30: Enterprise: I find it
amazing that UPN is just sitting with their heads up their asses while
Enterprise and Jake 2.0 get pounded in the ratings each week. How do
you save the shows and improve the ratings? Tough if you don't move
them. Smallville & Angel are dominating the night, and even though
Enterprise is probably having its best season and Jake 2.0 is a decent
series people aren't tuning in. Many that I know, watch the WB and
record UPN to watch the shows later. That doesn't earn ratings for UPN.
Why not a million dollar or two give-a-way in prizes. Something that
can be carried out over a four week period, and must be reported
during the run of the show to count. Make people watch, and after the
give-a-way maybe some will stay because they find out they like the
series.
Oct
30: Ghost Rider: The Marvel
Comics project Ghost Rider, to star Nicolas Cage, has had production
pushed back late into 2004, which means a summer 2005 release at the
earliest. (yahoomovies.com)
Oct
30: Resident Evil: Apocalypse:
The sequel to poor performing original has been pushed back for months
to September 24th. (yahoomovies.com)
Oct
30: UFO May Return: The
British based series looks to be reworked for the US. UFO is being
adapted for US Television by Carlton America, the US based arm of the
UK's Carlton. "Outer Limits" veterans Pen Densham, Neil
Kaplan and John Watson of Trilogy Entertainment are doing the
work.
Oct
28: No Jinx: MGM has pulled
the plug on its proposed James Bond spin-off feature based on the
character Jinx.
Oct
28: Nightingale: UPN is
developing a new supernatural series based around a woman who's guided
by unseen forces to fight evil at night, but has no memory of doing so
once the sun rises. Brandon Camp and Mike Thompson (John Doe)
are writing and executive producing via Sony Pictures Television.
Oct
28: Navy: NCIS: The new CSI
series spun-off from a JAG episode has been picked up for the full
season by CBS.
Oct
28: Joan: CBS has also picked
up surprise hit (I still don't care for the show) Joan of Arcadia for
a full first season.
Oct
28: Lions to buy Artisan: Lions
Gate is acquiring the Canadian based Artisan Entertainment. Lions gate
will purchase the company for about $155 million and assume an
additional $55 million in the companies debt. (Hollywood Reporter)
Oct
28: Phantom: Hyde Park and
Crusader Entertainment have hired Olympic gold medalist turned feature
film scribe Mel Stewart to pen a script based on the well known comic
strip. (Hollywood Reporter)
Oct
28: Laurence Fishburne: The
actor is following Russell Crowe's idea and is refusing to talk with
internet journalists. Rather than give a warning as Crowe did,
Fishburne simply refused to speak with them during a scheduled round
table for the online press. What an asshole move.
Oct
28: Rome: HBO and the BBC have
greenlit a 12 episode series based on the Ancient Roman Empire.
Production is scheduled to begin next year at Rome's Cinecitta Studios
with location shoots throughout Europe and North America. Rome has an
episode budget of a whopping $5 million. The project has been in
development for over three years. (Hollywood Reporter) This project
sounds really awesome.
Oct
26: V, The Return: With the
scripting underway, it looks like Marc Singer, Robert Englund, Faye
Grant and Jane Badler are going to return. All of them have expressed
an interest to return. Johnson however wants everyone to remember,
that at this point NO ONE is confirmed.
Oct
26: AvsP: The lead actress has
been hired to star in the upcoming Alien vs Predator feature film. She
is, Sanaa Lathan, and joins Lance Henriksen, Raoul Bova, and Ewen
Bremner.
Oct
26: Man-Thing: Artisan
Entertainment is set to bring Man-Thing to the big screen in a
collaboration with Marvel Studios and Fierce Entertainment. The
feature will star Jack Thompson, Matt Le Nevez, Rawiri Paratene, Steve
Bastoni, and Rachel Taylor. Post-Production is underway, and it's set
for theaters August 27, 2004. The $15 million budgeted horror flick
was once to be a direct to video film, but will be given a chance at
the box office. Horror flicks are the hot subject matter these days.
Investors want to see if Man-Thing can become a viable movie
franchise, aka Blade.
Oct
26: Not enough Blue:
Enterprise producers can't get enough of them blue Andorians. Jeffrey
Combs will again don the green costume and make-up for his recurring
Andorian character Shran. The episode will be titled Proving Ground.
So much for the expanse and kicking some alien ass. Isn't everything
in Enterprise tinged with... BLUE?
Oct
26: War of the Worlds RPG:
Gold Rush Games has come up with a War of the Worlds RPG source book.
