi Wire that they also have two stories that include character 'Daniel Jackson' played by Michael Shanks. One of the two is the series finale episode. Once the scripts are complete they'll be sent over to him, and hopefully he'll what to do them.

June 23: Scooby Doo-llars: In its second week Scooby Doo fell to number three at the box office with just over $24M bringing the films 10 day take to $100.2. Again... the sequel is being fast-tracked for a 2004 release.

June 23: Cartoon Report: For the top two spots over the three day weekend the battle is between Tom Cruise in 'Minority Report', and Disney's no so impressive cartoon feature 'Lilo & Stitch'. Minority looks to be the top dog this week with $36.9M and Stitch racked up an impressive $35.8M.

June 23: Fans Win! Fans Win! Fans Win!: Fans of the legendary cartoon mouse 'Speedy Gonzales' have been heard by the Cartoon Network. CN originally refused to air the classic cartoon stating it was a stereotype and thought it best not to air the character in the United States (yunno, all the politically correct bull-shit going on). Now they say the character just wasn't popular enough until now... Right. Rush Limbaugh even got into the mix saying that this was political incorrectness gone to far. Speedy starred in 47 Looney Toons shorts and even won an Academy Award in 1955. (moviemafia.com.au)

June 23: SPOOKS: Miramax has greenlit the CGI animated movie with 'S.P.O.O.K.S.' (Special Paramount Organization Of Kids). It will be written by an animator on Jimmy Neutron named Kirby Atkins.

June 23: TV Themes: There are over 350 Television Themes available in the TV THEMES area. You'll find find the comedy series, dramas, action, scifi, fantasy and horror series alike. All your favorite classic series are waiting.

June 23: Chainsaw Massacre: Michael Bay has picked up its male and female leads in 7th Heaven's Jessica Biel and 24's Eric Balfour. Bay will do the remake of the 1975 Classic. It is now listed and updated in the Movie Mania Area.

June 22: Dead Zone Scores: USA scored a big win with the premiere of 'the Dead Zone' starring Anthony Michael Hall. 6.44 million viewers tuned in for the pilot episode. It was easily the largest audience for any USA original series. The Dead Zone helped USA capture the weeks tops honor among cable networks.

June 22: Enterprise: Filming of season two is set to begin July 9th. Voyager alumni, Roxanne Dawson will direct several episodes this season.

June 22: VHS is Out: Circuit City has decided that they will no longer sell VHS Movies in their stores. (I didn't know they sold them to begin with). There is no set time-table for the phase-out but several Circuit City stores have already removed the VHS movies from their shelves. CC will continue to sell VHS movies on their website and stock blank tapes in the stores.  I stopped shopping at CC stores after they tried to push the DIVX formatted DVDs on their customers.

June 22: Starhunter: A preview website has been setup at www.starhuntertv.com that contains behind the scenes footage, interviews, pictures, a forum and more. Western International Syndication has signed with Alliance Atlantis Communications, Inc., to be the exclusive U.S. distributor of STARHUNTER, a weekly sci-fi action adventure series. The following is from the Official Press Release...  STARHUNTER follows Montana and his crew as they take to the stars in increasingly dangerous bids to nab intergalactic criminals.  The 'law of the land' on Earth in the year 2275 is unreliable at best.  As colonies expand further out into space, so does the lawlessness -- and the bounty hunters who hunt the villains.  With munitions expert Lucretia Scott and his teenage niece, Percy by his side, Dante relentlessly pursues a colorful assortment of merciless outlaws throughout the galaxy. Starhunter stars 'Michael Pare'. The series has already aired in Canada.

June 22: Scifi2k Updating Again: Well, the laptop is up and running again after a rough week. Updates will be regular again. Sorry for the inconvenience. Still got software and fonts to do on the portable but we are running.

June 22: Alias: Mr Sark, played by David Anders, will get a full time position in the second season of Alias as the character becomes a regular. (scout strout & zap2it)

June 22: More Buffy: Is it possible that there will be new Buffy episodes after season 7? Gellar seems tired of slaying vampires these days with her comments to the media. However UPN seems ready to do season 8 with a new 'Slayer' - one willing to do a feature film. Executive Producer Marti Noxon believes it would be hard for Buffy to work without Gellar but thinks 20th Century and UPN will attempt the deed anyways.

June 22: Stargate Features: Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich will likely be passing on the Independence Day sequel and return to the 'Stargate Franchise'. MGM has been talking about it for at least a year now, and Devlin told Cinescape magazine that they are ready to make a Stargate 2 and 3.  A slight rift formed between them and MGM after the first film. MGM went to the series and Devlin/Emmerich wanted another film. MGM would like to bring the series actors to the big screen while Devlin it appears would like to see Kurt Russell and James Spader make the trip back to the sequels.

June 21: Scooby On the Run: Warner Brothers is fast-tracking it Scooby Doo sequel. Production looks to be starting in early 2003 with a 2004 release date. James Gunn will write the sequel and Raja Gosnell will direct.

