29: Galactica A Go: Latest
word is that The Sci-Fi Channel has decided to pick up Battlestar
Galactica. It is likely an announcement will come officially after the
new year. The cable network had to decided before December 31st. when
the major actors options would run out. Fans could expect to see the
new series in 2004. (still a rumor for now) Knowing
the Sci-Fi Channel expect cancellation before the end of the first
season after giving a tight budget and extensive stock footage that
will be shot. Yunno this series will have almost no budget. After all
the SFC is essentially the Stargate Channel.
Dec
29: Catwoman?: Has anyone
noticed the new Catwoman photos look like something from the Roger
Corman features and television series "Black Scorpion"? Sure
does to me.
Dec
29: Nightstalkers: Jessica
Biel has confirmed in an interview with Wizard Magazine that if the
final Blade film does well at the box office it's expected that The
Nightstalkers (Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds) will spin-off into
their own features. Biel loves the action roles (unlike many Hollywood
actors) and would jump at the chance to bring Abigail and Hannibal
King into their own feature.
Dec
29: $200 Million: Lord of the
Rings: Return of the King continues to kick some serious ass at the
box office. In just 11 days the feature film has grossed $200 million.
With all this money the trilogy has made (over 2.4 billion dollars)
New Line is considering having a cheap American special effects
company finish up the effects for the missing 1hour and 10 minutes of
footage that will be restored in the special edition DVD. Fans are
outraged that NOW the production company would play greedy, cutting
back on the quality with the third and final film.
Dec
29: Silver Surfer: Kevin Feige
of Marvel Studios has confirmed that after Fantastic Four comes to the
big screen, Silver Surfter will be the next big project for Marvel.
(likely two or three years)
Dec
29: More Enterprise Trouble: CBS
head honcho, Leslie Moonves is not happy with Enterprises performance
this year and has said that WILL be addressed after the season is
over. UPN has lost money every year since being purchased by
Viacom/CBS. They are happy with UPN's Monday/Tuesday performance as
well as the wrestling on Thursday nights. That leaves Enterprise and
Jake 2.0 in hot water. Moonves seems to stupid to realize the
competition that these two shows go up against on Wednesday
nights. Friday nights would be a great spot for both shows, or
if UPN had a Sunday night line-up it could work great in the 7pm to
9pm timeslot. But hey, were just fans, what the Hell do we know?
Dec
27: Midnight Casting: Randy
Quaid (The Wraith, Hard Rain, ID4) has signed on to join to the cast

(Miracles). Already set to star is Timothy Hutton with David
McIlwraith, Kari Matchett. The five hour mini-series is set to air in
one hour episodes, over five consecutive nights beginning in June
2004.
Dec
27: Enterprise: Repeats of
Enterprise over the Holidays have beaten repeats of Charmed and
Smallville in the ratings. Jake 2.0 has had a decent increase in
audience airing new episodes over the same period.
Dec
27: Bewitched: This project
might be moving forward again as reports surface that Nicole Kidman is
finally close to signing the contract to star as Samantha Stevens.
Kidman reports she is having a difficult time learning to do the nose
thing that original series star Elizabeth Montgomery did to perform
magic.
Dec
27: Seabiscuit: The film was
no juggernaut at the box office with $120 million, but things changed
as the film hit VHS and DVD over the holidays taking in over $80
million.
Dec
27: King Conan: The
WWE's wrestler Triple H might be taking over the Arnold
Schwartzenegger role of King Conan after he finishes up his currently
role in the third Blade film. (superherohype.com)
Dec
27: King Kong: Peter Jackson's
new King Kong feature remake could be called Lord of Kong if the
casting goes the right way. Already Ian McKellon wants in, and now
comes word that Rings stars Elijah Woods and Andy Serkis want in too.

Dec
24: Merry Christmas: I would
like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hopes for a wonderful
new year in 2004. Last day for Christmas shopping. News is
slow for the Holiday Season.