It's based on the original science-fiction classic novel by H.G.
Wells. The book includes both the complete text of the original novel
by H.G. Wells, as well as a sourcebook containing information about
the people, places and equipment found in the novel. The source book
section includes Action! System and d20 System stats for the major
characters, the Martians and Martian equipment, allowing you to
incorporate The War of the Worlds into your adventure roleplaying game
using the Action! System or d20 System. The price on the
source book is $24.95.
Oct
26: Jake 2.0 Has a Hard Road:
UPN looks to be making sure that Enterprise and Jake 2.0 don't make it
beyond this season. Poor Jake is getting beat up despite the nanites
making him a bit more powerful. The show is being for to go head to
head with ABC's The Bachelor, WB's Angel, NBC's The West Wing,
and CBS's
Oct
23: Goonies II: the sequel to
Goonies looks to be getting underway pretty soon. Richard Donner has
been seen in Astoria scouting locations for months. The script is
complete and he's told most of the cast that Speilberg has given the
thumbs up for the project. The reason for the wait has been on Sean
Astin, who been doing re-shoots for the final Lord of the Rings film.
Goonies 2 is scheduled to be release to coincide with the twentieth
anniversary of the original film. (moviehole.net)
Oct
23: Andromeda Slips: The
number one syndicated series Andromeda and number two show Mutant X
ratings have fallen below the 2.0 mark while She Spies jumps to the
number one spot as the number one syndicated first run show with a 2.4
rating. Repeats of Stargate SG-1 is number two in the overall genre
ratings at 2.1. Mutant X and Andromeda have fallen to 1.8 each. This
could have something to do with the baseball playoffs. What is amazing
is that Tribune Entertainment has beat the hell out of Andromeda
changing the series plot and cast members to improve ratings and the
ratings have remained the same through its four seasons.
Oct
22: UFO: The 26 episodes of
the series UFO are slated for boxed set release on Oct. 28, 2003. The
8 DVD set will include extras for an unimpressive $79.99.
Oct
22: King Arthur: Clive Owens
has landed the role of King Arthur in the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer
Arthur flick. (Chicago Sun)
Oct
22: Alien vs Predator: Filming
on the film begins shooting next week in Prague.
Oct
22: Pirates Trilogy: After
Disney said this sequel would be the last one based on a park ride
comes word that Disney is now considering filming two Pirates of the
Caribbean sequels back to back ala Matrix. The company has seen what a
box office bonanza Lord of the Rings and Matrix have/will be. They
want to cash in on the cash cow too.
Oct
21: Enterprise HD News: Finally
today, Enterprise fans will be happy to learn that the show will now
be broadcast in full 1080i HD resolution by UPN affiliates starting
with tomorrow night's episode, thanks to a new promotional partnership
with Zenith. So there's another good reason to pick up that new
widescreen Digital TV. (Bruce)

Oct
20: Massacre: The new version
of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre opened at the box office in the top
spot this weekend taking in an estimated $29.1 million.
Oct
20: Pirates Steal at the Box Office:
Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean hit the $300 million mark over the
weekend. The only other film hitting that mark this year was another
Disney flick, Finding Nemo.
Oct
17: A Sell Out: AICN ruler
Harry Knowles has agreed to produce a comedy titled Ghost Town for
Revolution Studios, based on his own pitch to them. This brings to
light the many complaints against Knowle and the website for being
less than biased on their website over the past year or so. Hard to be
honest about feature films and rumors when your trying to get in. Time
to give up the website.
Oct
20: Ben Affleck, IDIOT-Savant:
Well, the underwhelming actor, has launch himself into the extreme
right wing idiot catagory thanks to his recent comments. The
politically challenged actor falls into the idiot catagory with the
likes of Susan Sarandon, The Dixie Chicks, Tim Robbins, and Alec
Baldwin. Real winners from the Hollywood world. Nice, real nice.
Oct
20: Pamela Anderson: Porn star
and actress, we use that term loosely, is going after KFC for their
treatment of chickens and they way they are killed. I would like her
to be informed that all these chickens demanded a beheading after
being subjected to one of Anderson's acting performances. Her best
performances were below the waist in the Pam and Tommy video.
Oct
20: Cold Cases: CBS has
ordered an unknown amount of new scripts for the new series doing
average in the ratings.
Oct
20: Joan of Arcadia: CBS has
not yet ordered a full season of the series, but did ask for six more
teleplays (scripts). The series is one of the bigger successes this
season, but I find the drama less than average family fair.