June 21: 80 Days With Chan: Jackie Chan will star in a new adaptation of the classic Jules Verne tale 'Around the World in 80 Days'. The story will shift focus to Passepartout, played by Chan, who steal a jade Buddha and seeks refuge with Fogg. No one has been signed on to play the part of Fogg just yet. (variety)

June 21: Dog Soldiers: The SFC will re-air its 'Dog Soldiers' original film on June 29th at 7pm and July 11th at 9pm. Apparently the SFC received a deluge of requests for 'Dog Soldiers' to air again. The telefilm earned a 1.9 rating for it's original airing. (Babylon 5 repeats usually earn that)

June 21: Witchblade: TNT will be running a marathon of the second season on 'August 25th'. (dark horizons)

June 21: Back to the Future DVD: A loose December 17th 2002 date in the U.S. has been set for the Back to the Future trilogy on DVD. (BTTF.com)

June 21: Who Was Batman?: While we will only see Batman from the back in 'Birds of Prey' - the new series to air this fall on the WB - don't you wonder who it is? Batman is played by the same guy from the Batman Onstar Commercials. His name is Bruce Thomas.

June 21: Extraordinary Gentlemen: La Femme Nakita star Peta Wilson will join the cast of 'the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' as Mina Harker, the female lead.

June 21: Perlman Praised: AICN and Filmjerk.com have both been privy to a rough cut of 'Star Trek: Nemesis'. While both reviews are mixed,  Ron Perlman's (Beauty and the Beast, Blade II, Alien Resurrection) performance seems to stand out in the film. Here is an blurp about Perlman from Facers review posted at Section31.com... "The standout performance, if there is one, is Ron Perlman as the Reman Viceroy, Shinzon's assistant. Under some pretty neat makeup (not nearly as good as it should have been, but what the hey), Perlman exudes menace and psychosexual creepiosity (yeah, I made that up) that really spices up the screen when he's on. I was surprised at this role, which in the script didn't really come out as all that spectacular. Perlman, no newbie to acting underneath makeup from his Beauty & The Beast days, kicks ass in this one, and it's a mental asskicking. He manages to succeed where F. Murray Abraham failed as the equally-latexed villain in Star Trek: Insurrection."

June 18: Update: I apologize for the lack of site updates the past two days. Laptop hard drive took a dump on me and I have been attempting to repair the damage. Using the desktop right now as the laptop is still down, but nearly back up at 100%.

June 18: Scooby 2004: They haven't gotten the green light just yet, but things are moving forward and producer Charles Roven is looking at a 2004 release  date.

June 18: Forge of Steel: The Greg Bear sci-fi novel 'Forge of Steel' has been picked up by Warner Bros. as a feature film project. WB hope to make it a franchise (that means a trilogy these days) which  includes Bear's other novels 'Anvil of Stars', and the third novel which he hasn't finished writing yet. Ken Nolan, who scripted Black Hawk Down, will take a crack at script the novel. (variety)

June 18: Neill Out: Sam Neill says he has never been approached about the roll of Dr. Octopus in the upcoming Spiderman sequel to begin filming in January. (moviehole.net

June 18: X-Men 2: Production has began in Canada this week. Brian Cox (bourne identity) has joined the cast in the lead villain role as Stryker. Other new additions in the film include Alan Cummings as 'Nightcrawler'; Shawn Ashmore as 'Iceman' (wasn't Val Kilmer 'iceman'?); Aaron Stanford is 'Pyro'; and Kelly Hu as Strykers assistant. (scifi wire)

June 18: Spielberg vs Lucas: The is a small argument going on between writer/director George Lucas (who will produce IJ4) and Steven Spielberg (who'll direct IF4) as which media will be used to film the fourth and final installment of Indiana Jones 4. Lucas wants the project done digitally and Spielberg does not favor the digital format over film. They might was well shoot the sucker in both formats and see which one looks the best when done.

June 18: Jones, Henry Jones: Sean Connery is officially back to play the father of 'Indiana Jones' in the 2005 film. Henry Jones is back in the building.

June 16: Stargate SG-1: The season two 5 disc boxed-set will hit retailers September 3 at an SRP of $69.96. Amazon.com has it available to order now at $52.47. This is the region 1 set for Canada and the United States. Season will be in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby Digital 2.0. (thanks to M.C. who pointed me to Amazon)

June 16: Like Hell: Pathe Distribution and FilmFour have obtained the UK distribution rights to the Jeepers Creepers sequel titled 'Like Hell: Jeepers Creepers 2'. The first film made just over $50M here in the states and another $10M in Europe. (hollywood reporter)

June 16: He-man: With the return of 'He-man and the masters of the Universe' cartoon comes new toys. Nothing new. MV Creations has been granted a one-year non-exclusive contract to create He-man books, posters, lithographs, wall calendars, and wall scrolls.

June 16: Scooby Snacks: Scooby hit the jackpot this opening weekend, taking in $56M for the best June opening of all time. The openings of 'Windtalkers', 'the Bourne Identity', and 'Scooby' knocked Star Wars and Spiderman out of the top five finally.  Bourne Identity opened with nearly $28M, and Windtalkers from John Woo took in $14.5M.