Dec
24: Rings of Money: Return of
the King has gobbled up an impressive $243 million world wide opening
weekend and over $74 million in the United States. The opening weekend
worldwide made nearly enough to pay for the entire three films budget
of $300 million. The total for the three films now is over $2.1
billion dollars. A nice investment for Warner Bros. who took a big
risk filming three films a the same time.
Dec
24: Stargate Atlantis: Adam
Baldwin (Firefly, Independence Day, Predator 2) is pursuing a role in
the new Stargate series. Baldwin is up for a supporting role stating
that he is a little past his prime for a starring role when is suppose
to be someone in their early 20's. Atlantis is already slated to run
along with Stargate SG-1. There are 20 episodes slated for the first
season.
Dec
24: Subatomic: Hyde Park
Entertainment is shopping around it new television series
"Subatomic" based on the graphic novel from Mad Yak Press
and creator Patrick Neighly. It revolves around a young surveillance
expert that is being hunted by a big brother antiterrorist from which
he escaped to try and lead a normal life.
Dec
24: K.I.T.T. Has Engine Trouble: Looks like the proposed Knight Rider
feature from Revolution Studios might be turning off it engine. Word
is that Executive Producer David Hasselhoff has given up on the
project and Revolution Studios isn't answering anything about the
project that was scheduled to hit theaters in 2004. (moviehole.net)
Dec
24: The Devil: For the new
Constantine feature starring Keannu Reeves has signed their man to
play the Devil. This will be handled by Peter Stormare (Armageddon).

becomes involved with Constantine after her twin sister is
murdered.
Dec

thriller) will release in 2004, but has been given no official release
date.
Dec
24: Hu Joins Matrix: What do
you do when the movie roles aren't rolling in? Join a television
series these days it appears. Kelly Hu, who started in television
before jumping to features is returning to television in the series
Threat Matrix for about five episodes. Production on these episodes
will begin Monday, January 5th. Her character will be a member of the
show's central anti-terror government team.
Dec
19: Battlestar Galactica Rumor Central:
Here is an interesting rumor on the Galactica forum of scifi.com.
Apparently the Sci-Fi Channel (actually the Stargate Network) has been
pulling all the strings to launch Galactica as a weekly series hoping
to have it hit the network in July of 2004. Here's the twist in the
news... NBC which owns Universal, Galactica's production company, has
decided it wants to add the science fiction drama as part of its fall
2004 line-up. Remember this is just a rumor that was posted with no
source. Interesting if true. Most recently networks passed on
recent hits CSI, MONK, and The Dead Zone which ended up on a different
network or cable outlet. Battlestar Galactica would broadcast to a
larger audience on NBC.
Dec
19: King is King: Return of
the King had a Wizard like opening day (12.17.03) spelling up a
whopping $34.1 million.
Dec
19: Rings vs Potter: It's
amazing how much Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter have done at the
box office. Lord of the Rings has grossed $1.9 billion to date
while Harry Potter has made $1.9 billion as well. The third film
totals will determine the trilogy champ.
Dec
18: Buffy Snubs Angel: Sarah
Michelle Gellar turned down an opportunity to return as Buffy the
Vampire Slayer during a two-parter on Angel for the May Sweeps.
Gellar said the time was not right to return. It's more likely that
Gellar would like to distance herself from the Buffy character.
Dec
18: Lord of the Box Office:
During a midnight showing at 2100 theaters around the country Lord of
the Rings was a sell out. In that single showing it is estimated that
the film took in a hefty $8 million.
Dec
18: Pearl City: NBC is close
to greenlighting a new Hawaii cop show titled "Pearl
City". Big thing is will the show be like the series Las
Vegas and CSI where most all the shows are filmed in Los
Angeles.
Dec
18: ALF, the Next David Letterman:
The past year has been filled with tales of efforts to return ALF to
television. First we have been slammed with phone ads of ALF talking
with sports stars about long distance phone service. Hey, the guy is
from a far off galaxy. Who would no long distance better than him?