Oct
20: Las Vegas: As you may have
heard that the new series Las Vegas has had the back nine episodes
picked up by NBC.
Oct
17: Matrix Revolutions: The
third and final installment comes in at just 128 minutes. Much shorter
than the previous two films.
Oct
17: Van Helsing: The crew for
Van Helsing will get into the reunion mode for two-weeks beginning
Monday as they gather in LA to re-shoot some footage for the feature
film.
Oct
16: Sell Out: Harry Knowles
who runs AICN has struck a deal with Revolution Studios to produce a
comedy, Ghost Town, from his own pitch. Kind of hard to be un-biased
in your reviews and information when this happens. Puts the website
under the microscope as to just how honest can they really be on what
they report. It's a great thing for Knowles, but it's time to give up
the website.
Oct
16: New Syndication: Mutant X
and Andromeda as expected are still the top dogs in the scifi
syndicated first run market. Each series earning a 2.1 rating over
their first weeks. What is really unique is that repeats of Adventure
Inc. from its first and only season are still earning a 1.4
rating. This series should not have been canceled after its first
season. After cancellation Adventure Inc. has gain a monstrous
audience as more people have been given the opportunity to see
it.
Oct
16: Barbarella: The long
awaited project "Barbarella" from Drew Barrymore's
production company is finally moving forward after being on hold for
two years. Luckily the new Barbarella feature will NOT resemble the
1968 cheesey scifi adventure starring Jane Fonda. It will be based on
the two untranslated French comic books.
Oct
14: IMan Scripts For Sale:
Beginning October 17th on Ebay fans can begin bidding on Invisible Man
Scripts. Included will be writers first drafts (these are RARE) and
production drafts. These are real scripts, in good shape, that were
used by cast or crew. Six to Ten scripts will be put online at a time,
to be auctioned over a three day period. With a movie in development
and the cult fan base the series is becoming these could become quite
collectible.
Oct
14: Ash to Kick Ass: The Fangoria Website has confirmed
that Bruce Campbell will star (and kick ass) as ASH in the sequel to
Freddie vs Jason.
Oct
14: Die Hard 4: Mark Bomback
(the Godsend) has been hired to pen the script for Die Hard 4.
(Variety)
Oct
11: Bewitched: Saturday Night
Live alumni Will Farrell (Night at the Roxbury) has signed on to star
in the upcoming Bewitched feature film as Darrin Stevens. Bewitched is
based on the 60's television series turned movie franchise.
Oct
11: Jake 2.0: The new series
following Star Trek: Enterpise is proving it can carry the load. While
Enterprise is earning a 2.6 rating share, and Jake 2.0 is keeping most
of the lead in audience with a 2.3 audience share. UPN still needs to
move these two shows to another night. Smallville & Angel are
killing them in the ratings. OR... come up with a gimmick to pull in
viewers for several weeks. Guarantee an extended audience for a month
and see if you can keep some of them.
Oct
11: In Living Color: The
series that re-launched Jim Carrey's career is coming to DVD in the
near future.
Oct
11: Zorro 2 is On: Director
Martin Campbell has confirmed to LatinoReview.com that he will helming
the sequel to Zorro starring Antonio Banderas. Negotiations are in
progress with Catherine Zeta Jones to return and Anthony Hopkins
is interested to return in possible flashback scenes. Zorro 2 is
slated for a 2004 release. (darkhorizons.com)
Oct
11: King Conan: John Milius
plans to move ahead without Arnold Schwartzenegger. (page six)
Oct
11: Lost in Space Project Update:
Variety has learned that the WB will be paying out $2 million for the
pilot, and $1.2 million for each episode of the series. Best news of
all it that the robot will be there and Dr. Smith will NOT. While
having space creature, blaster weapons and all the goodies like that,
the series will be about they typical American family.
Oct
11: Nine Lives: The recently
reported Stephen Spielberg project for the Sci-Fi Channel will come in
at about 18 hours.
Oct
11: Alias Mom Tossed: I guess
it is possible to price yourself off a series - at least if your a
supporting role. Lena Olin who played Sydney's mother in Alias will
not be returning after asking for to much money.
Oct
11: Without a Trace: The
Bruckheimer series following another Bruckheimer project, CSI, is
taking a hold on the 10pm audience. The juggernaut ER, recently
upended from the number one drama spot by CSI, has Without a Trace
creeping up its ass now. The top four shows in the ratings are CSI
19.2/27, Friends 16.1/24, ER 15.4/22, and Without a Trace 13.1/19.
