Feb 28: Angel On the Out?: There is a good possibility that Angel will not get renewed next season by the WB. Producers are hopeful but the WB has said nothing positive toward the shows return. It's chances did get a positive boost after the dismal WB pilot telefilm, "The Lone Ranger".

Feb 28: Angel Comes to TNT: TNT has signed a deal with 20th Century for the four seasons of Angel. The series joins to the off network hours of Law & Order, Charmed, the X-Files, ER, and NYPD Blue. Angel could join the line-up as early as the fall of 2003.

Feb 28: Alias Renewed: Jennifer is on cloud nine right now as her series "ALIAS" has gotten the green for season three and her solo film based on Electra has gotten the go ahead as well by 20th Century Fox.

Feb 28: Lone Ranger: The WB pilot telefilm left a lot to be desired Wednesday night. I found the TV movie to be boring and predictable. There was very little acting throughout the film - from the lead role to the smallest supporting actor. Well, maybe Silver did a great job, but that's it.  I can't see the WB greenlighting a series from it.

Feb 28: Daredevil 2 a Go: 20th Century Fox has greenlit the Daredevil sequel and the solo Electra feature film.

Feb 28: Harnett Passes on Supe: There's no Superman is Josh Harnett's future as the young actor has dropped from consideration. Three names now being mentioned. Once again Brendan Frasier's name has emerged along with Mathew Bomer and Paul Walker.

Feb 28: Mech Warrior: Dean Devlin will produce a feature film based on the video game "MECH WARRIOR". The movie will focus on the Republic and the forces outside it that are hoping to restart the Mech Wars of old. Devlin plans to make the movie look like a $150 million film while doing it for less than $100 million. Paramount Pictures is in talks to option the property from Wiz Kids, a Seattle-based game company, for Devlin's Electric Entertainment. (scifi wire)

Feb 28: Hulk is Vader: The big question was, who will don the Darth Vader costume in Episode III. It looks like Hulk actor Lou Ferringo will don the mask and cape for George Lucas. (coming attractions)

Feb 28: True Lies 2: James Cameron has stated again that there is NO True Lies 2 in the works, and a sequel to the original film will not be happening. Man people, let's just leave Mr. Cameron playing in the ocean while the movie business passes him by. I sure know how much I loved watching the Bismark special. Wow, movie making at it's best. Nothing wrong with one of the best movie makers WASTING his talents doing documentary films for a living.

Feb 28: NYPD Blue Babe: Shaggable Babe Kim Delaney will be returning to NYPD Blue for the May sweeps returning to the role she left behind. It is unknown if the role could return next season part-time or full-time.

Feb 28: Selleck Returns: Tom Selleck is hanging up his spurs for a comedy pilot on the Peacock channel about a ex-baseball player who returns to his hometown, after his popularity is gone, to coach a farm team. Hhhmmmm Mr. Baseball comes to TV.

Feb 26: I-Man: Ever wondered what it would be like to have a Invisible Man gland of your own? Well, now you can. Dungeon Dan has created a gland every one can own. Dan has created the first ever replica of the "Invisibility Gland". Sculpted at 1:1 scale, the gland is made of a strong pale resin and sits above a hand-painted base enclosed in a plastic case.  CLICK HERE  to check out the site and see the gland for yourself.

Feb 26: MI3: With David Fincher stepping aside as director Paramount Pictures is hot to get "Narc" director Joe Carnahan to take the helm.

Feb 26: Young MacGyver: The WB has found their young man to play Macgyver in Jared Paladecki. He will be the young nephew of THE MacGyver who is recruited into the Phoenix Foundation to follow his Uncles footsteps.  (Scott Strout)

Feb 26: Gellar Done: Sarah Michelle Gellar has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she will depart Buffy the Vampire Slayer in May when the seventh season wraps.  Eliza Dushku is no longer available for a spin-off series as the young actress has signed onto a drama pilot with Fox. UPN has also pretty much established that they are not interested in another season of Buffy.

Feb 26: Threat Matrix: The cast for the ABC series is set. Melora Walters (MAGNOLIA) will play Lark, Will Lyman will play Atkins, Kurt Caceres (AMERICAN FAMILY) will play Sutton, Anthony Azizi (24) will play Mo, and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali (CROSSING JORDAN) will play Jelani.

Feb 26: Andromeda: With Tyr departing Andromeda for season four, Dylan Hunt is getting a new friend name Lu. They are to have a Butch Cassidy and Sundance style relationship. The new season begins production April 21st. This series is now WAYYYYY off track.

Feb 26: Salem's Lot: Rob Lowe has been tapped by TNT to star in the mini-series "Salem's Lot", based on the Stephen King's novel. Lowe will play a journalist that returns to his New England hometown to find that it has been overrun with vampires. Mikael Salomon is set to direct from a screenplay by Peter Filardi (THE CRAFT). Production will begin in Australia in about two months.