Then the creators of ALF have been pushing a stupid talk show idea to
every network. You would expect to see the talking fur ball on the
Sci-Fi Channel, but Nickelodeon has is now developing a talk show
titled "Alf's Hit Talk Show". ALF name is Gordon Shumway,
and is voiced by Paul Fusco.
Dec
18: 50,000 Cable Boxes: Two
morons were busted on Wednesday for selling 50,000 illegal cable boxes
allowing users to get premium programming for free. They were charged
with 13 counts that include mail fraud, money laundering, and unlawful
interception of cable services. Are they in trouble? Oh yeah... these
bozos grossed over $10 million in sales. Both Darryl Poll of Simi
Valley, Ca. (age 41) and Las Vegas resident Carlo Mireles (age 29) are
out on bail. They face up to 62 years in prison and a fine of $3.5
million.
Dec
18: Azkaban Digitized For IMAX:
Come June when the third Harry Potter film hits theaters, Prisoner of
Azkaban will also land in the small IMAX market. The first two Harry
Potter films have grossed $1.9 billion dollars for Warner Bros.
Dec
18: Enterprise: Star Trek
Voyagers helmsman Tom Paris, aka actor Robert Duncan McNeil will be
directing an episode of Enterprise in February.
Dec
18: Goblet of Fire: Just
finished reading the fourth Harry Potter novel "The Goblet of
Fire". The best of the first four by far. The writing was
excellent and I found the novel geared more for teens to adult rather
than the younger audience. While much of the book will not be in the
film, it should make for a great adventure.
Dec
17: Storm: X-Men producer
Lauren Shuler Donner is planning to use the third X-Men film as a
leaping platform for a Wolverine spin-off. Everyone knows this, but
she is also planning using the film as a springboard for Halle Berry's
Storm character.
Dec
17: X-Men 3 Update: Donner was
also spilled the beans that Femke Janssen will return in the third
film as Jean Gray, who will be transformed into the Phoenix as it lead
up to at the end of the second film. Halle Berry is blackmailing
the producers with threats that she will not return to the franchise
unless her character has more to do. Donner insists that they have a
great storyline for her character. It would be better if the
role of Storm was recast.
Dec
17: $6 Million Man: Actor Lee
Majors, who played the original bionic man in the television series,
is happy that Jim Carrey will take on the role in the comedic version
in development right now.
Dec
17: Young Indy: The Digital
Bits website has heard rumor that fans of the Young Indiana Jones
series can expect to see the DVD's very soon.
Dec
17: Wizards: The incredible
animated feature Wizards will be sliding back to DVD next year. Ralph
Bakshi will be recording his audio commentary for the DVD very soon.
Dec
15: Babylon 5 Gets Big: The
Babylon 5 project JMS doesn't want to tell anyone about looks to be a
Feature Film. A UK source for the Dark
Horizons website reports that Winchester Films is in discussions
with creator J. Michael Strazynski about taking the series to the big
screen. The project would begin shooting late 2004 should it happen.
Winchester Films would have to be working with Warner Bros. for this
to take place.
Dec
13: Return of King DVD: Fans
will be happy to know that they can expect a DVD release of Lord of
the Rings: Return of the King to be over 4hrs and 30min. The
theatrical release will be a mere 3hrs and 20min. King opens Dec.
17th. Image the hack job required to remove 1hr and 10min from this
epic tale? "Dammit Jim! I'm a hollywood executive, not a story
teller!"
Dec
13: Anchor Bay SOLD: Fans know
this company for putting out DVD boxed sets of television series.
Anchor Bay has been sold to IDT Entertainment, who are a multinational
telephone & technology company... "Oh Great!" The
company wants everyone to know that customers will see no visible
change in product distribution, etc. Through negotiations the company
has been purchasing the rides to animated series such as Spiderman,
Beast Wars, and Reboot. Chances are fans will now being seeing these
sets on DVD. The have also purchased the rights to Gene Roddenberry
projects Starpoint Academy and Char. IDT seems to working hard already
to become a huge distribution company. But!!! Will they be smart
enough to know that cheaper, sells more. Anchor Bay comes with 3500
owned or licensed titles. IDT intends to increase their library.