June 16: Spiderman Banned: The British film regulators, as fucked up as the American version, have banned anyone under the age of twelve from seeing the film. That includes with or without parents. What a load of shit! These same kids can watch the violence of the every day world on the new channels but they can't see staged violence on the big screen between superheroes and super villains. Sure... ok.

June 16: Marvel For Sale: According to Superherohype.com, Marvel Comics became available just before 'Spiderman' hit theaters.  Sony would seem like the best fit for the comic company, but that might not happen. Other companies wanting the pie are Walt Disney (they would ruin Marvel), Hasbro, Mattel, AOL Time Warner (they own DC Comics), Viacom, Universal, News Corp., and Saban.     AOL Time Warner has done nothing with moving DC Comic book characters to the big screen. Sony, Universal, and Viacom could own the whole lot and be able to the cross-overs like the comics book has.  With what they cost today, the world of comic books could be a dying breed.

June 16: Lucas Splits THX: Lucasfilm Ltd. has split off its THX branch to become just a part owner in the company. Lucas has allowed several other private investors to come onboard. (force.net)

June 16: SFX School: Director Ridley Scott is looking at opening a Special Effects school in Europe in the near future.       I guess this is to much to expect from someone like 'George Lucas' or 'Stan Winston' her in the States.

June 16: Gone But Not Forgotten: We lost 17 series in 2002. The Tick, Dark Angel, Invisible Man, Special Unit 2, VIP, Beastmaster, Relic Hunter, Roswell, X-Files, Glory Days, Dead Last, L.E.X.X., EFC, Outer Limits, the Chronicles, the Immortal, Wolf Lake and Sheena. If you have a site dedicated to a departed series, and plan to stop maintaining the website please think about donating the site to scifi2k.com. The site would be added to the ones already here. We don't want these series and its stars forgotten.

June 16: Genre Returning: Who can we look forward to from last year in the genre catagory? Farscape (already airing), Stargate SG-1 (already airing), Buffy, Enterprise, Smallville, Charmed, Mutant X, Andromeda, Alias (pushing the genre envelope), Angel, Sabrina, Witchblade (TNT june 16th) and 'the Lost World.

June 15: xXx 2: Revolution Head 'Joe Roth' only had to see 45 minutes of assembled footage of xXx before greenlighting the sequel. Screenwriter Rich Wilkes, who wrote the first one, hasn't gotten started on the second installment yet. More movie information in "MOVIE MANIA".

June 15: Invisible Man: Fans of Sci-Fi's popular original series, The Invisible Man, have banded together to create a virtual third season for the Saturn Award-nominated series. A group of over 40 fans will author, edit, and produce a total of 23 original "episodes," which will then "air" on the group's website at www.geocities.com/invisiblemanvs. The first episode's "air" date is scheduled for July 12, 2002. enthusiasts looking to actively participate in the creation of the Virtual Season can join the egroup at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Iman_Virtual_3/. (thanks to Caroline Hey & Molly Duke)

June 15: Blade II DVD: Fans looking forward to the Blade II DVD will be happy to learn that the two disc set will be loaded. It includes the original theatrical press kit, deleted and alternate scenes and a gag reel. It is scheduled to hit retailers August 3rd.

June 15: Reign of Fire: Just took a watch at trailer for the new film due out July 12th. Reign of Fire starring Mathew McConaughey, Christian Bale, Gerard Butler and Izabella Scorupco looked outstanding. Technology meets Fantasy as modern man makes his stand against the dragons of mythology. The battle is on, and it begins July 12th. I'll go see this one.

June 15: The Shining Mini-Series: Fans won't have to pay over $60 for VHS copies of one of the most sought after Stephen King mini-series anymore. Sometime in early 2003 Warner Brothers will give fans the Steven Weber, 'the Shining', mini-series on DVD with commentary by the King himself. (thedigitalbits.com)

June 15: Scooby DVD Screwed: Fans wanting the cut kiss of Velma and Daphne or the other little scenes hinting that Velma is gay will NOT be released on the DVD cut of the film 'due to worry over inclusion of PG-13 scenes on a PG disc which would frighten off 'family consumers'. Scribe James Gunn isn't happy about it either. Maybe a later special edition or directors cut of the film will happen.

June 14: VIP RIP: Pamela Anderson is officially out of work again as her tit and ass series 'VIP' is finally put to rest. Amazingly the series ran for four seasons averaging 2.0 during this season, down 20% from previous seasons. Columbia Tri-Star Domestic Television co-production partner 'Kirch Group' has financial problems and cannot afford to continue financing the series with poor ratings. Anderson issued her own statement about the cancellation but that is unimportant.

June 14: Sci-Fi Fonts trouble: There is a website actually stealing my fonts website linking to images and fonts directing from scifi2k.com. The area will likely be coming down temporarily and then going back up in a new area of the site. I do apologize for this when it happens. But it will likely only be temporary. Thanks for any patience needed.