Feb 26: Master Slips to November: Russell Crowe's epic adventure "Master & Commander" has slipped from its June release date to November 14th. 20th Century Fox believes this is the best time to release the film.

Feb 26: Submariner: Word in the comic world is that comic book crazy actor Nicolas Cage is in training for the role of Prince Namor, aka the Submariner. While seen in a gym working out, Cage commented that he was working out for the role. Cage is so hot to do a comic adaptation. He was to have been Superman and Ghost Rider at one time or another. Submariner is quickly being push into production. Actor Mark Ducascos (Brotherhood of the Wolf & Crying Freeman) would be a much better Namor, and looks the image used in the comic books.

Feb 26: Goonies II: The Movihole.net website has learned that Sean Ashton is interested in directing Goonies II should Richared Donner pass on the gig. Astin too, has an idea for the sequel, but when he spoke to Spielberg about it, he told Astin that he already had a story.

Feb 26: True Lies II: All the actors involved are hot to return, except James Cameron (no surprise there). Tom Arnold is at it again telling the Latino Review website that the project is back on again, and everyone is signed. They are due to have a meeting with James Cameron next week. Take this one with a grain of salt readers. Cameron keeps telling everyone this project is NOT going to happen.

Feb 25: Elric of the Big Screen: About a Boy production has optioned the rights to the 11 novels of Michael Moorcocks classic character "ULRIC". The albino adventurer and soul stealing sword will be making their way to the big screen.  Moorcocks other great series Gor series is the other, but only the first ten books are really worth reading. Moorecock will produce and hopes to have meaningful input on the project.

Feb 25: Thundercats Whoa!: The Rankin/Bass website has posted news that a live action feature based on the Thundercats animated series. There is also a direct to video animated feature in work. Thunder! Thunder! Thundercats... Hooooo!

Feb 24: Next Gen Uncut: Starting in March, TNN will be dedicated to a broadcast and basic cable first -- uncut episodes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation." Every Friday night in March, TNN will air consecutive themed episodes of the show in their pristine original form.TNN will air two episodes per night with limited commercial interruption, as they were meant to be seen, without the editing that inevitably occurs when inserting ad breaks. TNN will also
eliminate the black bar that currently rests on the bottom of the screen containing the network logo and program information -- a bane of fans' existence -- allowing the show to appear in full-screen glory. These changing are in response to fan requests for a purer product on TNN. "Presenting 'Next Gen' episodes uncut is a television first," says Kevin Kay, executive vice president, programming and production for TNN. "We've been listening to our 'Trek' viewers and are giving them this special opportunity to view their favorite episodes." In addition to uncut "Next Generation," TNN will also air the entire series in sequence starting on Monday, March 3. These episodes, spanning the series' seven seasons, will be presented in TNN's normal format. (Ron Wolfe & Zap2it.com)

Feb 24: Cobb Leaves Andromeda: This cut is HUGE folks. Co-star Keith Hamilton Cobb, who plays Tyr, will not be a regular in season four of Andromeda. Tribune does have an option for four episodes next season but will likely NOT make use of him at all. Cobb has already cut his hair done a few television appearances. Tribune is killing this series. (Ron Wolfe)

Feb 24: Captain America: Daredevil director Mark Steven Johnson mentioned to E online that he is toying with the idea of developing films for Captain America and Ghost Rider. If he does Captain America, he needs to be sure Hawk is with him.

Feb 24: Universal Porks Employees: Universal's parent company in Paris has order Universal Studios to cut $250 million from the budget. Rather than cut one or two big-wigs making all the money they have started cutting the working stiffs, of course. They have already laid Electricians, office workers, and plumbers. Oh, and executive bonus will be cut by as much as half. If paycuts are in order to cut the budget why in the HELL are these morons getting any bonus at all? Jesus Christ already, you taking away peoples lively hoods and still giving out bonuses. (Scott Strout)

Feb 24: Lone Ranger: Mark it on the calendars boys and girls, one week from Wednesday and the WB will air the new Lone Ranger Pilot Telefilm.  If this telefilm develops into a new series you can likely place a stake firmly in Angels heart.

Feb 24: Ghost Rider: Keifer Sutherland (24) is reportedly rumored to be the front-runner to play the comic book character Ghost Rider. A role once coveted by Nicolas Cage.

Feb 24: Thunderbirds: Top Gun and E.R. star Anthony Edwards has landed the role of Brains in the live action feature based on the puppet series, "the Thunderbirds".

Feb 24: Dinocroc: Roger Corman is at it again with a new film actually using the most special effects ever in one of his movies. A small town is ravaged by a giant crocodile somehow resurrected from the prehistoric age. Starring in the upcoming B film will be Constance Mandalor, Charles Napier, and Bruce Weitz.

Feb 24: The Knight Falls: Michael Knight, aka David Hasselhoff and his wife were injured in a motorcycle accident, when the wind blew the cycle against the curb causing the duo to take a tumble. The 50 year old Hasselhoff suffered lower back fracture and a broken rib, while his 39 year old wife, Pamela Bach, end up with a fractured ankle and broken wrist.