With Friends ending near mid-season Without a Trace could be in
the number two spot by seasons end. However, if the Friends audience
jumps to the number six show Scrubs or sevens Will & Grace things
could change drastically.
Oct
11: Untouchables: Director
Michael Bay and UC: Undercover creator Shane Salerno are teaming up
with ABC in a new pilot about the real-life war between Eliot Ness and
gangster Al Capone. Both would serve as executive producers on the new
series. Salerno is scripting the pilot and Bay will direct. (Cinescape.com)
Oct
9: Demonologist Network: Clive
Barker, who latest choices in projects have been horrible, is bring
his demons to NBC in a new series for the fall 2004 season. The pilot
titled "Demonologist" will be loosely based on the novel of
the same name from Gerald Daniel Brittle.
Oct
9: Lost In Space - Official:
The official word greenlighting the pilot for Lost in Space came today
as previously reported.
Oct
9: T4 News: Arnold is pretty
much out. Being considered now for the Terminator role is offering the
part to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Something that could put
a fire back into the franchise. Even Linda Hamilton is being asked
back for a dream sequence and they believe she might be interested.
John Mostow will NOT be helming the fourth film.
Oct
9: Catwoman: There is a rumor
floating around that Halle Berry is already trying to get out of her
sequel clause.
Oct
9: Lost in Space DVD: The DVD
boxed set of the first season will street January 13th, 2004. The
boxed set will inlcude all 29 first season episodes plus the unaired
pilot episode. The video is black and white, with mono sound in
English. The price is an outrageous MSRP of $79.99. Just how many
people will be interested at that price? Three? Four maybe? The set
should be priced at $30 to $40 per season. (digitalbits.com)
Oct 9: Comp USA/Good Guys:
Comp
USA is spending $55,000,000 to purchase the flailing Good Guys
company. Comp USA believes this will give them a special niche in the
industry to sell their components and install them. This would now
include HDTV, distributed audio, music servers, complete home theaters
and more.
Oct 8: I-Man Get Together:
Paul
Ben Victor and Vincent Ventresca (THE INVISIBLE MAN) are
teaming up for a television appearance but not as the underpaid
government agents, Hobbes and Fawkes. They will be sharing the
small screen as gambling buddies, Michael (Ben Victor) and
Elliot (Ventresca) in an upcoming episode of NBC’s new show, “Las
Vegas”. According to the PerseusProject web site, the two friends
were chosen for the roles because of their notable on-camera
chemistry and are enjoying the reunion. “We just finished our
3rd shooting day [Oct 6th] and it has been nothing but old days
revisited," Ben Victor admitted. "
We are [seen] throughout the episode and it should be
quite a chuckle. We lost it today for a few minutes and we could
barely get through the scene. Big laughs!!! We are comical characters
for sure”. The name of the episode
and its airing date have not been released yet, but rest assured, the
ratings for the show will spike when it airs. (Joan)
Oct
8: xXx 2: While Vin Diesel
will not be returning to the franchise in front of the screen, he will
remain as an executive producer on the sequel.
Oct
8: Man From Uncle: The Rights
to the 1960's TV show "Man From Uncle" have been purchased
by Ember Entertainment. The agents of the United Network Command for
Law Enforcement team fight evil caused by a group
called Thrush. No word yet if this will become a television
project or feature film. Feature is written all over it, aka 007, and
Mission Impossible.
Oct 7: Tarzan:
The WB's Tarzan premiered last night. Director David Nutter (Babylon
5) did an outstanding job with the first episode. It opened with a
dark feel and held me through the one hour episode. The monkey
fighting style designed for the Tarzan was incredible, as was the main
characters acting. This series has potential to be the next smallville
for the WB. The writers however must come up with some interesting
stories to keep the series alive.
Oct
7: Joan of Arcadia: After
watching two-episodes this one looks like a dude in the making. There
was some decent dramatic scenes and the writing is simply so so at
best. The writing seems stretched to cover the hour time-slot. Doubt
I'll be watching anymore. After a few more episodes just about
everyone in town will have talked to Joan as God. The novelty wears
off after a while.
Oct
7: Navy NCIS: The show could
go either way. I don't find any of the characters in the series as
interesting as those in CSI or CSI: Miami. The problem with the
series is more towards the writing than the acting, which is average
at best.