June 14: Daredevil: Ben Affleck told the USA Today that 'Daredevil' will be a much smaller and darker film than what fans were treated to in Spiderman. Says Affleck of the character, "Daredevil is more complex, more human than most superheroes. He's blind and has tragic love affairs. As an actor, that kind of role appeals to you." More movie information in "MOVIE MANIA".

June 13: Why the DVD Wait For Series?: Brian Ford Sullivan of 'theFutonCritic.com' website has written a great article explaining why fans have to wait at least five years for their favorite series to hit DVD. CLICK HERE to read the article. It is something TV Series fans want to know.

June 13: ID4 - 2: If there is a sequel to the hit feature 'Independence Day' by Rolland Emmerich and Dean Devlin it is news to Will Smith. He tells Clint over at Moviehole.net that there is ZERO chance of an Independence Day sequel.

June 13: Shatner's Full Moon: This was to be a syndicated series over a year ago, but now will come to the Sci-Fi Channel beginning July 20th.  Full Moon Universe, creators of Trancers and Puppet Master, is pitching a new television series hosted by Star Trek's William Shatner. The series will be titled... William Shatner's Full Moon Fright Night. Shatner is already signed on to the project.  This one folks is a cheap piece of programming. It will feature 13 'B' movies from the vaults of 'Fulll Moon Pictures'. This is a CHEAP alternative for the SFC to get some... original programming. Remember too, the gratuitous nude scenes from the Full Moon productions will be cut, sliced, as well as diced. (thanks to scott strout)

June 13: Jurassic Park IV: Stephen Spielberg told Starlog Magazine that he has pretty much decided to do a JP4 (as a producer again) and will offer the directing gig to 'Joe Johnston' (who directed JP3) before talking to anyone else. The story he says is already done, and Spielberg thinks its the best story since the first film.

June 13: Ben Affleck: This guy has got to be the busiest man in Hollywood. His movies are hit or miss, and he has yet to become the big draw money wise - yunno, the $10M to $20M guys. But he isn't short on work. I guess you get more work when you don't cost a third of the production budget. He is working on Daredevil, has 'the Sum of all Fears' number one at the box office and has Gigli releasing next year with Jennifer Lopez. Affleck has also just signed on to star with J.Lo in Kevin Smith's 'Jersey Girl'. The guy is a party hound and has a drinking problem. How long can the guy keep going at this pace?

June 13: Babylon In a Box: Warner Bros. is doing the series right and releasing the first season in a boxed set. Sales of the DVD two telefilm movies 'In the Beginning' and 'the Gathering' were good enough to show Warner it would be a good investment. Look for season one this fall. Price?  Good question. Could be in the $100 price range or higher. Sam's Club and/or Costco could get the set for under $90.

June 13: Superman 5: Courtney Cox, of Friends, told radio station 94.9 ZHT that she wants the role of Lois Lane in Mc G's upcoming version of Superman. Casting has not begun yet, but Brendan Frasier has been mentioned to play 'Superman'. (Superherohype.com)

June 12: Beastmaster Official: Scifi2k reported several months ago that 'Beastmaster' had been canceled. but now comes official word that the series is done.  Tribune Entertainment reports that fans will see all three seasons of the series in repeats next year.

June 11: Supergirl: Warner Bros. is planning to revisit 'Supergirl' to the big screen. They will place 'Akiva Goldsman' at the helm. Akiva also helmed Batman & Robin as well as Batman Forever for Warner. (Moviehole from Filmjerk.com)

June 11: Farscape dumb-quote: Cinescape online today called 'Farscape' one of the Sci-Fi Channel's best series. Damn! They only have two original series in 'Farscape' and 'Stargate SG-1'. Kinda hard NOT to be ONE OF THE BEST series on the network isn't it?

June 11: Witchblade: Only five more days to the premiere of the season two  of 'Witchblade' starring Yancy Butler on TNT. June 16th @ 8pm with two-hour season premiere... One more episode to follow June 17 in its regular timeslot.

June 11: DVD Players: From 2000 to 2001 the number of DVD players in households has doubled and is expected to continue through 2002.

June 11: Rush Hour 3 & 4: Brett Ratner told Cinescape online that he wants Rush Hour 3 in theaters by 2004. He would love to do Rush Hour 3 & 4 back to back. The Rush Hour franchise stars 'Jackie Chan' and 'Chris Tucker'.

June 11: Pirates of the Caribbean: Word comes from Cinescape online that Jerry Bruckheimer might be looking to Johnny Depp to star in the feature film based on the Disney ride 'Pirates of the Caribbean. The film is slated to begin production in August under the directing banner of Gore Verbinski.

June 11: Tomb Raider 2: According to filmjerk.com Production is slated to begin August 26th in Greece under the helm of Jan DeBont, who apparently has not left the project.

June 11: Firefly: It is still unclear whether the first pilot will air or the second pilot. The first pilot is an origin piece that's drama with action in it. Fox wants and action series with some drama. Fox also feels that the series doesn't need an origin episode and Whedon disagrees. If this series is going to work, both Whedon and Fox had better get on the same page. Otherwise this could be the next 'Crusade' series that got canceled before it ever aired.

