'I am Legend' and 'Sgt. Rock'.

episodes for 'the Wire'.
Oct
25: The Lost World: The Lost
World is on the brink of becoming the lost series. The series fought
for funding last year and made a quality third season. Now the series
is fighting for season 4, as negotiations for the previous 66 episodes
puts a kink in the production schedule of season four. Funding is
there, production is ready to go, and the suits sit and bicker over
old episodes that will be worth nothing if the series doesn't make it
through a fifth season. This is another show by production companies
that nothing matters but money in the hand right this minute.
Oct
25: Monk Moving Again: ABC is
moving USA Networks Monk to Mondays at 8pm in November. Last week

was doing when it got axed by the network. (Scott Strout)
Oct
25: Taken By BBC: The BBC has
won the rights to air the Sci-Fi Channel's 20 hour mini-series 'Taken'

televisions in Europe come January 2003.
Oct
25: Bonding With TNN Uncut:
The TNN network will air a shitload of Bond films UNCUT, from November
27th to Dec 1. Fans will see 54 hours of 007 making out with women and
kicking the shit out of the bad guys. That's 18 bond films, including
the rarely talked about or shown 'On Her Majesties Secret
Service'.
Oct
25: Enterprise Blowing Chunks:
That chunks of its audience folks. From last years totals Enterprise
has lost 48% of its audience in the 18 to 49 demographic. This is NOT
a good thing. The series is boring and dull. Not the fresh new look
that Paramount demanded. Enterprise is as lacking as the new series
Firefly.
Oct
25: Wolverine To Go Solo:
Cinema Confidential has learned that Fox has no plans for the X-Men
beyond the upcoming sequel. All the actors were signed to a
two-picture deal and doing a third or forth film would be astronomical
in budget. However they are planning stuff using the individual
characters from the X-Men, especially 'Wolverine'.
Oct

adding a Marvel Comics character to its line-up. It has ordered a new

series 'Gun'.
Oct
23: ARLI$$ to Exit: HBO is
calling it quits with ARLI$$ after seven seasons. This comes on the
heels of ARLISS earning it highest ratings ever during it seventh
season. They just decided it's time to call it quits. A stupid
decision by HBO.
Oct
23: Day Signs Ward: Sela Ward
has signed on to costar with Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal in
Roland Emmerich's 'Day After Tomorrow'.
Oct
23: Firefly: It is unknown if
the series will make it to episode 11 before the axe falls, but Josh
Whedon will be directing the episode which begins production the week
of November 4th... Fans can expect the axe to fall soon. (Ron Wolfe)
The ratings for the series have been worse than Dark Angel when it got
the axe, but does cost less to produce that DA.
Oct
23: Rush Hour 3: Brett Ratner
told Moviehole.net that he'll likely start on Rush Hour 3 after
Superman. He is currently working on the script for it. The Superman
script is nearly finished and Ratner is currently working on casting,
crewing up and putting it all together.
Oct

Carry, Douglas Roberts, Carmine Giovinazzo, and Steven Schirripa.
Oct

Feldman looks to a have a bit part in the upcoming film, returning as
a grown-up Tommy from his Friday the 13th role as a young kid.
Oct
21: Star Trek Animated: Fans

very low on their priority list.
Oct

fresh new Werewolf VCD/DVD set has been uploaded to the site with the

on Fox and then on USA network. It disappeared from the airwaves and

the Sci-Fi Channel. The series starred John J. York, Chuck Connors,
Lance LeGault, and Brian Thompson. Special Effects were handled by
none other than a young Rick Baker.
Oct
20: Birds Drop Off: The second
episode of Birds of Prey on the WB suffered a significant drop off in
the ratings. The episode hit a 4.9/7 rating, which is outstanding, but
still number four in the 9pm timeslot. BOP has already been given a
full season commitment by the WB.

