Ultimate Avengers 2
takes up right where the first film left off. The animation is
slightly sub-par to its predecessor and the action scenes seem
forced rather than fun like an animated film should be. All that
crap being said Ultimate Avengers 2 is a very well done film that
fans will enjoy immensely. On the down side is the report that this
animated tale of Marvel Superheroes cost Lionsgate a budget of $50
million. With that kind of money a third Underworld film could have
been done.
Overall the film gets
a passing grade, but the story content could have been much better.
The studios and Marvel seem to move away from the comic book stories
when they do a film. So many fans would love to see the comic books
stories move comic book to film.
PACKAGING
The packaging
for this product looks stellar. All
the Superheroes blasting out of the cover. The one disc film comes
in a standard plastic flip case with a very beautiful embossed
cardboard slipcase with the same image used on the DVD case
insert.
VIDEO:
The video
looks wonderful. The transfer is
colorful, bright and debris free.
The animation process to day is
inspiring to say the least. Great job on the video transfer.
AUDIO:
The audio transfer is sweet in Dolby
Digital 5.1. It isn't gonna put iany serious reverb through the rear
channels, but it sound deep and resonates well. The voices are crisp
and clear. The soundtrack is powerful for an animated movie. Fans
will enjoy it.
BONUS FEATURES:
The extras are nice and
fans should make good use of them.

SUMMARY:
The discount price around $14 isn't bad since the film is only 73
minutes. But the film is pretty good and the violence is more for
the adult than minor. That being said I have see it just as bad with
Bugs Bunny/Road Runner during their one hour show when I was growing
up.
Yeah, if you like
anime this is a nice film for the collection.