Feb 24: Daredevil: Two-weeks and $70 million later you wonder if the film is going to finish up well enough to warrant at least two more films to finish up the standard trilogy? The film has done well, but it is enough? The film could finish up with about $165 Million in the U.S. DD finished up in first place at the box office for the second straight week.

Feb 24: Iron Man: If IGN rumors of Leonardo DiCaprio being the front runner to play Tony Stark aka Iron Man, then kiss the feature film good-bye. He appears to be New Lines wish list, while Marvel wants Tom Cruise. Who would you want?

Feb 24: Matrix Mom: Carrie-Ann Moss, of Matrix fame, is 35 years old and expecting her first child with husband and actor Steven Roy. Moss has also done television appearing in such series as "No Where Man" on UPN, the syndicated series "FX: the Series" and "Spiderman". Her nude scene in Red Planet was waaaaayy to short.

Night of The Shriekers
A Little Paranoia Among Friends
Flora or Fauna
Graboid Rights
Water Hazard
The Key

Feb 24: Nemesis DVD: Fans can forget the missing 30 minutes of deleted footage in the DVD of Star Trek: Nemesis. The single disc will include just seven deleted scenes and they will not be restored into the film.  Paramount is likely saving it for the Special Edition two disc set they are doing with all the feature films.

Feb 23: Homeland Securities: Veteran actor Scott Glenn (Backdraft, Silverado, Gargoyles, Urban Cowboy) comes to television and will play a CIA agent on the verge of retirement in "Homeland Security," a fictionalized look at the fight against domestic terrorism. After the Sept. 11 attacks, he puts off leaving his job to work at the new Office of Homeland Security. (zap2it.com)

Feb 23: Spongebob: My god, what the hell happen to Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner? I would keel over if my kid was hot for a talking Sponge. I don't want to hear anything about it - a talking sponge. At least Christmas is cheap, picking up a pack of sponges for your kid. Jeez!

Feb 20: Baywatch: Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding will air Friday - Feb. 28th at 8pm in a two-hour special on Fox. Appearing will be David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, Carmen Electra, Gina Lee Nolan, and Alexandra Paul will be appearing in the telefilm. Mitch will be getting married to someone who looks like the deceased Stephanie (played by Paul). The gang shows up for the wedding.

Feb 20: Battlestar Galactica: Is Battlestar Galactica in DVD hell after the most recent indefinite hold on the DVD seasonal boxed set? Might be, but the Sci-Fi Channel is currently airing the episodes declaring them to be remastered. They did the same thing after the original Star Trek episodes were done for DVD. This could mean the series DVD boxed set will hit stores soon.

Feb 20: Boxed Set Pricing: Has anyone else noticed the wavering boxed set pricing? Some series, like Farscape's season one boxed series selling at $115, while Babylon 5's boxed set can be had as low as $60. Last Night I found the first three season of MASH selling for $30 each. Sure it's only 24 half-hour episodes, but look at the price. There are so many series coming to DVD in boxed sets, but what is it going to cost fans to have just one series on DVD. Star Trek, the Next Generation is costing fans over $750 to own the complete series. Is any series worth that much to have? It makes one wonder, and become very selective on which series joins the home library.

Feb 20: Highlander DVD: As everyone knows, "The Highlander" season one boxed set is out. But I did find "Best Buy" selling the boxed sets for $59.99 yesterday. An excellent price for any 22 one-hour episode season. Anchor Bay is already planning more Highlander seasonal boxed sets.

Feb 20: Alias Changes: Fans will here many reasons for the demise of SD-6, but it still comes down to nothing more than ratings. The stories involving CIA agents working as double agents an evil fake government agent, SD-6, was deemed to complicated for many new fans to catch up on. ABC feels the series is to difficult for many to ingest and therefore makes it hard for the series to bring in new fans. Creator JJ Abrams will be taking the series in a new direction, likely one geared more to the average viewer than dedicated watcher. If the ratings don't improve soon the series could be trouble for Jennifer Garner and Alias. Here's a quote the man himself to Zap2it.com, "If you're a fan of the show, [the convoluted premise] has no bearing on you," Abrams says. "But if you're someone who just happens to tune in -- you couldn't deny the constant anecdotal evidence that people did have trouble understanding what the show was about. Even fans of the show would have difficulty sometimes." Although ABC hasn't said yet whether ALIAS will return for a third season, the show's writers are proceeding as if that were the case. The end of this season is already planned, and Abrams is clearly excited about it.

Feb 20: Xena/Hercules DVD: Man, I'm on the DVD road today for some reason. What I get for walking around Best Buy for over an hour. Anyways, Anchor Bay has bought the home video rights to Xena & Hercules and are planning to release both in seasonal boxed sets in the near future.

Feb 20: Blade III is the Last: Marvel's Avi Arad has confirmed that Blade III will be Wesley Snipes last as Blade, the vampire hunter. Fans might be able to look forward to the proposed "Blade III series".