twists, becomes the sheriff of El Paso, Texas at the turn of the 20th
Century. Jesus Garcia is in negotiations to play Jones' best friend El

composer is still a hard working man, and most sought after for big
time feature films. He has scheduled Harry Potter 3, The final Star
Wars film, Indiana Jones 4 and now Jurassic Park 4.
Oct
18: Buffy Trouble: UPN may not
have to worry about whether or not Buffy needs an 8th season. Fans are
letting the network know that 7 is more than enough with a 1.7 rating
for last weeks episode.
Oct
18: John Doe: The man who
knows everything except who he is, doesn't know how long he'll be
around for Fox. The series scored a 6.0 rating last week, two points
higher than its highly expectant lead in 'Firefly'. But is the rating
high enough to stick around for all of this season or next? Shows like
'the Pretender', 'the Others', and 'the Profiler' had ratings in the
mid 6's when they were given their walking papers. Firefly is doomed
for sure, but Mr. Doe is one of the new series that will balancing on
the bubble if it makes it through a full first season.
Oct
18: Twilight Zone: Fans of
UPN's new Twilight Zone can likely expect the series to hang around
for a full season. The series which scored a 2.9 rating for last weeks
episode. It's lead in series, 'Enterprise', hit a 3.2 rating with TZ
taking keeping enough viewers to keep the series around for the rest
of this season. It also beat Smallville, who pulled in a 2.8.
Oct
17: James Bond Turns Barbie:
Mattel has announced a $75 set to celebrate the 40th anniversary of
James Bond. Ken will be dressed as Bond and Barbie as a bond
girl.
Oct
17: Cops 2069: NYPD Blue
creator Steven Bochco has chosen Gary Hoblit to direct his future cop
show pilot movie. Hoblit also directed the pilot for NYPD Blue. The
series pilot/series centers around a Gotham police officer that is
somehow sent to New York City in 2069. The new series will be
character driven and not all the futuristic technology. Hoblit has
been asked, schedule permitting, to stay with the project beyond the
pilot telefilm.
Oct
17: Young MacGyver: The WB
know how to milk an idea. First was Smallville with the young
Superman. Now the WB will team-up with producers Henry Winkler (the
fonz), Stephen Downing and John Rich for a 'Young MacGyver' series.
MacGyver is recruited by the Phoenix Foundation to be a combatant
against evil. Casting is already underway for the young MacGyver.
Oct
17: Firefly: With the series
doing so poorly in the ratings the Sci-Fi Channel may not make it to
their re-airing of the series in January when new episodes of Farscape
and Stargate SG-1 are set to air
Oct
16: Zeta Jones 2: Actress and
wife of Michael Douglas 58, Catherine Zeta Jones 33 is knocked up again
with the couples second child.
Oct
16: NYPD gets 11: ABC has
renewed NYPD Blue for its 11th season. The show has won its 18 to 49
demographic through the first three weeks of broadcasting this season,
and ABC is one happy camper. NYPD is beating down it competition over
at NBC by 18%. The series has received 82 Emmy nominations in nine
years and gotten 19 wins. Steven Bochco believes that the series has
many years of great story telling left in it.
Oct
15: Enterprise: Despite some
good first season ratings Paramount execs were not happy with the
first season of Enterprise, and may want to really bring in some fresh
blood (Gee I said this before the series ever premiered) and dump the
two morons producers, Brannon & Braga. Unfortunately they aren't
looking to replace them until the fourth season, moving them to the
new series 6. If it happens it is also to be produced by Jonathan Frakes.
Enterprise would replace the producers of Enterprise with a person or persons not
involved in Star Trek. Jeez, Paramount should dump Rick Berman as
well.
Oct
15: Trek Series 6: Once
again the rumor of a new Star Trek series surfaces in the light of
Star Trek: Nemesis. The series idea - Captained by a familiar
face. Nope, it's not Sulu - but the familiar face of number one,
William Riker, accompanied by Troi and a new Federation Starship. Here
is the RUMORED storyline for Series 6: The series 'Enterprise' will
parallel the formation of the Federation with Series 6's fall of the
Federation, in which the UFP will lose over half its territories to a
new, completely alien foe that Future Guy works for. The
Titan/Mariner, an untested ship, will be in charge of making sure
established threats (like the Remans, Borg, and Dominion) don't cause
any trouble. One bad point to the new idea is that if Brannon and
Braga get the boot from Enterprise after season four they will become
producers of this series along with Frakes. The new series would not
premiere until after or during season four of Enterprise. Paramount is
already in development of the series and has an in-house FX crew
touching up the ship created by Digital Domain. (Scott Strout &
the Facer)