June 10: X-Men 2: Katie Stuart has landed the role of Kitty Pryde in the sequel. Sumela Kay played the part in the first one. (dark horizons)

June 10: Samurai Jack: Todd Alcott will pen the script for the new live action film based on the animated series. (hollywood reporter)

June 10: He-man Returns: Fans of the cartoon 'He-man and the Masters of the Universe' will be happy Friday, August 16th when it fights his way onto the Cartoon Network. It opens with a 90 minute movie premiere telling how Prince Adam became He-Man. He-Man and Skeletor made their original debut in 1983

June 10: Gellar Done With Buffy: Sarah Michelle Gellar let everyone know that she isn't interested in a Buffy return to the big screen. Now Gellar will not be lending her voice over to the new animated series for 'Buffy, the Vampire Slayer.' She says she has nothing to do with the animated series and doesn't know who will be doing the voice.

June 10: Stargate SG-1: Richard Dean Anderson, the... star of Stargate SG-1, was on 'Regis and Kelly' this past Friday to let fans know that the series was on the SFC. The most interesting comment seems to be that Anderson says he is tired of doing the series and television, period. (thanks to Molly) And believe me, after just the first episode of season six you could tell. I use to like Anderson when he wasn't so full of himself doing the series MacGyver. A feature film actor he... ain't.

June 10: NYPD Blue:  28 year old Mark Paul Gosselaar (Saved by the Bell & TBS's Atomic Twister), the latest to star as Dennis Franz's partner, told TV Guide that he would have to be dragged off in hand cuffs before he'd bolt from the NYPD Blue series. The actor seems a rare commodity in Hollywood today - someone appreciative of being part of a successful series.

June 10: Spiderman Turns Five: With its $10M take this weekend, Sam Raimi's 'Spiderman' is not the number 5 movie of all time in the United States passing 'Jurassic Park' at $357.1M. It has a slim chance of catching 'SW: Episode One' at $431M.

June 10: Atomic Twister: Phew! Should have called this telefilm Atomic Disaster. TBS should invest a few bucks on better script writers. Maybe some writers who can write dialogue and better character driven stories. We use to have telefilms with quality acting and storylines with low budget effects. Now we've lost the writing and have effects to rival many feature films. Atomic Twister is just one in a long, long, line of horrible original films from TBS, TNT, and USA. The only thing they seem able to do half-way decent is with the westerns.

June 9: Hines War with Cruise: Producer Susan Goforth (Chrome & War of the Worlds) of Pendragon Pictures has dropped a War Press Release concerning Timothy Hines War of the Worlds project and Tom's Cruises production with Paramount. Click the link above to read what Timothy Hines and Pendragon pictures has to say about it all.

June 9: New Chrome Image: Also received a new photo for the feature 'Chrome'  from the production crew. CLICK HERE  to download the image in a new browser. It's pretty big with several images.

June 9: Movie Mania: The Genre movies in Production area is back online and updated. Fans can keep track of what's up with their favorite films. Check out Movie Mania today.

June 9: Captain America: Marvel hasn't talked about it- Avi Arad has either. Now Freddy Prince Jr. told AICN that he wants to be Captain America. Hmmm, Brad Pitt or Freddy J.? Wow, that's easy, Mr. Pitt, would you sign here please. Sounds like Marvel might be dusting this one off really soon with the actors starting to talk about doing it.

June 9: Sleepless Knights: Guillermo Del Toro and book scribe Grant Morrisson have sold a film idea to Dreamworks titled 'Sleepless Knights'. A Time Machine experiment has gone awry (imagine that), leaving the planet trapped on Halloween eve. Soon ghosts and spirits realize they have free reign on the planet. A young boy is recruited into an elite ghostbusting squadron called... 'The Sleepless Knights'. (sounds like Ghostbusters and Monster Squad mixed together.)

June 9: Scooby Doo: The live action film is out and here is a review of a regular reader of scifi2k.com. While only 80 minutes in length the film moves at a quick pace and is good for a few laughs. The CGI of Scooby and other Creatures is very good, but hopefully any sequels will be done better. READ the Entire REVIEW.

June 9: Odyssey 5: The new Showtime series begins June 21 at 10pm as part of their sci-Friday. The new Sci-Fi series 'Odyssey 5' about 5 people who witness the end of the world by aliens, and get a chance to change things has gotten very little advertising from Showtime. The series starring 'Peter Weller' (Robocop, Buckaroo Banzai) will air with Jeremiah.

June 9: Hulk: Writer Peter David has been hired to write the novelization by Del Rey. David's most recent work was the novelization of the hit movie 'Spiderman'. (superhero hype)

June 9: Fantastic Four: Empire Australia Magazine spoke with Marvel's Avi Arad recently. He told mag that Fantastic Four was going to be one of the most action packed movie ever made. Arad also mentioned that actor George Clooney (Batman) would be the dream casting as Mr. Fantastic. (moviehole.net)

June 9: Stargate SG-1 Sucked: Anyone else find Richard Dean Anderson's character annoying in the opening episode? Anderson comes across as someone very tired of doing the series. He has allowed his character to be written as some wise cracking ignorant idiot savant. It was like watching some retard watching the end of the world come to pass.  Near the end of the episode he is asked for help and he replies... "I'm going to have some cake." Stargate SG-1 is done fans. Most of the acting came from the supporting cast rather than the stars of the show. Everyone went through their roles with little acting. Very disappointing.