Feb 20: Brothers Grimm: Heath Ledger, Matt Damon and Robin Williams are nearly set to co-star in the fantasy "Brothers Grimm", which is being done by MGM. Production is set to begin in June... in Prague.

Feb 20: Daredevil II: It's to early for a green light on the sequel, but the impressive opening weekend has helped make the decision to get started with sequel scripts, as well as an Electra script. Only Collin Ferrell (Bullseye) is not signed for the sequel.

Feb 20: The Doctor Is In: Raiders of the Lost Ark actor, Alfred Molina will be taking on the role of Doctor Octopus in the Amazing Spiderman. Molina has also appeared in Boogie Nights, Not Without My Daughter, Maverick, and Dudley- Do-right.

Feb 20: Furlong in The Doors?: Edward Furlong (from T2 and now a famous drug addict) has been tipped to star in the fourth Crow feature and is now rumored to star in the Doors inspired film, "Riders on the Storm". This project would likely film once The Crow 4 wraps.  Furlong's career was basically in the toilet. He gets onto the T3 project and gets booted for a severe drug problem. Now he's to lead in two new projects. Nothing like Hollywood showing that being a drug addict can take you places.

Feb 20: Be a Matte Painter: Ronn Brown, former digital matte supervisor and artist at Industrial Light + Magic (ILM), has signed on as an instructor at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale (AiFL) and Miami International University of Art & Design. Brown has worked on such films as "Star Wars," "Planet of the Apes," "Pearl Harbor," "Shindler's List" and "Men in Black" and this year, his work on "Gangs of New York" has been nominated in the inaugural Visual Effects Society Awards for best matte painting in a motion picture. (VFXPro.com)

Feb 20: Canada Cuts Taxes: The US might get even more pissed off about features bolting for other parts of the world to save money. The Canadian government of Jean Chrétien has decided to raise tax incentives for foreign movie productions. The move is expected to offset the elimination of a controversial tax-shelter scheme last year that had resulted in a withdrawal of numerous U.S. productions. Under the government plan, production tax credits will rise to 16 percent from 11 percent. At the same time the government will slash its funding for Canadian -based TV production from $100 million a year to $75 million for the next two years.

Feb 20: New Mage Writer: The feature based on the comic book character, Mage is getting a new writer. After watching Spiderman Producer Andrew Colby thought the Mage should be more serious and has taken on the writing duties himself. Colby seems to see the film similar in writing to Lord of the Rings rather than Spiderman.

Feb 20: Superman: SFX house Cytonia Entertainment has been hired to create several FX shots for the upcoming film.

Feb 19: Van Helsing: The official website is up and running with some limited material, but the images make you really want to see this Stephen Sommers film. It is slated for a May 2004 release. Visit the official website and see for yourself. CLICK HERE for the official webiste. (VFX Pro)

Feb 19: Smallville: The WB's Smallville was a huge winner last night earning a 6.0/9 rating - a 13% increase from last week.

Feb 19: JAG: It's hard to be number one when dismal reality series are sucking all the people in, but CBS's veteran series JAG did extremely well against American Idol earning a solid 10.5/15 share. Most TV viewers only care about what they like now. They don't think about where TV will be, much less what will be on, when these crap-based reality series die out.

Feb 19: Catwoman: Ashley Judd has found a way to act as if she is backing out of Catwoman if she doesn't get the role. Her agent told the studio that if here Broadway schedule is interrupted by Catwoman she will dump the role. The project is slated to begin production later this year with director Pitof at the helm. Nicole Kidman has yet to say yes or no over her offer to star, and Michelle Pfeiffer, who originally played Catwoman in the Batman features, has already stated that she is NOT interested in returning to the role. She wanted to do the film with Tim Burton and he is no longer a part of the project.

Feb 19: Marvel Spin-Offs: Cost can't keep a good family together. Doing team movies like X-Men, and likely Fantastic Four will be, keeping name actors together isn't cost effective for studios. Marvel has announced solo projects for Wolverine and Storm. Avi Arad believes both characters could do well in origin stories on the big screen.  (Superherohype.com)

Feb 19: Jim Rygiel to Speak: Visual Effects Supervisor, Jim Rygiel, for Lord of the Rings is set to speak at the Australian Animation and Effects Festival in Melbourne on May 12th & 13th. His presentation will include insight into the creation of the digital Gollum in "The Two Towers".

Feb 19: Daredevil DVD: Fans can expect the DVD cut of Daredevil to be very different from what went to the big screen. The film has to be toned down, and cut for time. The DVD will have extended scenes and be a bit more violent as was originally intended.

Feb 19: Dare Scores: The opening weekend was wonderful for Daredevil. The feature took in $47.3 million over the holiday weekend.