film worldwide and has the second film slated for a 2004 release. Now

third feature film. (variety)
Oct
15:
Jolie
Bitten:
Angelina Jolie is attached to star in the film 'Bitten', based on the
Kelley Armstrong supernatural novel. Jolie will play a female
werewolf. Warner Bros. has optioned the film rights. Storyline: a
woman who turns into a werewolf after she gets bitten and lives among
a clandestine wolf pack in Canada. She finally decides to suppress her
animalistic tendencies for a normal human life, becomes a journalist
and falls in love, but is drawn back to her pack when a rogue band of
werewolves begins drafting criminals into its pack. (scifi wire)
Oct
15:
Kill Superman:
Fans have started a petition to kill the proposed Superman trilogy by
Warner Bros. After the script scare recently fans don't their Superman
fucked up. The second draft was more screwed up than the first...
major changes made, especially to Luther’s character and place of
origin. Fans are still concerned that the push to make a mega
battle, martial arts, Star Wars type trilogy will still create
major deviations from the foundation of the Superman story. If you
want to sign the petition and help save the Super Guy CLICK
HERE. Imagine Jennifer Lopez or Catherine Zeta Jones playing Lois
Lane. And those are two names being mentioned. Give me a break!
Production on the film, directed by Brett Ratner, is slated to begin
in May of 2003. Pre-Production gets underway in Dec.

14: Jurassic Park 4: Coming
Soon is reporting that JP4 has been given the green light and Sam Neil
will be returning for a third time to the franchise. The feature is
already in pre-production. Neil is unsure how large of a role he will
have in the film, but Spielberg did talk to him brief laying out the
storyline. He isn't signed on yet, but it is likely to happen. (moviehole.net)
Oct
14: ID4-2: Looks like Dean
Devlin and Roland Emmerich are serious about returning to the land of
Independence Day with their new storyline. Entertainment Weekly has
news that both Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum have been approached
about returning for the sequel. Both are interested and listening.
Don't expect to see Will Smith return though. He has expressed little
interest in returning and at $20M+ per film he's a bit to expensive.
Oct
14: Starman: Another DC comic
book character looks headed to the small screen, but not for the WB.
ABC is trying to learn from the WB with Starman. Starman will be
produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions, which also produce 'Birds of
Prey' and 'Smallville'. ABC has ordered a pilot script and if it
becomes a series it will closely follow the comic book.
Oct
14: Ultimate Collectible: If
your a movie fan, comic fan, or just plain collector... this
collectible is it. Imagine having one of the 3000 life size replicas
of Spiderman that were trapped at sea. These were created just for
Blockbuster and have finally arrived. These life size Spidermen were
hand-crafted, using 70 pounds of rubber, plaster, fabric and steel.
Expect to see them by mid-November. Imagine what these will be selling
for after the promotion?
Oct
13: 1.6M in Comics: Nicolas
Cage just got a bit richer by selling his comic collection. In auction
his 400 piece comic book collection sold for $1.6M, with many comics
selling for more than their estimated value.
Oct
13: Lost Ratings for A&E: The
four-hour mini-series 'the Lost World' also lost in the ratings
despite heavy visual effects. Part of the problem might have been the
lack of action and the use of old timers like Peter Falk and Bob
Hoskins rather than mixing some young bloods in the mix. I watch the
show for about half an hour and nearly fell to sleep. BORING... How
many times are you going to remake the same damn movie? Why didn't
they spend the money on something like... 'The Dragon Riders of Pern'
novels for television. Hell, two networks have already screwed the
pooch on this one.
Oct
12: Adventures Inc.: Finally
got to catch the new Michael Biehn genre series 'Adventures Inc.'
Regardless of whether or not this series is good, bad or outstanding
it pretty much has NO chance of a second season. The simple fact that
there is no advertising for it is a true killer. But, have no fear -
the show is NOT very good. The creative writing is sub-standard and
the acting is a stinker. If you enjoyed Relic Hunter, you might enjoy
this one.
Oct