Dec
13: Carnivale A Go: HBO has
given the thumbs up for a second season of it's first year series
Carnivale for another 13 episodes. Production is slated for the fall,
which means a late 2004 premiere. Ronald D. Moore however will not be
returning for the second season. Howard Klein and Daniel Knauf will be
returning. It is unknown which characters will be returning since
several where left hanging at the end of the first season.
Dec
13: UPN Shakedown: With the
Parkers wrapping after just 19 episodes and being one of UPN's best
rated shows, it could signal a major shake-up for the network this
fall. The network is last in the ratings and seldom attempts changes
to make things better, beyond having a quick axe.
Dec
13: More Little House?: ABC
has greenlit a new mini-series that will be more faithful to the
novels unlike the Michael Landon series of the same name.
Dec
13: The Extreme Team: Also
being call "The X-Team" New telefilm with production
already completed about A secret Black Ops rescue team made up of Gen
X extreme sport athletes go to New Zealand to save a former member
that has been kidnapped. Telefilm stars Jeremy Kewley, Eric Mabius,
Ling Bai, Chris Pratt, Paul Francis, and Elizabeth Lackey. This
one reminds me of the Fox telefilm... Blade Squad.
Dec
12: Khitomer Site Down: For
the fans burning their own DVD's and using VCD/DVD clamshells and
labels from Khitomer, the site is down. The guys over there are having
trouble with their host, who has serious hardware errors. It is
unknown what the problem is and when it will be back online. http://www.khitomer.net
Dec
12: Spiderman 2 Online: The
new trailer for Spiderman 2 will be posted online December 15th at
exactly 12:01am EST on Yahoo.com. Spiderman 2 opens in theaters July
2004.
Dec
12: Jake 2.0 Gets Bionic: Lee
Majors, once the Bionic Man, will be showing up on Jake 2.0 in
Wednesday's episode "Double Agent". He plays the character
Richard Fox, who's brought out of retirement by the NSA to help Jake
brink in a double agent played by Barbara Tyson.
Dec
12: Catwoman Doomed?: One of
the reports that the Superhero Hype website got from someone on the
set is that Warner Bros. is working closely with the production and
requested 15 minutes of rough footage that's been shot to make sure
they liked it. They are "being careful" with Catwoman and
have what appears to be the dreaded "hands on approach".
This generally means box office flop. To much studio hands on meana
dismal results for fans. This one could be another Wild Wild West
disaster - Great cast, big budget, monster flop.
Dec
11: Galactica Mini-Ratings:
While some were disappointed with the mini-series overall Battlestar
Galactica averaged a 3.5 ratings over the two night run. (That's 4.6
million viewers) The four-hour mini-series had the channel's best
ratings for 2003 and third best ever for the network. I doubt the
ratings were good enough to warrant a new series. For Battlestar
Galactica's sake, I hope not.
Dec
11: Galactica Overview: I
enjoyed the mini-series better than any episodes of the original. The
special effects were outstanding. Most of the acting was very good,
with the exception of Starbuck. The actress did not fit the role. I
found the mini-series slow in many places, but that is also due to the
budget restraints that come with the Sci-Fi Channel. This one did not
get the $20 million that the dune mini-series had. AICN's review of
the mini-series was the biggest piece of crap they have run. The
mini-series could have been better, but it was very good for being on
the Sci-Suk Channel.
Dec
11: Enterprise to Die: It has
been confirmed that this seasons episode total will be 24 rather than
26. UPN and Paramount have decided to allow the Star Trek franchise to
die as they will NOT be moving the series to Friday nights. Can
fans say... "Thank you Rick Berman." With the great work
Michael Pillar, former Trek executive producer, has done with USA
networks The Dead Zone and most recently the Battlestar Galactica
mini-series he should have been given the reins for the Star Trek
franchise. It might be in a different place right now.