Feb 19: Young Indy to DVD?: If you check out the images of the upcoming Indiana Jones DVD cover art over at thedigitalbits.com website you can see that they are numbered at the bottom. Raiders of the Lost Ark as number 24, Temple of Doom as 23, and Last Crusade as 25. It leads one to believe the Young Indy Series is also being slated for a DVD release.

Feb 19: Doc Ock Enough: Marvel's Avi Arad has told people that Spidey will only be dealing with one villain in the sequel and likely picking Doctor Octopus puts you "in the ballpark". Me... I would love to see Venom and Carnage. Great villains in the comic books for Spiderman.

Feb 19: HBO Gets Stupid: Pay Cable network HBO has paid $15 million bucks for the exclusive show rights to Star Wars: Episode II. The deal also gives them limited rights to the other four films, as well as giving them an opportunity to get the rights to the final film in the franchise.

The ninth film is scheduled for a summer 2004 release and Miramax is determined not to allow the franchise to become a direct to video line of movies. Halloween 8 was weakly received at the box office.

Feb 19: Black Panther: Wesley Snipes is pretty sure that Blade III will be the final chapter in the Blade franchise. The actor is hot to do Black Panther once Blade III is completed.

Feb 19: Dick Tracy: Comic book character gets animated in a new series. The new Dick Tracy series will set the square-jawed crime fighter on the trail of a new crop of law-breaking villains and, of course, will feature Tracy's array of detective gadgets, including the famous wrist radio. The animated series will be done by the Los Angeles based animation house Film Roman.

Feb 18: MegaMan: NT Warrior: Kids' WB is teaming up again with the producer of longtime ratings hit "Pokemon" to bring Japanese cartoon "MegaMan: NT Warrior" to American living rooms. The show follows 10-year-old Lan and her superhero alter ego, Mega Man. The story is set in the not-so-distant future, where everything is connected to a central computer system and threatening hackers loom. Kids' WB will add "MegaMan" to its schedule this summer. "It's part 'Matrix,' part 'Pokemon,"' said Kids WB programming executive John Hardman. "We do consider this a high marquee property and expect it will hit just as strongly in the U.S." (Scott Strout)

Feb 18: Monster Inc. II: According to John Goodman, who voiced Sulley in last year's MONSTERS, INC, there won't be a sequel to the smash animated hit. Says Goodman, "As far as I know, the guys at Pixar are opposed to a MONSTERS, INC sequel. They said there's no reason to do one unless someone comes up with a really good second storyline. I think they're more interested in doing little shorts like MIKE'S NEW CAR, which featured Sulley."

Feb 18: Crow: Apparently Edward Furlong (TERMINATOR 2) has been locked in as the star of the upcoming fourth movie based on THE CROW. THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER will begin filming on April 21. Furlong will play a man, who, with his girlfriend, his murdered in a cult ritual and is then turned into the avenging spirit.

The Incredibles" will be the first project from Pixar using the new hardware.

Feb 16: iO Film Gets New Man: Adam Hawkey has been named lead compositor and color timer for iO Films newly created position. Hawkey freelanced before landing this sweet job, working on projects like Halloween: Resurrection and Red Planet. iO Film is a full-service digital film-finishing boutique.

Feb 16: The Lost World: Despite official word that negotiations were done, comes another rumor that negotiations are back on again. Syndication ratings for the series have been so good, sometimes earning ratings near what first run sci-fi syndication series are getting, that it has lead the wheelers and dealers of the series back to the table once more. Season Four could still happen next fall. Keep those fingers crossed.

Feb 16: Fastlane Sucks: This series is NO Miami Vice. Quality old cars and nice photography, with little flash. You can blow this show up, it's done. I found nothing exciting, fresh or interesting in Friday nights airing of Fastlane. The acting on the show is dismal, and the stories far from Vice's worst episodes. With a major overhaul this could be a decent show.

Feb 16: Saturday Night Shit: What the hell are TV addicts suppose to watch on Saturday nights? My god, I've been on swingshift for the past four years and seldom got a Saturday night off. Lucky me - until I came to days. Rather than watching a film on VHS or DVD, I wanted to catch the signals from digital cable. There was nothing on... as I ended up watching Octopus I & II on the Sci-Suck Channel doing this update. Whew... sure miss the days of "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island" on Saturday Nights.

Feb 16: Spidey Series: ZENtertainment has an interesting story/rumor about a possible Peter Parker series coming to the WB in the favor of Smallville. It's title? Peter Parker of course. The interesting thing is... the WB doesn't have the TV rights to Marvel's Spiderman to do a series. Time will tell though if they get the rights to do it.

Feb 16: Marvel Rules: While Warner Brothers sits on the DC properties, and beats the shit out of Batman and Superman, Marvel is setting itself up for a decent future in the feature film business. With Spiderman and the X-Men hitting their stride in Sequels, fans are getting Daredevil this weekend, with the Incredible Hulk patient waiting it's turn at the box office. On the horizon fans are getting the Punisher, Man-Thing, Iron Man, Iron Fist, Prince Namor, the Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider and the Silver Surfer. Fans could be looking at a kick-ass Wolverine picture in the future.