covers and CDR Label.
Oct
12: Ren & Stimpy Returning:
TNT is resurrecting 'Ren & Stimpy' with new episodes for the
summer of 2003 for TNN. Creator John Kricfalusi is very happy that the
new series is being programmed in the adult viewer block. For
Kricfalusi it's about creative expression and his right to be crude,
rude and ultimately entertaining. Now we just need Beavis and Butthead
with them.
Oct
12: Haunted Mansion: Eddie
Murphy will have funny voiced Jennifer Tilly. Tilly will play the
fortune teller who lives in the chrystal ball. The feature is based on
the classic Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland.
Oct
12: Seaquest: New VideoCD/DVD
covers have joined the site today for download. Enjoy... Other missing
pieces have been added to the section to complete VCD
sets.
Oct
11: Die Hard 4 in Work: Bruce
Willis looks to have learned that while he is much better actor than
Stallone and the Schwartz, his best area is action. But the truth is
that in order for Revolution Pictures to use the Title 'Man of War',
which Fox owns, on Willis latest flick - the 47 year old actor had to
commit to the Die Hard 4 picture he is already under contract to do.
Ok, so Bruce isn't that smart, fans at least will get to finally have
another Die Hard film. DH4 will surely be the final one in the
series.
Oct
11: C.S.I.: The third year
series scored its highest rating yet Thursday night with over 21.6M
viewers and a 19.4/29 rating. Crime Scene Investigation is now the top
rated, and most watched program of the 2002/2003 season.
Oct
11: Birds Soar: The WB 70
minute premiere of Birds of Prey scored an impressive 5.0 rating for
the frog network on Wednesday night. The show more than doubled last
season timeslot premiere of Felicity.
Oct
11: Aliens Canceled: The
demise of the Alien franchise continues. EA (Electronic Arts) has
canceled its proposed 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' video game based on
James Cameron's Aliens feature. The game had been put on hold in June,
but now EA tells Gamespot that there are no plans to revive the
project in the future.
Oct
11: I-Man: The
Sci-Fi Channel's original series has joined the SciFi2k.com in the
VideoCD department, with new covers. Enjoy.
Oct
10: 80 Days of Gadgets:
Director Frank Coraci's version of Jules Verne's 'Around the World in
80 Days' will include Sci-Fi Themes as well as gadgetry as the
original story does. Phileas Phogg will be an inventor rather than
wealthy Englishman. Jackie Chan is already signed on as Passepartout.
Other roles are not cast, and production begins January 2003 with a
Christmas 2003 release being eyed. (scifi wire)
Oct
10: Akira goes Live Action:
Akira is a fan favorite anime and will now be turned live action by
Warner Bros. and director Stephen Norrington (blade). Norrington will
work with scribe James Robinson. Jon Peters will join Warner Bros. in
producing the feature film.
Oct
10: Chronicles In Pre-Production:
David Twohy tells JoBlo.com that the trilogy sequels to Pitch Black is
currently in pre-production status. While the first film was a
sci-fi/horror film, the Chonicles of Riddick will be action/adventure/scifi.
The films will follow Riddick through multiple word meeting multiple
adversaries. Unfortunately there is now room in Australia for the
production, but they are already booked for Vancouver, Canada. (dark
horizons)
Oct
10: Smallville Casting: Patrick
Cassidy, son of Shirley Jones, will join the cast of Smallville in a
recurring role as Henry Small. (zap2it.com) Also making appearances in
the series this season is Jonathan Taylor Thomas (Home Improvement),
and The smoking Man, William B. Davis (X-Files).
Oct
10: Push, Then Gone: Push
Nevada and That Was Then have become the first official casualties of
the new season by ABC. That Was Then is not officially gone but has
been pulled from the schedule, which is just as good as gone.
Oct
10: Monk Makes Move: ABC is
still miffed about losing out on MONK to USA. The series is re-airing
in ABC and now being moved to Monday nights at 8pm EST, before
football, from it's Tuesday timeslot. Monk is not in the genre, but is
a wonderful series.
Oct
10: Dallas: Remember the
line... "Who Shot J.R.?" Well, Dallas will be making its way
to the big screen in a feature film from Regency Enterprises. They
have a new take on the story to small for the small screen. Sony
Pictures will be producing this guaranteed flop of an idea. The film
will be shot at the original location, South Fork Ranch, near Dallas.
Oct
10: Aquaman in 2004: Aquaman
is worthy of a feature film according to Warner Bros. thinking, but an
animated feature is currently development for the 2004/2005
season. The series will feature a young Aquaman finding his way
in life and learning his abilities, aka the Smallville style. Aquaman
will also get fresh new villains created specifically for the
series.
Oct
10: I-SciFi Interviews: This weeks show, today, will feature live interviews with
Dan Madsen (founder of the official Star Trek Fan Club) and Larry
Nemecek (managing editor of Star Trek Communicator). Log on to i-sci-fi.com
to listen. (Karrie Buck)
Oct
10: I-Man Auction Again: There is still a few things from the I-Man series left to