Dec
11: Smithsonian Lays An Egg:
The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History has added an EGG
from James Cameron's "Aliens" along with a copy of the films
screenplay and movie poster.
Dec
11: New Warhammer 40K: THQ has
announced a follow-up video game to its recent Wahammer 40,000: Fire
Warrior. The new title will be Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. It
is schedule for PC release in the fall of 2004. (From THQ)
Dec
10: Batman: Christian Bale,
Michael Cain and Viggo Mortensen and Katie Holmes in the new Batman
film. Well, Lord of the Rings co-star Mortensen hasn't signed on yet,
but director Christopher Nolan wants the star to take on the role of
the Villain in the fifth Batman installment. Katie Holmes on the other
hand has signed on to play the love interest for Christian Bale/Batman
Production on Batman is slated to begin in April 2004. Any
reason that every film Batman has to have a love interest. It's
usually a wasted role to get the token babe in the films. The comics
seldom showed Batman in love. It isn't needed in a superhero
film.
Dec
10: 10-8 in Trouble: The new
ABC drama 10-8 has had its full season order cut back just 15 episodes
this season. This may not be a bad thing this season for the show
however. ABC wants the Sunday 8pm time-slot to launch a new mid-season
replacement series. The network has 10 series waiting on the bench to
get some viewer time. 10-8 averages a decent 8.3 million
viewers. (futon critic)
Dec
10: Goblet of Fire: Director
Mike Newell will helm the fifth Potter film. He is worried about the
history of the previous three films messing up his own creativity on
the feature. He will be picking up the crew from the third film to
keep the young actors with familiar faces. Newell is extremely happy
with the technicians and crew from the Potter films. The producers and
studio are telling Newell they want his unique vision in the film, but
he is still tied down to the characters and history already done with
the franchise.
Dec
10: Enterprise Moving?: Is UPN
and Paramount finally pulling some head out of their asses? They
practically waited til the show is dead, but FINALLY there is rumor
that Enterprise, and likely Jake 2.0, may be moving from Wednesday to
Friday. The line-up on Wednesday is just to strong for Enterprise and
Jake 2.0 to gain audience. Swapping Thursday nights with Smackdown
would have been better. Friday is a rough night to get viewers. Most
recently has been the demise of Dark Angel, John Doe, and Firefly on
Friday nights. If UPN fails to move Enterprise season 4 next year will
be the series last.
Dec
9: Enterprise Trouble Again:
the Dark Horizons website has post a rumor that Producers of the show
were given a memo that this years 26 episodes would be cut down to 24,
and next season would also be just 24 and the shows final season.
Enterprise has really been pounded this year with Stagnant effort by
Paramount to make the show better and UPN to move the show to another
night. Berman and Braga have also done little to make the show unique.
If the show is canceled after its fourth season, it has been a total
team effort to make sure this show would fail.
Dec
9: Farscape Mini: It's pretty
much official that Hensen Studios and the Sci-Fi Channel are green on
the mini-series. The new mini-series slated to close up all the loose
ends, is set to begin production December 15th and the original stars
will be reprising their roles.
Dec
9: Daredevil: The man who has
made a living off not be able to really act in big budget films, Ben
Affleck, tells the Sci-Fi Wire website that he is reluctant to reprise
the role of Daredevil. It might be to much work for him. This, coming
from a guy who does a piece of shit movie with JLO and then runs to do
Paycheck. He told the site he isn't banging down the door to get
Daredevil II made, but would don the cowl for a cameo in Elektra. What
a puss. Could have his own superhero franchise, but it's too much work
for all that easy money. Asswipe! Ahhh go booze it up yah punk.
Dec
9: Cat Sucks: Movie Goers were
told that Cat in the Hat sucks, but no one wanted to listen. After its
first week at number one movie goers told their friends to save the
money for something else. The Cat fell from the number one spot to
fifth place after its second week earning just $7.3 million.