Feb 16: Site Updates: There have been a many updates to the site in the last week beyond the daily news page. A new Tom Mix article has been uploaded, the Movie Mania, and channel news have also had new material updated. Receiving a temporary face-lift is the GREAT LINKS area. There were some dead links and I have removed some links that haven't been updated - plus others that don't have their own .com addresses. Enjoy!

Feb 14: Superman: New rumor as of this moment... Brett Ratner is about 99% sure that Josh Harnett is his... man of steel. While casting in NYC Hartnett apparently walked in and gave a performance that blew him away. (latino review.com) Yeah, I know, just today the Mutant X star was the front runner.

Feb 14: Daredevil: Reviews of the sneak peak are mixed but the film is slated to be critic proof for opening weekend. The film is projected to earn between $40 & $50 million over the holiday weekend and should easily hit the $150 million dollars range.

Feb 14: Angel: Genre actress Gina Torrez, recently joined the Agency with a recurring role, will be doing 3 episodes of Angel. She will play a "godlike" being who's been the guiding hand behind recent events on the show. That could mean she was the unseen being to whom The Beast made an offering in Wednesday's show, and that she was behind Cordelia's (Charisma Carpenter) turn to the dark side at the close of Wednesday's episode.

Feb 13: Galactica Names Names: Finally, key roles have been named for the Sci-Fi Channel mini-series "Battlestar Galactica". Starbuck will be played by 22 yr. old Katee Sackoff (Halloween: Resurrection). Apollo will be played by British actor Jamie Bamber, (Band of Brothers). Fans, real fans of Galactica, can look for the four-hour mini-series later this year. Expect it to likely be pushed back.

Feb 13: Harry 3: Harry Potter 3: the Prisoner of Azkaban is already going into production in West London.

Feb 13: Iron Man: New Line has hired Smallville creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough to take the first crack at scripting the feature film. New Line Cinema will team with Avi Arad's Marvel Studios and Don Murphy's Angry Films on the project, which is slated for a 2005 release.

Feb 12: The Punisher: Oscar writer Michael Tolkin has been brought in to work on the script for director Jonathan Hensleigh.

Feb 12: Man-Thing Gets Cheap: In just two-months Marvel Comics will begin production on a low budget Man-Thing feature film. Filming will take place in New Orleans under director, Brett Leonard - who directed Virtuosity and Lawnmower Man. (sci-fi wire)

Feb 12: Angel in May: The WB will let fans know in May whether Angel will be vamping up another season on the Frog network. Signs are good for the renewal, but with the WB you never know. If it's cancelled do not expect a UPN last minute pick-up. Management has changed at UPN and they would not be interest... at this time.

Feb 11: The Agency: Firefly star Gina Torrez has joined the cast of CBS Saturday night series "the Agency" as Dacia. Torrez has mostly done genre series appearing on Xena/Hercules, Cleopatra 2525 and Firefly. Gina Torrez is currently married to Matrix star Laurence Fishburne.

Feb 8: AOL: Ted Turner has sold off $11 million worth of AOL stock within days of announcing his retirement. Dump that stuff while you can get something for it.

Feb 7: Venom: Rumors persist that fans will see Venom in the third Spiderman film. Carnage would be an awesome second baddy for the film. It is also possible that Venom could be a spin-off franchise for Sony.

Feb 7: JMS Helping Spiderman: The master of Science Fiction, and one hell of a writer, J. Michael Straczynski has reportedly been brought in to fix the script for "The Amazing Spiderman". JMS wrote several Spiderman comic books for Marvel.

Feb 7: No Wars Originals on DVD: Lucas has officially announced that only the Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi SPECIAL EDITIONS will be making it to DVD. This is how he envisioned the films to originally be, but time and money restraints did not allow him to make them at the time. (Force.net)

Feb 7: Major Rings Reshoot: Nearly all of the original cast will be making a trip to New Zealand for reshoots before the December release.

Feb 7: Dracula Resort: Romania will open a 520 acre Dracula Theme Park near Snagov Lake. It's near where Vlad the Impaler is buried. The $31.5 million upscale resort, built on government land, will have a spooky gothic castle, restaurants, hotel, zoo and golf course.

Feb 7: Potter Price Increase: The popularity of Harry Potter is obviously biting fans in the ass. The fifth Harry Potter book will have its highest price yet at $29.99 and be the highest priced children's novel in history. Order of the Phoenix is already breaking records before its release. (e-online) It sure sucks that by showing support the publishing house screws the buyer.

Feb 7: Mutant Superman: IGN is reporting that Canadian Mutant X actor, Victor Webster has landed the lead role as Superman. The 30 year old actor plays Brennan Mulwray on the syndicated Tribune Entertainment series Mutant X.