June 9: Farscape: What a shame this series is embedded on the Sci-Fi Channel. It truly is a wonderfully original television series. The acting and storytelling are so wonderful that the incredible special effects are sometimes overlooked. The problem with the series is that only 2.5 million people get to see it each week.

June 8: 1000 Corpses: Sounds like the number of flops from Hollywood over the last few years, but it's actually Rob Zombie's forever in limbo 'House of 1000 Corpses'. The film was shot several years ago by Universal who decided not to release it. Now MGM has purchased the film and plans to release it in theaters. Reports are that Universal thought the film had just to much gore. The other side is more the usual that the film could really be a corpse.

June 8: Spiderman: The Amazing Spiderman has been just that this summer taking in over $358M and moving into the fifth all-time money maker, as well as 27th world wide. The only problem with these statistics is actual ticket prices are higher now than they use to be. Perhaps they should either adjust the originals to today's ticket prices or simply go by ticket sales. The current system really isn't an accurate way to keep statistics.

June 8: Raimi Out For 3: The Comics Continuum website is reporting that Sam Raimi will not be available for the third and final Spiderman film. It isn't from another feature he wants to do. It simply comes down to it 'being too exhausting'.

June 8: Dead Zone Axed: The new 'Dead Zone' series for the USA Network has had its order cut from a 22 episode order down to 13. If successful they could order the remaining back nine episodes or just order a second season of 13 episodes. This is a problem with original shows on TNT, TBS, USA or the SFC. You never get a normal season and normally they don't get a chance.

June 8: Pitch Black 2: Moviemafia.com.au has learned that production of the sequel will likely return to Australia. Director Twohy is extremely happy with the cost structure and the quality professionals down under. There is also a rumor that Twohy is already signed, and the Diesel may be on board for Pitch Black 3 & 4. If so, the two films could be filmed back to back.

June 8: Wolfed: Michael Jackson and special effects master Rick Baker are teaming up for Wolfed, in which Jackson will play... a werewolf. Baker worked the effects on Jackson's 'Thriller video'. Michael Jackson will play a man who makes a deal with the devil to kill anyone he wishes. The catch is... the more... devilish the deed the more wolf like he becomes.

June 7: Dead Zone: Got a hold of the pilot episode today from a friend. Anthony Michael Hall and the rest of the cast do an excellent job in the first episode. The new drama series looks to have some real quality elements and Hall performance is way above average. It is a series I will watch on USA Network.

June 7: Darksiders: This one will be writer 'David Goyers' second directorial feature after 'Zigzag'. It will follow in Blade's world. The story deals with creatures similar to the vampires of Blade. "It's about a group of people who get infected with a virus, which gives them a bloodlust, and it also makes them immune to every human ailment," Rosenzweig said. "The CIA use them as operatives." What will make these characters unique is how the film avoids vampire clichés. No fangs or sucking blood. They take a drug, which suppresses the desire. The film's conflict will come when they run out of medicine. Alison Rosenzweig will produce with her partner, Tracie Graham.

June 7: Pitch Black II: Things change and some things remain the same. David Twohy, who put together the sleeper hit Pitch Black together, will now helm the sequel to the film, 'The Chronicles of Riddick'.  Vin Diesel will return and take the lead role which made him famous. Sequel drafts were turned in by David Hayter, and Akiva Goldsmith, but the studio decided that Twohy's original draft was the best.

June 7: Alien vs Predator: AICN has story that producer John Davis (the last samaraii) and Fox finally have a story they like. Now, they just need a writer. John Davis also produced the feature 'Predator 2'. (which was a good action flick)

June 7: Wonder Twins: Remember the cartoon 'Superfriends'? Remember the Wonder Twins in that animated series too? Yunno, 'Wonder twin powers activate.' For some reason Warner Bros. and Gaylord Films have optioned the rights to the characters. They are planning a live action Scooby Doo style feature.

June 7: Doc Ock: Moviehole.net hit on a special  tidbit of news that might be nothing more than just rumor. But Sam Neill (Omen 3, Jurassic Park 1 & 3, Hunter For Red October) might be donning the multiple tentacles of Dr. Octopus in Spiderman. Previously 'Robin Willaims' name had been the front runner.

June 7: Angel: Charisma Carpenter looks to be coming back next season, according to her agent.  (dark horizons)

June 7: Here We Go Again: Universal will release the DVD version of 'ET' in theatrical release and its 20th anniversary edition for just 10 weeks. Then it will be pulled indefinitely. Who cares.