Dec
9: B5 Movie Boxed Set: There
is a new Babylon 5 boxed set coming out that will package all five
telefilms neatly together. JMS will have commentary on "In The
Beginning" and "The Gathering". This should hit stores
following the fifth and final season boxed set of Bablyon 5 in
2004.
Dec
9: Crusade: Warner Bros is so
pleased with the DVD sales of Babylon 5 that are rewarding fans with a
B5: Crusade boxed set sometime in 2004.
Dec
6: X-Men 3 Creeps Forward: A
third X-Men film is finally beginning to creep forward as Fox has
entered negotiations with Brian Singer. He has already inked a deal
with Fox to develop projects that he will direct and produce. One
stumbling block with the third film will be the cost. The actors were
signed for two pictures and new deals will have to be worked out for
the new film, which means a larger budget. Halle Berry believes she is
worth two or three times what she was making to reprise her role as
Storm. She isn't interested unless Storm has a larger role in the
film. Fans could see less returning stars for new X-Men
characters.
Dec
6: Dr. Jekyll is That You?:
The Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde horror tale is making a come back at
Dimension Films. Mike Fleiss will be producing the retelling, that
will be based on the Robert Louis Stevenson classic.
Dec
6: Get Conan: While the Rock,
Dwayne Johnson, is planning to have a blast doing the sequel to Get
Shorty titled "Be Cool" with Travolta and Uma Thurman, he
isn't so sure he wants to step into roles that Arnold Swartzennegger
has made his own. While the discussions are constantly out there about
about the wrestler turned actor taking over for Arnold, he's not so
sure he wants the role of Conan, Terminator, or Predator star.
Dec
6: Wuhrer is Forsaken: B Movie
babe Kari Wurher will get forsaken in a new direct to video production
of The Prophecy: Forsaken. This is the fourth Prophecy film with a
fifth right behind titled The Prophecy: Uprising. Wuhrer has done
television and feature films. (Sliders, Anaconda and most recently
Eight Legged Freaks). Wuhrer was born in 1967, stands 5'5" and
weighs in at 105lbs. For the guys... Her boob job came after her role
in Anaconda.
Dec
5: 4400: USA network has
ordered a pilot telefilm which centers around 4400 people who were
abducted by UFO's and returned with no memory of their experience.
Each of them was gone from one month to several decades. The pilot
will premiere in the summer of 2004. Production is slated to begin in
February. It is being produced by Viacom Productions and Renegade 83.
4400 is from Francis Ford Coppola, Rene Enchevarria (Dark Angel) and
Maira Suro.
Dec
4: Carnivale on HBO: The new
dark drama on HBO, Carnivale, is pretty close to earning a second year
renewal. The series is just finishing up its first season with some
very interesting twists and turns.
Dec
4: Alien Quadrilogy: The new
nine-disc set is moving steadily off the shelf since yesterday. If
you're looking to pick up a set for Christmas check our Costco or
Price-Costco where they are selling the impressive set for just
$61.99. The MSRP on the set is $99.99. I believe Wallmart has the set
for $69.99. Get yours today.
Dec
4: 47 With Chrildren: Actress
Geena Davis (the Fly, Cutthroat Island) is pregnant with twins at the
age of 47 with her 33 year old husband Dr. Reza Jarrahy. 47? Her
husband is a neurosurgeon. Maybe he is treating her for brain damage.
Davis isn't big on sticking with husbands to long. She has previously
been married to director Rinny Harlin, Jeff Goldbloom and Richard
Emmolo.
Dec
4: Mortal Souls Options: Blue
Cactus Pictures has optioned the rights to the comic book Mortal Souls
from Steven Grant. Grant has worked on Marvel Comics The Punisher,
Robocop, Superman and Catwoman. Mortal Souls is published by Avatar
Press.
