Mann & Machine originally aired on NBC from April 5, 1992 to July 14, 1992. Starring David Andrews as Detective
Bobby Mann and Yancy Butler as beautiful Sergeant Eve Edison, the man and android
detective show didn't manage the ratings to be more than a mid-
season replacement.
Mann & Machine consisted of one
a one-hour pilot and eight one- hour episodes, and
ran once as part of the Sci-Fi Channel's 'Sci-Fi Series Collection'

Mann & Machine is set in the near future (references
within the series indicate a time frame between 1998 and 2009) when police duty is being augmented by robot patrolmen, though the robots aren't very
sophisticated. Then along comes Eve, a prototype for a new AI robot, and she's being field-tested as the partner
for Detective Bobby Mann, who dislikes robots, but comes to like Eve. Captain Claghorn is Bobby and Eve's
boss.

& MACHINE EPISODE SYNOPSIS
1."Prototype"
Mann is teamed with a cyborg cop named Eve. Eve THEN finds evidence that implicates another
cop, who happens to be Mann's childhood friend, in the murders of international steel brokers.
2. "Dating Game" Eve has her first date - with the top suspect in the serial murders of women linked by the
same dating service.
3. "No Pain, No Gain" Eve revives an ex-cop, who wants to
die, by getting him to join an investigation of murders committed for body parts.
4. "Water, Water, Everywhere" Mann's
food-reporter neighbor investigates the murder of a another reporter who
broke the story about a contaminated reservoir.
5. "Torch Song" Eve's capacity for emotion expands when she makes friends with a singer who thinks she's
being tormented by a music exec she suspects killed her sister.
6. "Mann's Fate" Mann moves in with Eve after his home is destroyed by a psychotic bomber seeking the
person who busted him.
7. "Truth or Consequences" Eve learns more about the human condition while guarding a young girl and her
mother, who's decided to testify against her accountant husband's mobster employers.
8. "Billion Dollar Baby" A genetically
engineered bundle of joy is worth a bundle to baby brokers who will kill for
the child. The babies presence prompts parental passion in Eve.
9. "Cold, Cold Heart" Mann plays Eve's dying brother to investigate the death of a doctor who was the only
hope for a terminally ill cryonics scientist.

Andrews', then you can catch him in 'Cherry 2000' and Terminator 3. Yancy Butler fans can catch her in the TNT
series, 'Witchblade', which aired in Sept. of 2k and at a drug rehab
center near you.