Feb 7: More Andromeda Changes: For season four almost everyone that started the series will be gone. VFX Supervisor Jim Finn departs at the end of the season, as I have already told you. Four writers are also leaving after season three for new projects (Matt, Joe, Zach and Ash). Larry and Paul Barber from the X-Files will be filling two of the vacant seat at the table for season four. Also joining them will be LeFemme Nakita writer Naomi Janzen. The producers are also planning to bring in some freelance writers to join the core team.

Feb 7: Have Gun, Will Travel: The popular western starring Richard Boone is coming to the big screen from Paramount. Daniel Pyne will write the screenplay for the film, which has been fast tracked. Richard Boone starred in the series as Paladin, a man who had two lives: that of a successful businessman in San Francisco and the other a "justice-seeking knight," carrying out justice with his six-shooter. The film will be a prequel of sorts to the show, as it will feature Paladin in 1875, as he discovers what his purpose is and he moves west to San Francisco to run away from his dark past in the East.

Feb 7: A C.O.R.E. Decision: Producer David Foster told the Sci-Fi Wire the space shuttle crash scene will remain in the film and intact. It's a very heroic crash with the shuttle landing in the L.A. River Basin. It's a pretty exceptional visual effects sequence.

Feb 7: Die Hard 4: Die Stupid: This film could be in big trouble. The franchise was made on a smart mouthed, gun slinging madman who saves the innocent, while kicking the shit out of the bad guys. The latest reports have McClane using just one pistol and firing it only twice. For the rest of the film he beats up the bad guys trying to rescue his kidnapped daughter.  What is up with that? It's not what made the franchise famous. It isn't what fans of the trilogy want to see.  If Bruce Willis can't appreciate what the franchise is, and what the fans want, then don't do the friggin' film. Willis hasn't had a hit in years. Action is his calling and he's turned his back on it.

Feb 7: Rings 3: The final film in the trilogy will run about 3.5 to 4 hours. Can you imagine how long the entire trilogy uncut will be when it comes to dvd?

Feb 7: Peter Pan: Can you believe some idiot will spend $200 million dollars to remake PETER PAN? Man! The shooting schedule is in trouble as lead actor Jeremy Sumpter has broken his foot. The shooting schedule has been thrown into a disarray filming scenes without Sumpter. He'll be laid up several more weeks and work could stop all together. (moviehole.net

Feb 7: Twilight Zone-Less: It's hard on any series to follow one of the Star Trek franchise series. Twilight Zone is nothing new. The series failed to keep its Enterprise lead-in audience. The ratings for the Twilight Zone earned a dismal 2.5/4 share compared to it's lead in, Enterprise with a 4.2/6 share. Other series have earned equal ratings to the Twilight Zone and still took it in the ass by UPN. No Where Man, The Sentinel, Seven Days, the Strip, Secret Agent Man, and Special Unit 2, All quality series by UPN standards but couldn't hold the Star Trek audience numbers.

Feb 5: AOL Sucks: AOL is already $25.8 Billion in debt and will be increasing that amount by another $4.7 Billion to meet in the coming months to meet certain obligations. How fucked up is our society when we'll allow a company $29 Billion in debt to simply add another $5 Billion over a few months. This company should be forced to pay its debt before borrowing anything. This company could simply take the $5 Billion and file chapter 11. It is unlikely in any respect that AOL will pay off this debt.

Feb 5: No Doe: Fox has pulled an episode of John Doe that deals with the death of an astronaut. It is unknown if the episode will ever air. It was to involve the mysterious appearance of an astronaut in a forest outside of Seattle and there are whispers of a connection with Doe and the astronaut throughout the episode.

Read the current interviews with sculptor Robert Blair and writer Richie Levine. CLICK HERE for the Interview Main Page.

Feb 4: Berman Kills Trek: No one wanted to believe it when I told you before and many, many, many times that Rick Berman is BAD for Star Trek. At the Sci-Fi Wire Berman mentions many things that might have hurt Star Trek Nemesis, except... taking blame himself for the franchise's demise. Rick Berman has a wonderful idea in Enterprise, but the crappy writing kills the show. Berman also continues to bring in the Next Gen cast when there are two other series to pick characters from. He keeps the series in the standard boring stream that the Next Generation was in, never pushing the envelope like Deep Space Nine did. The franchise is in dire straits and fans can look to one man, Rick Berman for the problem. Gee, thanks Rick... I love what you've done to my show.

Feb 4: Swamp Thing: Joel Silver has another project in work. He has hired Len Wein to pen an updated version of the story. (filmjerk.com)

Feb 4: Deep Space Nine: The first season of Deep Space Nine is available in a DVD boxed set. Yes, it did indeed release with the horrendous cover posted here earlier. Will the set sell? Likely not. It priced at a ridiculous $139.99 price tag. What the hell is up with that?

Feb 4: Tarzan Selected: Aussie model Travis Fimmel has been selected to star in the WB's drama TV series "Tarzan". Another new comer named Sarah Wayne Callies plays Jane. The series focuses on Tarzan as a young man as he is brought from the jungle to his childhood home, New York, by his uncle, the head of Greystoke Enterprises. In this version, Jane is a fiery police detective.