auction off. The auction runs Oct 11th thru Oct 12th. Items included
are Vials of counteragent, Darien's contract with the agency, an
Autographed "Frozen In Time" script by Steven Binder, and
more. CLICK
HERE to see the lot for auction and CLICK HERE for the auction
area.
Oct
10: Enterprise: The series is
indeed a disappointing mess. Rick Berman has become a cancer for the
franchise. Always taking the safe route. The writing is horrible with
little character stories much less development. Put a knife it, it's
done. It may be the highest rated Star Trek series, but it is nothing
close to what is could have been, much less what it SHOULD have
become. Same Trek, Same stories, same writing, same old shit.
Deepspace Nine is only a shadow of what Star Trek could have become.
And luckily for the fans that Rick Berman (Boreman) had very little to
do with the development of DS9.
Oct
9: the Punisher: If anyone
heard the rumor that The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, was being
considered for the lead in Marvel's 'the Punisher', (which I had not)
it is not true. IGN has disputed the rumor and their anonymous source
says it is not true. Production is slated to begin next year, and no
one has been signed to play the character of the Punisher/Frank
Castle.
Oct
9: McFarlane Stole Spawn: A
federal court ruled against Todd McFarlane and for genre author Neil
Gaiman, that he did indeed create three spawn characters - Angela,
Cogliostro, and Medievil Spawn. Gaiman won on all nine of his claims,
as well as all the counterclaims and affirmative defenses against him.
The jury will now decide how much cash Gaiman gets for McFarlane
ripping him off. After his attorney fees are paid, whatever amount
remains will be donated to comic-related charities and the Comic Book
Legal Defense Fund. (associated press) McFarlane... you greedy ass.
Oct
9: Ragata... What Idiots: The
Russian firm, RAGATA, that makes the Red Army Vodka is considering a
suit against Columbia Pictures. They claim that the feature xXx used
the product as Vin Diesel's characters favorite drink without the
permission of Ragata (which is wrong by the way). They claim the use
discredits their product. (zap2it) It was free positive advertising
for the drink, which most people have never heard of to begin with.
Normally you have to pay big bucks to have your product featured in a
film. What a bunch idiots.
Oct
9: Idiots for Life: Sometimes
you wonder if people have their head screwed on right, or even have
anything in the friggin' thing to begin with. Proof that some people
are working with nothing more than air is an online auction where
someone paid $1025.oo for a 1987 "Nintendo Fun Club News"
newsletter. The winning bidder clinched the deal in the final 60
seconds of the auction, beating off challenges from four others. The
item is the first issue of the Nintendo Newsletter. Over a grand
for a newsletter that isn't signed or gold plated. This isn't just one
mindless person mind you, Three others also bid on the item to get the
price that high.
Oct
9: Firefly Doomed: The new
series from Josh Whedon appears doomed. The series that replaced 'Dark
Angel' is only earning about a 4.8 rating for Fox. It is barely
beating Angel, and is coming in behind Buffy, Enterprise, Charmed and
Smallville. The series has been disappointing so far, with no signs of
getting better.
Oct
9: No Knights in King Arthur:
Dark Horizons has learned that Steven Spielberg's new HBO mini-series
'King Arthur will not feature the round table or any Knights. It won't
even have Merlin or Sir Lancelot appearing in the film and Camelot
will be nothing more than a mere fort. Well, that's one way to cut the
budget. There had better be one hell of a script and story to carry
this off. Filming begins next year in Britain. Spielberg is aiming for
Historical Reality, rather than the flair of previous story
told.
Oct
9: Smallville Flying: The
young Clark Kent might not be flying in the blue and red costume, but
he is soaring in the ratings. Smallville and Enterprise played head to
head in the ratings all last season with ratings in the 6's. This
season is quite different. Fans have learned that Rick Berman is
dishing out the standard Star Trek shit, despite offering a new
series, failing to bring in fresh ideas and push the envelope.
Smallville however, has gained in audience participation this year.
The ratings have increased from the low 6's to the mid 8's. The series
is fresh, somewhat unique, and very well written.
Oct
9: Haunted: UPN has another
flop on their hands. This season is looks to be Haunted. The show is
not performing well and UPN is likely to pull the plug any time
now. It is amazing the hard time UPN has coming up with new
quality shows, when 'The Invisible Man' and 'Farscape' have taken it
up the ass at the Sci-Fi Channel. Both were quality series with a huge
fan base. Their ratings equaled what UPN gets with their second rate
series with a much smaller market. Man!
Oct
8: Godzilla: The 26th Godzilla
production is underway. The new feature reunites Mechagodzilla with
old lizard tale as his evil counterpart. This may be a big budget
film, but they will be sticking with the man-in-the-rubber-suit