Dec
3: Sci-Fi Channel Gets Dead Lawyers:
The Sci-Fi Channel has finally decided on another low budget series
project titled "Dead Lawyers" from the Zanuck Co and Sony
Television. This project has been waiting on the go-ahead for several
months. They have picked up Sean Patrick Flanery (Young Indiana
Jones, The Dead Zone, The Strip) and Oscar winner F Murray Abraham to
star in the series pilot. Flanery stars as Jimmy Quinn, a ruthless,
soulless attorney to the rich and famous. When he dies in a car crash,
Quinn is sent back to Earth where he must work pro bono cases until he
can undo all of the harm he has apparently done to society. He joins
mentor Abraham at a law firm of dead attorneys, all of whom are
similarly trying to atone for their corporate sins. Dead Lawyers will
be directed by NYPD Blue helmer Christopher Murphey. Production is
slated to begin this month (december) in Toronto. (zap2it.com)
Dec
3: Firefly Boxed Set: Did you
enjoy the short lived series? Enough the purchase the short first
season? On December 9th you get your chance to purchase the
boxed set on DVD, which includes the three unaired episodes. Firefly
includes commentary by cast and crew; a gag reel, deleted scenes and a
musical performance by Adam Baldwin. Best of all... the episodes are
presented in Widescreen as they were originally filmed. That mean
uncut for the commercial experience.
Dec
3: Jeremiah Update: Looks like
Showtime will broadcast the remaining Jeremiah Season Two episodes
beginning sometime in March 2004. What about season 3 ???
According to a member of the show, MGM is attempting to set up season
3 without J. Michael Strazcynski (he resigned from the show at the end
of season two) at Showtime or somewhere else.
Dec
3: Galactica Companion Is Here:
It's out, just in time for the new Battlestar Galactica mini-series.
The new Battlestar Galactica Companion, from authors Ritchie F. Levine
and David Criswell, however is geared for the original series.
It's stuffed with all things Battlestar including interviews with cast
and crew. You can pick up the new companion online from
Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. It currently priced at $39.98.
Order your copy today.
Dec
3: Babylon 5: The recent DVD
sales might have a bit to do with Warner Bros. interest in the defunct
series resurrection. J. Michael Straczynski moved his new Babylon 5
project in the writing phase as the project has moved from discussion
to money. He is writing furiously tells JMS to the Babylon 5 message
board. JMS has plenty of time after abandoning his Showtime series
Jeremiah, stating he cannot stand the way MGM dominates and controls
the show. He also stated that he will never work for MGM again under
its present administration.
Dec
2: Classics Gone?: There are
some sources/rumors that the Sci-Fi Channel will be dumping the
classics from their programming. The rumor reports this to be for more
new programming, but should the channel do this they will have NOTHING
to air during the day for their entire broadcasting days.
Dec
2: Comcast Fucks Fans: Comcast
has made a drastic move taking the Sci-Fi Channel from it's basic
package and moving it to their digital package - which means fans must
pay for the channel. There is nothing on the channel worth dumping a
monthly extra fee/charge to watch. Nice work Comcast, really nice. I
had their shitty service when I lived in California. Had to wait
almost 8 months when the channel came online for them to pick it up.
They suck.
Dec
2: The Hobbit: Peter Jackson
hasn't had enough. The Director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy is
interested in helming a feature film version of "The
Hobbit". Jackson will make at least his King Kong feature before
working on the Hobbit.
Dec
2: Timeline Sucks: Well, the
book was boringly long, and fans who read any of the book knew that
any adaptation to the big screen would not be worth the $7 to $10 to
see it. The feature tanked at the box office earning just $12.6
million over the five day weekend. Look for the DVD release next
week... just kidding.
Dec
2: Passion Wanted at Vatican:
The Vatican has requested a free early secret viewing of Mel
Gibson's "The Passion of Christ". Mel Gibson has yet to
agree but likely will. Hey, pay your $10 bucks like everyone
else.