Feb 4: Crusade: Arnold won't give up on this one. According to the Arnoldfan.com website the Schwartzenegger has done a handshake with James Cameron to do the film in the future.  There will be NO True Lies 2. Feb 4: Spidey & Daredevil: They often crossed over in the comic book world. But you won't see it on the big screen. Sony owns the feature rights to Spiderman, while Fox & Regency have the rights to Daredevil. To bad, they made a great team whether working together or going head to head. That sucks.

Feb 4: No Aquaman: It's being reported at the animation insider website has learned that the proposed Aquaman animated series is literally dead in the water.

Feb 3: Spiderman 2: From Moviehole.net: James Franco reports that we won't see another version of the Green Goblin in the second film. He also believes Spiderman will fight Dr. Doom & the Sandman. (He seems out of the loop when reports are that fans will be seeing Doc Ock and the Lizard). Says Franco, "Harry Osborn doesn't become ... I don't know, evil so much as troubled. The Green Goblin has a madness to him and is taken over by this and Harry, I think, goes in the same direction. His father was his whole life and it was the goal towards which he was striving. And his dad's taken away from him just when he gets acceptance, so he never has that. It spins him off into a sort of madness. So yeah, I guess that's where Harry goes. It's always more enjoyable to do that."

Feb 3: Willard: There is now a website up and running for the new Crispin Glover feature Willard. CLICK HERE to check out the new site. Willard is a remake of the 70's feature about a man who has rats for friends that do his bidding... for a while.

Feb 3: King Conan: With all the crap that happened with King Conan, now everything is back on track again. The Wachowski Bros are back on board, and have gotten Warner and John Milius together. This will be the Wachowski's next project with the Matrix sequels finally wrapping up. Arnold appear to be onboard as well. All that appears to be missing is the son of Conan. (Arnoldfan.com)

Now Sophia Myles (Lady Penelope), Ben Kingsley (the Hood - evil international criminal), the sons will be played by Philip Winchester (Scott), Lex Shrapnel (John), Dominic Colenso (Virgil) and Ben Torgenson (Gordon). Just in 2.4.03... Brady Corbett has been picked to play Alan Tracy and Lady Penelope's chaeffeur will be played by Robin Cook.

Feb 3: Mindhunters: The Rinny Harlin FBI thriller starring Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, and LL Cool J has slipped its release date five months to January 9th of 2004.

Feb 3: Birds of Prey: There will be no appeals, no saves and no return for Birds of Prey. The series is done with no one picking up the series. The sets are gone and the cast has moved on. This was from Batgirl (Oracle) Dina Myers at the Comics and Pop culture Convention in Pasadena, California. Says Meyer, "All of the actors have kind of moved on," Meyer said. "We've come to terms with the fact that we're not coming back."

According to DVDtoons.com Disney is releasing Special Edition DVDs featuring episodes of the X-Men and Incredible Hulk animated shows. The discs will be similar to animated Spider-Man DVDs that have been released and contain some special features. X-Men hits first with an April 29th release date, and the Hulk follows on June 17th.

If there is a spin-off series James Marsters, and Nicolas Brendan would be onboard as well.

Feb 1: Columbia Lost Today: Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of Shuttle Columbia today. At approx. 9am the Space Shuttle exploded above east Texas during its reentry toward Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Terrorism has apparently been ruled out in the accident. There are no survivors. Columbia was cruising about 200,000 miles above Texas at 12,500 miles per hour when the incident occurred, just 16 minutes before its scheduled landing.

In anticipation of the 300th episode James Lofton sat down with the accomplished ensemble to meet the actors behind the voices in order to discover how they have managed to create such a wealth of believable and beloved characters. (Brian Pesti)

Feb 1: Recording Popularity: Genre recording junkies are what push the market for DVD recorders and their prices dropping. Sci-Fi & Action fans account for 56% of the recording media market. The percentage increases to 69% when you add in the Horror/Thriller fans. Comedy comes in around 19%. Science Fiction fans dominate with 34% alone. By the summer prices for recorders should be down to the $200 to $300 price range. Computer DVD burners are already in this range.

Feb 1: Alias On the Bubble: Fans of Alias might want to get the cards and letters ready - the save the show web domain name bought and sites designed designed. ABC is getting tired of Alias, despite the post superbowl ratings. Even with the 14.7 ratings it was the lowest post superbowl rated program ever. If the ratings don't start an upswing soon Jennifer Garner will be spending all her time as Electra on the big screen. Alias kicks ass people, but for some it might be too complicated. Like so many other shows, ratings rein supreme, quality does not.

Feb 1: Danger Girl: 7th Heaven goody turned bad, Jessica Biel, is being sought after to star in UPN's new "Danger Girl". The series is based on J. Scott Campbell's comicbook of the same name, which revolved around a trio of female espionage agents.
