Roland Emmerich never gets the credit he's due from buyers, viewers and critics alike. No ever admits to liking this guys features, yet they continue to make money at the box office and sell on DVD. I even heard crap from some about his last hit "The Patriot" starring Heath Ledger & Mel Gibson. People are tough, or maybe just embarrassed by what they watch.

I know you remember Stargate, Independence Day, The Patriot and yes, even the less than stellar Godzilla. The guy just gets no respect. Emmerich know how to put together a great film.

One idiot reviewer on CNN spoke about the new DVD release of "The Day After Tomorrow". He spoke only about the extras, how lousy they were and hard to use. Who cares? I don't purchase a movie for the extras, do you? I am interested in the the film. If the video has deleted scenes restored I am one excited idiot. Nothing better than the directors cut of a film.  The DVD transfer of "Day After Tomorrow" is beautiful. The story is epic and the special effects spectacular.  I enjoyed the movie immensely. I've already watched the film twice since purchasing the disc yesterday. It's likely I hit play again before the weekend is up.

Cinematography, acting, special effects, story - shit, it's all there for the viewer to enjoy. It's another great film for Roland Emmerich. You like disaster films? Man, this is the disaster film of the year hands down. Most reviewers gave the film a C+ or so when it hit theaters. These morons wouldn't know a good film if it sat on their face and wiggled. Look at the films they choose for best film 90% of the time and you know what I mean. Look at these dopes from Rolling Stone like Peter Travers or Jan Stuart from Newsday. These guys or gals are clueless when it comes to a quality entertaining film. Read their reviews... it they say it sucks, go see the film.

The Day After Tomorrow is a must have for the DVD movie collection. I got mine, did you?

PACKAGING
Fox has done a nice packaging job with the film. It comes in a hard plastic case that slides nicely into a coated cardboard slide. It's nice.

VIDEO
The video quality is A+. Most of the film is shot indoors or in the white of winter. The blacks are sharp in contrast to the white scenes.

AUDIO
The audio sounds great on the surround sound. It's Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1.