Oct
7: Carnivale: The HBO series
is excellent. I'm hooked to it after just the first episode, and the
fourth aired last night against Tarzan. Gotta love the VCR. The series
basically about good vs evil is much more with the writing, acting and
backdrop of the series. There are characters for every viewer to find
of interest. This is a must see.
Oct
7: Jake 2.0: Interesting
series from UPN that has the potential to become a solid performer
behind Enterprise this season. Jake started slow and continues to find
itself each week and it does get better. Unfortunately Enterprise and
Jake are battle Smallville and Angel head to head on Wednesday's. If
the first weeks ratings of these four fighting in the ratings, Jake is
its lead in series are in trouble. Jake 2.0 could be outdated before
it gets going. Maybe a little more James Bond style and Baywatch look,
if you know what I mean...
Oct
7: Tru Calling: This one is to
much like seven days without the time machine. The premise sucks, and
the series appears doomed.
Oct
7: The Handler: One word
describes this series... BORING. The acting is lifeless, the writing
is horrible in the Handler. No action and no drama... just boring.
Tune in elsewhere - please.
Oct
7: Las Vegas: This is another
series that has potential depending on the shows writers. If they can
tell a good story the acting is in place. It's great to see James Caan
on the small screen. He even makes the bad writing sound good. I like
the series, but it needs a bit more to keep people hanging around.
Maybe some more scenes of Vegas and bit more action. Using more
character driven stories rather than the standard Las Vegas stories
would work well in the show.
Oct
7: Threat Matrix: The only
thing going for this series is the threat of an early cancellation
notice. There's no cohesiveness with the actors. They just seem to be
going through the motions of the script. Dialogue writing doesn't
exist with Threat Matrix. Must have gotten their creative writing team
from some mute clan in the backwoods of Africa or something. I don't
know if they have watched television before. This was a really
anticipated series, and fans have been very disappointed.
Oct
7: The OC: More of a young
persons series that easily relates to what Beverly Hills 90210 use to
be. Seems to be the same target audience. The first two-episodes were
pretty good and the series has done well in the ratings. Should be
around for a while.
Oct
7: Karen Sisko: Carla Gugino
is beautiful, funny, and a good actress. But it's hard to buy this
petite female in the role she plays. She lacks the build for the role,
like no mucles at all. The series looks great and I really enjoyed the
first episode. Could be a keep for several seasons, but she needs to
bulk up a bit for the role. You can't toss guys around and throw a
punch with no muscle behind it. Isn't going to happen.
Oct
7: Andromeda: After watching
this seasons first episode of Andromeda I was left wondering... what
has this series accomplished in its three seasons? Nothing.
They've managed to change the shows basic plot every year and alienate
all the people that created the series to begin with. I don't find the
series moving forward and the fans are the ones left out in the cold
of space waiting for what the series was suppose to have been.
Oct
7: Prisoner of Azkaban: The
Harry Potter project has picked up Emma Thompson to portray Professor
Trelawney.
Oct
7: Lost in Space: The new Lost
in Space project has landed at the WB according to the
DarkHorizons.com website. Brian Singer is excited to be working with
John Woo on the project. Why is Woo doing the project when he said he
doesn't like Sci-Fi?
Oct 4: Universal Bones Lawless/Sorbo:
Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and Lucy Lawless (Xena) have filed lawsuit
against Universal Studios. What has a Hollywood Studio done now? Glad
you ask. breach-of-contract lawsuits against Universal Studios
claiming that the studio cooked its books in order to prevent them
from receiving a percentage of the grosses on their series. Lawless
said her deal called for her to receive 5 percent of the adjusted
gross receipts, while Sorbo, in a separate suit, claimed 8 percent.
However, they accused Universal of rigging its figures by inflating
production and distribution costs. A Universal spokesperson said that
the company does not
comment on lawsuits." (imbd.com) Remember Fox screwing David
Duchovny the same way several years ago? Greedy bastards agree to a
deal and then cook the books not to pay.
Oct
4: Midler/Walken, aka Divas:
Bette Midler and Christopher Walken, the stars of "The Stepford
Wives" have been assholes on the set towards director Frank Oz.
Supposedly things are settled now, but it never should have happened.
This crap is starting to happen during many productions, and it does
nothing but ruin the film for the fans when it's released. Believe it
or not WE are the most important part of the puzzle.
Oct
4: Teen Wolf: The Cheesey Teen
Wolf character originally portrayed by Micheal J. Fox, is heading to
UPN as a new series. UPN and Warner Bros. are looking to depart from
the comedic portion of the two film franchise and create a Buffy-esque
style series. A college student who finds himself to be a werewolf.