approach.
Oct
8: Superman: After the most
recent events around the Superman project and script leaks, Brett
Ratner is planning tight security. No script leaks, nothing.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that young hunk Josh Hartnett is
being considered as a contender for the role of Superman in the film.
Ratner also reports that none of the stuff reported by AICN is in his
shooting script. (comics2film.com)
Oct
8: Dead Zone: Season two of
'the Dead Zone' starring rat packer, Anthony Michael Hall begins
production on 9.25.02.
Oct
8: That Was Then: The new
time-travel series 'That Was Then' appears gone after just two weeks.
The ratings have been worse than HORRIBLE. Friday night is a shit
night for any series, but the only night I watch TV.
Oct
8: Alias Push: How bad does
the troubled ABC need Alias to be the cream of the crop? BAD! They are
running a 60 second theatrical trailer in theaters to promote the
series; planning merchandising and will air a special espionage
thriller after the Superbowl. Part of Alias' problem with an increase
in ratings could be the Sunday night time slot. It doesn't help that
the Saprano's also air on HBO then.
Oct
8: Pushing for One More: Push
Nevada, from Ben Affleck will likely get one more episode before the
death rattle sets in. The is in a bad day, and bad timeslot. The one
more episode is so that the final clue for the one million dollars can
be given out.
Oct
7: Chan A Star: Asian action
star Jackie Chan has gotten a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame over
the weekend. Chan has star number 2,205 and its just a few feet from
the new Kodak theatre, which is the new home for the Academy Awards.
Says Chan to the associated press, “I remember coming to Hollywood
and seeing the stars and I wanted one. To show my appreciation I will
make better films.'' Jackie Chan is 48 years old, and isn't likely to
have that many action roles left in his beat-up body.
Oct
7: Birds of Prey: Gotham
Clock Tower has confirmed that Aimee Allen's 'REVOLUTION' single
will be the theme song for the new series.
Oct
7: Dragnet: Married With
Children actor 'Ed O'Neil' will taking the role of the deadpan
detective in the new series 'DRAGNET' for ABC. He replaces Danny
Huston, who left the show recently. Dragnet is scheduled to premiere
in January of 2003 on ABC.
Oct
7: TIVO: What are the most
popular shows for TIVO viewers to record and watch at a better time
for them? CSI, Firefly, John Doe, and Without a Trace (which airs
opposite of ER) and PUSH Neveda. With 500,000 owners this could be
something that the networks may have to take into consideration before
canceling a show. Firefly, Without a Trace and Push Nevada are NOT
doing well in the ratings.
Oct
7: Solomon Kane: Another comic
book character is heading to the big screen in 'Solomon Kane', which
enjoyed a Marvel run. The Robert E. Howard character has been picked
up by New Line Cinema from writers David Jung and Steve Dandois. Solomon
Kane tells the story of a puritan adventurer facing monstrous
adversaries. According to Variety, the movie is set in colonial
America and incorporates elements from Howard's stories. "Kane's
heroic quest pits him against deadly human and occult forces as he
seeks revenge on the shape-shifting sorcerer who destroyed his
family."
(Comics2Film.com & Variety)
Oct
7: Duke Nukem: Moviehole.net
is reporting that Scorpion King, Dwayne 'the Rock' Johnson and 'Army of
Darkness' star Bruce Campbell are being considered for the lead in the movie
adaptation of the game 'DUKE NUKEM'. Production of the film is moving
very fast. Bruce Campbell is a much better actor than the Rock, and
has a huge fan base. But is he beefy enough to play the role?
Oct
7: Cat in the Hat: USA Today
has scored a great image of Mike Myers in full costume as the 'Cat in
the Hat'. CLICK
HERE to check out the image.
Oct
6: Galactica, A DRAG:
Battlestar
Galactica is in devlopment at the Sci-Fi Channel as every fan is well
aware of. But the project has YET to begin production. Ron Moore, of
Star Trek Fame, is working on the project. He also let fans know in a
recent forum Q&A that the mini-series has a budget well into the
eight figure range. A budget that seems pretty close to what was spent
on the first Dune mini-series for the Sci-Fi Channel. Moore tells fan
that he is planning on using storylines from 'Saga of a Star World'
and 'the Living Legend', along with some fresh ideas of his own. In
addition to the return of the Viper fighters there will be additional
Colonial fighter craft. Moore's rendition of Battlestar Galactica will
be grittier and have a more down to Earth feel than the original.
Plans right now look to be using CGI rather than models for the space
craft scenes. (battlestargalactica.com)
Fans should realize one big thing. The Sci-Fi Channel is the one
planning this thing, and they have YET to give Ron Moore an official
air date. Production is not yet scheduled to begin. A SFX company or
even a production staff have yet to be signed. This heavily
anticipated project hasn't even got off the ground yet. Bryan Singer
could return to his project for FOX before this one actually gears up,
IF it ever does.