June 5: Area 23: Activity continues on the Area 23 project telefilm/series. Mindshadow Entertainment has announced that Jeff Varner (survivor 2, and Cannonball Run on USA Network) has joined the cast of 'Area 23' as Syd Dafoe, aka 'the Mixer'. Check out all the castings at Area23movie.com. (Will Crawford, Mindshadow Entertainment)

June 5: Buffy Feature Film?: Moviehole.net caught up with Sarah Michelle Gellar to talk about a possible Buffy feature film. Says Buffy to Paul Fischer, "You know, I don't (feel committed to a buffy movie). I'm not in to it, and I've got to be honest and say that I believe that, first of all, it was a movie, it didn't work as a film and we battled for so long, just getting out from underneath was essentially a failed feature film and I feel that with the beauty of the story, that the attachment you have and the ride that you take with these characters, and I feel like we make a movie every week. So to take one episode to expand, it's kind of a waste.

June 5: Witchblade: Yancy Butler has completed her rehab treatment for alcohol addiction. Production on her series could resume as early as June 10. The series premieres Monday, June 16th, with six of the 13 episodes in the can.

June 5: I-Man Auction: Would you like a chance to own Bobby Hobbes’ baseball cap (Legends, Bad Chi), or Claire’s blue lab coat, or....how about Darien Fawkes’ favorite tan leather jacket?  Then mark your calendars and save your pennies because they will be up for grabs when Perseus Project hosts the mid summer Invisible Man Charity Auction! Over 50 props and memorabilia from the beloved comic/scifi show will be on the block including copies of scripts, “tridimensional data viewers”, Bobby and Darien’s Agency files and work contracts,  I-Man caps, totes, and beach towels, vials of counteragent, and a famous defective gland. All  items were generously contributed by USA Cable Entertainment and by members of the cast and crew who designated St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, Make A Wish Foundation, and Habitat For Humanity as beneficiaries of the auction. The actual action date has yet to be released.

June 5: X-Men 2: Scorpion King co-star Kelly Hu has joined the cast of X-Men 2 as villainous Anne, the sidekick to Striker whose the lead villain.

June 4: Firefly Cover: Joss Whedon's new sci-fi series joins the fall line-up on Fox. If your planning to record the new series you might be interested in the new VHS Cover Sheet on the site for download. CLICK HERE for the VHS Page.

June 4: Bosley, Mac Bosley: Comedian Bernie Mac has been plugged to play the part of Bosley in the upcoming sequel. He will be a... relative of Bill Murray. Yeah, OK. Heaven forbid they pick up a serious actor for the part. Charlie's Angels 2 has a loose June 2003 release date. Subject to change, of course.

June 4: Rockford: You can't turn back the clock. The Rockford Files ended in 1980 and NBC did 8 television movies afterwards. Actor James Garner, who played Jim Rockford, told Paul Fisher that there is no way he will return to the role again. Says Garner, "As to whether or not we’ll see Garner reprise Jim Rockford any time soon, absolutely not, he says. “Look at it this way: I’m 74 years old. Who wants a 74-year-old detective unless he’s a bumbling idiot?” Fans will have to live with the 123 episodes, the pilot movie and 8 telefilms. Of course we always have Hollywood to bring us a feature film, with an all new young Jim Rockford.

June 4: Turtles Return: Last year sometime I mentioned that director John Woo would be doing a new 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle' flick. Woo finally mentioned the project to the Sci-Fi Wire. The project is still on, and Woo will be creating the turtles CGI rather than animatronic puppets as the first three films used. Woo will now produce the new feature film as well as a television series. Digital Rim and Mirage Studios will do the television series first and then the feature. The TMNT project has grossed over $1B worldwide. Pretty impressive for the 'Heroes In a Half-Shell'.

June 3: Young Blades: PAX is getting into the 'Smallville' style shows. PAX will take on the 'Three Musketeers' in their version as the show will focus on the dashing young male students of the Musketeer Academy, which includes a girl posing as a boy. The dashing young swordsman will take on the establishment as well as the evil society run by Cardinal Mazarin. The new series will be filmed in and around Paris. 'Young Blades' is from Studiocanal S.A.

June 3: Pitch Black Delay: Chronicles of Riddick, the sequel to Pitch Black, has been delayed. Production has moved from August to October. (darkhorizons.com)

June 3: UPN Scores: Mediaweek reported that for the 2001-2002 season UPN scored the highest growth in viewers of any television network. Their overall viewers were up by 11% and outperformed rival netling the WB in nearly every major ratings category. A major part of the networks success has been the performance of first year series 'Enterprise'. UPN is expected to meet strong projected sales by an increase of $75M. To bad the network won't pick up 'The Invisible Man' series from USA Studios.

June 3: The Sum is Not Star Wars: Episode 2 didn't stay in the top spot very long as Ben Affleck's turn at playing Jack Ryan leapt to the top spot this weekend taking in just over $31M. Episode 2 hit almost $21M ($232M total) while Spiderman held on to third with $14.5M ($354M total).

June 3: Alba Moves On: The Dark Angel star is moving on from her canceled TV series as she negotiates to star in Billy Woodruff's and Universal's 'Honey'. Alba will play a tough inner-city girl who becomes a famous choreographer that is threatened by a man she refuses to have sex with.