Warner Bros. has purchased the rights from MGM and UPN has given a
script commitment.
Oct
4: Out of Diesel: Believe this
or not but action star Vin Diesel has confirmed that he is out of the
xXx franchise, and has no interested in returning to the character.
Stepping into the role will be... Ice Cube. Not exactly the physical
specimen, but could do nicely in the role. To bad. I liked the
film with Diesel. The script was very good, but he was.
Oct
4: Star Trek TNG: Want a set
of all seven seasons at one time? One price gets it all. Well in
the United Kingdom Paramount is planning a seven season boxed set
titled... "The Borg Megacube". No word on a U.S. release. Do
it with Deepspace Nine at a decent price and I'm there.
Oct
4: Submariner (Prince Namor):
From the pages of Superhero Hype. Kevin Feige of Marvel Comics told
Wizard Magazine that the script is epic script for Prince Namor is
complete. Now comes the fine tuning of the script to turn it into a
masterpiece.
Oct
3: Dr. Who: Tom Baker (Dr. #7)
told the BBC local evening news that tranvestite english comedian
Eddie Izzard is the new new doctor. (Grant) After the supposed leak
the BBC website put information that Baker was making a comment that
Izzard WOULD BE an interesting choice - but that is NOT what he
said. Time will tell.
Oct
3: Anonymous Rex: The Sci-Fi
Channel has FINALLY given the greenlit to put the pilot into
production. Development has been done to create the effects techniques
needed to create dinosaurs disguised as humans, which is what slowed
down going into production. (Ron Wolfe) Check the
website... www.ericgarcia.com
for more information.
Oct
3: Tremors 4: A shitty series
can't keep an a bad idea down. Despite poor performances by the
defunct series, and two sequel films, there will be a Tremors 4
prequel direct to video feature. Expect the video in December of
2003.
Oct
3: New DVD Series: Coming soon
to DVD will be... The Tick on Sept. 30th. Black Scorpion on 9.23.
Battlestar Galactica on 10.21 with the feature film due out the same
day. The Lost World hits retailers on 11.04. Lost in Space joins the
DVD craze on 1.6.04 and Jeremiah on 1.20.04
Oct
3: Catwoman: Time Magazine has
a great image of the new Catwoman in costume. Halle Berry looks hot,
in the revealing outfit.
Oct
3: Batman: Things are shaping
up on the new Batman feature. Chrstian Bale is set to don cape and
cowl; the script is about ready, and they have a release date. Now,
just do a good job with the production.
Oct
3: Logan's Run: Should the
film really get a remake? Sure the feature doesn't match the book, but
it was a good flick. Be that as it may, the Dark Horizons website is
reporting that Bryan Singer could be attached to helm the the proposed
big budget remake. New Stuff? Nah!!!
Oct
3: Lord of the Rings Gets Loooong:
AICN has learned that the run-time of the third and final Rings
film "Return of the King" is a 3.5 hours. Any chance this
will be getting a serious cut down? Sure hope not.
Oct
3: Red Dwarf: Anyone else
tired of the project already. Well, production has been delayed AGAIN.
This time it's been pushed back until May of 2004.
Oct
3: Stupid Stooge: There are
some things you don't mess with. Well, maybe a lot of things. One of
them is the classics, and that includes the comedy of the Three
Stooges. But nothing is sacred anymore. Variety is reporting that
Warner Bros. has greenlit the Farrelly Bros. desire to revisit the
comedy team. Stupid...
Oct
3: Weaver Hot For an Alien:
Sigourney Weaver is HOT for an Alien 5 feature (big paycheck). She and
Fox have talk to Ridley Scott about it. Scott says right now and
nothing is serious. He isn't ever sure he would want to do it. If
Weaver is in a new Alien 5 feature you can likely plan on a flop.
She's a 50+ actress which puts fans off as a lead. Look at action
stars Stallone and Schwarzenegger. Doesn't matter if the script and
film are good. Old actor, no money at the box office.
Oct
2: Carnivale: Excellent HBO
series. If you haven't watched it yet, you have truly miss out on some
excellent characters and writing. If you have HBO, take a chance a
catch an epiosde. Nick Stahl is great in the series.
Oct
2: Jimmy Smits: Smits, hot off
his Star Wars gig, has a new series from Warner Bros. and
Bruckheimer's Production company. Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue) will play a
Private Eye (original eh) who handles the problems of the rich and