4: CSI Raises: The entire cast
of CSI on CBS have gotten their salaries doubled. The series, entering
its third season, has been at or near the top since its debut. CSI
star William Peterson will be making $200K per episode, while Marg
Helgenberger doubles to $150K per episode. The rest of the cast don't
make that kind of money, but they too got substantial increases which
included a high-definition plasma TV worth about $20K. (zap2it.com)
Oct
4: $6B Man: The Six Billion
Dollar Man is finally moving from development hell at Dimension Films.
They have hired scribe Trevor Sands to pen the project. Dimension
hopes to turn the feature film, based on the series the Six Million
Dollar Man, into a franchise.
Oct
4: Another Trek: If there is
to be another film based on the Next Generation crew it will come down
to fans coming to see Star Trek: Nemesis. If all goes well at the box
office there will be more.
Oct
4: Westworld Idea?: Arnold
Schwartzenegger will be playing the robot cowboy in the upcoming 'Westworld'
remake. Arnold wants Sly Stallone to play the character is gets shot
and killed when the park goes crazy and Bruce Willis to play the
cowboy being chased by around through the film. The early draft of the
film has the Holiday Park on the moon and include the areas 'Aquaworld',
'Lunarworld', and 'Jurassic World'. (AICN)
Oct
4: Poor Full-Moon: Full-Moon
Pictures has had very few fresh ideas over the last year or so. It has
gotten so bad, they have announced plans for Puppet Master vs Demonic
Toys. An idea to mix two of their franchises again.
Oct
4: Jeremiah Casting: Sean
Astin will be joining the cast of Jeremiah in season two for a while
as Mr. Smith. Jeremiah's second season will also be broadcast in
high-definition TV.
Oct
3: Sub-Mariner: Marvel Comics
has finalized deals with Universal Pictures for Sub-Mariner and Prime to become feature films.
David Self, who wrote the horrible 'Road to Perdition' will attempt to
bring Prince Namor to the big screen. Sub-Mariner will follow the
adventures of Prince Namor, a half-man/half-amphibian creature from
Atlantis. A troubled rebel with a short temper, he has helped the
human race and fought against it when humankind polluted his
underwater kingdom with waste. Prime will be Marvel's first attempt at
action-comedy. Don Calame and Chris Conroy will pair up to script the
tongue-in-cheek story of Prime - the tale of a teenage boy who as a
result of a government-backed experiment gains the ability to
transform into an adult super hero. (moviehole.net)
Oct
3: Sebastian Spence Returns:
First Wave star, Sebastian Spence appeared on Dawson's Creek as the
gay love interest of Jack, played by Kerr Smith. Spence for five
episodes will portray Professor Matt Freeman. Spence tells fans that
things are not what they seem and Mr. Freeman has some deep dark
secrets. With just one episode left to go this is a huge change from
Sebastian's last TV gif starring as Cade Foster in First Wave, trying
to save the world from invasion by aliens. (Ron Wolfe &
Zap2It.com)
Oct
3: Davey Crockett: Here's a
huge blunder in film making... Billy Bob Thornton as the legendary
Davey Crockett. The actor is officially in negotiations to star in the
new film project. Crockett begins filming in January with director
John Lee Hancock at the helm. Also expected to be in the film is Ethan
Hawke and maybe Russell Crowe, if he's is interested. Should Crowe
pass, they will go after 'Lord of the Rings' actor Viggo Mortensen.
Filming should remain on schedule with little problems, since the sets
for the entire film have already been constructed in Austin,
Texas. (moviehole.net)
Oct
3: Birds of Prey:
VCD Covers have been added to the site for download. The new series
begins airing this week on the WB. Download your set today. CLICK HERE
for the VCD section. To check out all the CDR labels (there are
more of those than vcd covers) CLICK HERE.
Oct
3: Eraser Finally Coming:
Eraser was to have been an ABC series, but they backpedaled for a year
and now the series will premiere on none other than the USA Network as
a drama pilot. It will be a loose adaptation of the 1996 Arnold
Schwartzenegger film of the same name. The movie will deal with, but
not be restricted to, the Witness Protection Program. The big networks
are hard to pull the trigger on anything.
Oct
2: Firefly: Judging by the
ratings you can just about put a fork into 'Firefly'. The ratings are
dismal and the series after two episodes isn't any better than 'Dark
Angel', except it probably cost less per episode since the entire show
is basically filmed on sets. It's only been two-weeks
but the series looks doomed.
Oct
2: Witchblade: The producers
of the series might be taking the Witchblade into syndication if a network
doesn't pick it up. There is no official word yet, but fans
can hope the syndication avenue comes to pass. It would also give fans
a 22 episode season, rather than the 13 given by TNT. (tv guide)
Oct
2: Birds of Prey: It is
unclear whether the new re-shoot opening episode will be worth a shit
or not. Most who have seen the original un-aired pilot thought it was
very good. Warner Bros. changes will be drastic in the flow and look
of the new series. The Birds of Prey first episode will run past its
one hour time slot by 10 minutes.
Oct
2: The Tower: Jan Claude Van
Damme has announced the Tower as his next project. A $16M film which
Van Damme will write, direct and star. Sounds like a $16M direct to
video film. Van Damme will play a retired race driver who falls into a
coma and has an out of body experience. He finds himself in a tower
with various levels of fear, love, hate, etc., and must fight his way
to the top chop-soky style as usual.
Oct
2: The Core: Paramount is
pushing back the release of 'the Core' from its holiday release,
citing effects work as the culprit. They are apparently inserting the
end-of-the-world catastrophic events package.
Oct
2: Andromeda: The new season
for Andromeda has been pretty much equal to last season at or above
the 2.0 rating mark. The syndication series has only been beaten by
3rd Rock, and the X-Files in repeats.
Oct
1: Tremors Begins: The Sci-Fi
Channel begins its transition from the best drama genre series in
Farscape to a series based on a 'B' movie that spawned two sequels.
Tremors began production today in Baja Mexico. Joining Michael Gross,
from the three films, will be Victor Browne, Gladise Jimenez, Marcia
Strassman, and Dean Morris. Tremors will debut in January - likely
along with the final 11 episodes or Farscape, and new episodes of
Stargate SG-1. CLICK HERE for
Channel News to check out all the genre series being considered.
Oct
1: The Job: Darryl Hannah will

