The rein of animation is on the move in the United States and the anime look done by the Japanese is creeping into our animation.

Teen Titans has a really good look and feel to it. There were no expectations when I opened the packaging. I have never watched a complete episode of the animated Teen Titans before now.

I just remember Robin as Batman's sidekick in the 60's series and in the feature films.

The animation is very cool and the shots are impressive at times. Teen Titans is totally Japanese anime without a doubt even to the them music, which has that metallic ringing voice sound you here with other Japanimation.

For me it's no Johnny Quest or Herculoids, but it's better than most of the animated series I watched as a kid. I had a good time watching the episodes.

PACKAGING:
The packaging is horrible. It's Warner carboard flip case with plastic lock. The center lock to hold down the video is pure crap. It must be created from hard plastic because for of the animated discs I was sent to review has part of the center lock broken. Four out of five are not good odds for anything.

VIDEO:
The video presentation is nearly perfect. I couldn't believe how vivid the colors were on the transfer. You have to enjoy the anime style of animation work to appreciate the quality of the work done here. Most of the stories and dialogue were not within my realm of enjoyment but I enjoyed the watch for the animation itself.

AUDIO:
The sound
is surprisingly good. The music is crisp and takes you through a variety of styles. The characters voices come through very strong and are not demeaned by the music.

BONUS FEATURES:
Teen Titans comes with about 25 minutes of bonus material fans will find enjoyable. Almost 22 minutes of the material is used in the Comic Creations with a music video from Puffy AmiYumi who are responsible for the show musical theme.

SUMMARY:
This is definitely a Teen Titans for the younger kiddie generation. It's not the way I would have done the Teen Titans if given the direction or producing duties by it is extremely well done. I can't take anything away from the DVD or the quality just because my tastes are different. This is cool dvd. Get yours today.