Dec
2: Doom: Every studio seems
interested in this game as a feature film, but don't really want to do
anything with it. First Columbia had and then Universal - neither
stepping up and developing the project. Now Warner Bros has their
hands on it and are moving very slowly. The first draft is just now
getting done. This time WB has deadlines to get a script, greenlight
the project and start production or the rights revert back to the
gaming company. Warner says they are serious about the project.
Dec
2: The Taken Channel: With the
way the Sci-Fi Channel is pounding it long mini-series TAKEN at
viewers they should change the channels name to the Taken Channel. The
mini-series had a rather disappointing ending after what... 20 hours.
Taken just wasn't good enough to keep pounding over and over at
viewers. Give it a rest.
Dec
2: X-Files 2: David Duchovny
told fans on the Razor gaming website that the second X-Files film is
currently in development with filming possibly starting as early as
sometime next year.
Dec
2: Alien Rumor: The Dark
Horizons website has a big rumor that due to the success of the
Alien limited re-release Fox is ready to continue the franchise and
has signed the 50+ year old Sigourney Weaver for Alien 5. Like the
site I seriously doubt this is true.
Dec
2: Clint With the Bat: Another
quick rumor is that Clint Eastwood has been offered the role of Gotham
City's Major and looks to be excited with the role.
Dec
2: Stargate SG-1: The Sci-Fi
Channel will resume the seventh season of the series beginning January
9th at 9pm.
Dec
2: Monk Returns: The third
season of Monk returns to the USA network with seven new episodes on
January 16th at 10pm.
Dec
1: Aliens: Look for the Alien
Quadrilogy tomorrow December 2nd at your local retailer. Shop around
for the nine disc boxed set of the four special edition
features. It can be had for as low as $69.99 but retails for
$99.99. Costco should be selling the boxed sets for this price.
Best Buy could offer the sets this low the first day or two. Amazon
online is offering the set for $69.99.
Dec
1: Fast and the Furious 3:
Paul Walker who starred in both films believes that after the success
of the sequel Vin Diesel might be ready to return for the third film.
(zap2it.com) Why would Diesel return to this franchise when he
refused to return to the xXx franchise that was such a hit?
Dec
1: Pitch Black: Remember this
sleeper hit? Don't forget to look for Vin Diesel's new trilogoy (the
Chronicles of Riddock) based on his character from the film beginning
in June 2004.
Dec
1: King Kong: Lord of the
Rings actor Ian McKellen, has told the zap2it website that he might
have a part in Peter Jackson's upcoming King Kong project. McKellen is
more than willing to do the role, whatever it is.
Dec
1: Everett Burrell: Burrell
contributed to the stunning special effects we say in the Dune
Mini-Series on the Sci-Fi Channel. He has left Cantina Pictures to
join Caf'e FX as their Animation Supervisor. For Cantina Burrell
served as the Special Effects Super, and 3D animator, modeler, texture
artist and 2D compositor. Caf'e FX just finished up their effects for
the feature film "Gothika"
Nov
27: Tru For More: Fox has
picked up another seven episodes of their new series "Tru
Calling". This will bring the first season to 20 episodes. The
remaining two were not picked up due to baseballs post season. The
pickup comes despite poor ratings for the series at just over 4
million viewers. Tru Calling is the seasons least watched show.
Nov
27: Indy IV:
IndyExperience.com is reporting that the final Indiana Jones feature
could be gearing up into pre-production. Rumors are that artists have
begun working on storyboards and concept artwork.
Nov
27: Andromeda: The changes for
the series have not been so well received by fans this season. Looks
like some fans are walking away from the series. Ratings are down,
especially last week when the ratings were just 1.9, falling to fourth
place. Mutant X took the top spot tied with repeats of Stargate SG-1
at 2.3. The second season of She Spies is at 2.1 with Andromeda down
to 1.9 barely beating repeats of Angel and Buffy the Vampire
Slayer. I don't watch the show anymore. To many storyline
changes.