June 3: Alias Casting: Actress Lena Olin from 'Queen of the Damned' will join the cast of Alias for 16 episodes of  season two.

June 3: Spiderman turns 65: Turner networks TNT & TBS have turned in a whopping $65M for the network broadcast rights to the feature film for ten years, 'Spiderman'. Imagine what Star Wars Episode II is going to bring. NOTE: Fox will share in the Spiderman deal getting first dibs to air the feature two times in the first year,  with TNT & TBS getting it after that for a year or two and then Fox will get it back for two more airing within a year. TNT & TBS will get the feature for the remainder of the ten year deal.

June 3: I Dream of Jeannie: Yes, this television series too is coming to the big screen. It is currently bogged down in script rewrites and is alleged to star 'Halle Berry' and 'Will Smith'. I think we know which one would be in what role. (tv guide)

June 3: I Spy: Another series turned movie comes to theaters in November with I Spy. It will star Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson. Has the potential to be a great flick, but we know what Hollywood can do with an idea...

June 3: Blade 3: Comics2Film has learned that David Goyer is working on the Blade 3 script. His idea of the Planet of Vampires idea has been modified somewhat but he is excited about it. There is still no word on a director for the project as yet. It might be possible Goyer could step behind the camera.

June 3: Ghost Rider: David Goyer is no longer the executive producer for the film since Sony has acquired the rights. Goyers script though will be a starting point for Shaft scribe Shane Solerno to do his rewrite.

June 3: Marvel Toons Return: ABC has stepped up to the plate and will air almost every Marvel cartoon from the 80's and 90's. This list includes... 'Spiderman' (1967), 'Spiderman and his Amazing Friends (includes Firestar and Iceman)', 'Spiderman Unlimited', and the 'Incredible Hulk (which aired on UPN). ABC is already airing the X-Men and Spiderman from the 90's. (toonzone.com)

June 2: Dungeon Dan Chat Challenge: This just came in from the PERSEUS PROJECT. All I-Man fans should take note...  Dungeon Dan issued a challenge at last night's I-man chat: find the make up blooper on "50" year old Darien in "Impetus" before next Friday's chat. Send your guess to mail@perseusproject.com by noon Friday, June 7th. Put "DD Impetus Challenge" in the subject line. We will forward all guesses to Dan who will put the names of all those with correct answers into a hat. He will draw the winning name at next Friday's I-Man chat! The winner will receive a copy of the "Impetus" script! You do not have to be there to win but we sure hope you will come anyway!

June 2: Bruce Campbell: Fan Fav Bruce Campbell will be heading out on tour for his new book 'If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor'. Before that Campbell is being sought after to direct a few episodes of Charmed next season, as well as possibly helming an episode or two of Kevin Sorbo's series 'Andromeda'. Both gigs are up in the air, but hopefully it will get done. (zap2it.com)

June 2: Young Arthur: Fans hoping to see the new Smallville style 'King Arthur's Camelot' series 'Young Arthur' will have to wait a while with NBC not picking it up. The series though is still alive and NBC still has plans for the series. It could be used as a mid-season replacement.

June 2: Devil's Pass: This Sci-Fi Channel telefilm is currently in production in Toronto and scheduled to premiere in the fall on the USA network owned channel. The telefilm will star 'Bruce Campbell' (brisco county, Jack of all Trades) and Deep Space Nine's dabo girl Chase Masterson. Campbell says 'Dark Pass' is a cross between 'the Thing' meets 'High Sierra'. Campbell plays a criminal being transported during a snowstorm and ends up trapped at a small isolated airport that being attacked by aliens.

June 2: A Chronicle Move: Rena Sofer, who was the co-star of the Sci-Fi Channel's short-lived (most shows are on that network) series 'the Chronicle is moving into mainstream television this fall. Sofer will join the cast of the hit comedy series 'Just Shoot Me' for it seventh season. She will play a style maven who becomes Jack's confidante.

June 2: 12 Hour Witching Hour: NBC has officially picked up the rights now, to Anne Rice's trilogy 'The Witching Hour'. They will turn said trilogy into a 12-hour limited series.

June 1: Roberts Final Bid: In the end Julia Roberts cameraman cheating beau from Oceans 11 cost her $500,000. Dan Moder's divorce from Vera Steinberg of four years is finally complete. Steinberg, the ex, gets to keep everything plus the $500,000. For Julia Roberts getting a man is like going to the pound and buying a dog. How much is that little cheatin' beau in the window? It now clears the couple to walk down the isle. At least until Roberts does another movie and finds another cameraman.

June 1: Hensen Steps Down: In order to do more directing and producing gigs, Brian Hensen is stepping down as chairman of the Jim Hensen Co. after 12 years at the helm of his late fathers company.

June 1: Scifi2k.com Stats: Wow!!! 356GB worth of data transferred from Scifi2k.com in MAY. Impressive as hell. Expensive, but impressive folks. Thank you for another banner month for the site.