production has completed post production of TIMELINE, based on the
novel from Michael Crichton.
Oct 1:
The Wedding: Gina Torres (cleopatra
2020 & Firefly) has married her Matrix costar Laurence Fishburne.
It isn't a movie fling like so many other relationship/marriages in
Hollywood as the couple has been dating for seven years now. Gina
Torres also appeared in many episodes of Hercules and Xena.
Oct
1: Peacemaker: Tom Berenger
will take on the lead in a new cop drama as a US Marshal in the old
style cop drama set in 1881. (zap2it.com)
Oct
1: Thoughtcrimes: A new
government agent is making her way to television in new pilot with 'Thoughtcrimes'.
The pilot will star Navi Rawat as a young telepath who becomes a
government agent. The two-hour pilot will be executive produced by Jan
de Bont.
Oct
1: Nancy Drew: ABC is planning
to bring Nancy Drew to the Sunday television in a backdoor pilot
movie. If the ratings do well for the telefilm, it could be turned
into a weekly series. Nancy Drew airs Sunday October 20th at
7pm. Maggie Lawson stars as Nancy Drew with Lauren Birkell, Jill
Ritchie, and Marieh Delfino tagging along.
Oct
1: Knightrider: David
Hasselhoff told CNN that he will be executive producing the new
feature film, and might even reprise his role as Michael Knight in the
film. This information is from a September 28th interview with CNN.com.
This is a project that likely should not be heading to the big
screen.
